Aidan's P.O.V

You'll be fine. They're going to love you." I promise May as I finish buttoning up my grey shirt, ready for the celebration.

"Ugh, that's not stopping me from worrying." She says, rubbing her face with both her hands.

May pulls on her jacket and some jewellery and turns around to look at me.

"How do I look?" She asks, looking uncertain.

She's wearing a blue, white, black and pink crop top with a matching flowy skirt. She's wearing black lace up heeled ankle boots and a black leather jacket. Her hair has a complicated braid and I can see some silver dangly earrings, she's also wearing a bracelet with a little silver wolf on it.

"Beautiful. But I do have something that you might like to add to the outfit." I tell her, pulling a velvet box out of the pocket of my black jeans.

She looks at me questioningly and takes a step closer.

I open the box and turn it around so she can see what's in it. It's a silver chain with a silver wolf pendant on it.

She covers her mouth and looks at me, surprised.

"Here, I'll help you put it on." I say, taking it out of the box and holding it up to her.

She simply nods and turns around, holding her hair out of the way.

I lay it on her neck and clasp the tiny clasp at the back.

"Aidan, it's beautiful." She says, holding the wolf charm in her fingers.

"I'm glad you like it." I say, smiling.

She looks up at me and runs in to my arms.

"I love it." She whispers in my ear and kisses my cheek lightly.

We stand hugging for a while before I realise that we have to get out there so I can introduce her to the pack.

"I hate to break this up and I know that you don't want to hear this. But we need to get down there." I tell her, pulling back a bit.

"Yea I know." She says, pulling away completely.

I grab her hand and we head downstairs and outside. There's a makeshift stage set up near the pool with a big open area of grass around it.

"Wait here." I tell her and leave her standing to the side of the stage and head up on to the stage up to where my dad's waiting for me.

The changing of alpha ceremony is over fast and before I know it I'm at the microphone getting ready to introduce her to the pack.

"Thank you everyone for your ongoing support for me while becoming alpha. I can't imagine a better pack which is why I am proud to announce that we will be having a new pack member. I would like to introduce everyone to May from the Midnight pack." I say gesturing for May to come up.

My pack members look confused. May reaches me and I wrap my arm around her waist and look back at the crowd. Some pack members have understanding looks others still look confused.

"May is also my mate and will take over the place of Luna." I say into the microphone.

There's a round of applause and everyone seems genuinely happy. All except for one group of girls which is not unusual.

"What?" Their high pitched voices ring out through the cheering.

I watch them as they strut through the crowd, pushing past those who stand in their way.

"What do you mean May is your mate. Everyone here knows that I'm your mate." The leader, Nikki says.

"Oh shut up Nikki. Everyone knows that you only wish you were because you want to be Luna of the pack." My best friend and now Beta Braydon says.

"No. Everyone here knows that I am his rightful mate and he just pretends I'm not because he doesn't want to confess his undying love for me." Nikki says, smiling tightly at me.

"Yea." Her friends say in unison.

I jump down off the stage and land perfectly on two feet. I walk purposefully towards the girls and the crowd parts so I make it there in no time.

"Nikki, I expect respect. I am your alpha now. No more games and lies. My rightful mate is standing up on that stage." I say pointing at May.

I watch her as she jumps off the stage and lands gracefully before walking straight to me and standing beside me and looking at Nikki. Looking at Nikki it almost seems like an aura is around May, she looks... powerful.

Nikki takes a step back before realising the frightened expression she has on her face and standing up straight, her face turning blank.

"You can't scare me by staring at me." Nikki says, smirking at May.

"Stop Nikki. Stop right now. If you disrespect her one more time you will be sent off of the pack lands. You will respect those higher in the pack or you will leave." I say, letting my Alpha voice out.

She bows her head but then lifts it back up.

"I will not be under the command of her." She sneers at May.

"Then you will leave." I say in my Alpha voice.

She puts her head down and turns and walks away.

She keeps walking until she disappears in to the woods.

"Can I have someone follow her until she exits the pack lands. If she tries to re-enter she is to be taken straight to me." I tell two of my pack warriors.

They nod and follow her.

"Now we can all enjoy the party. If you have any more complaints about my mate and your Luna you are welcome to leave the party. Everyone also please enjoy the party." I call out.

Everyone cheers and we continue with the Luna ceremony. Afterwards the celebrations begin and the music starts playing.

"Thank you for that." May says while we watch everyone dancing and having fun.

"For what?" I ask looking down at her and wrapping my arms around her.

"For being on my side and protecting me." She says smiling at me.

"Always." I say, kissing the top of her head.

"Come on. Let's dance with our pack members." She says, smiling at me and pulling me over to where everyone is dancing.

Just as we step on to the make-shift dance floor a slow song comes on.

I look over at the DJ, my friend Matt, who gives me a thumbs up.

I smile at him and mouth thank you before wrapping my arms around May's waist. In response May wraps her arms around my waist and I pull her closer. She rests her head on my should and I rest my head lightly on hers.

"I love you." She tells me.

"I love you too." I tell her.
