"Have you heard? The Ting family has also fallen after their corruptions were revealed by the police. This is the fourth major family that has fallen just like that!"
"Don't you know? All the families that have fallen like this was because they slighted someone that they shouldn't have. I heard that the Young Master of the Chen Corp had a hand in getting rid of all those families."
"Shh, don't speak such words like that. Everyone has their own speculations but they have been silenced shortly after. Just keep in mind not to do anything to that man. Even with a smile he is much smarter and able to bring down anyone he wishes to."
"The Chairman of Chen Corp is also extending his hand into the government too. I heard that he was able to meet the president. The families of Jiibeng are in danger, for the two cousins are both cunning and deadly."
"It was only expected. Each of those families have long history of criminal acts, only no one was able to reveal them for fear that they would be silenced. But now that the Young Master of the Chen Corp has stepped in, everyone is meeting their demise."
"Hah... It seems like Achin will be facing a great awakening."
Wen Zhuhei sat inside of his bedroom, laying on his bed and touching his ring. After what he had done to Chen Shujin, it made him want to linger within his touch more.
It was fine before when he hadn't experienced it, but now that he had, the first taste was the cruel awakening. Wen Zhuhei slowly fell deeper and deeper into this hole, as if he was intoxicated.
Remembering all the things he had made Chen Shujin do, Wen Zhuhei realized that he couldn't do this forever. Especially when Chen Shujin returned to acting like normal, as if nothing had happened since he wouldn't know.
Wen Zhuhei let out a sigh. He couldn't hide forever. He needed to tell Chen Shujin, it would be better than lying to the man, controlling him like he was a mere puppet.
Wen Zhuhei ran a hand through his hair, eyes muddled and dark. He was almost done with his plans for the future of the vampires and the hunters. Sooner or later, he would have to tell Chen Shujin. Wen Zhuhei could tell that Chen Shujin was already able to tell that something was strange too.
After everything was done, then he will finally confront Chen Shujin.
"Your Majesty, the Young Master is different from what we know. He has already taken down four major families and has even destructed the hunter's headquarter. During all of this, he has not told you one thing." Shu Hezhen's eyes narrowed as he said this.
Chen Shujin crossed his hands together, looking at Shu Hezhen with gold piercing eyes. "Go on."
"Shujin, you have given him an artifact. Unless you allow it, you will never fall under the influence of an artifact, you are immune to it. Why are you trying to fool him?" Shu Hezhen declared.
As Chen Shujin heard this, he smiled. "Hezhen, just because I let down my guard, you went through my memories?" As he whispered this, his aura suddenly dropped, murderous intent visible even as his lips lifted into a sneer.
Shu Hezhen's face grew taunt but he didn't back away. "Shujin, he is only 18 years old. At 18 years old, he has already dyed his hand in blood. He has even tried to control you to do such acts."

Chen Shujin lifted his head with a face as cold as ever. "I will take care of him, you shouldn't have to worry about this."
"Shujin, I hope you know what you're doing. He is dangerous, though you may have a soft spot for him, he is making himself a target and the hunters are already onto him."
He knew, but no one will ever be able to harm Wen Zhuhei while he was still alive.
"Shujin." Wen Zhuhei smiled as Chen Shujin walked towards him.
Chen Shujin showed a smile and raised a brow. "Aren't you suppose to be at the company helping Hongxue with some things?" Chen Shujin walked to Wen Zhuhei's side as he suddenly smelt something in the air.
"Did you cook something?" Chen Shujin asked as he smelt something in the air. With his senses raised, he could smell a familiar scent of his favorite dish.
Wen Zhuhei showed a shy smile as he replied, "Today is the day you became the Vampire Lord. I asked Hongxue what some of the things you liked were and the nanny helped me make some of them."
It was then that Chen Shujin remembered what date it was. He smiled, thinking about something else in his head. For some reason, it already felt like they were married.
Dumplings, Chen Shujin had always liked them, especially when he recalled how in the fifth world, Tendou Yagami had made them for him on his birthday.
