《delivery girl》Ch.62

Enu finally had her puppies! And while they were good company and were a reason for (Y/N) to come to visit him more often, it was getting to be a lot.
Daniel now had five mouths to feed! Yeah, (Y/N) helped to pay for the food very often, but puppies get... messy.
Being a parent was too much responsibility for him on his own.
"I'm running out of money... I can't keep five dogs on my own..." Daniel sighed one day, 'I already have two bodies to take care of.'
"Just put them up for adoption." Zack suggested, resting his head on the desk and looking up at Daniel.
Daniel hummed deep in thought.
"Are you going to put them up for adoption?" (Y/N) asked, sitting in the desk in front of Daniel and Zack, turned sideways in the seat and comfortably.
"I can take them if they're too much, Minseok would love to have some buddies in the house."
"(Y/N), if it's too much for me to take care of four puppies, it'll be too much for your little brother."
"But-"
"I'll just find somebody who we can visit often!"
(Y/N) perked up, "Zack...?"
"No! I can't!"

The next Saturday Daniel was working, his boss had asked him to come in and it wasn't like he had anything better to do for the day, and his other body could use some rest.
It was a normal day, getting dirty looks from customers and seeing people look in through the windows and laugh at him.
His day became a bit better when (Y/N) came in with... two kids?
She looked a bit exasperated when she walked in, a cute toddler grabbing at her cheeks and babbling away while a boy, who looked to be in middle school and had strikingly similar features to (Y/N) chatted away about something to do with final bosses.

(Y/N) playfully nipped at the baby's fingers making her squeal and giggle before she sent a smile to Daniel and began walking over to the counter.
Once she made it there, the moved to settle the little girl on her hip and sent the boy off to get some snacks.
Once she was finally settled she greeted Daniel.
"Hey." She said, a bit breathy. Her hair and sweatshirt were a bit out of place, probably out of place from the baby tugging at it.
"Hi! So... new friends?" He asked curiously, his eyes flickering down to the child resting on (Y/N)'s hip who was staring right back at him.
"Yeah, I'm watching this little one and Minseok thought we should get out of the house."
"Wow, babysitting and pizza delivery, you sure are busy." Daniel said, clearly impressed.
(Y/N) tensed a little bit, knowing damn well that despite being a bit dull, Daniel will eventually find some things out.
"I actually dropped the pizza gig like, last week."
"What?"
"I don't work for the pizza place anymore."
"Oh." Daniel took a moment to process. 'But she was out so late almost every night last week... more than usual if anything. What could she have been doing?'
Before Daniel had the chance to connect any dots,
"So where are the puppies? That's actually why we stopped by..."
Daniel began to scratch at the back of his neck shyly when the boy came back to the counter and put the snacks and drinks he had chosen onto the counter.
"Well... you see, Daniel and I actually handed them over to Jay, since they were getting to be a lot."
(Y/N) looked at him expectantly and Daniel couldn't meet her eyes, so he pretended to be focused on scanning her items.

"Sooo IgavethemtoJay." He scrambled to get the words out, practically thrusting the bag of snacks into (Y/N)'s one available hand, feeling slightly guilty when she handed it back off to Minseok.
"Oh, that's no problem. We'll just head over there then." (Y/N) said casually, pulling her phone out of her back pocket and began typing.
"I'll just text him and if he's home we're all set."
"Ah." 'So you're just gonna leave me? For puppies?'
(Y/N) was already headed out the door.
"I'll see you around." She called over her shoulder, the baby also waving over her shoulder and the younger boy happily telling Daniel to have a good day.
---------------------------
Jay greeted the trio in the lobby and tried to lead them to the elevator but it seemed like (Y/N) and Minseok were too busy admiring the luxurious lounge furniture and tall ceilings to follow Jay. Even the baby had her jaw dropped, some drool coming out from the corner of her mouth.
Jay smiled a bit and shook his head, walking back to where (Y/N) had stopped and tapped her shoulder. She seemed to break out of her trance and gave him a sheepish smile.
"Sorry, this place is really nice."
Jay shrugged and continue to lead (Y/N) to the elevator. Once they were inside of the claustrophobic metal box (but fairly nice for a death trap) (Y/N) had to keep Yena from pressing all of the buttons and making the amount of time they spent in the elevator even longer.
Once they made it to the floor that Jay lived on and walked into the apartment, the children of the groups immediately lost their shit.
Yena tried to best to squirm out of (Y/N)'s arms and onto the floor and Minseok practically flopped on the floor, giggling when he was all of a sudden at the bottom of a puppy pile.
Yena was whining and whimpering until (Y/N) gently set her on the ground and helped her waddle over to Minseok and the puppies.
She sat herself down and Yena did the same, trying to roughly grab at the puppies until (Y/N) showed her how to gently pet them.
"No no no, you gotta do nice Yena, do niiice."
It was strange to hear how (Y/N)'s 'baby voice' differed from how she spoke to everybody at school.
Jay sat opposite side of the puppy pile and faced (Y/N), trying not to grimace when one of the small creatures wandered too close.
After about a half an hour of (Y/N) contentedly watching the children play with the puppies and Jay staying a cautious distance away but still enjoying observing (Y/N) in her mother hen mode, they were ready to go.
But before they left, (Y/N) had picked Yena up and say her next to Minseok, and quickly gathered up the puppies, gathering them into her arms and doing her best to dump them onto the children's laps without hurting any of them. She then handed Jay her phone and walked away again to sit next to Yena, stretching her arm to wrap it around Minseok's shoulder.
"Would you mind taking a picture before we go?"
"...."
"Yeah, of course I'll send it to you."
