"Your Majesty, word of your return has already gone wild. Everyone knows that you brought a Young Master to be the next successor. Knowing this, you will spare nothing to make sure that he is treated to the best he could possibly be. As one of your companion that's been by your side for the longest, I will spare nothing to protect the Young Master." Lu Hongxue said with a serious tone, eyes filled with determination.
Chen Shujin took in her words. "I will allow you to do so, but you must remember your duties."
"Of course, Your Majesty," There was a smile on her face that showed off her fangs as Lu Hongxue bowed one more time. "Then I will take my leave first, Your Majesty. Your return has been long anticipated by Aces." Lu Hongxue's eyes flashed as she watched Chen Shujin leave with that.
Chen Shujin's eyes flickered in thought as his tongue flicked over his fang, a habit that he was finding hard to break out of. If everything were to go to plan, it would be best to send Wen Zhuhei away as soon as possible. While he knew that the man would be his lover later, he was still underage right now.
Chen Shujin had made sure Chen Xueyi made note of everything he had instructed. He wasn't in a hurry right now. Sooner or later, the vampire hunters and the humans would be trying their best to take him down and kill him off. While Chen Shujin should have mercy on them as he was a human in the first place, truth be told, humans weren't really a good species. Not to diss anyone, he was just putting that out there.
But, as Chen Shujin thought about how things were going to progress from now, a scheming smirk appeared on his lips. He really felt like a villain...
"Shujin?" Wen Zhuhei's voice called out as he knocked upon the man's door. Though only one week had passed his whole being seemingly changed. There was now a strong air from him as if to showcase his identity.
Chen Shujin glanced at the door as his hand ruffled with his hair. Raising a brow, he merely walked over to the door and glanced down at the younger male. One week went by, Wen Zhuhei's love meter was flying off the grid. It was more of a familiarity love, at least for now, the boy thought so. 45%, without doing anything, Chen Shujin was watching his mission be completed just like that.
"What?" Chen Shujin's gold eyes looked down at Wen Zhuhei, it could almost be mistaken that he disliked Wen Zhuhei. But, Wen Zhuhei understood that it was just Chen Shujin's habit.
Wen Zhuhei showed a beautiful smile as he replied, "Xueyi told you to come meet with the Third and Fourth Lord about the vampire hunters."
Chen Shujin looked down at Wen Zhuhei, rather than that, it was peering to see why.
Wen Zhuhei understood right away and said, "They wanted to have your thoughts about what to do with the situation. Xueyi also had some other things to speak about."
Chen Shujin finally nodded, "Alright, go and tell them that I'll be ready soon. And also, make sure you drink your blood, your eyes having been getting a bit red these days."
Wen Zhuhei merely nodded his head at Chen Shujin's words as Chen Shujin finally closed the door. Wen Zhuhei left as soon as Chen Shujin closed the door, there was a light smile on his lips that showed a joy in his eyes that lit them up.

Just one week had passed, but to Wen Zhuhei, it felt like he had experienced a whole lifetime within that time. Chen Shujin had changed his whole life for the better, and the two also grew closer. Wen Zhuhei was understanding more about Chen Shujin's character, about the man who could be evil at times yet also a bit awkward.
It was a life-changer, everything that had happened. Especially when Chen Shujin introduced Lu Hongxue to him, the woman who was going to be his knight from now. But, one thing he dreaded most was also coming. The time for him to leave for the academy, when he would have to leave Chen Shujin's side for who knew how long. Wen Zhuhei didn't want that.
And he stopped himself because his feelings were in a whole mess and a disarray. His heart was out of control now, and he shouldn't be like this...
Chen Shujin had dressed himself in a white suit, fixing the cuffs of his sleeve as he opened the door and began walking towards the meeting room where everyone should be in. His steps were slow, not in a rush as he walked at a leisure pace. The manor was quiet for the most part, only a few servants and knights walking by now and then.
A guard who stood at the door looked at Chen Shujin as he bowed before opening the door.
As the door opened, Chen Shujin tilted his head, his eyes in a slight glare as they narrowed, "I heard that you all had something to speak about?"
Everyone turned to him as they heard his voice. Wen Zhuhei was already seated next to Chen Shujin's right side while Chen Xueyi was seated to his left. Ran Shifei and Ti Mianzhong were seated further away around the circular table. Chen Shujin took his seat as he waved for them to begin.
"Your Majesty, the vampire hunters have proclaimed to kill all vampires, no matter who it is. They have directly stepped on our heads and our kindness. If wanted, we could easily kill those humans and take over their land, yet they have the guts to threaten us." Ran Shifei announced in anger. Though not the strongest, she was still the oldest vampire, hence there was still great power she held such as knowledge.
Chen Shujin held his chin in thought. "Mianzhong, your thoughts?"
Ti Mianzhong showed a sneer at this, "My thoughts? Just kill them all, Your Majesty. Those puny humans do more harm than good. Wipe them out and I bet you that the world will finally heal from their destruction."
Chen Shujin showed a smile at that but he also turned to Chen Xueyi.
Chen Xueyi knew that his brother was asking for his opinion. "From what I've found out, ever since your return was announced, tensions have been running high in the human cities, especially those with many vampire hunters. Since they have already sent out such words, then it is only proper courtesy of us to return the same. This was our land before they ran wild on it."
Chen Shujin heard those and nodded his head as his fingers gently tapped his armrest, the sound echoing in the room. His eyes turned to Wen Zhuhei who had been silent and asked, "Do you have any other ideas?"
Wen Zhuhei wasn't surprised that Chen Shujin had asked for his opinion too, the vampire had been doing that for a while now. "I agree with whatever action you choose to follow with."

