"Get up!"

Fei Qianchi jumped into the bed, his white hair falling over his face as he laughed, hugging tightly onto the pale youth who was still sleeping.

"Qianchi," Having just woken up from Fei Qianchi, Zhu Longwang was still half-asleep even as Fei Qianchi grasped him tightly.

"Longwang, it's almost noon." Fei Qianchi teased the man, puckering his lips as his hands took advantage of the half-asleep man.

Zhu Longwang blanked for a second, trying to process Fei Qianchi's words. As soon as he did, his whole body bolted up, startling Fei Qianchi, who let go of him.

"Mother told me to meet her for a bit." He scrambled out of bed.

Fei Qianchi stared at Zhu Longwang who was acting like a headless chicken. He laughed, loud and boisterous.

Fei Qianchi's blue eyes glimmered. How many years had it been? Not as long as you'd think. It had only been half-a-year since he had married Zhu Longwang. It wasn't long at all. In fact, it was practically short.

Of course, he had spent this time wisely, tossing Zhu Longwang around. Nothing had changed. No, he did not cut his hair. It was a rather tempting idea but Zhu Longwang's sad eyes remained in his mind whenever he brought up this topic, thus, Fei Qianchi could never go through with it.

"Longwang, I'm kidding." Fei Qianchi hurriedly said before the man really bolted out. "Mother said that she would be busy today too. Come back." He called out for his husband.

Sure enough, the man quickly returned. His beautiful eyes slightly narrowed, thin lips pulled taint, his face becoming ten times colder.

"Alright, alright, sorry for pranking you." Fei Qianchi was the first to admit defeat as he stared at Zhu Longwang, raising his hands over his head with a sneaky grin.

"I always fall for this," Zhu Longwang grunted, muttering under his breath.

"I like that part about you," Fei Qianchi got up, sneakily wrapping his arms around Zhu Longwang's waist, his chin resting on Zhu Longwang's shoulder. "Let's go somewhere instead. Now that my cultivation is stabilized, I'm not worried about anything. We can go buy some things for you and experience the life of a normal mortal." He whispered into Zhu Longwang's ear, sending a burst of hot air running past Zhu Longwang.

Zhu Longwang's ears flushed from Fei Qianchi, trying to maintain an emotionless expression on his face.

"Orrrrrr, we can just hang out on this rather sturdy bed. What do you want?" Fei Qianchi lowered his voice, husky and raspy.

Zhu Longwang shied away, blushing. "Let's go out." His cheeks were flushed.

Fei Qianchi sighed, acting as if he was sad about this decision. Of course, he didn't care for either, he just wanted to make Zhu Longwang smile.

"Alright then." Fei Qianchi kissed the man's nape.

"Don't." Zhu Longwang quickly pushed Fei Qianchi away, clasping a hand over his mouth.

Being pushed away, Fei Qianchi looked at Zhu Longwang with innocent eyes before sticking out a tongue to lick Zhu Longwang's palm. Zhu Longwang's eyes grew wide, about to take away his hand but Fei Qianchi quickly clasped onto the man's wrist.

Holding Zhu Longwang's palm, Fei Qianchi mischievously smirked before he opened his mouth, running his tongue along Zhu Longwang's long and pale fingers. Feeling the man grow taunt, Fei Qianchi began to gently push the man onto the bed, never breaking his hold on him.

As Zhu Longwang lied on the bed, the man above him still smiled. "Can we do it just one time?"

Zhu Longwang flushed. He wanted to refuse, but the sight of the man's alluring face, his actions that were openly seducing him, his mouth that was now sucking on his fingers, Zhu Longwang felt his body grow weak.

Zhu Longwang's other hand covered his face. "That... fine..."

Fei Qianchi smiled like a child who was given candy. "It'll be fast."

Before his words even ended, his hands were already taking off Zhu Longwang's clothes, stripping him bare.

"Wait!"

That cry was never answered as soon enough, small pants and moans, groans and grunts began to leak out of the room.

By the time they finished, Zhu Longwang ended up crying. Of course, Fei Qianchi continued to act like a beast in heat, because he really was. Just staring at Zhu Longwang was enough to make him lose control. Whenever he thought about how this lovely man was his, everything felt like a dream.

"You said you would stop after the first round." On the bed, Zhu Longwang found himself cleaned. Even so, remembering that the man holding him didn't hold back at all, it was enough to send a rush of anger into his heart. Now, his whole body was in pain.

"Sorry," Fei Qianchi kissed the man's forehead, "You're just too lovely. I can't resist if you stare at me with such a face like that."

