As soon as Fei Shang's voice disappeared, Fei Qianchi opened his eyes. The mirage of a small white fox was seen.

"You are the soul that will be taking over my body." From the fox came a gentle yet bewitching voice, enchanting as if the fox was a siren.

Fei Qianchi realized that he was already in a body and the fox before him was a mere mirage. Still processing Fei Shang's words, he opened his mouth. "I am." It was a gentle and bewitching voice, very similar to the fox.

The fox nodded his head, walking closer to Fei Qianchi. "I am Lu Fengmian, a fox demon. I am a fox who can turn into a human, a creature that is evil in this world. Before I let go of this world completely, I will ask for one thing from you. No matter what, protect my sister. No matter what she does, please save her from the pain she will face." The fox stopped by Fei Qianchi.

"You will get all my memories when I merge with you. From what you will know, I just hope that you won't look upon my sister in a bad light. This world is not in black and white and you will face unimaginable pain. You will take upon my role, become me. You can do as you wish with my body, but you must protect my sister no matter your decision." The fox waited for Fei Qianchi's answer.

Fei Qianchi looked at the fox, already feeling a headache coming. "I understand, I will do as you say."

The fox smiled, "Good. Then please beware, you will await a harsh life ahead. My sister is currently being chased, please arrive quickly after gaining my memories to save her." Saying this, the fox began turning into speckles of light as his body faded, flying towards Fei Qianchi and merging with him.

Fei Qianchi closed his eyes, legs giving out on him as he accepted the memories.

Lu Fengmian was a fox demon, or a Yao. They were foxes, white foxes that held the ability to turn into a human. Fox demon were known as demons that could easily bewitch humans, tricking them into giving up their life forces. They were creatures who were beautiful, alluring and able to trick humans into falling in love with them.

Because of this, fox demons were chased down and killed, for they were creatures that lived longer because of killing other people.

Lu Fengmian did not have a tough life, he had an elder sister, Lu Yingyue who cared for him. Lu Yingyue was old, already over 100 years old, she had lived so long by doing something that almost every fox demon had. Tricking humans into falling for her and taking their life forces. The two were not blood-related, but Lu Yingyue had saved Lu Fengmian after his parents were killed by the humans fifteen years ago.

Lu Fengmian and Lu Yingyue lived in the snowy mountains. Lu Yingyue would usually be gone for a month each year and would return with food and such. Lu Fengmian would await Lu Yingyue's return and during that time, he would stay in his fox form to not alert the people who would come to the mountains.

From what Fei Qianchi was able to understand, Lu Yingyue was once almost killed by a monk and Lu Fengmian had saved her, endangering his life afterwards. Currently, Fei Qianchi knew that he needed to save Lu Yingyue as Lu Fengmian had told him.

Taking in a deep breath, Fei Qianchi stood up. From here on, he was Lu Fengmian.

Lu Fengmian quickly turned into a fox from his memories. He felt his body shift as he landed onto the ground, his body moving right away as he followed the original's instinct. Even in a fox form, Lu Fengmian didn't panic as he carefully took in everything.

Fei Shang had said something that made him confused and now, even this world was so different too. Lu Fengmian didn't know anything other than what he knew from this body, he didn't even know who his lover could possibly be.

But, putting that aside, right now, his task was to protect Lu Yingyue no matter what.

Lu Fengmian kept running, his speed fast and it didn't take long for him to find Lu Yingyue, whose appearance was another white fox running through the snow with another man chasing after her.

Lu Fengmian's size as a white fox was rather big, almost looking like a wolf instead as compared to Lu Yingyue's smaller and more decent sized fox. As such, he didn't think twice before pouncing onto the man, a hunter, and throwing the man away from Lu Yingyue.

Lu Fengmian looked back to make sure that Lu Yingyue was alright before he focused on the man who now stood with bright eyes and an evil smile.

"Another one, and you are even much bigger than the first." The man grabbed his bow and arrow, watching as Lu Fengmian circled around him. "At this point, you're starting to look like fox demons to me."

Lu Fengmian didn't care what the man was saying because those were useless words. He could feel that Lu Yingyue was behind him, her average size looking a bit smaller next to him.

The man smirked as he looked at Lu Fengmian as he released an arrow, to which Lu Fengmian dodged and began running towards the man, his claws slicing through the man's clothes.

The man was fast, dodging as he began to realize what was happening. "You two are fox demons." Saying this, he put down his bow as he watched Lu Fengmian snarl, pulling his lips back to show his canine teeth.

"Then this is my fault. It seems like I have stepped onto the wrong mountain as this seems to be your home." The man backed away from Lu Fengmian, a smile still on his lips. He walked away a few steps as he then said, "I will take my leave, I apologize for what I've done." He began to walk away after this.

Lu Fengmian watched as the man began walking away, shifting in place as he turned to look at Lu Yingyue. As soon as the man could no longer be seen, the both of them changed forms.

"Feng-er, are you alright?" Lu Yingyue asked as she looked up and down to inspect Lu Fengmian. Her beauty was truly eye-capturing.

Lu Fengmian smiled in turn, just like how the original would have, his handsome face held a soft glow to it. He was enchanting and beautiful. "I am, sister. What happened?"

