Monday
First day of school.
"Why did you leave yesterday? We didn't get to watch a movie" I intertwined my fingers with his as we entered through the doors of school.
"Chance was freaking out over something" he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Is he okay?" I asked him more seriously.
"Yeah, he's fine now, he's with Maddy" he glanced behind us.
I looked in the direction and saw Maddy and Chance holding hands while talking to each other.
"Aww" I smiled.
I pulled my schedule out.
"Ugh, what do you have?" I asked.
"Let's see," he pulled his folded schedule from his back pocket of his jeans, "I have... U.S. History"
"Me too!" I smiled at him.
"Are they dating?" Naomi sneered as she looked at me disgusted which immediately ruined my mood.
"I think so, so Maisie, did you purposely get knocked up to be with him?" Her friend asked.
"No she didn't, but we all know you guys tried to" Madison stepped in front of me.
"As if" Naomi scoffed.
They stood there looking at us.
"Well, are you guys going to leave or am I going to have to get suspended" Madison copied Naomi.
"What?" Naomi's friend asked confused.
"Are you going to leave or am I going to have to rip those Walmart extensions out of your ratty hair?" Madison asked politely.
Naomi rolled her eye but left.
"Walmart extensions?" I laughed.
"Yeah, it was the only thing I could come with on the spot" she laughed as she wrapped an arm around my shoulder and continued to walk.
Darren fell behind with Chance as they talked.
"Class?" She asked.
"U.S. history"
"I have English" she pouted.
"Lucky" I groaned.
"You know I'm still surprised you love English" she stopped and looked straight at me.

"It's fun, and I love reading the books in classic literature"
She stared blankly at me, "Nerd"
I shoved her making her knock over a sophomore girl who glared at us.
I laughed as soon as that girl was out of range.
"If you weren't pregnant I would've pushed you into that trash can" she pointed to a black garbage can the janitor was pushing in the other direction.
I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, I'm going to class"
I looked at the room number.
E243.
I looked around and couldn't find Darren anywhere.
I sighed and continued to walk up the steps slowly. When I got to the second floor I started to look for pod E.
I walked down the long wide hallway and looked for E.
When I found it I entered and started looking for the room number. When i found it, only a couple people were seated. I took the seat in second to last row.
A couple more minutes passed, more and more students started coming inside.
The bell rang and of course Darren was late. Darren took the a desk in the back corner.
I was a little sad we couldn't sit next to each other.
Lastly Naomi came into our class and scanned the crowd.
She smirked at me and Darren. She sat a couple seats in front of me.
This is going to be a long semester.

When we got to lunch, we received a lot of stares, especially me.
I sat down with my tray awkwardly as a group of senior girls were staring at us.
"You ever seen a couple before?" Madison snapped. They quickly returned to their conversation.
I looked across at Darren, "Why were you late? And where did you go this morning?" I quietly asked.
He shrugged his shoulders.
I just nodded. Why was he acting like that?
"I went to get an application for the school daycare and talk to them" he handed me the papers.
I smiled, "thank you"
He nodded and ate his nachos.
