《Steal The Male Lead》157

In the heart of a small town, Fei Qianchi wandered. Dressed in a silver robe, his bright blue eyes peered ahead of him, his long white hair held up by a jade hairpin. Walking in the streets with the markets and booths surrounding the sides, many eyes wandered towards him.
Fei Qianchi looked around. He towered over everyone, his body strong and sturdy. As he looked around, he caught a peculiar item that attracted his attention.
"How much is this?" Fei Qianchi picked up a clay figure in his hand. The figure was not made with delicate designing. It was roughly put together but Fei Qianchi was reminded of his mother as he held the small clay figure in his hand. A smile came upon his lips as he asked the elderly man in front of him.
"Ah, two coppers, Young Sire." The elderly man was a bit stunned by Fei Qianchi, almost stammering as he glanced at the elegant youth.
Hearing this price, Fei Qianchi dug for his pouch. The clay figure was a rough maiden holding the hand of a small boy. Looking at it brought memories of his youth. He grabbed a silver teal and handed it to the man.
"This! Young Sire, you have paid too much!" The man shouted in turn.
But Fei Qianchi merely smiled, eyes shining brightly as the clay figure in his hands disappeared. "Please keep the change." Without getting an answer in turn, Fei Qianchi had already turned away.
Two weeks had passed by. Fei Qianchi was currently walking through Qingyang like what Hou Mengshu had told him. The small town was quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful scenery surrounding it.
As Fei Qianchi walked past a few men, he overheard their voices.
"Serves him right for daring to speak back to me!"
"Do you think he is dead by now?"
"Who knows? Dead or alive, it won't matter either way. Such a person deserves to die."
As Fei Qianchi heard this, a flicker of memories ran past his mind, bringing back a feeling of anger. He clenched his fist, his eyes turning darker. But he listened quietly, now slowly walking behind the men.
"Leave him there to die! The forest has no one within it, no one will find his body. Let the beasts of Taibai take care of him!"
Hearing this, Fei Qianchi understood what was going on. He looked around, trying to find an alley without people walking through. As he walked part everyone, he turned into an alley bared of people. He knew where that forest was. Wasting no time, Fei Qianchi's hands moved quickly, making a seal, his body disappearing soon after.
Appearing in a lush forest, Fei Qianchi took out Baihe. As he used his Qi to scan the forest for a living person, he felt a presence deeper into the forest. Fei Qianchi breathed heavily as he stepped onto Baihe, the sword soon flying in the air as he stood on top of it. Looking down at the forest, Fei Qianchi made sure to carefully scan for the human they were speaking of. It didn't take long for Fei Qianchi to locate a breath of air in the forest.
Fei Qianchi let out a breath of relief, his sword descending down into the forest. As he jumped off of the sword, his silver robes fluttered in the wind. Fei Qianchi stopped before a small body, battered in wounds and blood.
With his blue eyes tinted in worry, Fei Qianchi knelt down by the boy, checking his body. The boy was so small. Fury ran through his veins, thinking about how someone could hurt a boy like this. Fei Qianchi felt a flicker of anger run through him, pushing to suppress the voice within him. Calming himself, Fei Qianchi took out a small bottle filled with glowing liquid. Luckily, Qi Meiyao had dumped bottles and bottles of pills onto him. She had also stuffed some elixirs into his arms.

Fei Qianchi cradled the small boy into his arm, lifting his head up as he pushed the bottle of elixir into the boy's mouth. Although some of the liquid spilt, most was still able to enter his mouth. At once, the damage was noticeably better. The wounds on the child's body began to heal, disappearing.
Fei Qianchi knew that the boy in his arms didn't cultivate, hence he could not pass some of his Qi to him. If the boy had cultivated, Fei Qianchi would be able to easily heal him by passing off some Qi.
At that moment, Fei Qianchi felt the child in his arm start to stir. As the boy opened up his brown eyes, Fei Qianchi was within his view.
The boy tried to talk, but he stopped.
Fei Qianchi didn't mind, he merely smiled.
"You, what is your name?" Fei Qianchi's voice was gentle and soft, trying his hardest to not alert the boy.
