《delivery girl》Ch.65

(Y/N) was rifling through the trunk of her car, her ringing phone squished between her shoulder and her cheek as she tossed aside weapons, ropes, etc. in her search for... whatever she was looking for.

She bent over to look deeper in the trunk, gritting her teeth when she heard a honk from a passing car. It was quickly followed by the shrieking of tires after she pointed one of the handguns she had stored in the car at the traffic before casually tossing it back in the trunk.

Probably not the best idea, but she was not in the mood to deal with any more gross men than she had to today.

Finally, she found one of her favorites to use when it came to intimidation jobs. She twisted the heavy bat in her grip, grimacing at the mysterious chunks caught in the barbed wire wrapped around it.

She sighed and slammed the trunk closed and tossed the bat onto the floor of the backseat. Once she climbed into the driver's seat, her boss finally picked up the phone.

"Ah, (Y/N)! To whom do I owe the pl-"

"Do you have Huo on a job right now? I'm coming to pick him up." (Y/N) interrupted.

"What? Why are you coming to pick up Huo?"

"I'm going to make sure Daehoon is making sure he's ready for his collection date."

"Well, your partner is waiting for you at headquarters."

"Make sure he's outside."

"Of course."

(Y/N) hung up and sped to the tall business building that was currently being used as a headquarters, breaking multiple traffic laws on her way.

She pulled up to the tall figure waiting outside the door, not paying attention to who got in the car and instead watching Daehoon's current livestream to see his whereabouts before driving to the area he was in.

She only glanced away from the road for a second and saw a... black head of hair?? Neatly jelled hair?

"What the hell did you do to your-"

The person in her passenger seat looked at her unimpressed, dull blue eyes staring into her soul and judging her.

She slammed on the breaks, the tires squealing in protest.

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"

"Daisho." He answered plainly.

"Why are you in my car??"

"Didn't your boss tell you? I'm-"

The conversation was interrupted by a car behind them honking at (Y/N) for stopping in the middle of the road, so she began driving again.

"Try anything and I'll blown your brains out." She threatened.

"I see no gun." Daisho shrugged.

"I have my methods."

Vague, but he got the point. He knew exactly how dangerous the person sitting next to him was, having read multiple files on (Y/N) on the plane ride from France to Seoul. She just looked... different from how he had expected.

Instead of the burly woman covered in tattoos he was expecting, he was met with a regular looking teen with delicate features.

"I'm your new colleague." He answered calmly.

"Rookie mistake, I'm just gonna drop you off somewhere and you can find your way back. I need to get Huo."

"Boss said you'd say something like that. She wanted you to know that he'd be assigned on different tasks now that he works full time and you don't."

"Are you k-" (Y/N) sighed when she saw that they were coming close to the entrance to the warehouse Daehoon had set up camp in and three very familiar idiots standing inside.

"Just stay in the car, we'll talk when I'm done." She pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car, getting the bat out the the back seat before slamming the door shut.

Daisho rolled down the window to call out to her as she walked towards the building.

"You aren't supposed to be causing any bodily harm!"

"I know what I'm doing." (Y/N) scowled.

Daisho rolled the window back up and sighed, slumping back into his seat, watching (Y/N) walk into the cement structure.

She was a sight to see. Regular looking teen girl in a baggy pink hoodie and skinny jeans with a stone cold face and a barb wire wrapped baseball bat in hand.

The next few months were sure to be interesting, to say the least.

Inside the building, (Y/N) followed the sound of e going voices. She finally reached the group and walked in on Daehoon grabbing onto Vasco's collar.

"Let. Go." Vasco growled, grabbing onto Daehoon's wrist, causing him to let go and pick up the bat that he had brought with him.

"Who are you?! Don't you know Daehoon Shin from Gang High?!" He yelled, pointing the bat at the group of three in front of him.

Meanwhile, in Daisho land, the male sighed and shifted in his seat, resting his cheek on the car window.

"This is so boring..." he whined to himself, staring at the building longingly for a moment before getting out of the car. "I'll just go in and watch..."

