《Set Apart》Chapter 68~

He was still ignoring me.

I don't know if it's because of me, or Violet threatening him, or even what Cory said when I could hear him screaming at Shawn through the walls about a month ago. Unfortunately, I couldn't make out what they were saying, but I gathered they were having a heated conversation.

But either way, he was ignoring me, and I was sick of it.

At first I was hurt. But now i'm just annoyed. Violet was right. He isn't the only one who has been through stuff and at least I can be civil.

I still love the boy to death but he needs to grow a pair and learn to be in the same room as me without yelling.

I needed some air.

As I grabbed my keys and bolted out of the door, I saw him. He was fumbling with his keys trying to get his door open. He still hasn't noticed I was there.

Do I do it?

Is this a good time?

Actually no.

There's never a good time for this shit.

It's now or never Cristina.

I walk up behind him and grab him by the back of the shirt. I drag him into my apartment knowing that if we start a screaming match, that Violet is at the store and won't be back for a while.

"Hey! What the hell are you doing?!" He shouted as I let go of his shirt and tossed him behind my door. I turned around after I let him go and locked the door. He finally turned around and saw who was dragging him. "Oh it's you." He said in a disgusted tone. Not gonna lie...that stung. "Move, i'm leaving."

"No."

"What do you mean 'no'?"

"I mean i'm sick of you avoiding me and acting like I don't exist. So no, i'm not moving or unlocking this door until we talk things through." I crossed my arms to show him I was serious and he rolled his eyes and scoffed.

"You couldn't just leave well enough alone, could ya?"

"You call this well enough?"

"Considering how i'm really feeling right now, this is civil."

"Fuck civil." I said angrily. "You wanna be angry at me? Fine, go ahead. Tell me everything you're thinking right now. I want everything out in the open." I really didn't want to do this part. But things have to get worse before they get better right?

He chuckled. "You know, when I first started to have feelings for you, one of the reasons I didn't say I liked you was because I thought I was gonna hurt you. But oh look how the tables have turned."

My heart sank slightly at his comment but we had to finish this conversation. "Shawn—"

"You said you'd never leave me." He bitterly interrupted

"I did."

"I let myself love you."

"You did."

"You said you loved me."

I inhaled deeply before answering. "I do." Right after I said it I could tell Shawn didn't like my answer.

"Well then why did you leave huh? Why did you leave? We got into one fight and you left. That was our first fight. OUR FIRST AND ONLY FIGHT! And instead of working it out like everybody else, you left." My eyes began to water.

"Was I the only one that thought that love was stronger than that? Was I the only one that thought that we could've worked it out? That after everything we had been through, we could've pushed through. So what was it? Did you think we couldn't do it?"

"No"

"Did you think we weren't strong enough?" He said with his eyes now turning glassy like mine.

"No"

"WELL THEN WHAT DID YOU THINK?!"

"NOTHING! I THOUGHT NOTHING! BECAUSE I DIDNT CARE ABOUT THE STUPID FIGHT THATS NOT WHY I LEFT!"

"WELL THEN WHY DID YOU LEAVE?! WAS I NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU?! DID YOU NOT LOVE ME ANYMORE?! WHAT WAS IT?! WHAT WAS SO BAD ABOUT ME THAT YOU PICKED UP EVERYTHING AND LEFT WITHOUT SAYING ANOTHER WORD?! THAT I HAD TO GO TO JUNIOR AND SENIOR PROM WITHOUT YOU?! THAT WE HAD TO GRADUATE WITHOUT YOU?! THAT YOU HAVENT TALKED TO ANY OF US IN YEARS AND EVEN MISSED CORY AND TOPANGA'S WEDDING?! YOUR BEST FREINDS GOT MARRIED AND YOU COULDNT EVEN BE BOTHERED TO SHOW UP!"

I finally let my tears fall and I turn around because this is all too much. I can still feel him screaming but I can't bare to look at him anymore. I can't hear him anymore. I tuned him out. Something I was really good at doing after the accident. I just focused on the ringing in my ear. And I was starting to calm down slightly until he turns me around.

"HEY I'M NOT DONE TALKING TO YOU!" I examined his face and tears were streaming down his face too.

"YOU'RE NOT TALKING YOU'RE YELLING AND I'M SICK OF YOU YELLING AT ME SHAWN!"

"YEAH?! WELL I'M NOT DONE! I HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO YELL AT YOU FOR 5 YEARS!"

"DON'T YOU THINK I KNOW THAT?!"

"WELL IF YOU WANT ME TO STOP SCREAMING THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD START EXPLAINING WHY YOU MISSED THE PAST 5 YEARS OF MY LIFE! WHY YOU VANISHED AND WERE NOWHERE TO BE SEEN FOR YEARS!"

All the screaming was stressing me out, I couldn't take it anymore.

"BECAUSE I WAS IN A FUCKING COMA!" I blurted.

Shit.

I wasn't supposed to say that.

I watched him as his face fell. "What?" He said softly. The tears began falling faster for the both of us now. It was too late to turn back now. I had to tell him the truth.

I had to tell him everything.

"I was in a coma for 3 and a half years."
