《Toxic》Whole Lotta Questions

-From Joker's POV-

It's not that I didn't trust Y/n to fuck this up, but a small voice in the back of my head said I don't trust her to not fuck this up. So I had Scotty bring the car and we were going to follow her. Granted, she already had a head start, but her license plate was customized with "DOLLFACE" (courtesy of me of course) and it was a black Tesla roadster. It wouldn't be that hard to spot. Plus, I already knew the general direction she was heading for the gig.

I stepped into the driver's side and Scotty sat in the passenger, reloading the guns that I kept in there at all times. We drove out to the neighborhood that the target lived in and drove around the outskirts, not wanting to get too much attention. Sure enough, Y/n's car was parked down on the street in front of the house. I watched closely as she stepped out of the car and slid her sunglasses on as she made her way to the house. She pounded a couple times on the door and then it opened and she pulled the guns she had on either of her sides and began shooting. She had put silencers on them before she left, so I couldn't really hear the shots, but they were quick and I could tell they were precise. Not even 45 seconds later, she tucks the guns back in the holster and steps into the Tesla. I watch as it comes to life and she starts to pull off. I nod my head and then start getting ready to pull off when I hear a heavy thud on the roof of the car. I growl at the thought of there being a giant dent in my prized purple Lambo, but as I step out I realize I have other things to worry about. I look up and start cackling. "Batsy! I missed you so much!" I say. He stares back at me as he rises to his feet.

"What's a low life like you doing here? Collecting a debt??" he grumbles out.

"A boy can't come to visit his best playmate every once in awhile?" I push out with a chuckle before he jumps from the roof so he is now on the ground in front of me. He swings and I lean back, laughing more at his missed attempt. I jabbed him twice in the stomach, causing him to stumble back, but that little bat has quite the fight in him so he rebounded quickly and landed a few punches to my face. After the punches, I returned a few but he finished with a kick to my legs, knocking me to the ground. Why was I so distracted?? I lay on the hard ground, a thick coat of blood and spit coating my grill but laughs still pouring out of my twisted smile. "C'mon B, you beat me up and you don't even know what I'm doing!" I tease.

"Then tell me what you were doing." he demands.

"Mm? What was that? You beat up an innocent man?" I tease again.

"You are anything but innocent." he says in an annoyed tone.

"Well if I wasn't doing anything, that makes me innocent, does it not?? Mmm? I think it does." I laugh again and this time it pisses him off to the point that he punches me again.

"Tell me what you were doing!" he yells. Before I can even answer, another voice appears from behind him.

"I want to know the same thing." before the Bat even turns around, he falls face down on the ground as a foot swipes out his legs. I start smiling even more at the site: Y/n was standing behind him, over his body, very clearly pissed off. He let out some groans and she jumped on his back. Both feet. He let out more groans of pain and a few cracks from his back come out. She then kneels down, one knee on his back and one foot on the ground and leans down to whisper to him.

"Missed you!" she then grabs the back of his head and slams it to the ground, causing his nose to start bleeding and earning a few more groans from him. She quickly stands up and walks over to me, stretching out her hand, I grab it and come to my feet. "Get in the car you moron." she says as she starts walking back to her car. I tap the roof of my car to let Scotty know he's on his own and make my way to her car. I step in and she starts driving off right away. There was silence for a moment until I decide to break it.

"I see you're well trained. I finally got to see you in action!!" I squeal out.

"You followed me to know that?" she says annoyed. I give a slight frown at her annoyance and her ignorance of my compliment.

"You've seen me in action before. I've literally fought you and got him off our tails before." she spits out. "I'm a Zsazs, a Zsazs, if anyone here is trained it's me. " she says as she keeps her eyes on the road. "God you piss me off sometimes. Why can't you just-" she stops in her sentence.

"Why can't I what, doll?" I say in a low and serious tone.

"Never mind it. You would never do it anyways." she says as she starts chuckling lowly to herself.

"On the contrary. I would do anything you asked, doll face." I say with a small grin.

"Except trust me." she snaps back. The rest of the ride home is quiet as I think about her words and lightly frown at them. Does she really think I don't trust her? What would make her think that? Moments start flashing through my mind of the past few days that she's been at the house.

When I got mad at her for showing up to the club and dancing.

When I got mad at her for renegotiating this deal.

When I got mad at her for not answering her phone.

When I got mad at her for coming home late.

Oh doll face, you might have a point. Right as the epiphany hits, she pulls into the driveway. She puts the car into park and steps out of the car, not saying a word. She storms into the house and I make my way out of the car and into the house. I hear a loud door slam and know already that it was the door to Y/n's room. I stroll into my office, closing the door behind me and make myself a drink before sitting down with it at my desk. She thinks I don't trust her. She just wants me to have faith in her.

The dancing at the club. The deal renegotiation. The not answering her phone. The coming home late. The dancing at the club.

The dancing at the club.

Why was I mad at her for that? That has nothing to do with trust, yet her dancing at the club and getting the attention of all of my colleagues made me want to shoot every single one of them between the eyes.

Why?

Why.

Why was I like this?

Doll face, why was I like this? You're perfect. My perfect sociopathic assassin. And I was like this.

Doll face, what were you doing to me?