He wandered through the building, finding the group the same way (Y/N) had, and saw the girl leaning in the doorway, unseen as she watched the whole thing.

"Aren't you going to do something?"

The girl flinched, whipping her head around to glare at him.

"I thought I told you to stay in the car." (Y/N) hissed.

"And I thought you came in here to work, but it looks like you're doing as much as I was in the car."

"Just- Just go back outside."

"Why? It's not like I'm interrupting you or anything." Daisho shrugged.

"You know what? I-" (Y/N) huffed and turned around, walking into the middle of the scene before Zack could start throwing punches.

Daisho smirked as he watched the girl make her way between the two males. His first time seeing (Y/N) in action, how exciting!

"So we're playing with bats now, Daehoon?" She asked smoothly, as if she hadn't just been verbally shoved into the middle of the situation.

Vasco, Daniel and Zack always paused.

'How does she always just pop out of nowhere like that??'

Daniel's eyes trailed down the the weapon of mass destruction held in her relatively small hands.

'What the HELL is that?'

"Do you even know how to swing one properly?" (Y/N) asked, taking a few steps closer to Daehoon and tapping the tip of the bat on the cement floor a a couple of times.

She followed the motions as she explained them:

"You've gotta step into it, and its all in the hips-"

The bat swished through the air, moving faster than anybody in the room eyes could follow. The bat stopped abruptly right next to Daehoon's face, one of the sharp needles of the barbed wire lightly scratching his cheek.

"And muscle control." (Y/N) finished, staring the taller boy down for a moment before allowing the weapon to fall to her side again.

Daehoon's chest began to rise and fall faster than it was moments before, his eyes widened.

'Shit... that was close.'

"Quit bothering teenagers and get your priorities in check. You're grown now." Then she whipped around to look at the five boys she went to school with, glowering at them.

"And you five, what the hell is wrong with you guys?" She hissed, pointing through bat at them as she ranges out of habit. "Why can't you just mind your business? Ever?"

She sighed and face palmed. "I'm driving you three home." She said, pointing to Zack, Vasco and Daniel.

"And you three... you guys can figure it out yourselves." She said, pointing to Doo, Taejoon and Daisho.

She began walking away, the three boys she had offered a ride home to hesitantly following behind her.

"W-Wait, what? It's my first day here! I don't know my way back!"

Daniel watched (Y/N) stop in her tracks, throwing her head back and sighing heavily once again.

"Get to know the area." She called over her shoulder, ignoring the irritated groan that came from the male's mouth.

The three followed her to the car she arrived in, all crowding into the cramped back seat, nobody wanting to sit up front with (Y/N) when she was in angry mom mode.

Eventually she went to sit in the front seat, turning around to glare at the three.

"All three of you are idiots, but especially you." She said, pointedly glaring start Zack, who shrunk into his seat looking like a guilty child.

"I would strangle you, but I'm morally above trying to fight injured people. But I'm not too sure, maybe I should because what kind of person tries to start a fight with a gang member when both of his damn arms are in casts." She hissed.

"Listen we were just-" Zack tried to defend the trio.

"Trying to what? Get yourselves killed?"

She turned back around in her seat and rested her head on the steering wheel, clenching her jaw and gripping the wheel before finally driving off to drop the silent teens off at their respective homes.

Once she finally got home herself, she found Eli had let himself into the apartment and was sitting in the living room with cheap takeout sitting on the coffee table. He grinned at her, bouncing Yena on his lap and patted the cushion next to him. (Y/N) basically hurled herself onto the worn couch, not even moving to start to pick at the food Eli had brought over.

"Rough day?"

(Y/N) could have burst into tears.

She immediately launched into the explanation of just how shitty her day was, from her boss changing her partner even though she said she's be able to work with Huo for her every job to how everybody was an idiot and driving is hard.

Throughout her rant, Eli eased a small plate into (Y/N)'s hands and snuck small amounts of food onto it while (Y/N) was busy talking, giving a satisfied nod when she absentmindedly took a bite of the food.

Once (Y/N) had finished her rant and Eli was convinced that she had eaten enough, he had waved her off to go wash up while he cleaned up before he went back to his own apartment.