Wen Zhuhei clasped his hand, trying to restrain his nervousness. There was a bit of fear evident in his eyes as Chen Shujin made his way to the dining room.
Chen Shujin's smile stiffened a bit as Wen Zhuhei walked behind him and he quickly fixed his expression. What was he trying to do? Chen Shujin now noticed what was strange but he didn't do anything. He wanted to see what Wen Zhuhei was planning.
Chen Shujin took a seat on the chair as he looked at the dishes placed in front of him. "Why go through all of the work? We should've just gone to a restaurant..." But even as he said this, there was a hint of joy in his eyes.
Wen Zhuhei sat across from him with a happy expression, even as his eyes betrayed his thoughts. "I wanted to do something special for you. Here, I've been training myself to eat and drink food too so I was able to make the dishes according to your taste." Wen Zhuhei stood up to grab two wine glasses that he had already filled beforehand.
As Wen Zhuhei gave one of the glass to Chen Shujin, he looked at it before his expression settled.
Chen Shujin accepted it, not hesitating to take a gulp from the glass. He watched as Wen Zhuhei's eyes looked down, showing a relax expression on his face once he had took a sip.
If the boy was going to do something, then Chen Shujin will fully act out the play. He wanted to see what Wen Zhuhei was up to.
Not even a second after, Chen Shujin blinked his eyes as he raised a hand to cover his head.
"Shujin?" Wen Zhuhei rushed towards Chen Shujin as the man began to stumble.
"Zhuhei... You." Chen Shujin squeezed out from his teeth as his eyes began to close. There was a strong tone of betrayal in his voice that made Wen Zhuhei flinch as he caught the man in his arm.
Wen Zhuhei watched as Chen Shujin closed his eyes, his body relaxing. He watched on with pain in his eyes, but he didn't do anything.

"I'm sorry, but I promise that after this, everything will be settled between the humans and the vampires."
Wen Zhuhei had to use a bit of strength to carry Chen Shujin onto the sofa nearby. Once done, he lingered by his side for a second before he leaned down, kissing the man gently on his lips. He could've controlled Chen Shujin and made everything easier but he wasn't sure how long his artifact would last on him. Li Yinlui had proposed a separate idea, using a drug that wasn't fatal to the vampires and able to knock them out for a few days.
"I'm sorry, I'll be back soon." As Wen Zhuhei said this, he grabbed his keys and rushed out with one final look towards Chen Shujin.
As soon as the door closed, Chen Shujin opened his golden eyes, a hint of anger was evident within him.
The moment he caught Wen Zhuhei, he was going to make sure that he stayed in bed for a whole week...
"Hongxue, follow him and tell me his location. Tell Hezhen to gather some vampires up as fast as he can. Maybe I've been too lenient on him."
"Young Master." Li Yinlui called out as he watched Wen Zhuhei turn to him, getting out of the car.
Wen Zhuhei looked at Li Yinlui, his face similar to Chen Shujin's, cold and murderous. "Did you do everything?"
"I have. All that's left is for you to give the final words towards the hunter's headquarter. I have already alerted them and they are ready for you to meet them." Li Yinlui stated as he began walking with Wen Zhuhei towards the mansion in front. Walking with them, seven of the members of Aces were also there to protect them if anything went wrong.
Li Yinlui stared at Wen Zhuhei, the young boy who had perfected Chen Shujin's persona. Wen Zhuhei had proposed a plan to meet with the leader of the vampire hunters, something that Chen Shujin had never done.
Li Yinlui knew that this plan was risky, so he had made Wen Zhuhei give a drug to Chen Shujin. Chen Shujin had long hatreds towards the vampire hunters, he would've never allow Wen Zhuhei to step close to them. Wen Zhuhei had hesitated but did what he stated in the end.
Li Yinlui had been planning everything for nearly two weeks now, giving a secret message to the leader of the hunters and making his move as secretive as possible, away from Shu Hezhen's eyes. In a way, this was what he wanted.
