I ran with the rest of the team to the presumed area that (F/N) was being held. I kept pushing forward even though I knew the they were reaching their limits.
"On your right!" Kuroo yelled and Oikawa reacted immediately to a guard closing in.
He wacked him with his pan and the man fell over with a grunt.
"Hm. Yams is right. This is useful." Oikawa admired it as he twirled the pan handle in his palm. Hajime lets out a slight chuckle as everyone advances forward down the treacherous hallway.
It doesn't seem to end... c'mon (F/N), hang in there.
"HEY WAIT UP!" a voice called from the left and I cocked up my gun in that direction.
The short figure holds up his hands and I relax a bit, realizing it was just Nishinoya. He was covered in soot and his hair was sprawled in all directions. It looked like he was running for a while as he held a bag-pack suited with extra explosives.
He hasn't used the rest of the bombs? But Where's Tanaka?
"I found Kiyoko and told her to get Tanaka!" he exclaimed, reading my mind. He was panting heavily as the backpack seemed to have weighed a lot for the tiny boy.
"No time to waste. I have to open the door to that room, but it closes within 10 seconds. Not sure if you can all make it in time." Kenma guided as I heard some furious clicking on his computer.
"You have to decide who is willing to go in the room first. The rest of you can wait outside with team C" Yams explained to the team.
They all nodded in response but they knew that two people at most can fit in that small amount of time.
"The door will close and once you're in, I can't open the doors for you to come out." Kenma said nonchalantly.
He was always calm and it always caught me off guard. It's like the video game had multiple levels and all Kenma wanted to do is keep playing, even if he gets eye strain,
"You have to make a decision quickly, or else no one gets in the room. Over."
The clicking of the walkie gave a few seconds to recollect my rampant thoughts.
"I need to go. It's my best friend we're talking about." I declared to the group.
We were all running at a timely fashion, not wasting any precious seconds that could be vital to saving Suga and (F/N). Suga made it to the room, but he didn't come out either.
Why hasn't Suga said anything?
"No. I won't let you." Tsukishima demanded on the walkie. I stop abruptly, causing Toma to bump into my back.
"HEY!" Toma yelled as she waived her arms frantically, finding her balance again.
"You can't decide for me dumbass." I swore into my earpiece, "Don't be so selfish right now!"
"What if it's just you in there stupid! You think I would let you do that? Do you not care about how I feel?" Tsukki's voice was wrapped with concern and for once, I saw him as an overprotective boyfriend.
I never considered how he felt, watching all of us running into a bloodbath. It didn't matter because I was so close to the goal and I wasn't going to let anyone get in the way. Even if it's my boyfriend.
"You don't get a say." I snarled. Before Tsukki could rebuke, Yachi screamed,
"MORE ON YOUR LEFT!"

The rest of the team tensed up and charged in their direction, unfortunately, Kenma also opened the door at the end of the hallway. The door that divided (F/N) and the rest of us. It was opening slowly, but without hesitation I ran in the opposite direction of my friends.
"MIKA PLEASE!" Tsukki screeched into my ear, but I ignored him as I ran as fast as I could towards the metal door.
I'm almost there!
I slid across the floor and I used my hands to propel myself further. The creaking of the door suggested that it was soon to close. Kenma was spot on with his prediction, only one of us can make it for sure.
"Mika!"
Just as it shut closed behind me, my heart raced out of it's chest as I hid behind crates full of who knows what.
It's fine if it's just me. I work better alone anyway.
"Don't make such foolish mistakes, Mika" a hand shot out as it grabbed my shoulder. I hold out my gun briefly out of paranoia. Looking behind, it was my brother. My hands stop shaking briefly as he looks sternly into my eyes.
"H-how did you-" I stutter only to be silenced by him.
"Baka. I knew you'd do something like this." he whispered angrily as he uncovered my mouth.
My hair was sticking to my forehead from all the sweat and Hajime looked just as haggard.
"You can't do everything alone Mika." Hajime scolded as he peeked around the corner, behind the crates.
"You always need to find some way to scold me, don't you." I hiss as I also peek from below him.
"It's either that or your boyfriend, but you don't seem to listen to him either" he retorted as he used his night vision goggles to see further.
"Stupid boys... both of you annoy me" I muttered under my breath.
"I heard that" Tsukki sighed as he twirled the headset chord.
Intentionally ignoring him, I whisper, "What do you see?"
