"Let her go! If you lay another finger on her, I will slit your throat" your dad growled.
You turned around slightly with your black eye squinting at the figure that is supposedly your father. It was blurry but nonetheless, it was him. The eyes, the hair and the gentle voice you've come to know and love. He was there standing before you, with his hands up in defeat but his face filled with hatred. The beating of your heart deafens you, for you were certain he died.
I watched him die. We had a funeral. How is this possible?
"Why why, if it isn't my brother. Last time I saw you, you were deep in a ditch somewhere. Why won't you just die already?" Rin daunted as she sauntered over to him. Her gown trailed behind her with her high ponytail swinging back and forth. The clicking of her boots spoke danger.
She knew he was still alive? I knew there was a sibling rivalry to the point of killing one another, but not LITERALLY?!
You dad's fingertips held onto the vital key Rin was seeking for; The blue and yellow volleyball. It was balanced on his right palm with his other hand up in surrender. His blue sharp eyes emitted a chilling atmosphere, adding onto the dreary bleak walls that held you captive.
"Let her go and I'll give it to you." he spoke sternly. She made a small snort as she stood face to face with him. Her arms criss-crossed over her chest as she glares intensely at her sibling.
"Not so fast." Her cold voice made your hairs stand on end.
"What the hell?! Dad? How are you... how did you... I WATCHED YOU DIE?!" you screamed from your chair, only to be silenced by Kunimi. The palm of his hand was firmly over your mouth, muffling your terror.
"Yes. Would you like to explain to your daughter why you left her? Like how you left us? All you seem to do is run away like the coward you are." She hissed.
"Please (F/N), forgive me. I never wanted this to happen. I never meant to hurt you."
It sounds like an apology made for Rin. How unfair... How cruel... How selfish!
"BUT YOU DID!" You moved your head away from Kunimi's grip, "you're alive and you didn't bother to come back?! You just left us? How can you do such a thing!"
Kunimi slammed your head to the table as you wriggled underneath him. You gasp for air only to inhale the pain you felt from your beloved father. Hot tears stream down your face as you feel the coldness of the table pressed against your cheek.
"Why didn't you come back home!" You said with a hoarse voice. You could barely grasp onto your own words. It was too painful to say it.
Where were you when I needed you?
"I couldn't come back... I already risked your lives in that car accident. I don't want you to go through that again. Not when she's after me." You dad explained with sincerity. Tears slipped from your eyes as it made little droplets on the table. Your dad held a pained face as he watched you suffer deeply.
"Oh boo hoo. My heart is filled with great sentiment. I tore a family apart. Well you know what, (F/N), this isn't the first time he thought about himself"
He was silent for a moment as he gripped harder onto the volleyball that was once your beloved childhood toy.

"I'm human. I make mistakes." Tenma mumbled. Rin slapped him hard across the face but he still held on tightly to the volleyball.
"You left me and dad for that girl? You had a wedding and didn't even bother to invite me!? Do you not care about your own sister? Your own family?! DO WE MEAN NOTHING TO YOU?" Rin spat with distaste.
Still recollecting himself from the blow, he slowly turned to his sister with apologetic eyes. He retracted his arm slowly as he inched the ball closer to her. She swipes it away and glares deeply in his dark eyes. They were sunken into his sockets and his skin was pale and clammy. Not a wink of sleep has fallen on your poor father's face as he blinks slowly towards his sister. She inspects the ball with scepticism as her eyes narrow on the faded, 'Udai' written on its surface.
"Please just let her go. She did nothing wrong." he mumbled.
His twin remained silent as she bounced up and down the volleyball with the tip of her fingers. The sound brought clarity, but it was menacing at the same time. Strange how something you love could also make your stomach feel queasy.
"Please just let her go." He repeated. Her eyes darted back and forth between you and your dad.
"Kindaichi dear, bring her here." she gestured with a slight head nod.
Kunimi let you go, but the throbbing was a perpetual nuisance in your ears. You felt light headed when you were lifted up in your cousins arms. Your whole body ached, waiting for some relief; however, more pain awaited you as he brought you closer to your dad.
He could've come back? Why didn't he come back for me? For us?
Kindaichi set you down and your legs feel like mush. The uneasiness of your breath and your cold sweat made everything feel like a haze. You felt like throwing up as your insides churned.
"You better not be lying to me Tenma." she sneered as she harshly brought you forward, "you know I can't stand liars"
"I promise, just give me my daughter." he said all breathy as he held out a hand towards you. You're inches away from the sweet scent of which you called home, but it was different now. You didn't know what to believe anymore.
"Mom." you croaked, "you lied to mom..."
"Ah, I see... I'm not the only one who thinks you're a liar." Rin spun around on her heels as she made her way to the vault. Your dad's eyes were filled with remorse. Tears pooled in his eyes as he waited for you to come closer. The sureness in his actions made your resentment disappear as you stepped forward into his open arms.
Home. Dad. I've missed you.
"Kageyama-san" Rin commanded sharply.
A sudden arm wrapped around your torso, forcefully pulling you backwards. The sound of several guns clicking filled the room.
"DAD" you screamed desperately.
"HEY!" he shouted.
You were forcefully pulled apart from him and you watch the distance grow further and further. The safeness of home was so close.
"Dad!" you cried hoarsely. A cold barrel of a gun was pushed against your temple with your body pinned forcefully against the gunner. You thrash against Kunimi's strong arms as he holds a firm grip on you.
A gun was also pointed directly at your dad's forehead. He held up his hands in defeat as he trembled on the spot.
"It's been a while, old friend." Kageyama-san said dauntingly

"What is the meaning of this! We made a deal! I already gave you what you wanted!" You dad pleaded
"But I didn't get what I wanted yet." he said with a low voice, "Kiyoko is mine."
