《Steal The Male Lead》160

Fei Qianchi laid on his bed, healing from his recent injuries. He had done it. At the age of 295 years old, he had successfully ascended into the Immortal Realm, and was currently the youngest cultivator to do so. Although he had a long way before he could rival the true immortals, this was already a significant step for him.
There was a man standing by his side. Fei Qianchi didn't understand why Zhu Longwang was here. He was thankful to the man for helping him, but their relationship was nonexistent. This was the first time they were formally introduced to one another. But, Zhu Longwang merely stood by the side of the bed and Fei Qianchi fidgeted.
"Are you alright?" Zhu Longwang asked. His voice was low, his purple eyes were sharp and cold. There was no emotion on his face, it made his temperament even more indifferent.
"Yes, thank you for your help, Immortal Zhu." Fei Qianchi had already consumed quite a few pills and elixirs. Not to mention, Zhu Longwang had been coming every so often to help heal his internal injuries.
"There is no need for the title. If we consider it, you are also an Immortal too." Zhu Longwang spoke up, his purple eyes roaming around Fei Qianchi. The man looked around for a few seconds before he finally took a seat on the chair, placing down his sword that was on his back.
Fei Qianchi furrowed his brows, blue eyes holding a hint of confusion. Weird... something about Zhu Longwang felt off. The man obviously had a higher seniority than him. Yet he still visited him daily. Not to mention, Zhu Longwang was a seclusive person. Though cold, he was also quite strong, just like his older brother.
"Have we met before?" Asking this, an image passed in his head. Back then, a man dressed in white had saved him. Fei Qianchi didn't understand why he thought of his savior, but, something felt odd.
Fei Qianchi carefully watched Zhu Longwang's expression. Unfortunately, the man's expression remained as cold and indifferent as before, not changing even with his question.
In a monotonous voice, Zhu Longwang merely replied, "I don't believe we've met before. If we ever did, it was when you first entered the sect and when I saw you in the rain." Zhu Longwang then took out a piece of jade and a small carving knife.
Fei Qianchi watched, confused by what was currently happening. What was the man even doing here? Was he here just to carve? Fei Qianchi looked at the man who sat with an emotionless face, his hands carefully sculpting the jade with a small knife.
Suddenly, Fei Qianchi felt exasperated. Was this how Zhu Longwang really acted like? Fei Qianchi fought the twitching of his lips as he closed his eyes for a long second before opening them again. The man was still sitting without a care, carving and diligently cutting off the jade.
"What are you doing here?" Fei Qianchi asked at last. He couldn't stand this brutal silence.
Without looking up, Zhu Longwang replied, "Immortal Tian is currently busy at the moment. Most of the elders have been called to a meeting. You need someone to watch over you so I had to come." As he said this, the knife in his hand slid across the piece of jade that was around the size of his palm. The piece of jade was flat and the edges were constantly getting cut off.
Fei Qianchi cocked a brow at this, glancing as he turned to his side. Well, that was a valid excuse so he couldn't refute it.

"What are you carving?" Fei Qianchi was getting talkative. After a few days of being confined in his room with almost no visitors, he needed some human interaction. Thought talking to Zhu Longwang almost felt like talking to a tree at times, the man still answered nonetheless.
"A jade pendant infused with Qi. It helps me control the usage of my Qi and I also benefit using this process." Zhu Longwang replied, not seeming to mind his endless questions.
Fei Qianchi looked closer and finally noticed the purple light that was surrounding the area around Zhu Longwang. Ahh, so this was also one way you could cultivate... Zhu Longwang definitely knew a lot more than him.
"That jade pendant you have is also infused with Qi. The person who gave it to you must've wanted you to use the energy within it if you ever got into a mishap." Zhu Longwang didn't look up as he spoke, he focused on the jade in his hand.
Hearing this, Fei Qianchi opened his eyes. Where was his jade pendant? His movements became a bit erratic as he searched for the jade pendant, not finding it by his side.
