"Do you have everything? The cake? The flowers? The centre-pieces? Did my mom arrive? Where is the officiator!?"
A jumble of thoughts ran through your head as Mika, the second wedding coordinator, was barking out orders. Her frustration was contagious as it spread through the other workers and party planners.
"Ah, Mika don't stress out the others" you say apprehensively, only to be ignored by your best friend.
"GOD I DID NOT ORDER THESE FLOWERS! THESE ARE THE WRONG ONES!" she said as she held up a bouquet angrily. She shook it violently to the florist, who cowered behind Tsukishima.
"Mika, you're giving everyone a heart attack. The wedding starts in two hours and you're not even dressed yet." Tsukki bluntly mentioned to his girlfriend.
She also ignored him by fiddling with the chords and testing the microphones for the ceremony. Her eagerness for the wedding to be perfect was insane, but you understood why.
Today needs to be perfect.
"COMMON PEOPLE IS IT THAT HARD TO PROPERLY SET UP THE SOUND SYSTEM! WE WON'T BE ABLE TO HEAR THE VOWS!" she shouted onto the headset.
Nishinoya and Hinata were struggling to undo the mess of tangled up chords. Hinata smiled shyly as Mika towered over him with a scowl.
Yikes, he looks even smaller...
Mika held an irked face and sighed heavily into her clipboard. She took her pen and marked in frustration the tasks, circling and making side notes to herself.
"Mika. Relax please." Tsukki said in a soothing voice. He placed his hand on her shoulder but she's too distracted by the chaos in front of her
"Woah woah, watch out! Cake coming through!" Yams and Yachi declared.
They pushed the cart together meticulously as the cake slightly wobbled from the rough terrain. The cake was decked with a whopping ten layers, trailed with a variety of sunflowers. Two figurines were displayed on top of the cake and the whole thing was coming together quite nicely. However, a little bump of the cart and the cake wobbled to the left, making Mika gasp loudly.
"AGH!!" she yells as the cake almost falls on her. They stopped moving for a second and held their breaths. Their cake remained upright and everyone's shoulders relaxed in an instant.
That could've gone horribly.
You hold your hand above your chest and take a deep breath. You could feel the anger rising in Mika's throat as she was about to lose it on the two most innocent people. Tsukishima entraps her from behind with his long arms.
"Shhhh, let's not destroy everyone shall we?" Tsukki says into her ear. After a few minutes, Mika calmed down and turned around in his arms to face him.
She didn't say anything at first, but Tsukishima's touch seemed to have an effect on her. They both smirk at each other as she places her arms over his broad shoulders. He holds her affectionately on the hip and pulls her in closer. She drops the clipboard and he pulls down the headset from her ears. It loops around her neck as she looks directly into Tsukishima's golden eyes.
From where you were standing, you wish you had your camera to capture it all. They were a stunning couple in front of the altar. It was as if they were the ones getting married.
"Relax Mika. You can do this." he said gently.
"What would I do without you." she said in a low voice.
They sway a bit in each other's arms and you felt your heart race. A smile crept up your face as you watched Tsukishima comfort her.

"There's just so much to do. I haven't even had time to freshen up." she whined
"Let me help you with that." he offered.
"Hey Mika! Look! Your brother is messing up the flower arrangements!" Yams yelled pointing behind her. Mika turned around and before she could combust, she found no one there.
"What is what? Hajime isn't even here?!" she turned back around to see Tsukkishima on one knee.
"Mika." he said gazing up to her face.
"Tsukki, what, what are you..." she started to tear up as she covered her mouth in shock.
Yams made a slight fistbump to Yachi. They share a tiny laugh together and you could literally smother them to death. They were just too darn cute.
"Mika I want to play Dead by Daylight with you everyday and for the rest of my days." he proclaimed holding up a diamond ring. He smiled shyly as Mika's lips quivered.
You start giggling to yourself, knowing that's exactly the kind of proposal Mika would like to hear.
