《The Christmas Wish》Chapter 3

I'm shown to a beautiful cozy preparation room. It has an amazing antique red sofa and there are gorgeous flowers on the table. The view is breathtaking as it overlooks the ocean. Nice, I think. In fact, very nice. I'd expect no less from Kookie.

He and his show are top notch. I cannot believe that I'm meeting Jeon Jungkook of Kooking with Kookie. There is a huge gift basket on the table in front of me. It's filled with an assortment of small cakes, chocolates, and muffins. Oh my, there's also Kookie's new holiday cookbook in the back and a card attached. Oh goodness, it's for me! It says, "Thank you for being our guest". The basket has Kookie's signature all over it with the gourmet treats and beautiful presentation. All quality. Wow, this is too cool. Looks like I'll have some good treats and memories to take home. There's a soft knock at the door.

A tall handsome gentleman comes in and quickly walks over with a kind smile and extends his hand.

"Hi I'm Jin. I am the marketing director, publicist and a whole lot of other shit around here. Today I'm happily a guest greeter," he says with a chuckle.

"Oh, hi. I'm Kim Taehyung," I say as I stand and take his hand.

"Kookie wanted me to greet you in person to express to you how very excited he is that you are our guest today. He loved your video."

Oh My God! Kookie personally took the time to watch my video. He didn't pass it off to some assistant! I know he must be terribly busy. Yep. Top notch. That's Kookie.

"I'm so excited to be here and thank you for the lovely basket." I say as I nearly shake his hand off. He finally slowly pulls away. "Sorry, I'm just too excited!"

"Oh really, are you a fan?"

"I most definitely am." Okay, I need to tone down the fanboying.

"That's great. Kookie always enjoys meeting new fans and I'll tell him you like the basket. Taehyung, I'd like to go over a few things with you before you go on," Jin says looking down at his clipboard as we both sit.

"So, what will we be cooking today?" I eagerly asks. "I have both of Mr. Jeon's cookbooks and now the new Holiday Cookbook. I love the article he did last month in Eating Deliciously. Oh, that cover photo was too nice. He really showed off his beautiful buns." I quickly clear my throat. "I, uh, meant the tray of Raspberry Yeast Rolls he was holding, of course." I clear my throat, again.

Jin smiles and releases a soft chuckle. Oh goodness, I have to bring that fanboying down a few more notches.

"Taehyung, please call him Kookie when on camera with him. We want you to be relaxed and natural."

"Sure thing. Uh, I'll try."

"As far as what he'll be cooking that won't be part of your segment. We are having you tell your amazing story for a 15 minute segment."

I lower my head a bit, as my heart sinks. Then I remember what an honor it is to be invited.

"But, Taehyung, you can hang around in this prep room and watch from this big screen and meet Kookie afterwards. He'd love to meet you," Jin says as he continues looking down at his clipboard.

I can't help but release a soft gasp hearing that after the show I get to meet with Kookie off camera.

"What the meal is today, I think..." Jin says scanning a page on his clip board, "it's going to be..."

"Oh, today is Tuesday. So that's salad and a pie," I say as Jin scans his page.

"Well Taehyung, you are quite the fan aren't you?" He says looking over at me with a soft smile. "Here it says, mixed greens and spinach salad with maple-cider vinaigrette with crab and Kookie's own homemade maple-cider vinaigrette dressing. Also, Kookie's famous Pecan Pie"'

Loudly I let out an uncontrollable gasp as Jin quickly looks up from his clipboard. I must be the biggest dork he's ever meet.

"Oh my goodness that is too awesome. I'm sorry, I just love good food and Kookie. Uh, I mean the show. Uh, will Kookie be using the King Snow Crab, Jin?"

"Taehyung, I'm not sure." Jin says as he looks down at his clipboard again. "Oh, yes, he is. King Snow crab it says here. Well, how'd you know that?" Jin says with a soft laugh.

"Oh, Jin, Kookie is a 5 star chef and only uses the best ingredients."

Again, Jin nods giving me a soft smile.

We go over some other details and then Jin leaves as the makeup person comes in. I get into make-up and watch the start of the show from my monitor. An assistant then comes and moves me backstage.

