Aquila sighed slightly as she stepped out of the van that they had all been held in, only to see Sharon surrounded by a bunch of people she didn't know, which probably meant they were egotistical assholes.

"What's going to happen to him?" Steve asked Bucky the only thing on his mind as usual.

"Same thing that ought to happen to you." The man retorted back. "Psychological evaluation and extradition."

Yep, Aquila had been right. More egotistical assholes.

"This is Everett Ross PD Task Commander," Sharon said.

"What about a lawyer?"

"Lawyer, that's funny. See that their weapons are placed in lock-up." Everett stated. "Oh, we will write you a receipt."

"I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that," Sam said as the group walked out into an open corridor.

"You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. Now, do me a favor, stay in it?"

"I don't intend on going anywhere," T'Challa responded.

"For the record, this is what making things worse looks like," Natasha said, walking beside Steve, refusing to meet Aquila's gaze.

"He's alive," Steve replied.

"No. Romania was not Accords-sanctioned. And, Colonel Rhodes is supervising cleanup." Tony's voice reached Aquila's ears as they turned the corner to see him talking into his phone.

"Try not to break anything while we fix this," Natasha said, her gaze swinging right past Aquila's.

"Consequences? You bet there'll be consequences. Obviously, you can quote me on that 'cause I just said it. Anything else? Thank you, sir."

"Consequences?" Steve questioned.

"Secretary Ross wants you three prosecuted. Had to give him something."

"I'm not getting that shield back, am I?"

"Technically, it's the government's property," Natasha told him. "Wings too."

"What a shame." Aquila joked, knowing that there was no way they could stop her shapeshifting unless they forced her into a cage.

"That's cold," Sam commented, ignoring Aquila's previous statement.

"Warmer than jail."

Hey, you two wanna see something cool?" Tony asked, coming into the room where Steve and Aquila were being kept. "I pulled something from Dad's archives. FDR signed the Lend-Lease Act with these in 1941, provided support to the Allies when they needed it most."

Aquila sighed, knowing exactly where this was going.

"Some would say it brought our country closer to war."

"See? If not for these, you wouldn't be here. I'm trying to. . . what do you call it? That's an olive branch. Is that what you call it?" Tony said, bringing his hand to his face.

"Is Keira here? I thought she signed?" Steve asked.

"She did, she's probably. . . um . . . being busy somewhere."

"What happened, Tony?" Aquila asked, caring for her friend, despite them on opposite sides.

"It's nothing, really. Just a rough patch."

"I'm so sorry, Tony. I didn't know." Steve said.

"Well, after all, everyone already expected her to have left by now, hate me again like she did when we were kids. I'm a real handful. Yet, Dad was a pain in the ass, but he and Mom always made it work."

"You know, I'm glad Howard got married. I only knew him when he was young and single."

"Oh, really?" Tony asked sarcastically. "You two knew each other? He never mentioned that. Maybe only a thousand times. God, I hated you."

"I don't mean to make things difficult."

"I know because you're a very polite person."

"If I see a situation pointed south. . . I can't ignore it. Sometimes I wish I could."

"No, you don't." Tony retorted.

"No, I don't. Sometimes. . ."

"Sometimes I wanna punch you in your perfect teeth. But I don't want to see either of you gone. We need you both. Just sign, we can make the last 24 hours legit. Barnes can get transferred to an American psych-center. . . instead of a Wakandan prison."

Aquila just sighed as Steve picked up one of the fountain pens. "I'm not saying it's impossible but there would have to be safeguards."

"Sure," Tony replied. "Once we put out the PR fire, those documents can be amended. I'd file a motion to have you two and Wansa reinstated. . ."

"Wanda? What about Wanda?" Steve asked before Aquila had a chance to open her mouth.

"She's fine. She's confined to the compound, currently. Vision's keeping her company."

"Oh my god, Tony!" Aquila shouted, jumping to her feet.

"Every time," Steve said. "Every time I think you see things the right way. . ."

"What? It's a 100 acres with a lap pool. It's got a screening room. There's worse ways to protect people."

"Protection? Is that how you see this? This is protection? It's internment, Tony." Steve shouted.

"She's not a US citizen."

"Seriously, Tony?" Aquila asked, completely done with all the fighting.

"And they don't grant visas to weapons of mass destruction."

"She's a kid!"

"GIVE ME A BREAK!" Tony shouted, silencing Aquila and Steve immediately. "I'm doing what has to be done. . .to stave off something worse."

"You keep telling yourself that," Steve said, shaking his head. "Hate to break up the set."

"I'm sorry, Tony," Aquila said turning to her friend. "I hope things between you and Keira patch over soon."

Aquila walked out of the room, about to join Steve who had walked into Steve when a voice halted her movements immediately.

"Aquila."

"Hey, Nat," Aquila replied, her voice cracking slightly. "How have you been?"

"Fine," Natasha said, as silence fell between the two of them again. "So, you are still not signing?"

"I just can't," Aquila answered honestly. "It's going against everything I ever fought for."

"I understand," Natasha said, pulling Aquila to sit down with her.

"You do?" Aquila asked, not knowing of another example when Natasha accepted something she didn't like, that easily.

"I do," Natasha said, smirking slightly. "It's your decision. But who would have thought a few years ago, you would be a criminal?"

"Well, it wasn't in my ten-year plan, I can promise you that." Aquila joked. "But to be fair, neither were you."

"So, I stuffed up all your plans basically?" Nat joked.

"Pretty much, but I don't really mind anymore."

"I love you," Natasha said, capturing Aquila's lips with her own.

"I love you too," Aquila said, once the two had broken away, relief filling through her, that things hadn't changed between them just yet.

All the lights suddenly cut out, the only light were the emergency red alarms that slowly flickered to life.

Aquila's sharpened eyesight quickly picked up her surrounds and quickly rose to her feet, but was stopped by Nat's hold on her wrist.

"Please, don't do anything stupid."

"No promises." Aquila smiled painfully at the woman she loved more than anything else before hurrying down the corridor.
