"Normani? You mean the girl the BBMA's?"

"Thank you Mani for meeting us on such a short notice", Brandon my manager said shaking my hand moments after I walked into the conference room.

"It's fine. So what's up?", I asked taking my usual seat near the large window that held the view of the city.

It was unusual for Brandon to call me in for a meeting, specially on a filming day.

I had just rushed over here from filming the music video for "Waves".

Meaning whatever we had to speak about was very important.

"RCA Records want to take a different approach to your career. Sure it's already taken off since the departure of Fifth Harmony and your discography is large but Mr.Brown wants to explore new opportunities and options", he explains sitting down in front of me.

I nod processing.

"Okay. So what does that mean?", I asked him wanting him to be straight forward. It felt as if he was sugar coating it.

"We want you to join another group" the words escaped from his mouth causing my inner self to roll my eyes.

Again. I literally just got out of fifth harmony not even 9 months ago and now that want me back into another girl group.

"What's wrong with my solo career? I've been doing good", I frown.

"Yeah. But that's the thing, Normani. You're just doing good. But the company wants you to do great!"

"And to be "great" I have to join another girl group?", I asked him. Not one single thing of what he was trying to explain even remotely made sense to me.

Honestly this is worst then the company letting me go. There just forcing me back into another group, and I will always be overlooked, not appreciated enough and known as "the only black girl" once again.

I went through that for almost 7 years I will not allow that to happen again. Not again. Not today. Not ever.

"Something like that", he slightly smiles.

I sigh rolling my eyes and biting my lip.

"Do I have a choice?", I asked him.

"No. Not really"

I sat there chewing on my bottom lip nervously, if I say yes... I'll be back in another girl group just to be overlooked... but if I say no, this means everything I ever worked for was all for nothing.

I rubbed the back on my neck thinking out my options.

"Think of it this way... not only will you be known in the U.S but you'll be known internationally", he says getting up from the conference table.

"How can you be so sure? What if this group isn't as successful as Fifth Harmony is. What if it flops, and then what?", I asked crossing my arms.

I watch him chuckle, holding his stomach.

"Trust me when I say this... this group is way more successful then Fifth Harmony ever even thought to be", he says.

What the hell does that even made. Wait.

"This group is already together? You want me to be another member of an already made group?", I question him.

Maybe his brain wasn't working but that has to be the worst idea I have even heard.

"Correct", he smiles still thinking as if this was a good idea.

"Please don't tell me it's Little Mix. I swear to god if you say Little Mix I might as well fire you from being my manger right now", I spat crossing my arms.

"No. It's not Little Mix. This group is bigger then both Little Mix and Fifth Harmony put together", he smiles ears to ear approaching me slowly.

"What group, Brandon?", I asked getting annoyed already. Couldn't he just tell me?

"Pack your bag, Mani. Because we're going to Korea" he smiles.

My brows arch in confusion.

Korea? What girl group in Korea does he want me to join.

I can't even speak Spanish, what makes him think that I can speak Korean.

He was out of his damn mind.

"hello", myself and the six members of BTS said in sync bowing to our boss Bang Si-Hynk.

He slightly smile nodding looking all of us. I turned to Suga who seemed to be less nervous then all of us.

Usually when Si-Hynk calls us in for important meeting it's never good. It's always about sales, and our performances.

"Do you boys know why I called you in today?", he asked looking at all of us.

"We're getting a raise?", Jung-kook spoke out, and I literally wanted to slap the shit out of him for joking around in a most likely serious moment.

Si-Hyuk chuckled before responding, "no. Not as of yet. I requested you guys because I wanted to talk about the seven of you guys as a group", he explains.

Oh god. What did we do wrong this time?

"Nothing bad. So you guys can stop being nervous", he smiles softly causing myself and the others to sigh in relief.

"Thank god", I hear Jimin mumble.

"In fact you boys are on the best things to ever happen to my company which is a good thing", he says complimenting all of us.

