*some spoilers from the manga, read ahead if you're okay with it :)*
As we've known, volleyball has come to an end for us.
"Butter for your toast?" Suga offers you a piece of toast and you smile giddily.
"Yes please." You say as you take it from his hand.
But somehow, I wasn't upset or filled with hatred
"Juice, my love?" Suga passes the apple juice box as he sticks in the straw for you. He struggles at first for only having one good arm, but he successfully pierces it through. It gave him confidence knowing he's still providing for you; you didn't want to shatter it for him. Besides, you found it very attractive that he was trying so hard.
Suga and I, our goal was to bring Karasuno to nationals.
"Of course." you take it from his hand and smile at the tiny picture of the dancing apple on the cartridge.
Even if we weren't the centre of attention...
Taking a sip, you both get comfortable in bed, turning the channel to the sports network. After weeks of debate, Karasuno was allowed to compete for nationals. We eagerly bundle up in our blankets and wait for the announcement: Karasuno vs. Inarizaki High.
It was better this way. That was our purpose.
You feed him a grape and his cheeks puff up from the food. You could hear the nurses giggle from the hallways. Nowadays, you and Suga have been the main topic of this hospital floor. They saw how we couldn't leave each other so they decided to move your hospital bed in his room.
"Do you need another pillow for your back?" Suga offers as he shuffles over
To uplift others. Our purpose
"No it's okay, thank you love" you smile upwards, feeling your heart flutter.
And even so, volleyball was never truly done for us.
You look upwards to Suga and he smiles warmly, "Whatcha thinking about?"
You sigh and lean your head on his shoulder, "Nothing in particular."
It never was really over. Not as long as he's here.
He squeezes your hand and mumbles with food in his mouth, "Oooh ooh it's starting!!"
I will always keep volleyball close to my heart. I've fallen deeply in love with it, his goal from the start.
You giggle at how ridiculous he looks. His childlike mannerisms would appear here and there, giving you more reasons to love him.
He gazes down at you and catches you staring.
"Yes, (F/n)?" He raised his eyebrows in the cutest way, the tuffs of his hair sprawled chaotically
"I like your birthmark." You poke the tiniest mole on the apple of his cheek. He lets out a light laugh and squeezes your hand again.
"You're adorable, you know that?" He smiles brightly.
As we watch the game together, during the commercial breaks, we'd play some card games that my mom brought when she visited. Suga's parents were freaking out just as much as your mom but then again, they were parents. And as embarrassing as they were, they'd catch us taking naps together and manage to steal pictures to post on Facebook. The comment section was filled with ring emojis.
"Ooh look it's Mika!" You say excitedly, almost spilling your apple juice.
Mika comes on screen, dressed in the Karasuno volleyball jacket. She holds her head high, smiling proudly into the sea of spectators. She grasps firmly onto the 'FLY' banner and on the other end,
"Yachi!" Suga admires
The small blonde holds the banner shyly, it almost covers her whole face as Mika was vastly taller than her. We laugh together watching the nervous wreck of friends. Nishinoya and Tanaka were cartwheeling down their way, while Asahi's legs wobbled out of nervousness. Tsukki walked unenthusiastically while Yams gleefully skipped beside him. Hinata and Kageyama were trying to race each other and you cover your face in embarrassment. Ennoshita, Kinoshita, and Narita all walk in unison with linked arms down the platform. Daichi was the only one walking normally as he facepalmed himself and shook his head vigorously. Lastly, Keishin and Takeda-senpai were the last ones and before they introduced the next batch of teams, Keishin signs something on the TV.

"Family. He said Family" you remarked
"Your signing stuck with the team" Suga beamed down at you, "It was really helpful during the Shiratorizawa match"
He holds out another grape and you pop it into your mouth.
We fulfilled our purpose.
~
After that intense match, you and Suga were counting down the days together. Even if it was a week in the hospital, time went by quickly with Suga.
"C'mon we're going to miss the next tournament!" he exclaimed as he hobbles in his cast.
His arm was still in a sling but his spirits never wavered. The sound of drums banged in your ear like a symphony. Saeko was proudly playing away with the rest of her mates; It brought a smile to your face. It felt like forever since you stepped foot into a volleyball stadium.