It was surprisingly dark in the room but a few ceiling lights provided some sight. He dropped the goggles to his chest and I slapped him in the thigh.
"What? What is it?" I demanded, tugging on his dampened shirt.
"My teammates... Kindaichi and Kunimi are here." he said in disbelief.
"What, give me that!" I demanded as I pry it from his neck.
He's right. His teammates are here. But why? Kindaichi and Kunimi were always sus to me but I didn't think they'd stoop this low to kidnap someone. Plus, it's (F/N). Weren't they good friends in highschool? or was that all just a gimmick to getting close to her. Her own cousin, Kindaichi... who would've thought.
I shake my head in disgust and give the goggles back to him.
"Who's that other man over there? And that woman? She seems frustrated." Hajime asks as I gaze over to the other figures in the room. My jaw drops as I see Kageyama's father and...
"(F/N)'s DAD!?" I say aloud, making Kindaichi turn around. I duck immediately behind the crates and Hajime bops me in the head.
"Baka Mika" he murmurs angrily and I mouth a "sorry" at his direction.
Watching from the sidelines, I notice Suga descending from the ceiling. I thought to myself and prayed he was going to make it out safely but Kunimi and Kindaichi grab the two of them and pull them down with force. It was a blur of events afterwards. As much as I wanted to run in there and kill that raven haired lady myself, Hajime held onto my arm to restrain me. He was right though. It was too dangerous to enter haphazardly into a room full of armed people. Especially if it costs Suga's and (F/N)'s life.

"As much as I know you want to do something right now Mika... we have to wait for the signal from Team C" Hajime growled into my ear as I tried to pull away from him.
Stupid! We're just going to wait here until they get shot?!
I furrowed my brows and grinded my teeth. Hajime knew exactly what I was thinking and it pissed me off.
"What we're just going to wait until our friends get shot?!" I whispered harshly to him as he grips even harder onto my forearm. I twitched with irritation but Hajime's persistence was hard to shake.
"Can you just listen to your brother for once?!" Tsukki demanded as he tensed up from watching the scene play off on the monitor.
"Time to end this" the lady dressed in black hissed. She marched forward with her gun ready at her side.
Everyone held their breath. Even those who were patiently waiting in the car. The anticipation was killing me and I wanted to shoot this bitch. Tsukishima watched closely with Kurroo as they huddled closely to Yamaguchi's laptop. Yachi and Yam held onto each other for dear life, as Kenma waited patiently to give the signal. For once, Kenma was speechless as his hands trembled over the 'enter' button.
An earth shattering bang let loose within the room. My eyes widen to see Suga's blood coating the floor. Hajime and I were crouched down, speechless at this woman who had no hesitation to shoot him. Hajime muffled my screams and held back my desperation.
No one was talking. Not even a peep from Bokuto. Team A and Nishinoya ran outside and prepared to plant a bomb, but when they heard Suga got shot, they were immediately in panic mode.
"I need to do something. Anything?!" I said desperately to my brother but he begged me to stay put.
"Wait for the signal" he growled as I wriggled underneath his strong grasp.
~
"HOLD ON YOU IDIOT!" I screamed as I held onto the motorcycle handles until my hands grew weary.
"I'm tryyyyingggg" Hinata screamed as he held tightly onto my torso
"Hey stop swerving" Akaashi commanded as he drove in from beside me. His black hair blew in the wind and I envied how badass he looked. I gaze slightly behind at Hinata whose mouth was wide open in exasperation. He's used to bikes but not motorcycles.
As a matter of fact, I'm not either.
The gust of wind was picking up from how fast we were going. I never knew how to use something like this, neither drive for that matter. The fact that Shimizu-senpai, (F/N)'s mom, allowed this was even more appalling.
"Almost reaching it boys. Brace yourselves" she commanded as she revved up the engine. Her black hair blew from behind her as she nearly popped a wheelie. She was nonetheless, a really cool mom.
Wish my mom was like that...
"Kageyama focus on the road!!!" Hinata demanded as he squeezed my guts. I wrung the handles forward, causing an unprepared acceleration down a hill.
"BAKA KAGEYAMA BAKA!" the ginger yelled over the wind.
"Heyheyhey! Akaashi!!! Are you almost there?!" Bokuto spoke excitedly over the ear pieces.
"No, not yet. Why what's going on?" he responded coolly.