"Your jade pendant is by your pillow. Your brother took it off because he didn't want you to break it while you slept." Zhu Longwang informed.
Hearing this, Fei Qianchi felt a burst of relief in his heart. That was good... he didn't know what he would do if the jade pendant was lost. It was the only thing he could use to find the man who had saved him.
He looked at the jade pendant. It was still the same, with a lifelike dragon carved onto it, lightning striking behind it. The pendant was bigger than normal pendants. Engraved on the back, a very faint character was written, 'Bai'. Fei Qianchi held the pendant closer to his chest.
"Who gave that pendant to you?" Zhu Longwang's voice was truly emotionless. Even as he continued to speak, there was no difference in his tone of voice.
Fei Qianchi didn't mind as he replied with a light smile on his face, "When I was younger, a man had saved me. He left this pendant behind." Fei Qianchi didn't go into further details. He didn't want to talk too much about this. After all, the chain of events that happened before were also difficult to explain, thus, he merely said a few words.
"I see." Zhu Longwang didn't continue as his eyes focused on the pendant in his hand. The jade was becoming brighter after being infused with Qi, but his hands retained the same speed, a calm and slow pace.
Fei Qianchi could only watch in silence as the man continued his actions, not knowing what to say. Well, it was determined that Zhu Longwang was a man of few words. Although he would talk at times, other than that, the man didn't say much. Though, at least he also wasn't too talkative.
"How long will you stay here?" Fei Qianchi brought up, a light smile on his face. Although his face was described as beautiful, he was not feminine at all. As he grew, he also became more masculine, so while his features were still beautiful, they were also very strong and accentuated.
Zhu Longwang was a very beautiful man. Except, his cold expression did make himself even more powerful so it was hard to get close to him.
Zhu Longwang stopped for a second, the knife in his hands stopping before he resumed as he replied, "Until Immortal Tian returns."

Hearing this, Fei Qianchi nodded. Truthfully, getting to know Zhu Longwang would be a good thing. The man was very powerful and a reclusive person. It was hard to meet Zhu Longwang within the sect.
"I've told you many times already, but thank you for helping me. Truthfully, my foundation wasn't stabilized when I prepared to enter the Immortal Realm, hence, it was hard to control myself." Fei Qianchi laughed as he said this. He didn't mind that Zhu Longwang wasn't making a reaction to his words. Somehow, even though Zhu Longwang's face remained as cold as ever, it still felt nice to talk to someone like this.
"Having an unstable foundation can lead to failing the tribulation or even losing your cultivation. The Heavenly Tribulation to enter into the Immortal Realm is one of the toughest yet as it marks your beginning as an immortal. Not to mention, any internal demons you face during this time can be dangerous." Zhu Longwang explained.
Hearing this, Fei Qianchi shook his head. But still, he took in these words. After all, compared to him, Zhu Longwang has already been an Immortal for a long time now.
Suddenly, Fei Qianchi heard a faint noise. He furrowed his brows as he asked, "Did you hear that?" His eyes stared straight at Zhu Longwang.
Fei Qianchi noticed that Zhu Longwang seemed to pause, freezing in his actions before he refuted, "No."
Fei Qianchi narrowed his eyes. No, it wasn't just him. He was sure he heard a cat just now. He stared at Zhu Longwang carefully. He had no pets so the only person who could've brought in a cat was Zhu Longwang.
As Fei Qianchi stared at the man, he noticed that a light blush began appearing on Zhu Longwang's cheeks, spreading to his ears. The man continued to pretend as if he knew nothing, but Fei Qianchi was sure by now. He watched with cocked brows as Zhu Longwang grew more flustered under his eyes.
Under Fei Qianchi's eyes, Zhu Longwang finally set down the things in his hand. The rigid man reached into his robe, pulling out a small white kitten that was the size of his palm.
"I found this kitten a few days ago." Zhu Longwang said at last, his cold voice having softened as he gently rubbed the small animal.
Fei Qianchi broke into a grin as he pushed himself off of the bed even as his body ached. Quickly tying the pendant back to his side, he walked over to Zhu Longwang, sitting on the chair by the table as he looked at the white fluff.
