The next morning the class was chattering away during their free time.
"Mira.. Where are you studying for the exam?" Said girl's desk mate asked.
"Hm.. I'm heading to the library later. Since school finished early today." She explained, not even flinching at the vulgar conversation going on elsewhere in the room.
She only turned around when someone called her name.
"Hey, I'm... going to the library too. Shall we go together? If you're okay with it." Zack said, not meeting Mira's eyes as he swayed side to side in his seat.
"You? You're going to study?" Somebody asked.
"No." Mira refused firmly.
"What? Why not?!" Zack asked, jumping out of his seat.
"If you go, you'll just get into a fight again." She has a point there.
"Hey, I don't go looking around for a scrap all the time." Zack weakly defended himself.
"Yes you do." Mira said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "You know I absolutely hate fighting."
"Look, Mira. I won't fight. I promise." Zack said, growing desperate to spend time with the girl.
Mira sighed. "Fine, but if you're coming, then I'm going to invite one more person." She said, standing up and walking towards the back of the classroom.
(Y/N) jumped when somebody tapped on her desk, interrupting her day dream. She looked up, ready to glare at whoever disturbed her, but relaxed when she saw Mira's shy smile.
"Zack and I are going to the library. Would you like to come as well?" The girl offered.
Zack remained in his seat, but watched the interaction like a hawk. 'At least it's just her... I would have been upset if it was anybody else.' He thought.
Mira tried not to let her face fall when (Y/N) smiled apologetically.
"Sorry, I can't today." She said, trying to let Mira down softly, but somebody slid into the empty seat next to her and invited themselves into the conversation.
"Yeah, she already has plans with me!" Zoe said, trying to cling onto (Y/N), 'A day for besties only!' She thought.

(Y/N) leaned away and looked from Zoe to Mira, totally confused.
"... I do?" She asked.
"Yes, silly! Don't you remember? We're study buddies!" Zoe laughed, swatting (Y/N)'s arm. 'Go along with it!'. She turned back to Mira and gave a sweet, but fake smile. "You have fun with Zack."
"Oh.. Okay." Mira said, suddenly feeling like she was intruding. "I'll leave you two to it then."
"Thanks~" Zoe chirped as she walked the other girl walk away.
(Y/N) sighed, slightly guilty for turning an old friend down. "Mira!" She called, causing the girl to turn around and face her. "Next time, okay?"
Mira gave a smile that outshined the sun itself, and (Y/N) found one twitching onto her lips as well.
"Next time." Mira repeated, and then walked to Zack.
Once she was gone, (Y/N) spoke to Zoe again.
"I was serious when I said I couldn't hang out today. I have things to do." She said, standing up from her seat so she could gather her things.
"That's okay! I'll just come with you!" Zoe chirped.
(Y/N) paused and quirked a brow at Zoe. "You want to run errands with me?" She asked.
"Totally!"
"It's gonna be boring." (Y/N) continued, subtly trying to discourage Zoe from coming.
"Being with your bestie can make anything fun!"
"I thought you wanted to study." She tried one last time.
When the other girl went quiet and pouted as tried to find an answer, (Y/N) had to keep herself from smiling and put her last book in her bag.
She must have really wanted to tag along.
(Y/N) threw her bag over her shoulder.
"Let's get going. We've got things to do, places to be." She said, looking down at Zoe at waiting for her to get her things together.
"Yay!!"
Once they made it out of the school, it was around 11:30. (Y/N) led Zoe to the bike rack and unlocked old faithful.
"Pegs or basket, make your choice." (Y/N) said plainly, ignoring Zoe's confused expression.
'I was expecting a car..' She thought. 'But this is a lot better than walking!'

Zoe laughed, "This looks super fun!" and trotted over to the front of the bike, where the basket was.
"Is this sturdy?" Zoe asked, looking at the basket and then to (Y/N). She looked at the basket and then to Zoe.
"Well, it holds my cat and groceries." She said with a shrug.
Zoe gasped dramatically, "(Y/N)-ie! I'd die if I sit it that! Why would you offer it?!"
The girl shrugged again and put her bag into the woven basket. "Your loss. Get yourself situated so we can leave."
Zoe playfully rolled her eyes and stood on the two add ons, placing her hands on (Y/N)'s shoulders.
Besides the lurch when they first took off, Zoe was a more enjoyable passenger. Instead of having a heart attack at every turn of the handle bar and begging for (Y/N) to slow down, Zoe was giggling and cheering as if she was on a roller coaster. (Y/N) even had to remind her to hold on a few times.
After about 15 minutes, (Y/N) pulled in front of an old looking brick building with a rotting sign.
Zoe's interest piqued. 'Is this some underground bike shop? Or a girl gang's head quarters? OMG!! Am I going to join a girl gang?!'
Zoe was greatly disappointed when (Y/N) led her into the doors and it only turned out to be a disorganized mom-and-pop grocery shop.
(Y/N) casually greeted the sleepy old woman sitting behind the counter and grabbed two plastic baskets, handing one to Zoe and instructed her to keep close and not to touch anything she won't buy.
After about half an hour of wandering around she store which seemed to be bigger on the inside, (Y/N) bad filled her basket and half of Zoe's. And the latter was beginning to grow restless.
Well, she has been bored ever since she was handed a basket, but she only started whining about five minutes ago.
"(Y/NNNN), this is so booooring." She sighed, ready to lay down on a bag of rice and take a nap.
"I'm sorry." (Y/N) said, not sounding sorry at all.
"Why can't we go do normal teenager stuff?"
"Because I have responsibilities."
Zoe groaned. "You sound like my mom."
(Y/N)'s eyes flickered away from the produce she was looking at and over to Zoe's pouting figure.
"You're the one who said you wanted to run errands with me, were you not?" She questioner.
"I did want to come, but you just spent ten minutes deciding which zucchini you wanted to buy."
(Y/N) huffed a laugh. "Quality is important." She said, trying to get a reaction out of the other girl.
Zoe groaned again, and a small, entertained smile grew on (Y/N)'s face.
"Were you counting?" (Y/N) asked, curious as to how Zoe was occupying herself.
"Yes, actually. I was."
"Then keep counting. Maybe it'll improve your math skills." (Y/N) teased.
Zoe gasped, placing a hand over her chest. "That was mean! First you drag me to a sketchy store and then you bully me." Zoe pouted.
(Y/N) hummed in thought and picked up a carton of eggs and placed it into Zoe's basket.
"Maybe if you stop acting like a brat, we can go to a café after I'm done. Which will only take about.." (Y/N) looked down at her sanrio themed wrist watch, "5 minutes. Think you can make it?"
Zoe immediately perked up, "I can manage that!" She said, excited to have something to look forward to.
Both held up their own ends of the deal. Zoe stopped whining, and (Y/N) finished her shopping in five minutes.
Once they excited the store (Y/N) loaded the plastic bags into her basket along with her backpack.
Zoe was standing off to the side, waiting and watching. "Why do you shop there anyways?" She asked.
"Because it's cheaper than a regular grocery store, and it's close to home. So I figured that in could drop off the bags at home before we went to the café." (Y/N) explained.
Zoe nodded. "As long as you don't take forever this time."
(Y/N) smiled. "I won't. I'll be in and out." She promised, throwing her leg over the bike and waiting for Zoe to get on as well.