The boy opened and closed his mouth, staring at Fei Qianchi with dewy eyes.
"I... I have no name." His voice was very soft, meek as he sat up, pushing his body off of Fei Qianchi.
Fei Qianchi helped the boy get up. "Then, are you willing to follow me?"
The boy furrowed his brows. "Why? Why would you save me? Someone like me...I am unworthy of being saved by you."
Fei Qianchi looked at the boy. Staring at him, Fei Qianchi saw the reflection of himself within this child. Back then, someone had saved him too. Unfortunately, till this day, Fei Qianchi had still not found his benefactor.
"You remind me of myself. And since long ago, I had made a promise to never let another suffer like I had. From now on, you will become my brother, my family. Your name will be Fei Shang from here on." Fei Qianchi smiled faintly, eyes glimmering as he looked at the boy's reaction.
The boy smiled, "Alright then, if that's what you want. Fei Shang, to protect and give..." Fei Shang smiled, looking into Fei Qianchi's eyes.
"I will teach you everything I know. From now on, I will guide and protect you." Fei Qianchi smiled, looking towards the small boy who had tears in his eyes.
"Hah... It's so scary. Obviously, I should be wary of you, yet I can't seem to do so." Fei Shang exasperatedly said as he wiped his red eyes, glancing at the man with white hair.
"My name is Fei Qianchi. I am a cultivator from Fushui Sect." Fei Qianchi introduced himself, not hiding his identity.
"You are a cultivator. It explains everything." Fei Shang patted his ripped clothes.
Seeing this, Fei Qianchi grabbed a new robe from his ring. Looking at the length of the robe that was much too long for Fei Shang, he cut the robe using Baihe. "Here, wear this for now." Fei Qianchi draped the blue robe over Fei Shang's body.
Fei Shang accepted it. "Thank you." Then, covering his body, Fei Shang stood up. "Follow me. There is a small, abandoned shack up ahead, further into the forest." Just as he was about to take a step, his body was grabbed by Fei Qianchi.
"Your body is still a bit weak, I'll carry you." Fei Qianchi held Fei Shang in his arms, the boy was light almost feeling as if he wasn't carrying anyone. "Just point the way out for me." Fei Qianchi smiled, blue eyes shining bright.
Fei Shang nodded, draping his hands around Fei Qianchi's neck to secure himself.

Fei Qianchi could use his power but since he had no idea where the cottage was, he had to depend on Fei Shang. Even though he could use Baihe to move around, he was a bit worried about Fei Shang, hence he walked instead. It didn't take much energy, Fei Qianchi was merely taking a brisk walk, following the directions that Fei Shang pointed out.
Fei Qianchi's arms were wrapped tightly around Fei Shang as he climbed uphill, finally seeing a small shack further ahead of him. The forest around them began to clear as Fei Qianchi entered the shack, opening the doors. The shack was dusty with broken things lingering everywhere. Even so, Fei Qianchi didn't seem to mind as he set Fei Shang down on a worn-down table.
Fei Qianchi noticed Fei Shang starring daggers into him and turning towards him, he asked, "Is there anything you want to ask me?"
Fei Shang looked at Fei Qianchi for a moment before his eyes casted downward, his voice a bit quiet as he asked, "So... are you sure you want me to follow you?"
At this, Fei Qianchi lightly chuckled. His slender fingers carefully parted Fei Shang's long hair as he replied, "Well, do you want to follow me?"
At this, Fei Shang looked down.
Fei Qianchi patiently waited for an answer. While he had saved Fei Shang, the decision was his to make. Fei Qianchi had rushed to save Fei Shang because of himself. Back then, this type of torture was something that he couldn't prevent and in turn, his mother died. He didn't want anyone to go through this pain...
At long last, Fei Shang replied, "I... I want to follow you. I want to become a cultivator like you. I also want to have powers, to be strong." He looked up, eyes showing stubbornness in them, bright and commanding.
Fei Qianchi patted Fei Shang's head. "Then let us stay here for a while. The air in this forest is quite clean, the Qi is also quite abundant. I will prepare some medicinal baths to open up your roots and marrow bones." Fei Qianchi carefully planned everything.
