Wen Zhuhei followed after Chen Shujin as they entered a luxurious car, unable to help but fidget with himself.
As the two sat in the back, Wen Zhuhei glanced at Chen Shujin quickly before looking back down at his hands, his wrist slightly red from the chains.
Chen Shujin merely raised his brow, a smirk on his lips as he looked at the younger boy. "Do you have anything you want to ask?"
Wen Zhuhei heard this question and couldn't help but finally reply, "Your Majesty, why me?" Why him? There was absolutely no reason he was better than anyone else in the auction.
"Why did I choose you?" Chen Shujin repeated as the boy glanced up at him, his big gray eyes shining with a small glare of light. "Just because you don't look like someone who will betray me easily."
Wen Zhuhei didn't know what to say to that, but he clenched his fist tightly. To anyone else, this would be the greatest honor anyone could receive, but to Wen Zhuhei, he felt unworthy of such a thing.
Chen Shujin didn't know what Wen Zhuhei was thinking about but he had a feeling that if he found out, he wouldn't like it.
"Didn't think too much about it... If I hadn't took you with me, that other vampire would've taken you instead. I've just recently woke up, there is still much that I don't know about and I'll need someone I can trust. You're still young, at this age, you should be able to follow me and learn about the vampires." Chen Shujin said as the boy bit his lips.
Wen Zhuhei only got more anxious with that. "Your Majesty, I am a half-blood, there are many pure-blood vampires out there that would be able to able to help you even more than I can."
"You really like to refute me, don't you?" Chen Shujin suddenly brought up, his eyes narrowing towards Wen Zhuhei as he clicked his tongue.
Wen Zhuhei held back his words at that. His eyes reddened a bit as he looked away from the vampire that stared at him. He knew that Chen Shujin meant no harm and wasn't threatening towards him, but there were still many questions he kept thinking about.
After all, Wen Zhuhei was someone who could never reach the height that Chen Shujin had. He was a half-blood, someone unwanted by his own parents. That was why when his parents brought him here, he willingly went without any other words.
And yet, Chen Shujin was bringing him back. He, who ruled over all vampires, was bringing Wen Zhuhei back and even allowing him to live with him.
Chen Shujin watched as Wen Zhuhei quieted down. Well, at least he wasn't belittling himself anymore and had calmed down. Chen Shujin didn't know much about Wen Zhuhei's background but he somehow knew that Wen Zhuhei's past wasn't the best, else he wouldn't be doubting and saying such things about himself.
"Just know that you're my person now. After all, you were chosen by me. Under me, you will never be harmed nor will others disrespect you." Chen Shujin looked away as he said this, avoiding Wen Zhuhei's eyes and looking outside the window instead.

Chen Shujin didn't know how to treat people so kindly. He didn't know how to treat Wen Zhuhei, especially with his character now.
Wen Zhuhei could see how Chen Shujin seemed a bit awkward as he tried to console him and he couldn't help but show a shy smile as the man looked away. Today was the first time someone had ever said such words to him, and it even came from someone like Chen Shujin.

Chen Shujin could feel Wen Zhuhei's glance towards him and he finally asked, "What's your name?"
"Wen Zhuhei, to dwell in secret." Wen Zhuhei replied, a light smile on his lips. "What about you, Your Majesty?"
"Chen Shujin, to regard as gold." Chen Shujin replied, "Though most people now refer to me as other names and titles." Pausing in his sentence, he looked at Wen Zhuhei and said. "How much do you know about me?"
Wen Zhuhei stared at the man who still retained some of his undeniable fearful glances even as he tried to soften his appearance. The smile on Wen Zhuhei's lips only widened as he replied, "A lot. Ever since you entered your slumber five hundred years ago, many spoke about you. Although many of the newer vampire have begun to mix with the humans, hence some have forgotten your face."
"I see," Chen Shujin muttered. Then, with a light smirk, he looked out to see that they had arrived already.
The car stopped as his door was opened up by a vampire who had come out to meet them, "Your Majesty, the Highest Lord, welcome back. Everything has been readied like what the Second Lord has ordered. Please come in." He was Xi Sufei, one of the vampires turned by the past soul. He was one of the oldest vampires by Chen Shujin's side, nearing the age of 4,000 years old.
"Sufei, this is Wen Zhuhei. Treat him as you treat me, make sure to tell everyone. Anyone who does not do as I have said will face their punishment." Chen Shujin ordered, his gold eyes filled with a fierce light.
Xi Sufei bowed as he replied, "Understood, Your Majesty. Please allow me to lead you in."
Wen Zhuhei stood, awestruck by the mansion before him, especially the way Chen Shujin seemingly changed. It was now that Chen Shujin seemed to have took upon his identity and really became the man everyone feared.
Chen Shujin turned back towards Wen Zhuhei as he said, "This is Xi Sufei, if you should ever need anything and I am not there, he will follow everything you say. Make sure you follow me closely, the mansion is a bit big."
Wen Zhuhei really didn't understand why Chen Shujin was giving him so much power. In a matter of minutes, his status had rose so fast to something he would've never been able to even think about. Why was Chen Shujin giving him so much when they barely knew each other?

