《delivery girl》Ch.63

The week after (Y/N) had admitted to Daniel that she had dropped the pizza gig, he had noticed she had significantly more energy now. Instead of sleeping while she waited for class to start like she did most day, she was found sitting next to one of her friends, contentedly listening to them chatter away.
This morning she had been sitting in the seat behind Zack's and watched him scroll through memes over his shoulder. They'd make a few comments every now and then, only occasionally laughing. (Zack notes absentmindedly that (Y/N)'s nose still scrunches when she laughs).
Eventually they scroll to a video a kid that goes to their school, Taejoon Park, a notorious liar. He was trying to start internet beef with Daehoon Shin, threatening to beat his ass and all of that good stuff.
Zack was cackling and (Y/N) just scoffed, "Idiot."
"Tell me about it! Daehoon would mop the floor with this kid!"
"I was talking about Daehoon. But that kid isn't the brightest either."
"Are you kidding? Daehoon is one of the coolest guys on pacebook-" Zack started, becoming defensive.
"He's in debt." (Y/N) said plainly.
"Huh?"

*saturday night*
(Y/N) and Huo stood out side of the dingy building, staring up at the flickering neon sign that was about to fall off of the wall.
"I thought he was going to open a 'high class luxurious' club." (Y/N) grumbled.
"Well... that's what he said. Maybe it's really nice inside, like a plot twist!" Huo said hopefully, walking towards the rusty doors and opening them to a grimy hallway.
"I'm gonna be pissed if I got dressed up for no reason."
The duo silently walked down the hallway, following the sound of bass heavy music. At the end of the hall there was flashing neon lights and the familiar scent of a seedy nightclub. Alcohol, body odor and weed.

"All men do is disappoint me." (Y/N) sighed dramatically.
"Hey!" Huo whined.
"He said he'd meet us here, right? Maybe this is just a meetup spot." (Y/N) thought aloud, looking around and disgust and dodging a stumbling drunk.
She was deeply disappointed when she saw Daehoon pushing his way through the crowd with a drink in his hands and a pretty girl following him.
"Hey guys, welcome to my humble joint." He said with a friendly smile, obviously kissing up. (Y/N) but her tongue and nodded.
"Hey dude!" Huo greeted happily, doing some weird bro handshake he had with the other man.
"So, are we here to talk money or what?" Daehoon asked, rubbing his hands together and looking at the two curiously.
There was no response, making him a bit anxious.
(Y/N) stared blankly and Huo coughed, nodding his head at the girl Daehoon was with.
"Oh! Babe, can you to the bar for a bit? The grownups are talking." He said in attempt to be cool, but even Huo cringed at that one.
"Follow me." Daehoon said, growing serious and leading the two back to a grimy back room with folding chairs surrounding a round plastic table.
He sat down in one chair and motioned to the other two at the table.
"Please, take a seat."
Huo carefully accepted the offer, cautious of breaking the chair and (Y/N) remained standing.
Daehoon coughed awkwardly before beginning to speak again. "So, you guys wanted to talk business?"
"Yeah, we uh, actually wanted to discuss the loan you took out with us." Huo said gently, trying to break the news to his friend'.
"Oh, totally! You guys can expect the money back by the beginning of next year. You see, we're still building a name for ourselves and I was actually going to ask if we could borrow more-"

"We were thinking the end of this month, at most." (Y/N) said cooly, and Daehoon's face dropped, skin going pale.
"T-This month? That's ridiculous, I- we-"
"By the looks of your establishment and your social media platform, it looks like you're living very comfortably. You should easily be able to meet the quota." (Y/N) explained, mockingly cocking her head at the man sitting across from Huo.
"You can't be serious. We need a few months at least, people like you should understand."
"We do understand, it's nothing against you. Our boss just-" (Y/N) placed a hand on Huo's shoulder, signaling him to shut up.
"We understand how to make a business run perfectly well. The next time you'll be seeing us is when we come to collect your dues." (Y/N) rapped Huo's shoulder twice and he obediently stood up, following her out of the room.
"I'll see you around, man." Huo mumbled over his shoulder.
Once they were out of sight, Daehoon slumped in his chair, ignoring the plastic creaking in protest.
"Fuck."
--------------------------
"What's the next video?" (Y/N) asked, resting her chin on her palm and patiently waiting for Zack to scroll down.
"Well, let's see."

Awakening
This story was previously known as "The Awakening".~*~"One... two... three... one... two... three... a million... is that number right?" A figure less voice echoed."Hello? Who's there?" Caliope asked, focusing on that voice."One... two... who? A million... a billion... no, it's more... a legion..."Silence. She had seen too many horror movies and heard too many stories about that single word to overpass its meaning. The voice went quiet, yet she was still unable to see where it came from. Her eyes focused on the far end of the path and all she could see were more trees. She turned to the opposite side and found just the same."One... two... billions... but always back at one..." the voice resumed it's counting."Where are you?