The white kitten smushed itself against Zhu Longwang's rough hands and the man seemed to soften at that. There was a light smile on his face as he softly rubbed the kitten.
"This is Xiao Bai. The kitten is a bit small so I decided to keep it for the moment. I brought it with me thinking that it wouldn't make much noise but it looks like I was wrong." Zhu Longwang set Xiao Bai onto the table as the kitten stumbled about, looking at Fei Qianchi.
Fei Qianchi felt a warm feeling hit his heart as Xiao Bai looked at him with dewy eyes. Those blue eyes looked at him with its body stumbling.
"Can I... can I touch him?" Fei Qianchi asked, unable to suppress the urge to hold Xiao Bai.
Zhu Longwang seemed a bit embarrassed as he replied, "Of course. Xiao Bai is a bit wary of people but he will be alright with you."
Fei Qianchi gently cupped Xiao Bai into his hands. Compared to his hands, the kitten was much smaller and he couldn't help but run his fingers over Xiao Bai's hair.
"Male or female?" Fei Qianchi asked as he smiled brightly, holding onto Xiao Bai.
"Male." Zhu Longwang answered back with a smile, breaking out of his expressionless face.
As Fei Qianchi stared back at Zhu Longwang, who now had a light smile on his face, his mood became even better. It seems like he was wrong. Zhu Longwang was not emotionless, the man just didn't react to many things but he still possessed emotions. The light in his purple eyes as he stared at Xiao Bai was full of life.
Xiao Bai rolled around in Fei Qianchi's hand, the white mass occasionally nibbled on Fei Qianchi's fingers.
"No wonder you wanted to hide him." Fei Qianchi joked as he turned to look at Zhu Longwang, a radiant smile upon his lips, the black line underneath his right eye was highlighted.
Zhu Longwang grew a bit flustered with that as he rubbed his nose, "I... I didn't think that you would find out so easily."
Fei Qianchi was happy. He was currently teasing Xiao Bai, but it was also nice to see that Zhu Longwang had dropped his guard down. After all, while the man could remain his normal stiff self, it was hard to keep that up at all times.
"Here, giving him back to his rightful owner." Fei Qianchi chuckled as he handed Xiao Bai back into Zhu Longwang's hands, his fingers slightly touching the other man.
Fei Qianchi watched as Zhu Longwang seemed to flinch back a bit upon their contact but he didn't think too much of it.
"Hmm, how about becoming friends with me?" It was out of the blue. But, Fei Qianchi felt that he would hit off nicely with Zhu Longwang.
Zhu Longwang closed his mouth, lips drawn tight. He gently pet Xiao Bai, the small kitten purring in his hands.
"Of course, you can refuse. Since we will be meeting each other quite a bit from now on, I want to get to know you better." Fei Qianchi wasn't nervous, staring straight at Zhu Longwang with his normal eyes, a smile on his lips.
Zhu Longwang finally replied, "Alright."
Fei Qianchi brightened up, "Perfect." He sat up straight. "Then you can help me out."
Zhu Longwang tilted his head.
Fei Qianchi smiled softly as he got up. As he returned, he held a small golden box in his hand. "This box was originally gifted to Master. It is supposedly a treasure from a few centuries ago. Master wanted me to solve it, but unfortunately, I don't have the abilities to do so. With you here, this will be perfect."
Fei Qianchi held a small golden box filled with runes and and lines running all around it. There were many words written on the box, faint lines that were hard to read.
When Fei Qianchi first received this box, he was sure that it wouldn't take long to solve. Weeks went by but the box remained sealed and indifferent to his spells. But, Fei Qianchi was a bit stubborn so he continued to try. During the days that he was locked in his room, he worked hard to solve it but the box remained tightly shut.
Fei Qianchi turned to Zhu Longwang, who froze. Fei Qianchi made eye contact with Xiao Bai, who turned towards him with his big eyes.