"I want to be there at every moment. Beat you in video games everyday and mock you about how much you suck at it. Okay, fine how I suck at it... And we'll bake strawberry shortcakes all the time for our birthdays. But most importantly, we'll never stop arguing about which dinosaur is more superior. I'm obviously right but-"
"Oh shut up and kiss me already" Mika said and they did just that.
Your eyes watered as you watched Tsukishima slip a ring on her finger. Mika cried the whole time as she let out an inaudible sound. You laugh as Mika's words were all gibberish. You felt the warmth in your heart creep through to your cheeks. You were in no doubt, very ecstatic for your best friend. You could see their whole lives ahead of them and it made you tear up at the thought.
"(F/N)"
You wheel yourself around to see Suga on one knee, holding an onion ring. Your eyes were welled already up as the tears rolled down your face unexpectedly,
"Suga." You say breathlessly.
"My sunset. My happy. My love." he managed to say. A few tears slipped out of his alluring hazel eyes, but he tried his best to keep his composure.
You hold onto his arms and he wipes your tears away.
"Oh no my makeup." You sniffled and laughed simultaneously.
"I love you still." Suga said breathlessly, "like I promised, my love for you is priceless"
He indicates as he slipped on an onion ring. A wave of nostalgia overcame as you remember so clearly the fake proposal from long ago. You were a mess of sobs and laughter; Suga caresses your face and you cup your hand on top of his.
"I will love you till the day I die. We'll have kids, grow old and even be in love when we're in heaven. We'll be the type of parents that our kids will know who were deeply in love. I know I wanted to wait until you were finished school, but I couldn't wait anymore. I wanted to start my life with you. I want you to take my last name and all of me, because I am yours."
"Suga, I love you so much." You sobbed as he leaned forward to gently kiss you on the lips.
All of a sudden, everyone starts balling their eyes out and clapping immensely.
"Okayokayokay." You say breathless, "we got a wedding to plan for."
"Okay, places people!!!" Mika yelled, wiping her tears. She hooks her arms one last time around Tsukishima, who flashed a warm smile at her.

"I'll take care of the rest of the checklist. You guys get ready." Tsukki noted as he picked up the clipboard.
You straighten Suga's tie and collar, ridding of imperfections. He smiles one last time at you before letting you and Mika get ready. You both head to the small cottage and get yourself decked out for this wedding. You exchange glances and she says,
"Our kids better be best friends."
"No duh" you mock, sticking your tongue out. She ruffles your hair lightly and you push her hand away.
Here's to a new beginning.
~
"Do you Tanaka Ryu take Shimizu Kiyoko as your beloved wife."
"Oh hell yes!!!" Tanaka boasts. The officiator raises a brow at Tanaka and he clears his throat, "oh sorry, um yes I do."
The crowd snickers amongst each other. Daichi laughed with Michimiya who got married. Asahi and Hinata were surrounded in a mess of balled up tissues. Kageyama listened intently as he played a soft melody on the piano. Yams, Tsukki, Yachi and Mika were whistling, hooting and flashing a bunch of photos. Nishinoya & Ennoshita stood by the altar, crying with each other and admiring how Tanaka won in life. Oikawa and Iwa however were trying to settle down their kids they recently adopted. It was a mess but it was beautiful.
"And do you-"
"Yes. Thousands yeses" Kiyoko said, surprising the officiator and everyone else.
"Well we'll just skip to the part where-"
"KISS KISS KISS!!!!" everyone cheered
Tanaka and Kiyoko meet in the middle, initiating their long awaited kiss. The officiator threw his papers, scattering them in the air, clearly giving up on his job. Tanaka dips Kiyoko further as petals flew down from the cherry trees.
Kageyama plays the piano gracefully while you bring the mic closer to your lips.
"All of me, loves all of you"
Tanaka picks up Kiyoko in his arms and spins her around.
"Love your curves and all your edges. All your curves and all your edges. All your perfect imperfections"
He carries her down the aisle slowly, entranced in one another.
"Give your all to me. I'll give me all to you."
Kiyoko links her arms in the back of his neck and kisses him again.