He pushes you in your wheelchair and the bright lights of the gymnasium flashed in your eyes.
Home. We're home.
"Can you see from here?" Suga asks as he parks you at a seat beside him.
"Yup. It's perfect" you smile, intertwining your fingers with his.
We watch the remaining Karasuno match against Kamomedai High. It was an intense match and out of nowhere, Hinata almost collapsed. Apparently his fever broke out and he had to be subbed out of the game. Your heart was heavy for him.
Poor Hinata. He must feel so crushed right now...
"Must be so painful for him" you spoke remorsefully into the gymnasium. Suga shook his head in sorrow as the paramedics brought him to the nearby clinic. Yachi accompanied him and before she left she stole a kiss from Yams. Worried faces were painted on Karasuno however, Keishin wasn't going to let panic overcome them.
Suga clutches your hand tightly and you pray for a miracle. Your other hand was holding onto your blue and yellow volleyball, envisioning yourself playing again. Your mind went blank when Karasuno's plays were getting more sloppier and desperate. You and Suga both wince and realize the game was over before you knew it. As the team left the court, sadly in defeat, they lined up one last time. This was their last set.
"Thank you for coming!" they boasted. They bowed profusely, unable to show their faces containing tears.
You and Suga cried but it was still tears of joy. We clap and scream our friends' names. We were so proud of them.
We made it to Nationals and we got to play. That's all that matters now.
A bittersweet ending to our high school volleyball. We knew we'd miss it but we'd never forget it.
~
"Graduation day. You made it" Mom said gleefully. She snaps a photo on her cell phone for the gazillionth time. The flash irritated your eyes as you grumbled,
"Mom..."
Kiyoko was helping you get ready for the big day as she does your make-up and hair. Mika was helping you choose the best outfit for the afterparty. Yachi however was setting up her camera, she didn't want to miss out a single second of it.
"Are you nervous at all?" Mika asked as she shuffled through your clothes. She creates a mess on your bedroom floor making you roll your eyes.
I gotta clean that up later ya know...
"No, not really? Why? Should I be?" you say as you gathered your hair to one side. You start picking at your split ends and Kiyoko lightly slaps your hand. Your hair has grown out a bit and it looked much better than that boy's haircut.
"Well I mean, you are top of the class and you have to give that big speech at the end of the ceremony. And, there are going to be hundreds of people..." Yachi says and Mika bonks her on the head

"Ouch?" the small blonde complained. She rubs her head and her mouth forms into a small pout.
"Don't make her more nervous!" Mika gruffed as she fought another war with your clothes
You chuckle and turn to your sister. She fixes her glasses and gazes upwards to you. She finished the makeup and continued to stare, you felt weirded out and avoided eye contact.
"What? Did you do something to my face!" you yelled and Kiyoko grabs the handheld mirror near your dresser.
"Nothing much really. I kept a more natural look for you."
You lift the mirror and for once, you look amazing. This was the one time you were caught off guard. Your eyelashes were long with the blush accentuating your cheeks. Your hair came down like a waterfall over your shoulders and your neck was lined with a dainty gold necklace your mom gave to you.
"Dad would be proud, (F/N)"
You lower the mirror and look at your sister. It was a few weeks ago when we had to bury dad again for the second time. The funeral home was confused and so were we, but it still hurt regardless. Knowing that we had to say goodbye again.
"Thank you, Kiyoko." you say and she embraces you in your chair.
"You've grown up so fast." she sniffed, "I wish I was there to see it."
"You're here now, that's all that matters" you smiled into her hair.
"D'AWW I WANNA CRY" Yachi sobs into a tissue and holds Mika tightly.
"Okay no time to cry!" Mika conceals her tears and swipes them away with her cardigan sleeve, "We got grad ceremony to go to!"
~
The graduation was long and Mika fell asleep during it, only cheering for the parts her friends were in. As expected of her but you weren't angry at all. She even brought the megaphone, which got confiscated by the principal. It was hilarious and it calms your nerves when you got up in front of the whole school to say your speech. The lights blinded your eyes as the principal handed you a mic. Public speaking was never your thing and you never thought you'd have the guts to ever do something like this. Your hands suddenly became clammy, but you cleared your throat and took a deep breath.