The behind the scene view is a flurry of working and moving parts with people buzzing everywhere. Kookie makes it look so easy. It definitely takes a team to make this work well.

As I move in position, I see him. God, he's more gorgeous than I though. His body is lean but not thin.

Oh, my goodness, he looks even better in those pants then I could have imagined. Nothing like upfront and close. This is a one-time opportunity so I will take in as much as I can and enjoy years of memories later.

As I walk onto the set, the audience is cheering and wildly clapping giving me a standing ovation. The flashing applause lights go off yet the crowd continues to roar.

"Sit down, you are too kind and now you're just spoiling me!" I say to interject a bit of humor.

I do love my audience, however I just don't feel the joy I use to being on stage, yet I'm very grateful for them. The audience sits as their applauses slowly cease.

"Welcome to the show. What a beautiful audience you are. We have a really big show today and a very special guest that stopped by to see us."

The audience roars with thunderous applauses. It stuns me for a few seconds. I never get this reaction with most guest. This is off the charts.

Jin is in my ear piece. "Kookie say his name. They love him."

"Yes guys, Kim Taehyung is here!" The audience erupts again in cheers and most of them stand up. "This guy is a social media sensation. A hero and I have him here today for you!" The applause continues.

"Okay, okay settle down and we'll get him out here shortly. First, let me tell you what we are doing today. Can you believe the holidays are soon upon us?! Yes, they are. So today, I'm going to give you my ideas for a perfect gift for someone that is hard to shop for. Mom, grandmother, auntie or maybe an older woman that is special to you. Everyday we'll talk about the perfect gift for someone special. Moreover, these are all ideas on a budget. I don't know about you but I love a bargain. So what shall we cook today?" The audience claps wildly.

"Hahahaha, you guys just love to eat. You know I don't cook without sharing. That would be rude. Even if there are 300 of you here. Hahahaha."

"It's Tuesday! And what does that mean?!"

The audience shouts "Pie and Salad!"

"Okay so we are going to prepare a mixed greens and spinach salad with King Snow crab and my very own recipe, a delicious maple-cider vinaigrette. Hmm." I say scratching my head. "I seem to have forgotten something."

The audience shouts, "Pie!"

"You guys are so greedy. Yes, pecan pie." The audience roars. "We are going to a break and..."

Jin is in my ear piece and starts to speak. "No, Kookie, bring Taehyung out. Social media is buzzing."

"Wait, I've just been told that we are going to have our guest out first."

Again, the audience shocks me with the roar of applauds. Who the fuck is this guy? I've had movie stars and K-Pop top artists here and never had this reaction.

There's an energy in the studio that even I can feel. Shit, I wish I had watched that damn video. I want to get this right. Nevertheless, I relax a bit remembering that I'm good at what I do and I will get the most out of this guy for the sake of my audience.

"Without further ado, Kim Taehyung!"

The audience stands and roars with applauds once again. I walk over to my interview seating area and stand by my large comfy chair as he comes out.

In front of me, on the table, are my note cards with questions for Taehyung. I'm clapping and looking down at my cards for a quick second while the camera scan to him. I then I look up.

Oh my fucking God. This man is gorgeous. His face is perfection and then he smiles waving at the audience. His smile is the warmest and most inviting that I've experienced.

His hair is a natural light brown with soft natural waves and there a small tendril over his forehead that softly bounces as he walks. The image of him walking towards me is like no other.

He's wearing a white dress shirt and nicely fitted dark slacks. He is very well built. His muscular body is apparent as his shoulders are broad and his biceps defined as they push against the sleeve fabic of his shirt. Fuck, it's like he is moving in slow motion as the muscles of his thighs flex with each step.

I find my eyes wandering to his crotch and quickly remind myself where I am. I'm certainly no stranger to a good looking man but I'm without a doubt taken aback by Kim Taehyung. I swallow as he gets closer and I get my bearings.

I feel as anxious as a 12-year-old boy standing near his school crush. There's something about him that pulls me to him. There's an energy I can't explain, that I've never felt.

His smile is big and boxy and his eyes are a deep smoldering brown. They are intoxicating and beautiful.

