《Me, Myself, & My Babies》23

The beginning of August is here, which means a lot of things.
One of those things is shopping for school. My mom got me more baby stuff like bottles, formula, and a lot of baby clothes.
It's also marked a little over two months since Darren and I have been dating. He said he had something special for me, but I dont know what that would be.
The scariest thing of all, my due date was getting closer and closer.
I couldn't do much, I couldn't even see my feet which made Madison laugh.
I could also feel them kick around. They were most active whenever Darren was around and when he would talk.
Daniel would also ask about the babies, but nothing changed of how he acted.
I waddled downstairs to get something to eat.
"Nerd" Daniel walked in all sweaty with Sully following behind. The basketball dropped from his hands and bounced away.
I rolled my eyes as I walked into the kitchen.
I sat at the table with my mom as she was filling out a piece of paper.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Filling out paperwork"
I nodded as I heard the front door open.
"Chance! Stop stepping on the back of my shoes" I heard Madison yell in frustration.
"Maybe if you walked faster!" He sassed back.
Darren rounded the corner into the kitchen and started smiling when he saw me.
The babies were kicking more now that he's here.
He kissed my forehead and sat down.
"Mase, I got your school supplies" Madison sat a bag down in front of me.
A notebook and pens.
"Thanks" I smiled.
"So when are you due?" She asked.
"Sometime next month"
"Smart Alec, I mean the date" she rolled her eyes.
"September second" i told her as her smile grew bigger.

"Gender?" She smiled.
"I want it to be a surprise"
We sat there in silence for a little listening to my mom ruffle through papers.
"Let's go for a cruise!" Madison suggested.
"Who's car?" I asked.
"Mine?" Chase questioned.
We all nodded. I changed into a dress, because it was the easiest thing to put on and stepped into flip flops.
Darren grabbed my hand as we stepped out into the hot weather. My other hand was resting on my stomach as the babies kicked.
We got into Chase's Jeep. I had trouble getting in, but I still got in.
We drove along the rode by the beaches, a busy downtown, and then ended it with driving on the skyline we had.
We parked at a look out and got out.
The view was amazing.
You could see the beach and the people looked like ants.
The wind was calm and felt good on my skin.
Darren intertwined our hands. I looked over at him and saw him smiling at the sunset. I smiled too.
I had a warm fuzzy feeling inside me that made me feel happy.
I automatically put my other hand on my stomach to feel the babies kicking.
"Are they kicking?" Darren softly asked.
"Yes, yes they are" I looked up at him.
I gently grabbed his hand and set it on my pregnant belly.
The babies kicked again as I looked at him.
He was smiling in awe as he looked up at me.
"Wow" he breathed out.
"I know, it's crazy right?"
I thought about him. About us. When we have our babies.
I was constantly thinking about the babies. Will they be girls? Or boys?
"Have you thought of names?" He asked as he took his hand off my belly.

"No, but it'd be cool to name them after literary characters" i quickly explained.
"Seriously? After book characters?" He chuckled.
"Well, of course!" I laughed.
"What about last names?" He asked more seriously.
"I dont know... I guess we'll figure it out when the time comes"
He stared at me for a long time before looking away with a smile.
"What?" I asked him.
"Nothing" he stared out at the ocean trying to hide his smile.
"No, tell me" I groaned.
"It's nothing" he smiled even more.
"Whatever" i rolled my eyes.
We spent a couple more minutes in silence with the hot sun making me sweat.
"This would've been way more romantic if the was sun setting" I laughed.
I unlocked my fingers from Darren's and opened the door abruptly.
"No way!" I smiled.
Madison and Chase were kissing in the backseat.
Madison looked at me with wide eyes.
"We were just-"
"Making out?" I laughed and shut the door.
I hopped in the passenger seat. I felt relief as the AC in the Jeep was on.
Darren got in the drivers side and slowly drove the car out from the lookout.
"Where to now?" He asked.
"Let's go home, it's too hot for me" I sighed.