Akaashi was here because he was very skilled with archery. I wasn't too sure what they were going to use him for but, let's just say we tagged along because we were curious. Kiyoko held onto the back of Akaashi, but she remained silent the whole ride there. Something must've happened and she didn't want to tell us.
"Kageyama." she spoke aloud over the wind, "Your father. He's there in the mansion"
"What?" I say as I couldn't comprehend her.
"I said- never mind... let's just get there" she said dismissing my question.
"Step on it Akaashi." she said lightly tapping him on the shoulder. The engine roared as it made their way past us to catch up with (F/N)'s mom.
We're just slowing them down...
"YAAAHOOOY! GO KAGEYAMA! WE CAN CATCH UP TO THEM!" Hinata insisted and I smirked at him saying,
"I bet I can hit the 100km mark." I say confidently. Hinata snorts, "I bet you'll get pulled over"
"Deal." I say confidently and suddenly I burst forward, causing Hinata to let out some colourful words of his own.
~
"EVERYONE BACK AWAY!" (F/N)'s mom directed with her hand outstretched. She stood beside Akaashi who was mentally preparing himself.
Everyone stepped back from the wall as Noya slapped on the last explosive from his backpack. He ran away like a child as they all huddled from near the van.
"Akaashi now!" Bokuto yelled
With Akaashi's precision with the bow, he draws it with silence and aims at the explosive on the wall. He closed one eye and everyone admired him from afar. He withdraws his hand swiftly and it flies exactly dead centre to the explosive. It makes a whooshing sound before the massive wind caught all of them off guard. They all shielded their eyes and ears as they watched the explosive create a massive hole into the wall. Some 'ooh's' and 'aahs' were let out as they watched sparks flicker before their eyes.
"Ah to only be like Akaashi" Toma admired and Bokuto nodded in agreement.
Noya, without hesitation, ran into the fire, holding a smoke screen bomb in his hands.
"What are we going to do with him..." they all wondered, blinking in confusion
"What are y'all waiting for? Let's go!" Shimizu senpai yelled as she charged after Noya.
They all stood there in wonderment and sighed, "She's such a cool mom..."
~
I was exhausted and the fact my hands were still tied together didn't make it easier for me to give proper CPR.
Gazing downwards at his face you notice how lifeless it was. The colour sucked out of it and the cheeriness, warm, kindhearted Suga was dormant. Breathing all the air you could muster into his mouth, you continued your CPR in a fast manner. You never had to do this before and the fact you had to keep pushing into Suga, terrified you. His life was in your hands and all you could do was keep pumping.
You can't leave me yet. We promised wherever you go, I go. Please Suga. We had so many plans together. We can't just end here. We don't end here!
Your eyes were sore from all the tears it was making in a short amount of time. Your lips trembled as you bit the inside of your cheek to stop yourself.
Looking upwards to the ceiling, you pray for a miracle. Praying that I'd be over. You notice your mother, hovering over your dad's dead body. It was unbearable to watch.
What kind of monster does that to her own brother?
"I-I'm... I'm" Rin choked on her own words
Your mom crouches down and closes her husband's eyes for the last time. She folds his arms neatly over his chest and kisses his forehead. She mumbles something that was kept between the two of them. You couldn't read her face but it wasn't angry or remorseful. She stands up with her hands at her sides. Her back was facing you as you still continued CPR but you were curious about her reaction.
Mom's temper is a short fuse, once you activate it, you'd have to give her a lot of space and time for her to recover. Dad would be the one to console her, he was best at it.
"Rin" she called out to dad's twin
Rin stood there still in shock. It was as if she was still processing that she shot her own brother.
"Are you happy now, Rin?" your mother asked. Rin's face was full of dread as she slowly backed away from my mom.
"SHIMIZU-SENPAI!" a voice cried out from the corner of the room.
Mika stood up and ran forward to Rin and your mom. She held out a gun as she trembled on the spot, still eager to shoot. Hajime ran behind, trying to grab her from her shirt, but he was just a few seconds too slow.
"Mika!"
Her hands were shaky as she aimed the barrel to Rin. I knew Mika's intent. As much as I wanted to stop her, I couldn't. She remained silent as she held the gun with her finger over the trigger. Rin looked like she wanted to say something, but the gun prevented her
"Mika! Stop!" her brother yelled, but she remained still with the gun still in her hand.
"Give me a reason not to shoot you." she grumbled under her breath, clenching tightly on the handle.