"You're my end and my beginning. Even when I lose I'm winning"
Tanaka's eyes tear up as he continues walking down the aisle. Their eyes glued onto each other as if they were the only ones in the room.
"Cause you give me all of me. And you give me all of you."
In no doubt, they were very much in love. Starting their journey together. Your heart races out of your chest as everyone waited for this day to happen.
Dad, I know Tanaka will take care of Kiyoko. If you were still here, you'd see how much they need each other.
You end the song and lower the mic. In the distance you see a familiar figure and you froze.
"R-Rin."
The crowd turned around as this ghastly woman sauntered over. Even after ten years, she hasn't aged a day. Everyone was glued to their seats with their mouths wide open. You prop the mic back onto the stand and wheel over to the woman in a hurry.
"(F/N)!" Suga calls out to you but you wheel yourself closer to her. Everyone's eyes trailed after you as you met her in the middle of the aisle.
This woman who took away your dad. Your ability to walk. Everything.
You stop and tilt your chin upwards to meet her vacant eyes. After all these years, you wanted to hate her. Scream at her. Blame her for the pain she's put you through. As much as you tell yourself that she was the reason she took everything, you stare into her eyes once more and slowly understand. She'd take because she didn't have anything for herself; she had nothing. She gave you one sad smile and gazed upon everyone who cowered in fear. Just as she was about to leave you grasp her hand and squeeze it.
She lost everything herself. This is someone who fell out of love.
"Rin." you said
She turned around and gave an apologetic smile.
"I love you, still."
In realization, you couldn't hate her. She was family. It didn't matter how much she hurt you, because she needed love too. She just wanted a home. A family.
Rin. You're not a horrible person, I see there's still good in you.
She kneels down to meet you face to face. Her black hair brushed against yours slightly from the wind.
"Stay for the wedding." you say bravely and you see tears form in her eyes.
She embraces you suddenly and you wrap your arms around her shoulders.
"You're forgiven Rin."
~
"Daad! Daad! Daaaad!" the five year old boy tugs onto Suga's blue, worn out pj's. He lies in bed as Suga holds up a frayed and torn yellow notebook. He closes the notebook but the boy was begging for more. He whimpers softly while his lips formed a tiny pout.
"Yes, Tenma?" he says pinching his nose.
"What happened to Kunimi and Kindaichi? Are they the bad people in the story then?" he asks with big brown eyes.
Suga smiles slightly and ruffles the little boy's hair.
"Nope not at all. No one is bad in the story, silly. They're all just misunderstood."
"Misunderstood?" he peeps while Suga tucks him in further into the blankets.
"It's when the message doesn't come across. Like how sometimes in volleyball, when a person doesn't communicate well and the ball drops to the ground." Suga explained
"And that's how they lose right?" he recited
"Yes. Exactly." he nodded, "Kunimi and Kindaichi were actually invited to the wedding. Along with Kageyama's dad. Kageyama-senpai is a detective and he went undercover with Kunimi and Kindaichi."
"But why did they do all those horrible things to mommy?" he cried a little and Suga swept up his tear with his index finger.
"They did those things, so Rin wouldn't be suspicious. They never meant it." he explained kindly and Tenma tried his best to understand.
"But, that's the story of how Rin found love again, and how I fell in love with mommy over and over. When you learn how to forgive, that's when you know how to truly love." he boops him on the nose and he bursts into a fit of giggles.
"What about auntie Mika?" He asks curiously
Suga sinks lower in the child's bed and nuzzles into his silver locks.
"Auntie Mika and Tsukishima got married with me and mommy in the same year. Then they both flew to Brazil for their honeymoon."
"That's nice. Why didn't you get a honeymoon dad?" He wondered, shuffling under his blankets.
"Because everyday with mommy feels like a honeymoon. And mommy was very busy being a doctor. She was saving lives." He explained
"Mommy is so cool." Tenma said in awe, burrowing further into his blankets. He slowly blinks his eyes, signaling to Suga it was bedtime.