"When I first stepped foot at Karasuno High, I thought it would be my quick ticket to college and that's all I thought of it. I thought, if I graduated faster or get that dream job I wanted, I'd be happy. I thought if I could get enough money for my mom, I'd be happy. 'Being a 16 year old in third year courses is absurd', I heard some say to me. 'What's the rush?' they'd say. I thought that my future was right there and I could reach it as long as I stay driven and keep working hard..."
You shakily hold the mic and halfway through the speech you gaze into the crowd and find Suga. He's smiling the whole time and cheering you on. You regain your composure again and let out a small sigh.
"In some aspects, yes. I'm right that I should work hard and that I should keep studying until my eyes hurt... but the other part of me was missing something. I continued my life, knowing that there was a future for me, but I didn't even realize that I wasn't living my present. I wasn't present. And it's crazy to think that all the friend's I've made were all intentional and I wouldn't have met them if it wasn't for a certain someone who tricked me into joining a silly volleyball club."
A few howls came from the crowd as they all snicker and elbowed Suga. You blush and clear your throat.
"If it wasn't for this certain individual, I wouldn't be standing, or should I say, sitting here in front of you."
A few laughs snaked through the crowd and you smiled and waited before continuing
"I may have rushed this part of my life, where I was too eager to get ahead. But to my first and second years, yes I'm talking to you, Tanaka."
More laughs escaped the crowd as Tanaka finally awakes from his slumber, dazed. You continue on, saying,
"Enjoy the ride. Laugh and cry. Be present and have your moments. Find the time for yourself to live those moments of high school and everyday life. Appreciate what you have and what you're given."
Yamaguchi
"Even if you feel like you're not enough"
Tsukishima.
"Even if you think it's just a club"
Hinata
"Even if you fell short of your goals"
Kageyama
"Even when you feel alone."
You look at Suga again who has his hand close to his heart. You clutch the mic tightly and smile,
"Feel all of it, live through it, and find your purpose, because I know I've found mine. I thank the volleyball club for all of it. My word of advice, when you feel lost, you'll find your way in the most unexpected ways. I promise you. Thank you."
The crowd boasts out in applause and you happily cry your way down the auditorium. Certificates and awards were given and you'd think it'd make you happy but looking at them on your lap, they were nothing compared to what was in front of you.
"That was amazing!" Suga says as he runs to you. He embraces you and you peer up from his chest.
"Thanks to you" you murmured. He holds your hands and bends down to kiss you.
"Oop I got that" Yachi said as she flashed a photo. We smile and hold up our rolled up scrolls and say 'cheese' with our mouths stretched wide.
~
We all headed to our house for the afterparty, where you got changed into the outfit Mika picked for you. It was a yellow dress that curved down to the waist and stretched outwards to the floor. It had little sleeves that covered your shoulders and tiny sunflowers pinning it together. The party commenced while you were in your bedroom, hesitant to come out. Looking down at your wrists, you run your fingers on the faint ring that tainted them.
You wrung them like little cuffs and gaze out the window. A little knock on the door startled you as you wheel over to it.
"I wanted to give this to you earlier, but..." Suga mumbled through the door.
Opening it excitedly, you see Suga holding a bouquet of sunflowers but he drops them when he sees you.
"W-woah. You look ah, you um, wow... you..."
"If it's bad you don't have to say it-"
He interrupts you with a kiss and you cup the sides of his face, brushing your fingers through his hair. The warmth of his lips brought an ecstatic feeling throughout your whole body. It's the same rush that was indescribable; a new high that couldn't be matched. You pull him closer as he pins his hands at the sides of your wheelchair. He gently kicks the door with his back foot for more privacy.
In between kisses there's a fit of giggles as he surprisingly lifts you from your chair, bringing you into your bed. You gaze into his eyes that shone from the candle light at your nightstand table. He caresses your backside while holding you reverently in his arms. Gently, he places you into the comfort of your white sheets and joins you in one fluid motion. He hovers above you, taking in your beauty; his eyes glazed over with admiration. You look upwards and your hands hook onto the back of his neck. Your lips meet as they feverishly brush against each other. Skin on skin.