But regardless of that, he continued to follow Chen Shujin and Xi Sufei as they led him around the huge house. His palms were sweating now, his heart nervous and a bit shaky as he thought about everything that had happened today. If this was a dream, he didn't want to wake from it. Not when there was someone who was treating him like this.
[Male lead's love percentage is at 14%.]
"Your Majesty, how should I address your guest?" Xi Sufei asked as they neared the end of their tour.
Chen Shujin sent a look towards Wen Zhuhei as he said, "Just call him the Young Master. I plan to take him in as my next successor."
Wen Zhuhei's eyes widened. Next successor? Was this some type of cruel joke or what?
"Your Majesty!" Wen Zhuhei couldn't help but interrupt. How could someone like him become the next successor. Chen Shujin didn't even know him well enough, how could he trust him so?
Chen Shujin raised his brow at Wen Zhuhei's rather shocked shout. "Surprised, right? It's fine, although I have such thoughts, I still need to see how things will work out when I begin training you."
Xi Sufei noticed that Chen Shujin seemingly had some private matters to speak about thus he excused himself. "I will excuse myself, Your Majesty and Young Master." And without looking back, he turned away.
Wen Zhuhei didn't like how he was suddenly turned into this young master without having done anything. All of a sudden, he was planned to become the next successor without even knowing anything about why this was happening
"Your Majesty, I am unworthy of what you're blessing upon me. I don't know why you are treating me with such kindness but I am unworthy of such a heavy title. I am a mere half-blood, I don't carry your blood. I am a mere nobody." Wen Zhuhei declared, his eyes resolute and strong with determination.
Chen Shujin stared at Wen Zhuhei strong and long before his lips widened to a grin. "I like you. Most would've been skeptical about what I was doing but they still would've accepted it nonetheless. You though, declined it without thought. I understand what you're trying to say, but, you've proven to me that you will be a great successor."
"Your Majesty, I-"
"But, you shouldn't have to worry about such matters yet until I enter eternal slumber. Until then, focus on growing. Once I say something, I never take it back. Don't worry, just focus on yourself for now." But Chen Shujin really meant what he said. His goal was to live with Wen Zhuhei until the end, he wouldn't be entering eternal slumber so soon.
Eternal slumber was often referred to as a vampire's final 'death' in a way. Since vampires were already 'dead', eternal slumber was when they never awaken ever again.
Wen Zhuhei bit his tongue as he looked down, not knowing what to say to the man before him who seemed resolute in his answer. He couldn't understand why Chen Shujin was saying such words to someone he barely knew, why he could trust someone like him.
"I understand, Your Majesty." Wen Zhuhei finally answered at last. If Chen Shujin was willing to trust him so much, then Wen Zhuhei would do everything to live up to that expectation.
"Good. Follow me, I'll lead you to your room." Now that Wen Zhuhei had finally given up, Chen Shujin finally began moving as they climbed up the stairs towards the third floor.
Wen Zhuhei followed after in silence, even as they continued walking. He didn't how to react right now. He could tell that Chen Shujin was serious about everything, but he couldn't understand how the man was unwilling to retract his words. Wen Zhuhei didn't feel worthy enough to be given such treatment by the strongest vampire that many didn't dare to slight.
Chen Shujin had a thought. He had a feeling that this world was going to be a bit different just because Wen Zhuhei in this world seemed a bit different compared to all the worlds before.
Chen Shujin led Wen Zhuhei to a bedroom next to his and opened the doors to reveal a magnificent room that would look like it belonged to a young master.
Inside the room was a large bed that could fit a family of 8 on it. There was a large counter with a walk-in closet next to a bathroom that also held a spa in it. Inside, there was also a desk with a lamp and a chair. Wen Zhuhei looked at it in awe.
"This will be your bedroom. My bedroom is next to your's so if you need anything, don't hesitate to come over. There should be some clothes already prepared by Sufei for a boy around your age. Everything should have already been prepared and readied." Chen Shujin said as he turned on the lights and pointed out some things.
"This... Thank you." This was the only thing Wen Zhuhei could say as he faced everything. He was really thankful, in all his life, he had never been treated like this before.
"Go clean and freshen yourself up. I'll give you some time first before I come get you so we can speak of some matters with the other lords." Chen Shujin said as he watched Wen Zhuhei step in and closed the door.
Chen Shujin walked in his own room as he closed the door. Staring ahead, he held his cheeks as a big smile appeared on his lips. A young version of Wen Zhuhei was undoubtedly still cute and good-looking. Especially the way he acted.
What Chen Shujin didn't like though, was that Wen Zhuhei kept speaking ill of himself. That was one of the things Chen Shujin would have to fix about Wen Zhuhei since with him here now, Wen Zhuhei would be able to become as strong as himself if not, even stronger.
