Zack Lee has always been really fast.
He remembers when he was five years old and became the new star of kindergarten after being the first place sprinter. It wasn't that he was slow, it was just that everyone else was a slow goof.
When he was in elementary school he used to beat up kids for their digimon cards.
And in middle school he had started to box. He was knocking people out left and right with his prepubescent fueled rage powering his fists.
After he entered high school, he beat up the first three goons who crossed him.
He's always been speedy.
So life was easy.
But now!
"Dodged again!"
Daniel was dodging his hits like it was his job.
"Woah!"
"First time I've seen it!"
"Dodged them all!"
"Incredible!"
'Who the hell is this guy?!' Zack thought as he panted, sweating from the effort it was taking to try and land a hit.
"He avoided every attack from Zack!"
Daniel was becoming more and more nervous with every punch that Zack had thrown. 'So fast.. Scary..'
"Awesome!"
Zack watched as Daniel continued to dodge his punches with ease. 'He's not just good at watching! He's reading my shoulders and moving!'
He grit his teeth, 'This guy has a lot of experience! He's not easy!'.
He looked away from Daniel to look at Mira again, 'She's still watching. It's humiliating.'
'Then! He won't see this coming!'
He cocked his fist back and Daniel was ready to dodge, but Zack switched hands and went to punch the other side of his face. 'Got him!'
Daniel panicked, 'Can't avoid it!'
(Y/N) flinched and got ready to jump back in between the boys but Jay grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back before she could.
There was no need for her to come to Daniel's rescue.
He had caught Zack's fist just before it could hit him in the face.
Daniel nearly sighed in relief. 'I almost got hit. Whew.'
'Huh? What?' Zack was shocked. 'He caught it?'
The class's reactions were comical.
"What did I just see?!'
"Damn!"
"Woah!"
Even Jay and (Y/N) weren't sure of how to react.
'My punch.. He anticipated it?' Zack thought as he tried to catch his breath, drawing his hand back. 'This dick! He's obviously seen his his share of fisticuffs! A real fighter!'
Underneath Daniel's cool and calm exterior, he was having a meltdown.
'It's getting harder to dodge..' He thought nervously.
'I can't just keep dodging! I'm going to get hit after all!' He looked out at the crowd.
"Why does he just dodge?"
"He must hate to fight!"
"Maybe only his body his fast?"
'Someone...'
"Zack will win, right?"
"Of course..."
"He was the second best boxer in middle school!"
'Stop him.'
His eyes stopped on the three nervously whispered goons.
He thought back to all of the awful things they had said about his mother prior to the fight.
He pictured his mother softly smiling at him.
'What on earth did I do wrong to them?' Daniel wondered, looking at Zack's furious expression.
He dodged another fist and gritted his teeth.
He remembered Logan, his older body's bully Gum Gum Pistoling him in the gut, and explaining how to throw the painful punch.
'Aim for the solar plexus for the first punch.' He remembered.
He looked at Zack after he dodged his punch and remembered all the countless amount omg times he had been beaten by bullies all his life.
Daniel cocked his arm back, and punched Zack so hard in the gut that he lifted him off of the ground.
Everyone was blown away.
"His body..."
"One attempt.."
Jay, Mira and (Y/N) watched with expressions with concern and being impressed.
Zack was curled in on himself, coughing up spit onto the ground.
"One punch and he's down."
"You saw that?"
Daniel looked from where Zack and crumbled on the ground, then to his fist, still trying to figure out what the hell had just happened as his classmates praised him.
"Daniel, you are the man!"
"Incredible!"
"Do you work out?"
"Awesome!"
"One punch!"
'Was it really that hard? He must be in pain..' Daniel thought.
"One ruthless punch!"
"What the hell is he?"
"He doesn't wanna fight!"
"Ooh Danny!" Zoe cooed with heart eyes.
Mira was still shocked.
(Y/N) looked from Daniel to Zack, pity flashed through her eyes, but it disappeared as quickly as it came.
Zack looked up from where his cheek was pressed to the floor, 'M-Mira.'
"Lower your eyes!" Zack yelled. "Did you enjoy that?" He asked through pained coughs, "I saw everyone who smiled! I'll pluck your eyes out!"
Mira was still watching him with morbid curiosity.
'Don't look at me! Ugh!!'
Daniel looked down at Zack, conflicted.
From the corner of the room, the smaller boy who had to fan the goons on the first day of school watched Daniel nervously.
'So he's the same guy as those jerks.' He thought. 'Anyway when predators fight it always turns out bad for guys like me.
After the fight, Jay was minding his business in the boys bathroom. Well, until he heard multiple voices coming from one stall.
"Let's get that dick."
"The transfer?"
"But Zack was no match.."
"Okay, fine. Then a little spook wouldn't do (Y/N) any harm."
"Yeah! Daniel was close to her, so if we scare her he'll get the message."
"You're sick, haha."
"Lol, Let's go at her all at once."
"There are three of us."
"That sounds so wrong lol."
Inside of the stall, the three goons were smoking as they chattered away.
"One of us can grab her from behind, two from the front."
"I'll go from behind."
"Wow, you really have no shame."
"But we cant have either of them acting out like this."
"I'll grab her arms, so she'll feel my Herculean strength." The most muscular boy of the group said, clenching his fists.
"I don't see it."
"Right."
"Let's get her today after school."
"Deal! Let's touch her a- Wait."
"Don't get too ahead of yourself, haha."
Jay tilted his head as he eavesdropped on gross conversation.
Elsewhere in the school, Vin Jin of the Vocal and Dance department got his fill of information on the fight that had just went down.
"Zack Lee in one shot?" He asked.
"Yeah, big deal."
"What a tool." He scoffed. "Is he better looking than me? Just say it, huh?"
The person he was talking to shrugged instead of answering, 'Take off your sunglasses first.' They thought.
In the beauty department, girls were gossiping left and right.
"Eli! Did you see the transfer in the fashion department?"
"Eli... he's good looking, but you're better."
"They say he hit Zack Lee."
"Zack Lee lost?"
Eli Jang, the only male in the beauty department turned around to face the girls that were talking to him.
"I don't care about fighting.. But if he's good looking.. Shall I ask him to be my hair model?" He wondered aloud. 'I'll have to text (Y/N) about this later.' He thought as he ignored the enthusiastic answers of his female fan base.
In the architecture department, the man of men, Euntae Lee was asking questions about the school's new star.
"You said he's handsome?" He asked.
"Yep."
"And popular?"
"Yep."
"And he can fight?"
"Yep."
A tear ran down the muscular teen's face.
"He's just as bad... As Eli..." He whispered dramatically.
"Don't cry."
"They are both going down."
As those higher up in the social hierarchy discussed Daniel, Jiho was zooming through the hallway.
'Ah, ah, gotta pee!' He thought.
He passed by a taller figure, brushing arms with the broad shouldered figure.
'Jay? He's so taciturn..' he thought, looking back at him as he entered the boy's bathroom.
When he turned his head to look on front of him, his jaw dropped.
His three bullies were laying on the floor, bloodied and bruised, groaning in pain.
'What?' He thought, looking at the largest of the group who was laying on the floor, trembling.
The other two's faces were swollen to the point where they could barely lisp out a sentence.
'What's this?!'
He looked back at who he had last seen walking out of the bathroom.
'Jay?!'
The said boy continued to walk through the halls, ignoring the red that was splattered on his chin and white shirt.