I couldn't help but smile.

"Which is also a bad thing because you guys have a lot of competition in this music industry. If you guys want to be the best, you have to look, sound and act like the best", he explains to us.

I already thought out what this means. It meant after this meeting, I'm going to force the boys to go practice even though we don't have any shows or performances coming up soon.

"Since there is a lot of competition, I want this group to differentiate from all the other Korean boy bands out there"

"And what does that mean?", I asked finally speaking.

He turns to me, "it means something's going to change drastically in this group starting today"

I gulped by his words. He made it sound as if he was going to kick a member out, or make someone go solo or maybe change our theme that makes us to unique.

I turn to Suga to look at me shrugging with his usual nonchalant expression.

Si-Hynk walks over to projected screen and picks up the remote from the table, turning back to us.

"I've been thinking to spice things up a little in this group. Meaning it will no longer be just the seven of you guys", he explains.

The seven of us all look at each other in confusion, understanding what the meant.

He wasn't kicking anyone out, he was adding someone in.

If you ask me it was a very stupid idea. BTS is already BTS why add another member who probably isn't even up to our level.

BTS started in 2013, why add a new member all the way in 2019. Who ever he was doesn't deserve to be in BTS.

I didn't like the idea.

"Another Member?", J-Hope asked him as he nodded answering all of our questions.

I rubbed the back of my neck trying to understand what the hell was going on his mind.

This had to be the worst idea ever. Adding another member if anything isn't going to make us look different. We're just gonna look stupid.

We've practiced all the dances, songs, music videos for just seven people. I've written dozens on songs just for seven people. Not eight.

"Thoughts?", he asked wanting our opinion.

All of the boys turn to me knowing I was the one who mainly spoke out my opinion on situations like this.

"Uh— sir. I mean — Si-Hynk. I don't really think adding another member is a good idea. I mean it's just been the seven of us for years. Adding another member would only confuse fans, BTS is known for seven guys... making 8 guys is just weird. Also you said it yourself that we are the best thing that happened to this company.. why want to change it?", I asked him causing all the other members to nod.

Si-Hyuk nodded taking in what I was saying, and then he continued.

"I never said anything about the eight member being a boy", he said before clicking the remote on the button causing all of us to look at him in confusion.

The screen turned on and there was a picture of this beautiful tan girl. Most definitely the prettiest I have ever seen. And I've seen a lot of tan people.

"woah" Jin said blinking twice.

"I've seen her before", Jung-kook mentions but none of us listen to him because we were too focused on looking at the beautiful tan girl.

"A girl? You want the Eight Member of BTS to be a girl?", I asked him maybe I wasn't hearing him right.

He nodded.

"But she's a girl. She can't be in boy band", Suga added.

I'll second that.

"She can and she will", Si-Hynk tells us.

I sigh, not understanding any of this.

"Wait... isn't this that girl from the BBMA?", V asked bringing all of our attentions to it.

Now that I think of it she does look quite familiar. Si-Hynk then presses another button, and then a gif showed up.

"Correct, Taehyung. Meet Normani Kordei formally known as Normani From Fifth Harmony" he explains as we all stared at the screen recalling that exact performance.

I swallowed hard, looking at the gif. Watching her face down, and ass up over and over and over again. It was like I was in a trance.

"Fifth Harmony? The girl group who made, "give it to me I'm worth it?", J-Hope asked.

"Correct", Si-Hynk said.

"So she's the eight member of BTS?", Jung-kook asked.

"Yes"

The boys and I all look at each other unsure of what to say or what to do at this moment. It didn't make sense.

Normani. The American girl. From an American Girl Group is joining BTS a Korean Boy Group That also is all boy band.

"Can we even speak Korean?", Suga asked causing all of us to turn by to our boss.

"No clue. Let's find out", he smiles turning off the screen, pulling out his phone and seconds later there was a knock on the door.