"How am I supposed to walk like this?" Zhu Longwang was slightly throwing a tantrum. His brows furrowed slightly, eyes narrowing. Having been married for six months now, Zhu Longwang was beginning to understand this version of Fei Qianchi, who was both open about his emotions and desires.

"*cough*," Fei Qianchi's couldn't help but shy away from Zhu Longwang, who sent him an accusing look.

Fei Qianchi simply pulled out a small potion. "Here, I had Fei Shang make a bottle for you." He had everything prepared for his love life. While Fei Shang was a bit confused, he still did as Fei Qianchi requested.

Zhu Longwang, seeing the bottle in his hand, was shocked silly. In the end, he couldn't help but laugh. "You even had this prepared. No wonder you didn't care when tossing me around." Zhu Longwang joked, lips lifting lightly. His purple eyes shone softly as they stared into Fei Qianchi's.

Ughhhh. Fei Qianchi's heart bumped hard against his chest as Zhu Longwang smiled. Talk about a critical attack.

Fei Qianchi could feel his face flush. "Let's get you ready." Unlike him, Zhu Longwang was now quite messy. Thus, they needed another outfit.

"Don't worry, I can do that." Zhu Longwang opened the small bottle, drinking the potion as he quickly stood up. "The potion is quite effective."

Fei Qianchi looked at Zhu Longwang, who got up without a worry. As the man pulled out a robe, he quickly dressed himself in it, picking out another pair of trousers too.

When they were finally ready to set out, the sun was at its highest peak. Fei Qianchi wore a black robe embroidered in gold, highlighting his wheat skin and his white hair. His blue eyes glimmered gently, his hair was held up by a jade hairpin. By his hip, a purple jade pendant hung.

On the other hand, Zhu Longwang wore a white robe, with orchids embroidered. His hair hung down without any ornaments, making his skin appear even paler. His purple eyes appeared emotionless, his face with no expression. Like Fei Qianchi, a blue jade pendant hung by his hips.

Standing side by side, the two's appearance were a stark difference with one another. Fei Qianchi appeared more open and outgoing compared to Zhu Longwang, whose face was a bit colder.

Of course, they garnered a bit of attention as they walked side by side. They had their swords in their storage ring. At the moment, they were trying to be as similar to a mortal as possible. After all, they would gain too much attention if they went about as a cultivator.

The streets were filled to the brim. Hundreds of people were walking past each other, many stores were set up with vendors calling out every now and then.

"Doesn't this feel familiar?" Fei Qianchi suddenly asked. He smiled as he turned to look over at Zhu Longwang.

Zhu Longwang slowly nodded. It felt familiar. Only this time, things were different. "Yes," He couldn't help but smile very lightly, his whole aura suddenly changing.

Fei Qianchi held back a small laugh. "Let's go. There's a lot of things to do." He grabbed the man's wrist and began pulling him through the crowd.

Zhu Longwang's eyes widened as the man pulled him through the crowd. The fact that Fei Qianchi wasn't afraid made his heart skip in warmth. For cultivators, have a male Dao Companion was common. However, for mortals, this type of thing was considered odd and different, even looked down upon on.

By the time they finished looking around all the stores, night was already approaching. Fei Qianchi held a candied hawthorn in his hand as he handed a few copper coins to the grandma. Turning around, he immediately put it into Zhu Longwang's hand.

Zhu Longwang looked at the red candied hawthorn in his hand, eyes looking blankly towards Fei Qianchi.

Seeing the blank and confused eyes Zhu Longwang used to stare at him, Fei Qianchi couldn't resist the grin that appeared on his face, "Don't you like sweet and sour things? I don't know if you've ever tried this, y have some."

"I've had it before. Although, I was quite young the last time I ate this." Zhu Longwang looked at the candied hawthorn in his hand. The last time he had a candied hawthorn... it was when his parents were still alive. After they were killed, things changed drastically for his brother and him. It was around that time that Zhu Longwang gave up his childhood.

Fei Qianchi saw how Zhu Longwang's eyes dimmed. Knowing that he had brought up a sore memory, Fei Qianchi kept silent for a bit, waiting for the man to finish his thoughts.

"Thank you," Zhu Longwang finally whispered as he bit the candied hawthorn. In his mouth, it was first sweet before he bit into it, the sourness spreading in his mouth.

"How is it?" Fei Qianchi didn't bring up the last subject. He didn't want to be overly sensitive, plus, it wasn't a good thing to bring up those memories.

