The red-head pushed away from the tree branch, flipping in mid air and landing beside me. I felt myself stiffen from reflex at how close he was, yet I merely stood there, my expression unchanged. I knew I had to say something, anything. The number one hyperactive ninja wouldn't just stay silent after an encounter like this. Once again, the show must go on, the show that seemed to never cease.

" Oi! Why'd ya do that!? You're lucky I didn't beat ya to a pulp, dattebayo!" I internally cringed at the volume and vocabulary in my sentence. I knew no one would pay attention to these words, but sometimes you never knew who was watching. I couldn't let myself fall into a false sense of security.

Gaara merely looked towards my general direction before turning his attention towards the Uchiha. His eyes seemed to describe everything; the hope for a worthy opponent, the blood lust and the excitement of a new sacrifice for Shukaku. However, his facial expression betrayed none of these thoughts playing within his mind and neither did his words. " What is your name?" The jinchuriki asked as he gazed intensely towards the raven haired boy.

Sasuke looked at him inquisitively before answering. " Sasuke, Uchiha Sasuke."

" And my name's Uzumaki Naruto, dattebayo! Ya better remember it!" I knew the script word for word by now, I knew what's expected from me and I still managed to deliver the lines flawlessly. The reaction was just as I'd expected, Gaara spun on his heel to head off, paying no more attention towards me. His companions scrambled behind him, making sure that he was in their line of sight. It disgusted me to see how they seemed to have no sense of trust towards their own brother, but I already knew that the world didn't trust 'demons' like us.

I watched him as he walked away, his back turned towards me. As I saw him leave my line of sight, I felt an odd sensation wash over me. I could already tell that this was going to get in my way. So, like with all of my other weaknesses, I pushed him away.