After (Y/N) was finished with her shower, she had to walk through the kitchen to get back to the hallway where all the bedrooms in the apartment were.

She jumped when she saw a figure in the kitchen, but deflated when she saw it was just Minseok.

"Hey dude, what are you still doing up?" She asked quietly, as to not wake Huo, who had already been asleep when she got home.

It was her brother's turn to yelp and quickly turn his back to her.

"H-Hey! Yeah, I'm just getting water, I-" he fumbled to open the spice cabinet instead of the one that held cups. Which was strange, because he was actually the one the organize the kitchen.

"Why are you acting so weird?" (Y/N) asked.

"It's nothing I'm just really, really, thirsty..."

(Y/N) furrowed her brows and walked up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder, gently turning him to face her.

"I know that you get yourself a cup before you go in your room every night, so what's going o-"

She froze when his face came into view, her eyes widening when her little brother's swollen black eye and split lip came into view.

"What happened?" She whispered, running her thumb over his cheek, being careful not to touch the bruise.

He still flinched and grabbed her wrist to keep her from touching his sore face.

"Would you believe me if I said I walked into a door?"

"Somebody did this to you?" (Y/N) asked lowly.

Minseok bit the inside of his cheek for a moment before sighing.

"It's just a few kids at school, they're too dumb to even understand what they did so don't-"

"I'm picking you up from school tomorrow." (Y/N) interrupted.

"(Y/N), please, it'll just make it worse-"

"No no no no, these guys'll be too scared to even look in your direction after I talk to em, okay?"

"You really don't have to..."

"But I do, so you get to bed and don't worry your cute little head about tomorrow, okay?" She said, placing a kiss on his forehead and turning him back around to walk to his room.

"But I was actually gonna get more water..." Minseok said, wiping at his forehead with his sleeve.

"Nope! Bed time! I'll see you in the morning."

The young boy only grumbled and closed his door behind him when he went back to his room. (Y/N) followed suit, going into her own bed and hoping for a good night's rest after an exhausting day.

But no.

Instead, (Y/N) tossed and turned for at least an hour, unable to get comfortable and pass out like she usually does. She sighed and rolled out of bed, bringing her pillow with her when she walked a few feet down the hall and opened the door.

She stood there for a moment before the blankets started to rustle and a head of green hair peaked out from the sheets.

"(Y/N)?" Huo rasped, rubbing at his eyes as he tried to see if it was who he thought it was.

"Hi..."

The two started at each other for a moment, Huo taking a bit to process what was happening.

"Can't sleep?" He finally asked.

All (Y/N) had to do was nod before Huo was holding up the blanket for her to crawl into bed next to him and make herself comfortable. While (Y/N)'s bed had more soft pillows, Huo's was broken in just right so you sunk into the mattress perfectly. And his body was comfortingly warm.

(Y/N) squished her face into her pillow and tried to fall asleep right away, but felt eyes boring into her face.

She opened her own and narrowed them at Huo.

"Listen, I'm sorry about work. I really tried my best to stay with y-"

"It's not your fault." (Y/N) sighed, her eyes softening at Huo's distraught expression.

"So you're not mad?"

"Mmh."

"Are you sure?"

"Mmh."

"Are you positive?"

"Mmh."

"Are you absolutely-"

"Jesus christ can you please shut up?"

"I'm just trying to make sure that you still love me!" Huo whined, dramatic as ever.

"You know I do, you're just being annoying." (Y/N) grumbled, turning over so that Huo would be staring at the back of her head instead of her face.

"(Y/N)~ I'm trying to talk to you." Huo whined, grabbing at her shoulder trying to turn her around, getting a whine from the girl herself.

"I just wanna go to bed. We can talk tomorrow."

"Promise?"

"If I say yes, will you let me sleep?"

"Yes."

"Then I promise."

With that Huo gave a satisfied nod and threw his arm over (Y/N) and made himself comfortable, (Y/N) doing the same.

"G'night." Huo mumbled sleepily, but was met with quiet breathing instead of a verbal response. He smiled to himself before falling asleep as well.
