《Steal The Male Lead》174

Su Fuwen rushed forward, dozens of other people behind him. His red eyes burned with fury as he stared at the fallen bodies surrounding him.
From behind, Zhao Weiming smiled.
"Fei Qianchi!" Su Fuwen's voice was loud and piercing.
Fei Qianchi lifted his dull eyes, looking at the man. Struggle? What for... he might as well accept this.
"Sect Leader Su, you have an amazing sect. These people so easily betrayed you, turning their backs on Fushui Sect's principles. Quite spectacular if I might say so." Zhao Weiming smiled as Su Fuwen's face darkened.
Su Fuwen stopped and stared at Fei Qianchi. "Why would you do this?"
Facing this question, Fei Qianchi had nothing to say. He only lowered his head, hiding the pain in his eyes.
Zhao Weiming cocked his brow, "why else? He was angered by your actions. With his help, we successfully got rid of Shuihua Peak and Immortal Tian." It was easy to see that Zhao Weiming was provoking Su Fuwen.
Su Fuwen shook his head. His eyes looked over at the dead bodies that remained on the ground.
Zhao Weiming, knowing that everything was set in stone, slowly said, "My role is done here. Sect Leader Su, remember, at the moment you can do nothing to me. Be careful of the people in your own sect." As he swiped his hand, his body vanished, the rest of the demonic cultivators following him.
Left alone, Fei Qianchi stood. There was a cold and empty feeling in his heart, burning him from within.
Su Fuwen slowly stepped forward, his eyes cold and sharp. He demanded, "Fei Qianchi! You've killed everyone. To atone for your sins, what will you give up now?"
Fei Qianchi lifted his head. His eyes were so dull, it was hard to look at. In a hoarse voice, "Do with me as you wish. I've already killed them. I'll take whatever punishment you give me." There was no point in lenience, he didn't need that. He wanted pain.
Su Fuwen's eyes grew cold, cloudy. As he noticed Zhu Luishui, he suddenly furrowed his brows. Finally, he glanced at the sword that was discarded by Fei Qianchi. Realizing something, his eyes widened, "Siwang. Lord of Suzhou, this sword was hidden by you. I personally gave you this sword to hide. How did it get in Immortal Fei's hand?" He leaned in.
Zhu Luishui was already standing, his purple eyes flickering. "What do you mean, Sect Leader?"
"Did you, perhaps, give the sword to Immortal Fei?" Su Fuwen closed in, a strong aura sweeping the atmosphere.
Fei Qianchi stumbled, holding onto his consciousness, trying to dull the aching pain within his body.
Zhu Luishui remained silent. He glanced at the body of his brother lying on the ground. Clenching his fist, his voice was sharp. "Sect Leader, I would never take out that sword."
Hearing this, Su Fuwen's face grew colder. He laughed, "Impossible. I received some information. I was told that you colluded with Zhao Weiming. I carefully read through every report that I received. There has been news of you going out recently. For these centuries, you hid yourself inside of your peak, but recently, you began leaving your peak often." He slowly stepped forward, disregarding Fei Qianchi.
Fei Qianchi was listening to their words, but it was as if he couldn't hear anything. His body was there but his mind was somewhere far away. At one point, he didn't even pay attention to the words they exchanged anymore, he could only hear Su Fuwen's angry voice cutting through the air.

"These two have gone against the principles of Fushui Sect. Until further notice, they will be locked within Evernight prison." Su Fuwen concluded. At his words, the immortals behind him moved towards Fei Qianchi and Zhu Luishui.
Fei Qianchi was still as a man stepped forward, tying his hands with Splitting Immortal Rope, a rope made specially for Immortals, used to cut their access to using their Qi. But there was no point in tying him up. He was fully willing to go. Even if no one said anything, he would've gone one way or another.
On Zhu Luishui's side, the man struggled, refusing.
"Su Fuwen, what game are you playing now?! You know fully well that I wouldn't be able to collude with the Demonic Cultivators." Zhu Luishu angrily screamed, staring at the back of the man who walked away.