Instead of answering, Zhu Longwang pushed the hawthorn towards Fei Qianchi.

Fei Qianchi looked at the hawthorn before he took a bite, pulling off one of the hawthorns.

As he bit it, he couldn't help but wrinkle his face from the sourness, barely suppressing the thoughts of spiting it out. In his misery, he could hear Zhu Longwang laughing, a light sound that amplified in his ears.

Well, if it could make him laugh, Fei Qianchi was willing to act like a fool for a bit. Swallowing down the monstrosity in his mouth, he weakly asked, "How do you eat this?"

"It's not that sour." Zhu Longwang smiled as he ate a hawthorn.

Fei Qianchi wondered if his tastebuds had gone bad or if Zhu Longwang was just a bit strange.

At that moment, they both turned their heads towards the ruckus. Looking up into the night sky, they saw thousands of lanterns being set off into the sky. They caught sight of the small river that was filled with lanterns being pushed out.

Fei Qianchi took a quick glance at Zhu Longwang, seeing his eyes widen in surprise. In that moment, he looked like a child as he stared at the thousands of lanterns flying in the sky, before turning to the lanterns floating in the water.

"Stay here for a bit. I need to buy something quick. I'll be back soon so don't move." Fei Qianchi whispered into the man's ears.

Zhu Longwang nodded his head, not asking any questions. As Fei Qianchi walked away, his eyes turned back to look at the lanterns lighting up the sky.

On the other hand, Fei Qianchi looked at the many designed lanterns before him, seriously trying to pick one out.

"Grandma, which lantern will be best for a married couple?" Fei Qianchi asked the grandma running the small store.

"Young lad, you are already married?" The grandma walked over, smiling brightly while staring at the proper gentleman before her.

Fei Qianchi smiled, "Yes, I recently got married half a year ago." He didn't go into any further details than this.

"Ah, how lucky you are, being married so young." The grandma walked over towards him, grabbing some lanterns. "Since you have recently married then the Dragon and Phoenix, Yin and Yang lantern is perfect."

At this, Fei Qianchi stared at the lantern that she put out in front of him. The design wasn't delicate, it was a bit crude, but it was easy to see that there were some thoughts put behind the design. The black painted dragon swirled around the Phoenix, flying behind it. On the side, 執子之手,與子偕老 was written on it. Hold hands with you, grow old with you.

Fei Qianchi unconsciously smiled brighter as he read this. "How much is it?"

"This design would be more expensive, but having heard that you recently married, I'll sell it to you for one silver." The grandma lifted her index finger.

Fei Qianchi took out a silver from his pouch, handing it to the grandma.

"Have a great time, young man. Your bride must be beautiful." The grandma shouted from behind Fei Qianchi as he walked away with the lantern.

"He is!" Fei Qianchi wasn't afraid to say this out loud. He and she was pronounced the same way, unless written, no one would able to figure anything from his words.

Zhu Longwang waited for Fei Qianchi to come back. As he stared at all the couples holding lanterns and setting them off into the sky and the sea, there was an odd feeling in his heart.

At that moment, a gentle tap on his shoulder made him turn back.

Zhu Longwang stared at the man before him. With white hair against his wheat skin, the black robe hung on his tall and built figure. His blue eyes were warm and bright, his hands held out a lantern. "Longwang, for you."

His voice was gentle and warm. As Zhu Longwang stared at the man before him, he suddenly forgot about his previous thoughts.

"Is this what you went away for?" Zhu Longwang couldn't help but ask as he accepted the lantern.

Fei Qianchi nodded, "I saw you looking at the lanterns so I went out to buy one. I hope I didn't take too long."

Zhu Longwang fiddled with the lantern. His heart felt warm. "No, not at all." In fact, he would have waited longer.

"Good, I didn't want to make you wait for long." Fei Qianchi moved closer. Under the moonlight, in a crowd of ten thousands, he gently caressed Zhu Longwang's face.

"Hurry, let's go. There's too many people here." Zhu Longwang couldn't help but get nervous. He wasn't embarrassed, but imagining people sneering and ridiculing Fei Qianchi made himself afraid.

"Alright," Fei Qianchi didn't linger on the topic for long. He knew that this society was very judgmental, hence, he quickly made way for Zhu Longwang through the crowd.

Zhu Longwang focused on the figure in front of him. Strong in both will and heart, Zhu Longwang felt his own heart beat. He wasn't afraid, not with Fei Qianchi by his side. He had waited for centuries just to be with him. Now, the years he spent waiting in pain couldn't compare to the days he spent with Fei Qianchi. Unconsciously, he reached out a hand to grab Fei Qianchi's robe.

