《delivery girl》Ch.16

The following day at school, Namsoo Lee arrived at school with confidence. His 'gear' that he had acquired over the last few months made him a solid level 9, at the least!
Soon enough, he would look exactly like DG! Unfortunately for him, when he arrived with his new equipment, he was approached by somebody of a higher level.
"What the hell? You're wearing the same kicks again."
'Oh! Zack Lee.! Why does it have to be him?' Namsoo began to grow nervous, 'Why does it have to be him? He's got higher quality gear!!'
"We look like a couple, it's annoying." Zack sighed, leaning on the classroom's heater.
"Sorry..." Namsoo mumbled. 'I know I'm smarter than him, so his gear shouldn't outshine mine!'
Zack's overall level was 80, his height was 10, his athletics 10, his fighting, appearance and fighting were 9, but his smarts came in at level 1.
Zack narrowed his eyes and turned around. "Ah, Whatever. It's not my business anyway.." he said as he walked away.
'Huh? Is he sick?' Namsoo wondered, noticing Zack's unusually docile behavior.
When he heard Zack tell his goons to leave him alone, his brain began to jump to conclusions. 'Could it be... My chrome hearts?!' He looked down at his hand in shock.
'Did he see it? Power! Incredible! This is the real deal. The brand makes the man!'
He turned around to look at the ready of the class with a smug gaze. 'Everyone come take a look at my ring!'
His sensitive ego was knocked down again after he turned and saw Jay Hong with every finger in an expensive ring, and completely decked out in brand name clothing.
'He's so quiet I never noticed. Who is he really?' Namsoo couldn't figure out his ranking, the only thing he could figure out was his level ten height.
"Wow, Namsoo. You bought a ring?"
"Oh! Chrome Hearts!!"
"Huh?" Namsoo looked to see who was talking to him, and he nearly passed out when he saw who it was .
'Finally they noticed!! Our class rich kids!'
"Nice, man."
"You know the brand makes the man."
"Yeah, it looks pretty cool."
Namsoo began to zone out when the twins began to brag about their wealth. 'They're noticing me! I'm getting attention from these guys who are loaded!'

When he mentally rejoined the conversation, he grit his teeth when he saw the boys talking about the rings they already had, and how they wanted to get more.
When the rich kids and Namsoo saw that Zoe and Mira were curiously in their direction, they began to up the bragging, playing with their hair and twisting their rings.
Namsoo joined along, refusing to be seen as a loser.
But they weren't drooling over their name brand accessories, instead, they were thinking things like 'What the.. Those tools..' and 'I hate that, they're like a retro trio band.'
Their attention left the boys when a tired looking (Y/N) walked into class and plopped herself onto the desk next to Mira, causing Zoe to begin to whine.
The three boys were about to increase the boasting even more, now that they had the attention of three pretty girls to catch.
Their plans were ruined when the class began to 'ooh' and 'aahh'. When they turned around, Daniel Park was walking into class with a bright smile.
'He's here!' Namsoo thought, looking Daniel up and down, all of his ratings were 10/10. 'He's got it all.
He watched as Daniel sat next to Zack. 'He took out Zack Lee right after he transferred! The dark horse!'
"Hi Zack!" Daniel chirped.
Zack looked away and put his chin in his palm. "Go talk to (Y/N) or something. Just don't look at Mira."
'His stats are all perfect! I hate that jerk!' Namsoo sniffled.
"Hey, but there's something strange about him." One of the rich twins said, his glasses glinting.
"Yeah."
"Check out his old bag, and he only wears those same converse." They said, pointing out Daniel's well worn bag and sneakers.
"You're right!" The other gasped. "I didn't know because of his looks but.. Daniel Park.. He's unfashionable. He must be poor."
The class, who had began to eavesdrop, gasped at the observation, and began to whisper about Daniel, who was oblivious to the rumor.
(Y/N), who had also been listening, frowned.
"Hey, you two." She called out.
The twins and Namsoo looked over excitedly, if they had tails, they would be wagging.
'Oh! One of the girls noticed us!'

'It must be the ring!!'
"Why don't you take those silver spoons out of your mouths and shove them up your-" Mira kicked her from under the table before she could finish her sentence, but the boys got the message.
Their faces were pale, mortified at the fact that their money didn't make the girl think of them as superior.
"W-Well, you're not any better than he is!" One of the twins stuttered, refusing to let (Y/N) make him and his brother seem like spoiled brats.
'What are you doing?! Making fun of a girl!' Namsoo thought nervously, looking over at Daniel, who was looking at (Y/N) with a shocked expression.
'Whatever happened to no bad language?' Daniel wondered, thinking back to the note that (Y/N) had thrown at him after Zoe woke him up.
Namsoo shuddered, 'Daniel will go for you next!'
"Yeah! You only wear no name hoodies and those stupid sneakers every day!" The other twin joined.
"Usually retro are cool, but it looks like the 90's threw up on those sneakers! And they're way too big for your feet. Probably hand me downs."
Other than her eye twitching, (Y/N)'s face remained impassive as she began to get out of her seat. "What'd you say about my shoes?"
Namsoo nearly yelped, the only levels that he could confirm for (Y/N) was her level 5 height and her level 9.5 appearance. And the lack of predictably could only end badly for him.
But before she could take even a few steps, Daniel was out of his seat and standing in front of her, awkwardly laughing with his hands on her shoulders.
"It's okay (Y/N), your shoes are cool!" He tried to cool it down, 'Why is she about to fight over shoes?! She's usually so calm!'
Her eyes left the three boys behind him and looked up at Daniel. After seeing his nervous expression, they lost their edge and she looked away.
"I know they're cool." She said, and leaned to the side again to look past Daniel's unnecessarily wide shoulders to look at the three trembling teens.
"Don't talk about Daniel or my shoes again. Or I'll call your dad and tell you've forgotten how to act." And with the last words that she always felt the need to have, she went to sit back down next to Mira.
Daniel sighed and let his shoulders sag. 'Whew, That was a close one. Note to self, don't talk about (Y/N)'s shoes.'
In the class, whispers continued despite what had just happened.
"So (Y/N) and Daniel are poor?"
"I never would have guessed."
"Do you think it's true?"
"No way!"
"But why else would she get so defensive?"
Jay Hong remained silent as usual, resting his chin in his palm as he listened to the rumors beginning to spread like wildfire. What in the world could he be thinking about?
Meanwhile in the architecture department's classroom, trying to handle the situation.
The situation being Daniel beating Vasco in a fight that Vasco has started.
"Is it true that Vasco lost?"
"He's not here today."
"It can't be true."
"He fought him mano y mano?"
"There's no rumors but... tell me, Jace."
The large eared boy sat in the middle of the crowd of Burn Knuckle members, his arms and legs crossed as he closed his eyes to think.
He didn't answer the questions, instead wondering where the hell their leader was. 'It's tough alone, Vasco, come back!'
Just then, Jace got a message from Vasco, and the group got rowdy.
'Shut up and let me lead!' Jace thought as he unlocked his phone. Vasco texted him about how his phone had been broken, and how he left to fix it. Jace sighed when Vasco sent a photo.
'You know you can't screen shot your broken screen! Vasco!' Jace began to nervously sweat as he tried to figure out how to handle the rowdy group of delinquents.
'It's good that he's okay, but I've gotta take charge!' He thought as he listened to the members suggest getting revenge on Daniel.
Jace put on a strong face as he gave orders to play it slow and wait for Vasco to come back.
While everybody else, one member crossed his arms. 'I know that's not his words. I'm following Vasco, not you. Why are you pretending to lead without Vasco? He took out Vasco... I have to do something."

I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