Su Fuwen didn't look back as he merely shook his head, "How do I know if I can trust you? You've been too suspicious lately, Zhu Luishui. There is no way to ignore all the evidence that has been laid before my eyes. Wait patiently in the prison for the final verdict."
Then, Su Fuwen ordered, "Take them away. Call everyone to come here. We will give everyone the proper burial they deserve." The man walked away, as if a thousand mountains were stacked upon his shoulders.
Fei Qianchi's body was dragged, taken by force. He couldn't even focus, he was blanking out. He could hear the voices vividly in his mind, the cries, the shouts, the last words they said to him. They didn't even hate him, they merely lamented and sighed.
Fei Qianchi only felt more pain. He was an idiot. He was too impulsive, he was someone who fell too deeply into his emotion, and in the end it only served to hurt him.
There were countless voices around him but Fei Qianchi didn't hear. He could hear Zhu Luishui's vague voice, full of anger.
Even so, he simply forced his tired body to move. He was pulled and pushed, but he didn't care. His heart felt cold and numb. It hurts. But nothing could compare to the pain, knowing that he had tinted his hands with the lives of those dearest to him.
He let himself be controlled, he became a puppet at another's will. This life of his, he would rather just end it. Let him be tortured to death so as to pay for the lives lost in the confrontation today. But there was no way he could do that.
Fei Qianchi didn't notice anything until a gust of cold wind hit him. Evernight Prison. It was a place filled with many demonic cultivators, even cultivators who were evil and rampant. Never did he think that he would come here
Evernight Prison was underground in a cave. The temperature was cold. Each prison cells were specially made. With the prisoners' Qi sealed, they were placed onto a platform surrounded by Corroding Water. Since they couldn't use their energy to escape, if they touched the water, it was the same as injuring themself. Some had even lost their lives trying to escape.
The man dragged him, pulling Fei Qianchi as he jumped, using his Qi to support him onto the platform. As Fei Qianchi sat down, the man said, "Immortal Fei, please wait for the final verdict." With that, the man untied the ropes that held Fei Qianchi's hand together. As he jumped off, a mechanism was activated, a sharp energy zapping Fei Qianchi in his head, making him flinch.

Fei Qianchi knew that this was the array. If he tried to use his energy, it would activate the array and burn him to death. The zap just now was a warning.
Fei Qianchi sat, crossing his legs. He looked at the blue water that surrounded him. He even thought about just jumping in and ending everything. Yet, he knew that he couldn't just do that. Such a way of death was too easy for him. He needed to suffer.
Fei Qianchi was injured. At the moment, he couldn't activate his Qi or he would be killed. His robe was disastrous, blooding seeping and being soaked by the cloth.
Fei Qianchi could only tear up his robe, binding his wounds with shaking hands to surpass the bleeding. He was exhausted, mentally and physically. He couldn't heal his internal injuries either, he could only sit and listen to the water move around him.
There was no one near him. It was only him in this desolate place. In this situation, the thoughts in his head could only run rampant.
Fei Qianchi didn't cry anymore. Even under the intense guilt, he knew that no punishment would be enough. There was nothing that could equal the lives he had severed.
His face wrinkled in pain, lying on the ground, not caring about his appearance. The water was so close. Just one misstep and this life of his would end.
Chen Daming was perhaps in the same situation as him. Ran Mengyu had fooled and blinded him, sealing Chen Daming away, also torturing him too.
There were so many clues. Fei Qianchi should've noticed how suspicious everything was. From the moment Baicheng betrayed him to the moment that Ran Mengyu began misleading him. No, it was from the moment Chen Daming disappeared and Ran Mengyu began to manipulate him. Since that moment, everything changed.
Fei Qianchi furrowed his brows in pain, his lips trembling. He saw the blood on his hands watching as each scene repeated in his head. He could still hear Fu Huayan's words, words that finally woke him up.