Fei Qianchi felt a small tug on his robe. He didn't look back nor did he pause. After all, who could it be but Zhu Longwang. He continued walking as they finally reached a clearer spot with less people.

"This spot should be alright." Fei Qianchi and Zhu Longwang settled next to the water bank. "Do you want to let the lantern off into the sky or the water?"

Zhu Longwang looked back and forth between the lanterns floating on the water and the lanterns floating in the sky. "The water." The water seemed better. He didn't want their lantern to burn down or fall.

"Of course." Fei Qianchi looked around quickly as his fingers flickered. A small burst of flame burned within the lantern, lighting it up in a orange tint. "Let's both let it go. Make a wish."

Fei Qianchi grabbed one end of the lantern while Zhu Longwang held another end. As they knelt down by the side of the river, Fei Qianchi couldn't help but smile as he stared into Zhu Longwang's eyes. He made a wish. He wished that they would be able to grow old together, that with Zhu Longwang, he would age and die, would live in joy.

"Are you ready?" Fei Qianchi's voice was low and warm.

Zhu Longwang nodded as he looked into the man's eyes.

Fei Qianchi lightly pushed the burning lantern as Zhu Longwang did the same too. As they watched the lantern drift further away into the blue water, Fei Qianchi stood up and helped Zhu Longwang up too.

"The sky is beautiful tonight." Fei Qianchi looked at the night sky filled with thousands of lanterns. Yet, as he turned to Zhu Longwang, it was obvious that nothing could compare to him. Everything paled when compared to Zhu Longwang.

"The water is too." Zhu Longwang also replied. He reached out for Fei Qianchi's hand suddenly feeling unafraid.

Fei Qianchi felt a warm hand grasp onto his own. He also gripped onto this hand, holding on tighter. "Thankfully, we have forever to spend with one another." Just thinking about it was enough to make his heart warm.

Zhu Longwang felt his eyes water. Once upon a time, he felt helpless, as if his love was wrong. Once upon a time, he thought that his sacrifices would never be known. Now, as if Heaven was giving way for him, it allowed him this day. So many centuries of pain could never compare to the man now by his side. Even if he was given a second chance to redo these events, he wouldn't change anything.

Fei Qianchi watched Zhu Longwang. The man quietly looked at their lantern floating in the water, drifting bit by bit further away.

In fact, Fei Qianchi could almost figure out the thoughts in Zhu Longwang's head. There was something about the man's eyes as he gazed towards the water. The River of Louyang. That was where they had gone before too.

Fei Qianchi smiled softly. Zhu Longwang, perhaps he was a cold man in front of other. But with time, the man was also warm. He was warm and both beautiful, strong and resilient yet also weak and soft. He was everything. He wasn't the cold immortal others made him to be and he definitely wasn't the man Fei Qianchi once thought he was.

"Longwang, is it beautiful?" Fei Qianchi finally spoke up. His eyes looked on forward with warmth, staring at the man before him.

Zhu Longwang turned back. His purple eyes were glazed, a bit misty, but there was a light smile on his face that made him both gentle and warm. "I never imagined that such a day would arrive for me." There was a hint of relief yet also a bit of pain behind his words.

"It won't change. I'll be here." Fei Qianchi whispered. It was already quiet now. Everyone was crowding, waiting for the fireworks that were soon going to be set. Only he and Zhu Longwang were here. Hence, he reached forward and hugged the man's waist, his face near Zhu Longwang's ear.

Zhu Longwang leaned back into Fei Qianchi's warm arms, his warm embrace. "I know. From now, you'll always be by my side and I'll always be by yours." The man was silent for a moment. "Qianchi, I want to know what happened in our last life."

Fei Qianchi felt a cold wave wash over him. Why? He couldn't understand. Perhaps, did Zhu Longwang know about Su Lianghe? But even so, it meant that they would be entangled within another mess.

"I know that you haven't told me everything. But I believe that we should know about what happened to Su Lianghe, and what happened to our fate and how it involved him in that last life." Zhu Longwang's voice lowered. But he didn't hide away. He continued speaking.

Fei Qianchi grew flustered. It wasn't like he was disagreeing, he was simply worried. Not to mention, Zhu Rong's words still lingered heavily in his mind.

"I'm not mad about anything. I'll follow yours words. Perhaps this last life can help us with this life too." Quickly, Fei Qianchi compromised.