Frankly, Fei Shang's foundation was a little above average. Fei Qianchi would be able to improve his foundation though, so he didn't linger on this for too long. Having decided so, Fei Qianchi looked over Fei Shang's body, grabbing another elixir from his ring.
"Here, drink this. I don't know if your condition is alright yet. I'll check around and clean this place up." Fei Qianchi handed the bottle to Fei Shang as he accepted it. Looking around, Fei Qianchi put Baihe back into his ring as he pulled up his sleeves, ready to start cleaning the place.
With Fei Shang's eyes still following him, Fei Qianchi didn't seem to care as he tidied the small shack. As Fei Qianchi threw away all the broken pieces of wood, he was glad that he had a good amount of cloth and quilts. The bed was a small one so Fei Qianchi didn't bother with it.
Truth be told, picking up Fei Shang was a rash decision. Fei Qianchi was reminded about the man who had saved him thus he didn't hesitate to also do the same for Fei Shang. Not to mention, his past played a huge part.
Fei Qianchi was going to stay here for a while now that he had Fei Shang with him. He was going to teach the boy how to cultivate, to make himself stronger. Thinking this, a spark lit in his eyes. Even the boy's goal was similar to his.
"Uhm, although you allowed me to follow you, won't I be bothering you?" Fei Shang couldn't stand the silence and finally spoke to Fei Qianchi.
Fei Qianchi turned to Fei Shang, sending him a smile as he replied, "No, I'm currently seeking enlightenment. Since you're also here, it doesn't mean much. I'll do my best to help you cultivate and set up your foundation. I have already told my Master that it may be a while before I can return. Don't worry. Since I did allow you to follow me, I will take good care of you. Just think of me as an older brother."
Fei Shang suddenly brought up, "How old are you?"
With that question, Fei Qianchi faltered for a bit. Thinking about it, he was quite old. "Actually, I'm a lot older than I look. I'm currently 56 years old." His hand reached to grab his neck, a touch of embarrassment on his face.
Hearing this, Fei Shang's eyes opened wide. "56?"
Fei Qianchi nodded, raising his brows. "Yes, I'm quite old to be honest. Though, since I am a cultivator, I am considered quite young. Time runs different for cultivators, you will understand once you start to cultivate too."
"When I cultivate like you, will I also become stronger?" Fei Shang looked away, brown eyes hidden from Fei Qianchi's view.
"Yes, you will become much stronger than now. Once you become an immortal, you will also gain immortality. You will not die from sickness, but you can still die from injuries. The road to immortality is quite hard, it takes a lot of time. Knowing this, will you still walk this path?" Fei Qianchi asked. Deep down, these words served as a reminder for himself too.
Fei Shang was quiet for a second. Finally, he clenched his hands as he answered, "Yes, if I can become stronger, then I will do anything."
These words... Fei Qianchi recalled himself. He could see himself within Fei Shang. Back then, he was also like this. Thinking this, Fei Qianchi laughed, "Then I will try my best to help you get stronger." There was a warmth that spread within him as Fei Shang turned to him with eyes full of determination.
Within the shack, a new story began for the both of them.
-
One day, one week, one month, and one year. As time passed by, Fei Shang was growing before Fei Qianchi's eyes.
Fei Qianchi watched as the boy he once saved grew, shedding away the childishness of his past. Fei Shang grew and Fei Qianchi continued to teach him everything he knew, only hoping that Fei Shang would grow stronger like his wish. As time rushed to past them, they were both aging, even as their appearances remained the same.
Fei Qianchi sat by a waterfall. His long hair flowed freely in the wind, the sound of the water was loud. As Fei Qianchi sat in deep meditation, there was a dense layer of Qi surrounding his body. Time had done him no difference, his appearance remained the same.
From further ahead of the stream, a voice shouted, "Qianchi!" A male ran forward. He was dressed in black, with bright brown eyes shining. His Phoenix eyes were beautiful, thin red lips, and a high nose bridge. His skin was a healthy wheat color, long black hair tied up by a ribbon. There was a red sword by his waist with a jade tassel tied onto it.