There was no point in regretting now. Everything had been said and done. He simply needed to wait for his life to end and then atone for his sins in Heaven.
He smiled, lips rising sorrowfully. How many people did he hurt? How many people, in their death, hated him? Perhaps it was everyone. Yet, he still killed them. Even if it wasn't his consciousness doing so, even if he had been controlled, nothing could take away from the fact that he still killed them.
Fei Qianchi opened his eyes, staring at the ceiling. His skin was pale, blue eyes staring aimlessly.
How much had he hurt that man? That man who continued to reach out to him even when he was controlled, when he had let his emotions take over. Even when Fei Qianchi pushed him away, he returned relentlessly. How could he be so selfless?
Fei Qianchi was the opposite of that. He was a greedy and selfish bastard. He was the worst of scums, an evil man just like what they all said. Perhaps him killing the Fei Household back in his earlier years was foretelling his actions now. Perhaps it was already a warning. Chen Daming had also used his body but it was with consent.
Fei Qianchi felt his body relax. He was so tired. Even as he fought it, the crippling thoughts engulfed him, knowing well that he had killed them all. Fu Huayan's last words rung in his ears like a curse.
He felt empty within. His life felt like a joke. It felt as if he was a walking demon and perhaps he was. Everywhere he was, death was assured. Nothing changed. Even when he was a child, to when he was already centuries old now, he still continued to lose people. It all came from his hands, committed by him.
"Qianchi."
Fei Qianchi flinched as he heard this voice, anger rising within him.
"What!?"
Ran Mengyu laughed, "How was it? I helped you achieve revenge, just like you wanted. Aren't you happy?"
Hearing these words, it made Fei Qianchi speechless, pain rising within him. Yes... his words were true. Fei Qianchi did want revenge. For what, he didn't know. It was the beginning of his doom-fall, it led to everything now.
With that one dark obsession of revenge, it led to everything being destroyed. For this revenge, Fei Qianchi had lost himself, losing so much in the process.
Hence, Fei Qianchi couldn't refute. He knew that Ran Mengyu wasn't lying. The man's words were true, so true that Fei Qianchi couldn't argue back.
"You wanted revenge and I gave you it. I merely changed your target of revenge so that it'll benefit me. You were the one who blindly fell for my trick. You were the one who lost yourself. I merely did what I could and used you to my advantage."
Fei Qianchi breathed in so deeply, his wounds bled. "Why are you still here?" He had gotten what he wanted so why was the man still here?
"Fei Qianchi, this isn't the end. It is merely the beginning. From here on, it will be even more tragic. Believe it or not, your revenge was merely the tip of the iceberg." Ran Mengyu's voice was sultry, followed by a burst of laughter.
"Please, just stop. You've gotten what you wanted, you used me to the fullest. What more do you want?" Fei Qianchi cried out. He was tired. He was tired and hurt, sick of himself. Yet, he couldn't even end it. He could only live with this torment.
"Oh, I'm not going to be doing anything. I've had my turn, now, it is his turn." Ran Mengyu chuckled with this reply.
Fei Qianchi's eyes widened. Is it? He clenched his hand, "Leave. Get out of my head."
Ran Mengyu laughed. Fei Qianchi could see the man's face, a face of ridicule and mocking towards him.
"Who else? Think carefully. Such a pity, it seems like this will be farewell for you and I. Thank you for your cooperation. Your body is now yours to control as you will. Farewell. Oh, and Daming won't be returning. I've already extracted his Twin Soul from out of your body. Farewell, Qianchi."
With that, Fei Qianchi could feel an energy draining from his body. He lied on the platform, sinking into his own misery. How should he face everyone?
His body shook, lying down with pain trickling through his whole body.
At that moment, the sound of a door opening was heard. Fei Qianchi opened his eyes, glancing over. He could hear footsteps walking towards him and it filled him with dread. He sat up, crossing his legs, his posture straight. His face was violently pale, his blue eyes were dull. His white hair was a bit messy, there was still some blood on his face.