Wen Zhuhei walked forward, his gray eyes cold and piercing, almost matching Chen Shujin. He could see that people were waiting for them and he could feel the tension.
As Wen Zhuhei stopped, looking down towards the male in front of him, he stared at him expressionlessly.
Li Yinlui looked at the male, fixing his glasses in wonder yet his aura had gotten menacing. He glanced up at the other people who held a gun at their side, preparing for any signs of danger.
"Are the humans always this unruly or is it just specifically you hunters?" Wen Zhuhei asked, raising his brows just like how Chen Shujin would, even his way of speaking was the same, careless but demanding.
"The Vampire Lord, the leader has stated to bring you within. Please let me guide you." The male seemed to freeze but resumed his act as he bowed and then began to lead them into the mansion.
Wen Zhuhei followed, not minding the eyes that were sent towards him as the hunters looked at them. If anything, the only fear was how Chen Shujin would face him once everything was done.
The man led the nine vampires into a huge room, most likely a room for the meetings of all the leaders and the hunters.
Sitting on chair with some guards behind him, the man with a scar on his face looked up, his eyes meeting Wen Zhuhei's at once.
"Vampire Lord, my name is Qi Wuliao, the leader of the Hus Hunter organization. It is a pleasure to meet the vampire who has been ruling over the vampires for over 5,000 years now." Qi Wuliao smiled, a genuine smile at heart. He was still a young man, though he seemed mature, his features still were a bit young.
"Mr. Qi, I think you understand why I have met up with you, especially after all these years." Wen Zhuhei sat down, not bothering about the stares he got as he looked up with an aloof expression. Li Yinlui stood behind him, guarding him.
"I do, and I know fully well. But, what's been written down seems so easy to do, but in person, there are still many who wish to have nothing to do with the vampires. Just like how many of the vampires hate the humans, we still have many who want to get rid of the vampires." Saying this, Qi Wuliao beckoned a hand towards a woman standing by the door as she brought out a document.
Wen Zhuhei suddenly froze, feeling a pair of eyes on him but as he turned, he saw no one. He relaxed himself as Qi Wuliao grabbed the documents.
"Frankly, I have been wanting to end this war since long ago. As we continue, only more and more people will be killed, Achin can't afford to be losing lives. I am glad that you have finally meet up with me. While my father was a spiteful man who hated and killed many vampires, I am nothing like him." Qi Wuliao laid out the documents, there was a look of relief in his eyes.
"With this, I hope that we will be able to end this spiteful war that has been lasting for hundreds of years now."
Behind Wen Zhuhei, a pair of eyes had gotten cold and calculative, a smile on his lips as he watched their interaction.

"Then save him! You at least owe me this much for what you have done to both me and him."
"Another god has fallen... the Heaven will not be peaceful..."
"Forgive me, for all the evil I have done. Killing so many people, betraying you and pushing you away. Shall we ever meet in the next life, I will await our future then. A future where I am not blinded to the truth, where I am not so naive like the past."
"Only when one lets their heart free and unbounded, only then will they be able to face the truth they have hidden. I too, have not yet faced who I really am. Immortal, just like me, you have also been hiding the truth you have long known of. Today, I come in peace. But in the future, maybe all will change. I wish you well and success, but I will still stand by his side."
"I have already spent hundreds of years like this, with no one by my side to help me, with everyone betraying me and leaving me to die. The world is cruel, for if it wasn't, so many people wouldn't be like me. This path that I've chosen... only I will understand that this was the final step."
"Fei Shang, no one is to blame. If anything, the blame is my own."
"What good is it if you live? You have killed so many, even Baicheng can't compare to you. At least he didn't kill those who loved him, he merely killed those who tried to kill him in turn. But you? You killed everyone who wanted to protect you, those who truly loved you. At this point, shouldn't you atone for your sins?"
"Brother, I love him. Good or evil, I know him best. I will save him, I will stop at nothing to make sure he is safe. If good and evil is decided by humans, then the heavens must truly be blinded. I will give my life in exchange for his."

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!