"We haven't done this in a long time" he mumbled in between kisses. You could feel his lips part slightly as he ran his hand down to your lower back.
"Felt like forever ago..." you mumbled, deepening your kiss.
"Can... we?" he asks hesitantly and you nod eagerly in response.
You hastily unbutton his shirt and he helps unzip the dress in the back. He lowers one sleeve and makes a trail of kisses from your shoulder to your neck and back again. Your breath shortens as he skillfully peels off the dress, letting it pool at your waist. Small whimpers escape your lips as your head tilts upwards towards the ceiling.
"D-do you think it'll be weird?" you say all breathy. He continues to kiss you as he makes his way downwards to your chest. He looks upwards briefly and chuckles into your skin.
"No, I promise... I'll try my best for you to feel it too." he whispers, unhooking the clasps from your bra. He gazes down with half-lidded eyes. A blush crept through your face as he gently lays you back down again.
"You're so beautiful, (F/N)." he smiles downwards and you reflect his smile.
"I love you, Suga." you whisper into his ear. Your hand moves downwards to his biceps, stroking them slightly with your fingertips. You could feel the bump from the bullet wound.
"And I love you." he says for only you to hear. His hand moves downwards, pulling off the rest of the fabric, placing it onto the other side of the bed. You undo his belt and help him slip off his dress pants.
Vulnerable yet familiar with each other.
Intertwining his fingers with yours, he's pressed onto you, cradling your back. Your back arches slightly as he showers you in kisses. The warmth of his lips spread throughout your body, as a wave of euphoria overcame your senses.
"S-suga" you panted as he made his way downwards, beckoning you.
"I don't want to hurt you (F/N)." he whispers, "we'll take it slow"
The pace was slow but your emotions were spiralling. Soft whimpers filled the room as Suga listened closely to your body's reaction while moving above you. His longing, his strength, his tenderness. You felt all of it as you pressed your fingers hard into his back, asking for more. You moved rhythmically against him, feeling the gentleness in his actions, allowing him to take you where you wanted to go.
"I... love you.... (F/N)" he panted, holding to your torso. He gazes down on your face filled with elation. You let out small moans while you grasp onto your bed sheets.
You could feel the knot inside of you, ready to burst. Tugging gently on his silver hair and staring into his eyes, you've both reached your climaxes as a sigh escapes your lips. He whispers your name one more time before collapsing on top of you. We shared a moment of silence, we didn't need to talk, knowing how much we loved each other. Words weren't enough to express it.
You tuck the strands of hair behind his ear and kiss his head that smells faintly of sweat.
"I felt it. I felt all of it." you murmured, breaking the silence. You felt his smile on your chest, making your heart skip a beat.
"I'm glad." he smiles, "I hope we can grow a family together. Our little family"
He hugs you tightly and burrows his face in your chest
"I hope so too..." you say as you caress his hair, "maybe after we have careers..."
A little snort comes out of his mouth as he says, "of course."
A knock on the door alerted our senses as Suga scrambles out of the bed. He crashes down with the bundle of sheets. Your eyes widen as Mika attempts to twist the doorknob.
"(F/N)! It's time to cut the cake and take pictures! What's taking you so long!" Mika bangs at the other side of the door. She lets out a huff of disbelief as you hear her footsteps exiting the hallway.
You and Suga haphazardly dress and Suga straightens his shirt even though a few buttons were misaligned. He pats your hair down and you giggle as he places you down on your wheelchair again. He plants one last kiss on your forehead and signals you to go downstairs first.
"When you said you wanted crazy right?" you say under your breath
"Well, I got it." He smiles widely.
~
"This is crazy!" you stare wide eyed at the massive gift in the middle of the living room. It was covered in yellow gift wrap and it towered over you as you wheeled towards it.
"Look (F/N). We got you a graduation gift!" Yams declared, "open it!"
The rest of the friends gathered around, all chit-chatting with excitement.