Lu Yingyue turned to look at where the man had left. "It seems like the man came from the palace to capture some foxes to bring back to the new Empress. When I had visited the city, it seemed like there were preparations for a war. The new Empress is supposedly going to be a princess from another nation, an ally during the war."

The two began walking back. Lu Fengmian didn't know much of what was going on since his task this time was different. "Were you safe this time?"

Lu Yingyue's face was gentle and there was a soft light in her eyes for Lu Fengmian. "I was alright this time. Even if they want to kill me, I have been escaping such things for the majority of my life. Not to mention, we demons also have some tricks up our sleeves."

Lu Fengmian maintained his expression, even as he was still a bit turbulent inside over everything that was currently happening. He wasn't even able to take in everything carefully before he was sent away and even Fei Shang's few words were bringing about a huge chaos in his heart.

"Did you feed again?" Lu Fengmian's voice was a bit careful as he asked this.

Lu Yingyue didn't mind though, her hand rubbing against one another as she shook her head. "No, not this time. There were too many taoist monks wondering in Louyang, so I merely stayed for a bit before returning."

The house that belonged to them was in a deep forest, covered in ice and snow, one would easily get lost but the two easily made their way in. Although fox demons normally resided in their fox form, Lu Yingyue preferred staying in human form. It was the form she had used to save and raise Lu Fengmian, hence, if her fox form was not needed, she used her human form.

Fox demons generally had three forms, their fox form, their human form, and their demon form. Their demon form was them in human form but with their claws, fangs, ears and their tails still on their body. Though, a fox demon could also make their claws retract or come out, it was a way to protect them in secret.

"Come in, I have some news to share with you." Lu Yingyue sat down on the chair by their table as Lu Fengmian sat across from her.

Lu Fengmian was relying on his memories for everything and he was able to understand everything now. He just had to be careful and find a way to contact and find Zhu Longwang in this world, he had to be in this world somewhere.

Fox demons didn't feel the cold, so even as there were no fire of sort in the house, Lu Fengmian wasn't able to feel the cold at all.

"Feng-er, I didn't want to say this so soon, but it seems like we will have to return and mix within the humans already." Lu Yingyue's gaze was a bit dazed as she said this, looking down at her hand with a sigh.

Lu Fengmian furrowed his brows, his beautiful eyes more illuminated. "So soon? Is it because of the war, or is it because of the new empress, Empress Hui Yin?"

"It is because of both. Emperor Mo Chou, in order to please Empress Hui Yin, has ordered for a hunt on white foxes. Empress Hui Yin has a preference for the skin, staying here may endanger us. I was going to take you away sooner or later, I just didn't expect for such matters to escalate in Mo Nation." Lu Yingyue looked up to see Lu Fengmian's gentle eyes still looking at her and she smiled lightly.

She had saved Lu Fengmian from being killed by taoist monks, but wasn't able to save his parents. Ever since saving Lu Fengmian, Lu Yingyue had fully loved and protected him even as he grew up to have such a beautiful appearance that could attract all.

As they were fox demons, to keep themselves looking younger and to live longer, they killed humans by taking their life force. Lu Yingyue could go 1-2 years at most if she didn't feed, any longer and she wouldn't be able to keep her human form and turn into her demon form. To keep herself safe, she usually chose those who were wanted for criminal acts.

Lu Fengmian has never done this yet, and he wouldn't need to until he was older. Lu Yingyue didn't want her brother to experience this just yet. Many fox demons went rogue to keep themselves as pretty and young as possible so they killed more and more humans. Lu Yingyue didn't need to do so, for as long as she fed once in a couple years, she would be fine.

"I understand, it's just... I have never met so many humans before in my life. You have raised me here for as long as I can remember." Lu Fengmian smiled as he saw this memory. Lu Yingyue really loved the original soul and the original soul had too.

They were fox demons, because of this, it was in their instincts to kill humans and steal their life force. Lu Fengmian wasn't a saint, to live, he would do what he had to.

Yet, he still felt a strong lingering fear with not know just who Zhu Longwang was or how this world was suppose to progress.

"Let's stay for a few more days before we leave, once leaving, I will have to burn down this house." Lu Yingyue's voice was twinged with some regret as she said this. It was only normal, Lu Fengmian was once so small and she had held him in her arms in this very house.

"Alright then. Sister, I'm going to scout out the area first to make sure that no intruder has come. I feel that something is wrong." Saying this, Lu Fengmian watched as Lu Yingyue nodded before he changed into his fox form and began running back to the area they had previously been.

He really felt that something was telling him to come this way, it was a strong aching in his heart. Since he didn't know what was happening, he followed the voice that told him to come back out.

As Lu Fengmian walked on the snowy mountain, his paws shifting against the snow, he could hear a few voices, the sound of horses stomping on the snow. Lu Fengmian didn't worry, with his ability, he would be able to escape safely. So he walked closer to the snow, his figure almost blending into the snow.

Then, he could hear a voice clearly.

"Hurry, call Nianzhen! The general has been wounded!"

Lu Fengmian felt a rush in his heart...
