I sat in my meeting staring down at the table. That uneasy feeling from when I met that wolf in the woods seemed to linger. I felt a someone place a hand on my shoulder breaking me from my thoughts
"You okay dude" Lewis said with a concerned look on his face I nodded taking a breath
I said watching as James walked in sitting down in his spot. I took a breath standing up and looking around at the kings before me.
I said hearing an uproar of voices
someone said I looked down remembering the encounter
I said looking around the room scanning the angry faces of the other kings
another voice said suddenly I remembered the man red headed man from the restaurant
I said king Jacob sighed rubbing his temples
he said
I said we talked for a while after the meeting exchanging information
I walked to the car hopping into the driver's seat watching as Lewis got in buckling his seat belt. I began to make my way back towards the pack house, I was absolutely exhausted
he said I thought back to that time remembering his words
I said feeling irritation run through me as I thought about it
he said I shook my head keeping my eyes on the road
I said it was quiet for a moment before he spoke again
he said
I said the rest of car ride was silent there was uneasiness in the air.
I pulled into the driveway of the packhouse getting out and walking inside. I could smell the scent of my mate in the air making my mouth water, I slowly walked into the living room seeing Danny on the couch with serena a youngling from the pack. They sat on the couch watching Moana laughing at the stupid chicken

Danny turned around his bright green eyes locking with mine he smiled making my heart skip a beat
he said I walked over to him smiling
I said placing a kiss on his forehead I watched as his face flushed slightly making my body tingle. it was getting really difficult to control myself around him.
he said looking over at serena who giggled softly
I said kneeling down in front of her. she smiled widely looking at me with her big blue eyes
she said excitedly making me smile. I looked over at Danny seeing specks of white begin to form in his eyes. I looked back to serena gesturing her to come closer
I whispered to her she nodded happily. I patted her head turning to Lewis
I said he looked down at his paperwork looking back to me
he said
I said I could see the irritated look in his eye as I grabbed Danny's hand leading him upstairs
Lewis yelled behind us making me laugh. I turned to look at Danny who had a deep blush on his cheeks as I led him into my room
I said watching his eyes met mine. i tried to fight against my urges as he sat down on my bed laying back on the pillows
he said looking away from me
he said softly I took off my tie throwing in on the desk by my bed. Dannys eyes followed my every move as I began to take off my jacket.
I said unbuttoning my collar and turning towards him
he said making me laugh I leaned over the bed leaning in so that our faces were inches apart
I stared down at his lips returning my gaze to his eyes which now had specs of white in them
I said he smiled softly nodding. I placed my hand on his cheek connecting our lips. everywhere we touched created tingles on my skin. I pulled away smiling down at him his cheeks were flushed, and he looked anywhere but at me.

I climbed in next to him pulling him into me
he said as I buried my head into his neck. it took everything in me not to lose control, but it felt so good being close to him.
I said he softly began to play with my hair making me instantly relax. I felt his chest rise and fall with every breath making my heart race in my chest. I slowly began to fall asleep letting exhaustion take over me.
...
" Beau Danny wake up" someone said shaking me roughly I quickly opened my eyes looking to see Lewis in a frantic state
"Lewis what's wrong" I said hearing Danny groan and open his eyes
Danny said tiredly rubbing his eyes
Lewis said I quickly got up with Danny right behind me. We walked downstairs to see a large group of pack members all standing around murmuring softly
I said quickly pushing past people to the middle of the circle I stopped in my tracks looking at the shattered window in front of me. A large brick laid in front of me with something written on it in what looked and smelled like blood
Danny said beside me
Lewis said shivering as the cold breeze drafted through the broken window
Danny said I felt anger run through me as I recognized the smell of the strange blood.
I said

The Trials of Bethany
Bethany, is a young girl who didn't expect anything more from her life than to spend her time churning butter and trying to ignore the abuse of her fellow village members. In any other world this would be a reasonable expectation for a person in the middle ages. But Bethany was lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it. Because her world was about to get a whole lot bigger, and a whole lot scarier. The Trials of Bethany, is a Gamelit story of a system arriving on earth in the middle ages with the characters being teleported away regularly to face trials to earn their skill levels. As such there won't be a flood of skills however there will be constant progression and other hidden treats. The story will be evolving as it's written and as always aspects of the story/world are prone to change. This is my first serious attempt at writing and my first time publishing anywhere so all constructive criticism is welcome. Currently uploading Tuesday & Friday with occasional bonus chapters.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

The Villain's Double Life
“The Villain’s Double Life as the Hero’s Mentor," “Demon Nobles Want to Live Too: A Hero-Raising Simulator for the Transmigrated Villain," “Just Because I’m a Villain Doesn’t Mean I Want the World to End!” Cyrus Calvide was the second son of an aristocratic lord; haughty, vain and power-hungry. One day, when his ancestral inheritance manifested, he discovered he was able to steal other’s powers and abilities using demonic magic. Taking this as a sign that he was destined to rule over others and become the new king of this land, he poisoned his father, killed his elder brother, and embarked on the path to greatness, taking advantage of a demonic invasion to consolidate power and harvest the abilities of others in a cruel and bloody fashion. Until he was summarily defeated by the Hero as a mid-game boss battle and executed for his crimes, of course. When a dedicated fan of the RPG “Next to Eden” awakened in the body of the cruelest future Count, four years before the beginning of the game, he pledged to live humbly. He would let his brother lead and support the Hero from the shadows to ensure the demon invasion would be defeated and he could enjoy life in peace. Rather, he would have, if he hadn’t gotten the Hero’s mentor killed in a freak monster attack before the Hero’s training could even begin. How was he supposed to live a life of peace and luxury if the Hero couldn’t stop the end of the world!? Donning a mask, Cyrus took up mentoring the Hero himself; how hard could it possibly be? . . . Four years later, the kind jack-of-all-trades hero Leon had become a twisted powerhouse: alienating his party members, clearing enemy encounters in a single magical blast, and coldly ignoring the affections of the girl whose love would have allowed him to clear the final boss. He seemed to have plastered himself to his Master’s side, instead. Cyrus bit back his despair while the hero reached out to grasp his hand. “Please stop ignoring the saint, Leon; you can't beat the Demon King by grinding stats! You need the power of love, remember?” “Don’t worry, Master,” Leon smiled as he traced the lines of Cyrus’s palm gently, almost reverently. “I have all the love I need.” VDL is two parts plot and worldbuilding, one part slow-build gay romance, starring a man far too proud to admit he's in over his head and the hero who loves him. Should be updating weekly.