Still, Fei Qianchi looked through the metal bars. The footsteps were slow yet forceful. Fei Qianchi forced himself to remain calm.
As the man came into view, Fei Qianchi's body couldn't help but shake, his breath stopping for a second.
Shu Dianwei... Qi Meiyao's fiancé. They were supposed to get marry in a matter of three days.
Fei Qianchi felt his body sink. What a vile creature he was. How could he?
Shu Dianwei's eyes were sunken, red veins popping. He was haggard, his robe was disordered. As he stared at Fei Qianchi, he clenched his hand by his side. Attached by his hip, a small feminine pendant was hanging.
With just one look, Fei Qianchi knew that it was Qi Meiyao's pendant. He fought to keep his emotions from showing. After killing everyone, if he showed his pain, it would only make everyone else more sick. If he showed that he regretted his actions, it would only serve to make everyone more angry. After all, he had no right to be sad. It was he who killed them. How dare he be sad when he ended their lives? It would be a mockery to those who lost someone they loved because of him.
"Senior Fei, are you happy?" Shu Dianwei's voice trembled, breaking with uneven tones.
Fei Qianchi forced his emotions down, displaying a frigid and emotionless look. "Perhaps." His voice was cold, with no emotions attached to it. To cry and beg for forgiveness was something that no one would give to him. It was better to bear the weight, the brunt of his wrath. This way, Fei Qianchi would also find peace within him. This way, Fei Qianchi could engrave his deeds deep into his heart.
Hearing this, Shu Dianwei's eyes flashed, a look of hatred spilled out. He slammed his hand onto the bars but the barrier deflected him. "Meiyao died! You killed the woman I was going to marry, stabbed a sword through her heart! How can I forgive you when you killed the woman I love most? How do I pretend as if she hasn't left me because of you?"
Fei Qianchi didn't reply to his emotional outburst. Even with his face cold and resolute, he understood that he was to blame. What about possessed? What about controlled? In the end, it was still his hands that made blood spill.
"Answer me! What do you want me to do? I loved her with all of my life. I spent decades begging for her to marry me. I spend countless years chasing her just to witness the day that we married. And yet because of your selfishness, because of your anger, you killed her. Just three days. I was going to marry Meiyao in three days, but you stole everything from me." Shu Dianwei exploded, his eyes reddening, face filled with remorse and pain as he slammed his hand, pounding on the barrier. "Give me a reason. Give me a reason why you would kill such an innocent soul like her's." His voice cracked, his lips trembled.
Facing this, Fei Qianchi merely sat still, clenching his hand.
"Are you going to pretend? Are you going to continue like this, not saying a word?" Shu Dianwei gritted his teeth, lifting his lips in exasperation. His eyes watched Fei Qianchi, seeking out his expression for any tiny hints.
Fei Qianchi kept silent, not saying a word. If he pretended he was alright, no one would know. He didn't need pity. He could bear this wrath, he could face all of it without a care, so long as it could numb the pain that drummed through him.
Shu Dianwei scoffed, holding back his anger. "I'm mad at you, it is only normal. But I know that even in death, Meiyao will not blame you, thus, even I cannot blame you. Another war has broken out. Su Fuchen's son is alive and he has come back for revenge. Perhaps the whole Fushui Secr will burn down. At the moment, Sect Leader Su is organizing all the sects to cooperate." He stopped for a second. Finally, he whispered, "This is all I came here for. Goodbye, Senior Fei." Taking one final looked, Shu Dianwei walked away.
Left behind, Fei Qianchi sat in silence.
He wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't fall. This world, he was so tired...

They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

Expected Changes None really, I'm writing as I go and have a path planned for 6 books Chapter release rate might change if we take off and feedback starts flowing, but for now, it is just about making sure Arcs flow smoothly onto the next. Cover, yes absolutely! If there is enough interest I will open a Patreon account and use the first proceeds to commission an EPIC cover and hopefully a few scary artworks of our brave Cultivators and the foes they face.