Fei Qianchi didn't mind. "Here." He handed the box to Zhu Longwang as the man set Xiao Bai down onto the table, the cat rolled over onto his back.
Fei Qianchi looked at Xiao Bai with a smile, his hand reaching to rub Xiao Bai's belly.
Fei Qianchi look at Zhu Longwang, who was looking over the box.
"I believe you have to..."
-
"Longwang!"
In a flourishing peak filled with falling peach blossoms, Fei Qianchi walked into the courtyard, the petals falling and masking his sight. Fei Qianchi's white hair flowed in the air, falling down to his waist even with a hairpin holding some of it up. His blue eyes were filled with vigor, a light smile on his lips.
From the courtyard within Taohua Peak, a white figure was seen darting towards Fei Qianchi.
Fei Qianchi watched as the cat pounced onto him, its body jumping up his own body and then landing on his shoulder.
"Hello, Xiao Bai." Fei Qianchi greeted.
The small kitten had already grown now. Although Xiao Bai was still much smaller than a normal cat, he was grown now. As a spiritual beast, Xiao Bai remained unchanged throughout these years.
"Where is your master?" Fei Qianchi scratched under Xiao Bai's chin as the cat purred and leaned on him. Fei Qianchi then grabbed Xiao Bai, holding him in his arms as the cat lazily leaned back onto him, yawning with his teeth showing.
It didn't take long before a figure appeared. There was a light flush on his face, purple eyes enchanting as he looked around. A very light smile was on his lips as he stared at Fei Qianchi, who waved at him with one hand.
"Hey!" Fei Qianchi called out as he walked over to Zhu Longwang. Today, Fei Qianchi was dressed in a light purple robe. The dragon pendant hung by his side with Xiao Bai in his arms.
"You came earlier than what you said." Zhu Longwang said. His voice was very calming, soothing to listen to.
Fei Qianchi merely shrugged, now used to Zhu Longwang. Another century made its way. Zhu Longwang was now a good friend of his, the two were very close. It was normal to see them with each other.
"Spring has arrived, I came to see the peach blossoms." Fei Qianchi replied as Zhu Longwang lightly shook his head. The two walked side by side, their figures were roughly the same height. From behind, it would be hard to tell who was who if not for Fei Qianchi's white hair.
"Is your brother still focused on secluding himself?" Fei Qianchi asked as they walked to Huahua pier. The two sat on a table, a pavilion over them with a lake surrounding them. There were flourishing blossom trees surrounding them from every angle,
Zhu Longwang took out a Go board, setting up the stones. "Yes, it will probably take a while before he comes back out again."
There was a slight wind in the air as the peach blossoms fell to the ground, some dotting the surface of the pond. Fei Qianchi set Xiao Bai onto his lap, the cat stretching his body as he laid his head onto his paws.
Fei Qianchi picked up a black stone in his hand. "I believe that your brother has been gone for a while now." He set the black stone onto the board, staring up as Zhu Longwang reached for a white stone.
In the wind, Zhu Longwang's hair drifted, a few pieces falling onto his face. As Fei Qianchi looked closer, he found that Zhu Longwang was truly a beauty. His purple eyes were piercing, making his eyes even more beautiful. This man retained such a cold face to others, but Fei Qianchi knew that he was much more than that.
"My brother will be gone for even longer. He was planning to leave for a very long time. After all, there is a lot weighing down on his mind. Although he doesn't say anything, it has changed how he acts." Zhu Longwang answered as he set the white stone onto the board.
Fei Qianchi was listening carefully before he noticed that a petal fell onto Zhu Longwang's hair. Seeing that the man didn't notice, Fei Qianchi reached over, his slender fingers picking off the petal.
"There was something in your hair." Fei Qianchi informed as he smiled, picking up a black stone with his right hand.
"Ah... is that so?" Zhu Longwang was silent for a while before he finally spoke up, his eyes turning to look intensely at the board.
Fei Qianchi tilted his head, his left hand still petting Xiao Bai. But even so, he didn't say anything as he admired Zhu Longwang's profile with a light smile on his lips.