Fei Qianchi's hands made a circle, his hands pushing outward as the dense Qi surrounding him dissipated. His blue looked up, glancing at Fei Shang who smiled brightly, holding onto a fish.
"I caught the fish!" Fei Shang couldn't help but boast as he ran towards Fei Qianchi, water splashing all over him.
Fei Qianchi raised a brow, standing up and dusting his white robe. What could he do? Fei Shang had grown up, a man with a bright personality.
"Did you already finish your meditation?" Fei Qianchi's eyes narrowed as he asked.
Holding the fish, Fei Shang stopped a few steps before Fei Qianchi as he laughed while dismissing, "I stopped for today. I've hit a bottleneck in my cultivation so I practiced using Dachang instead."
Dachang was the sword that Fei Qianchi gave to Fei Shang, to which Fei Shang had given it its name, Great Prosperity. The sword has been by his side for over ten years now, watching as Fei Shang grew along with it. At 19 years old, Fei Shang had stepped foot into the third layer of Foundation Establishment, proving himself to be talented too. Though his cultivation was slow compared to Fei Qianchi's own cultivation speed, it was quite fast for others.
During these ten years, Fei Qianchi had earnestly taught and guided Fei Shang in his cultivation. Though he hasn't visited Shuihua Peak during this time, he has sent many letters and items using spiritual beasts as messengers. Fei Qianchi was working hard, managing his time as he became used to living in the forest.
Now, he was finally at the second layer of Soul Combination. Though it seemed slow, Fei Qianchi had bursted through at a fast rate. From the ninth layer of Soul Transformation, breaking into the first layer of Soul Combination was a bottleneck that many cultivators experienced.
"Well, it does seem like you've hit a bottleneck." Saying this, Fei Qianchi's eyes narrowed as Fei Shang merely pursed his lips.
"I'll start cooking this fish first, you can continue to meditate." Fei Shang concluded before Fei Qianchi could continue.
Fei Qianchi rolled his eyes, "You just don't want me to lecture you."
Fei Shang shrugged his shoulders, "How could I do such a thing to my older brother?" Yet, even as he said this, he looked over at Fei Qianchi with a grin.
Fei Qianchi shook his head, now used to Fei Shang. Frankly, as the boy grew older, their relationship got closer. Ten years went by so fast, Fei Shang was already grown up now.
"Here, Meiyao sent a letter for you. It seems like she still thinks you are the child you once were." Fei Qianchi took out the letter from his ring, the scroll that was wrapped tightly and even held together by a talisman.
Fei Shang glanced at the fish in his hand that was struggling for its life. Finally, he dropped the fish back into the water as it swam for its life.
Washing his hand in the River, Fei Shang then accepted the letter and read it.
"Well, what did she write to you?" Fei Qianchi asked. Since picking up Fei Shang, he had made sure to tell Tian Sichan and the others. Fei Shang grew to be very popular as everyone clamored to write to him. Even Qi Meiyao couldn't resist writing to him.
"Hmm, Elder Sister Qi said that she is now a cultivator at the first layer of Nascent Soul. She also hopes that you will return to the sect soon." Fei Shang read the letter with furrowed brows.
Hearing this, Fei Qianchi wasn't surprised, merely nodding his head. Qi Meiyao had spoke about this for a while.
From the forest, a loud roar was heard.
Fei Qianchi turned to the forest at this sound.
"Is this a wave of spiritual beasts?" Fei Shang asked, putting away the letter as he also turned towards the forest, hearing a thunderous roar from deep within.
"A wave of beasts... No, there are other footsteps too. It seems like there are a few cultivators in this forest." Fei Qianchi answered. Using his Qi, he discovered a few presences. Their cultivations were below his, hence, Fei Qianchi easily grasped what their cultivation was currently at.
Listening closely, Fei Qianchi concluded, "It seems like they met the Hongniu hornets."
Fei Shang's lips lifted before it came down, he suppressed a laugh. "The hornets? That won't end well for them."
Fei Qianchi shook his head as Baihe appeared within his hand, "The hornets are tricky to deal with. Let's go, we will have to help them."
Though grumbling, Fei Shang still picked up his sword. "Alright..."