Hearing this, Chen Shujin's lips rose up into a smirk as he shifted his body so that his hands leaned on top of the table. "Mianzhong, Shifei, I give you two full control to deal with this situation as you wish. But, don't kill the innocent people, kill only those who are criminals and the corrupted officials. Pretty soon, I expect the humans to start siding with us." There was a strong glint of mirth in his eyes.
The evil light within Ti Mianzhong's eyes got brighter as he looked at Ran Shifei who nodded her head. "Understood, Your Majesty."
Chen Shujin then turned to Chen Xueyi as he said, "Do you have anything else to add?"
Chen Xueyi didn't show anything on his face as he replied, "No, I understand what you are trying to do. By killing criminals and the corrupted officials, many humans will stand by us when the vampire hunters try to get the humans to turn against us. After all, the two things that many humans have been upset about is the corrupted government and all the criminals who walk free with a light punishment."
Chen Shujin didn't make any reaction at that, but he looked around at everyone as he finally clapped his hands together. "Alright then, that matter will be settle for today. Shifei, your role is to send a message out to all our spies. After you've done that, I will send Zhouqi to bring some of his vampires and help you infiltrate into the government. Mianzhong, do whatever you want and mess around with the vampire hunter's headquarters."
"Yes, Your Majesty." Ran Shifei and Ti Mianzhong hid a glint in their eyes as they fully knew what Chen Shujin was trying to do.
"You two, leave first. I need to speak with Xueyi." Chen Shujin didn't hesitate as he dismissed the two. They merely walked away with that as they hurried to begin the tasks they had been given.
"Have you already settled everything I told you to?" Chen Shujin leaned back into his chair as he looked at Chen Xueyi. From the corner of his eye, he saw how Wen Zhuhei seemingly stiffened a bit but he didn't say anything.
Chen Xueyi nodded, "Everything has been ready since a few days ago. I was just waiting since you seemed a bit reluctant to let him go so soon."
Wen Zhuhei's ears perked with this. He had a feeling he knew what was about to happen and he didn't like it. There was an emotion deep within him that told him that something was really going to change.
Chen Shujin looked at Wen Zhuhei like he wanted to say something but the words got caught in his throat. How could he say anything when Wen Zhuhei was making that type of face?
Chen Shujin looked at Wen Zhuhei but he didn't say a word because he knew that Wen Zhuhei wouldn't want to leave so soon. And Chen Shujin wasn't going to be able to hold his wall.
Wen Zhuhei didn't look up even as he felt Chen Shujin's glance towards him, he merely lowered his head as he clenched his fist.
Chen Xueyi raised a brow at the tension that was in the air even as it remained so silent. He looked at his brother's actions that seemed as cold as before, as arrogant as before yet there was a softness within his expression that made Chen Xueyi tense for some reason. Then, he heard Chen Shujin sigh.
"Xueyi, tell him."
Just like that, the man stood up from his chair and walked away without another word. His footsteps were piercing in the room as the doors banged heavily with his exit.
Wen Zhuhei looked up towards Chen Shujin, the man who had left without another word. He knew that Chen Shujin wasn't comfortable telling him what he needed to do, and so Wen Zhuhei didn't hold it against him. Instead, he raised his gray eyes to look at Chen Xueyi.
"It is time for me to leave." It wasn't a question, it was something he was sure of. Wen Zhuhei wasn't angry, but he was a bit reluctant to leave when he knew that Chen Shujin was also opening up now.
Chen Xueyi heard the boy's voice, a voice that was still soft. He held back a sigh as he said, "It is time for you to leave. It will be better for you to leave at this time."
"But why?"
Hearing his question, Chen Xueyi didn't know how to put his words. "His role is hefty. With you remaining here any longer, he will be distracted too. It is also time for you to attend the academy. If anything is to happen to him, you being here will not help him. You are too young and still do not know how to handle such matters. Unless you can prove that him bringing you here was not a mistake, until then, you must work towards it."
Hearing this, Wen Zhuhei bit his tongue but he also knew that it was the truth. Right now, he had no power to help Chen Shujin, for now he was just going to be a burden. "How long will I be gone?"
Chen Xueyi sighed at this. "Until you are recognized by all your peers, until you have proven that you can become the successor, until then, you will have to stay there."
Wen Zhuhei didn't know how long that would be because it would be determined by how much he worked for it. He didn't know how long, how much time would passed but he didn't fight against it. If he didn't go, he would be of no worth to Chen Shujin, he wouldn't be able to help him.
"Then, let's leave tonight. I will pack my bags..."

"I killed my own brother for this seat. I killed his wife and I didn't even spare my own nephew. It doesn't matter who I sacrifice so long as no one will be able to threaten my position. With this one move, I will be getting rid of all those who are too powerful."
"Elder Zhu Luishui, for helping Disciple Fei Qianchi kill Elder Tian Sichan, you will be sent to the Evernight Prison."
"Meiyao died! You killed the woman I was going to marry, stabbed a sword through her heart! How do you want me to forgive you when you killed the woman I loved most? How do I just pretend as if she hasn't left me because of you?!"
"I didn't even have to do anything before that man took matters into his hand. Of course, he killed my father and mother just like that, he wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice others."