She glanced down at the fallen figure that was your father and she swallowed the lump in her throat. Your hands grew weary as you continued to pump on Suga's chest.
They shot wide-eyed glances at each other. Mika to Rin, Rin to your mom and mom back to Mika. Your mom stood there, silenced by the violence that would ensue.
"GIVE ME A REASON!" Mika screamed. Her voice was scratchy with her eyes red from crying.
"Mika please! This won't get her dad back!" Hajime reached over to Mika and hugged her from behind. She stood there, silenced. Her brother's words seemed to have triggered Mika, reminding her of her own father.
She slowly lowered the gun and dropped it to the ground. It went down with a 'clang' as Mika sobbed in her brother's arms.
Hajime. That must've been hard for her...
~
Just as that was happening, Shimizu-san also directed earlier to the others to grab the yellow & blue volleyball. They asked curiously as to why it was important, but she rather not answer their question. There was something more powerful than money in that vault. Tenma would've given it up easily if it was just money; there was something he wasn't sharing.
As the boys seek for the volleyball Kageyama notices it on the ground near the vault and lunges for it.
"FOUND IT!" he exclaims. But before he could reach down to swoop it up, another hand also reached for it.
"D-dad?" Kageyama hesitated to look him in the eye. All he knew about his dad was that he was a detective, however this was nothing like he imagined.
His dark blue eyes pierced through his' as he trembled to pick up the volleyball. Kageyama managed to grasp it between his fingertips and slowly rose from the floor.
"Give it to me." his dad demanded.
He hesitated at first as he slowly retracted his hand. As his dad was about to grab it, Kageyama tossed it backwards and screamed,
"HINATA!"
Hinata ran for the volleyball and jumped with joy. However, being used to playing volleyball, Hinata didn't grab the ball but spiked it right towards Rin.
"BOKE HINATA BOKE! You're supposed to catch it!!!"
"GOMEN! I'M USED TO IT!!!"
The ball shot straight towards her face and she went out like a light. As it bounded off her face, they all rallied for the ball between Kindaichi and Kunimi.
"Grab it you idiots!" Kageyama's dad screeched.
The ball bounded back and forth in a stream of yellow and blue.
~
I'm so tired...
After 5 minutes of CPR, your hands start getting weaker.
"Suga please..." you mumbled with your last breath.
Collapsing to the ground, you pass out beside him, holding onto his hand.
"Suga..."
The tiniest breath escaped his lips, but it must have been you on the edge of hallucination. Everything turned black as you held Suga closely, taking in the scent of home.

Reality Grants One Chance
Some people are lucky, some aren't, some - have terrible luck. Our "hero" is of the latter kind. During young age he got into an accident, which allowed him to learn the fact that he belongs to a rare group of people.. People diagnosed with lung cancer, which he, however survived. Can't say he's lucky, as his life went downhill from that point... Our story happens years later, when his fate decides to make a loop and throw him in the same kind of accident. He gets hit by a truck. Surviving the crash, suffering just a few scratches, he is ultimately "lucky" to find himself out of the hospital in no time.. however every bit of good luck always brings him terrible luck afterwards. This time pushing him maybe a bit too far.. How far? Making him vanish without a trace and find himself in the middle of an unknown forrest. Doesn't sound bad? He can consider himself lucky? Just wait and see...It can always get worse.. always.. .... Congratulations, you've made it through the intro and into the author note! If you by any chance missed the tags and didn't read the warning, please do that now. I really recommend you to. Before you jump to reading, and unintentionally scar yourself, do mind that the story is about a dark, unforgiving world, a world in which you have more opportunities to die a horrible death, than take a piss. Hero doesn't have great luck, he has dumb persistance, he doesn't go through any trial with a breeze, he pays the price of blood, flesh and tears to live..and will be paying for every mistake.. No one outright explains anything to him, just as us for the most part - he is not sure what the hell is going on.. Some real survival tactics are used as a base of the descriptions, they are as important to the world and character as any other element.. Mind that the story starts really slow, but as the stone starts rolling downhill - the pace gets faster.. Every tag for this novel has a reason to be there, so if you don't see the particular element there, don't panic.. it's either well camoufalged, subtle or simply not encountered as of yet. Big thanks to Hobbo, Enyhrye and Hveth! ...not only pointing that the description could be better, but providing invaluable input.. and being patient enough to give fleshed out advice.