He reaches his hand out to me and I automatically take it. I immediately feel a spark and quickly discount it in the moment. His grip is firm and I wonder what it must be like to be in his strong arms.

I tell my brain to knock it off. I gesture for him to sit and he does. He is looking out to the audience waving as they continue to clap.

My audience has suddenly turned into a fan mob for Taehyung. I'm a bit jealous but I get it. This man is hot and I don't even know his story.

Jin is in my ear again. "Kookie, settle down the audience so we can have a show. What's wrong with you?"

I then snap back into reality. "Alright, if you guys don't mind I'd like to do an interview." The audience chuckles and sits.

"I love you Taehyung!" One audience member shouts!

Another shouts, "You're a hero Taehyung!" Each time the audience roars over this guy.

"Welcome to our show," I say as I turn to him.

Then he speaks and his voice is heavy, deep and so sexy. Fuck! At this point I'm fanboying with my audience.

"I'm happy to be here. I absolutely love your show!" He says turning to me. "I watch you at home once a week."

"Taehyung, we are on 5 days a week. My feelings are a bit hurt." I joke and smile at him.

"Oh, no, Mr. Jeon I-I live in a small town and your show comes on our cable station only once a week. I think if you came on five days a week there, I wouldn't get any work done." The audience laughs. They love him.

"Kookie," Jin says, "social media is blowing up. Keep going."

This guy is warm and friendly. Jin is again in my ear. "Kookie pick up your cards and start asking him questions. You okay?"

I pick up the cards and flip the first one over. "Taehyung, please call me Kookie." He nods softly. "Please tell me about this amazing rescue."

He tells the story and I'm in awe. "Taehyung did you have any reservations before you jumped into that freezing water with those dangerous currents?"

"Of course not. Mrs. Choo and her little boy were in danger." I hear a slight edge in his tone and a bit of annoyance.

"Taehyung, have you gotten that question before?'

"Yes, Kookie, I have and I try to stay humble."

"What do you mean Taehyung? Please, speak freely."

"Okay. I will. Everyone assumes that I would think of myself first. That is the tone of that question and I find it annoying. People call it an act of kindness. I only did what was decent and what one human being should do for another. So no, I did not think about the temperature of the water or the current. My purpose was to aid Mrs. Choo and her son."

I'm amazed with this guy. He is the real deal and without motive. I now understand what Jin means by him being pure.

We get into the flow of a conversation and I feel relaxed as if I've known him for years. He is so easy to talk too.

Jin again is in my ear again. "Kookie, keep talking to him. He's a fan. Ask him to stay for the next segment."

I'm shocked. This has never happened. Jin asking to keep a guest over?

Usually, I can't wait to get some of these boring-ass guests off my set. But, Taehyung is different. He has the audience, me and millions of viewers mesmerized.

"So, Taehyung, you're a farmer and a long way from home. Tell us about your farm. How many chickens and cows do you have?"

"Well, I have none, Kookie," he says sighing heavily.

Again I've hit a nerve with him. Another misstep on my part. "Oh no animals?"

He then laughs and I'm stunned. Someone laughing shouldn't sound so sexy. For a second I contemplate doing something to make him laugh again.

"You people in the big city don't know much about farming," he says offering a bemused smile.

"I admit, I'm ignorant. So please help me and our viewers out."

His smile is adorable. Almost playful "Well, Kookie, most people think of an old fashion, stereotypical farm with chickens running loose, cows, horses, and sheep. No, I grow food to feed millions of people. The farm has been in my family for nearly 80 years. I do have animals, however, they are my pets and even family."

The audience laughs. He is terribly charming. I am drawn in and lean forward. "So tell us about these pets or family."

He displays a wide grin as I feel a warmth build in my chest and a closeness to him. "Well, I have two horses for riding, a dog named Yeontan or Tannie for short, and a potbelly pig name Zeus."

"Like the Greek God Zeus!? Hahahaha!"

"Yes, like the Greek God."

"Taehyung, I'd like to invite you to stay and help me in the kitchen today. Sounds like you're a fan of the show."

The audience's cheers as Taehyung's face lights up with a smile and sparking eyes..