"Okay, it's nighty night time." he whispers, kissing him on the forehead. Tenma yawns and his eyes flutter close.
"Wait, what about Grandpa Tenma? How did he come back to life?! And the vault in the mansion! What was inside?!" he exclaimed, fighting his fatigue. He grips onto his bear and Suga lulls him to sleep.
"For another day. I promise" Suga explained. A small pout formed on the child's lips and Suga tucks him in further. Suga laughs a bit at how persistent he is. He has the qualities of his wife that's for sure.
"Goodnight, I love you." Suga whispers.
"Love you dad." he smiles, cuddling his stuffed bear which held onto a yellow and blue volleyball. The one from his first date with (F/N).
He turns off the lights and shuts the door behind him. Shuffling his feet to the washroom, Suga notices the post-its on the mirror.
It read a variety of places; places where she'd fallen in love with him. Each one represents the years together, ever since high school. None of the places were significantly extravagant but that's what he loved about her. She was simple to love.
Suga grinned ear to ear. He was always reminded how loved he was and his wife didn't need to say a word. She knew him so well. After all, they've been married for a long time.
'Happy Anniversary' the middle post-it read.
Suga makes his way to the patio and there, (F/N) sat with her eyes closed and her hands on her lap. She was taking in the autumn breeze as her hair flew in the wind. She smiles to herself with the corner of her eyes creasing with age. There were strands of grey at the top of her head, similar to his own and her hands were worn out from her labor. She'd always get insecure about it, but Suga found these features indefinitely attractive. She aged well. Suga's heart stops for a moment, as if he was seeing her for the first time.
"He still asks for that story every night, does he?" she whispered with her eyes closed.
"He never gets tired of it." he smiled, taking a seat beside her. The old chair creaked from his presence.
They intertwine fingers and he kisses the top of her hand like he always does. The nightly routine that she craved for after a long day of work. Go to work, pick up Tenma from school, cook, play time and repeat. It was all worth it knowing she'd be coming home to him.
"You know that part, where you save Rin?" he mentions and she curiously looks towards him, "That's when I knew."
"Knew what Suga?" she asks, rubbing her thumb across his hand. His crooked smile and disheveled silver hair always took her aback. Growing old together, it was surreal. Every marriage had fights and bickering. Some days were harder than others. But they set aside their pride; reminiscing on their beginning and fighting until their end. They look at Tenma and know that he was made with love.
"Knew that no matter how many fights we have, how many obstacles we face... I love you still."
He smiled and she smiled back. Staring off into the distance they catch a glimpse of the sun setting into the horizon. The mix of purples and pinks blending with the blue of the sky. Just as the sun dipped lower, they admired it from afar, in awe as if it was the first time. Sharing the last sun set together, everyday and for all their days.
"Because you're my sun."
"And I am your sky."
------- end pt. 60 ----------
Thank you so much to everyone who's read this whole book like sheesh this is crazy??? Huge shout out to my close friend Mica Dela Cruz for encouraging me to write. I actually suck at explaining myself and spelling omg don't even get me started. I never ever saw myself as a writer, but I never knew I loved it so much.
I wrote this book because my therapist told me to channel my fears into something creative. I fell in love with this anime Haikyuu and well, Suga really spoke to me. I love him so much because he's the type of person I would love to have someday (God grant me this please, I am super single).
Not only that, I wrote this book because I went through a car accident on August 31st, 2019. It gave me PTSD and I had to see doctors, physiotherapist, kinesiologists, take drugs for the pain and even post accident counselling. It wasn't as severe as described by the book, but it hurt like hell (I still see physio till this day.)
I represented the main character having this fear of volleyball and how she lost it and compared it to my school as a nursing student. I had this scary clinical instructor who made my clinical rotations a living hell and due to that, she failed me. I lost sight of what I loved, but I was willing to find it again.
Taking the break from school for 8 months really made me aware I was more than just a nursing student. The main character has other passions such as art, singing and filming youtube videos, and I reflected her as myself.
I went through one of the toughest parts of my life but I was glad I could share it with people who share the same love for this anime and Suga