"NO I WON'T LET YOU." he screamed, unafraid of the barrel pressed onto his forehead. A fire burned in his eyes, similar to the ones he had before playing at tournaments. Except this time, he needed to win.
"THEN I HAVE NO CHOICE!" he screamed as he reloaded the gun.
NO DAD, DON'T!
A loud boom was heard in the distance. The ground shook and it felt like an earthquake was on the rise. Everyone turned their heads and Rin stopped herself from tearing open the volleyball.
"Guards! Check the premises." Rin shouted as they left into the maze of a mansion, "Looks like we have company."
~
"Testing testing. Big Rooster to 'Little Owl Head', do you copy?" Kuroo said through the walkie talkie.
"Seriously why am I 'Little Owl Head'? What is that supposed to mean? Are you saying I have a small head?" Bokuto hissed from the walkie
"You're supposed to say: 'Yes I copy, over.'" Kurro sighed as he placed the walkie talkie on the dashboard. His legs were propped up as he laid low in the passenger seat. Tsukki, with his headset, was listening intensely to both teams.
Kuroo, Kenma, Tsukki, Yams and Yachi were all waiting patiently in the van as they were the assigned "eyes" of the crew. They monitored the team through their laptops and it was Yamagucchi's job to hack into the security cameras. Kenma was also on his laptop typing away with a headset on. They both looked like they were playing an intense video game. Except, I only get one life or its game over. Forever.
"Yeah, but what's the fun in that!?" Bokuto whined
"Is this really the time?!" I shouted from my walkie.
I was situated on the roof of the mansion. One false move and I'd fall to my foreseeable death. The wind blew fiercely as my bangs covered my eyes. I grip onto the roof with my gloved hands. It felt like rock climbing except there's no harness, and no person to catch me when I fall. My ankle was still throbbing but I remained as still as a statue.
Don't even ask me how I got up here...
As soon as Yam's has located (F/N)'s position within this multimillionaire mansion, I had to crawl through the ventilation system and let Kenma give me directions. Once I reach the room, I'll use this device kinda like a bungee cord, except it will propel me downwards so I can grab (F/N) out of harm's reach (kinda like attack on titan... hehe)
I know this all sounds insane... because it is.
"Gomen Suga..." they said simultaneously.
"Yams, any updates?" I spoke with haste. I feel my hands slipping by the second as the sweat dripped down on my forehead. The position I was in was unbearable to hold. My muscles hated me at this point.
"Ah, just a second. Their system is kinda complicated. There seems to be a password. 'What is the oldest son's name?'" Yams mumbled, "Oh that's easy it's Taiyo right? I remember!"
Before he presses enter, I interrupt him yelling, "Wait no! It's Tenma!"
"Wait the Tenma? As in Udai Tenma?! We're at the Udai's?! The richest people in Japan?!" Yachi exclaimed. She clutched her stomach, almost about to hurl, "h-home of the Tiny Giant?!"
"Take a breather Yachi." Kuroo says gently as he hands her a paper bag she furiously blows into.
"No time to explain. Just type it!" I said under my breath.
I hear the clacking of Yam's on his computer. His skillfulness with computers was astonishing. I was surprised he never did anything illegal, but then again it's Yamaguchi I'm talking about. Gingerly pulling out the blueprints from my backpack, I lay it out and scan the interior once more. Laying flat on my stomach I circle the important parts of the mansion. Holding the pen in my mouth ever so often.
The generators. The garage. The main area. The boiler room. Bedroom 1. Bedroom 2....The suspected hostage place?
A cold gust of wind brushed harshly against my face as I tried to steady the blueprints with my hand. It was tedious keeping it from flying away, but this blueprint was the key to saving her. I need to save her.
"Got it! Yams said excitedly, "Just checking the main floor... looks clear to me"
"Better not be too careful though, There's a few guards just up ahead." Kenma proclaimed monotonous, "looks like we have to 'level up'"
Kenma held a slight grin, as if he opened a new game for the first time. He clicked a button on his computer, as it makes a satisfying click nearby. The front gate was opened and it was time for the rest of the team to advance.
"Ready to go?" Yachi asked nervously to Team A.
"Osu!" Bokuto and the others recited.
"Gotcha. I'll wait for the signal." I signed off and made my way to a vent, "wish me luck."
Unscrewing the vent, I watch it fall stories downwards into the bushes; I take a deep breath and plunge into the darkness.
~
"Oi dumbo, be careful out there. I feel uneasy that I'm not going to be with you" Kei spoke with sincerity as everyone disembarked the van. He held a stoic face but I knew deep down he cared. A lot.
"Baka. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine! I have my brother to remember?" I said all flustered.
Kei would never say things like this out of the blue. Sometimes I forget we are in a relationship because of how comfortable we are with each other. This tall tree actually has feelings for me. Weird.
"I'll update you through the walkie, okay?" I reassured him. I turned around and marched with the rest of Team A until I felt a tug on my sleeve. My eyes met his golden ones as his gaze softened with his lips forming a straight line.
"Tsukki. I'll be okay- "
"I love you." He said a bit too quickly. He hasn't said those words since the last Seijoh game. He pulled me into a quick embrace and let go immediately, "Sorry. Sorry. Time is essence"
He avoids my gaze as I see a slight pink tint on his cheeks. He clears his throat and looks towards the horizon. It was almost nightfall and it was getting dark soon. The widest grin formed on my lips as my eyes were glazed over from his concern. I felt this warm sensation in my gut as it crept upwards to my ears.
Is this what it feels like? To be in love?
I let out the tiniest, "I love you too."
That was the first time I said it and I meant every word. It felt right. Tsukki eyes widened slightly but he ended up chuckling and patting my shoulder. It was getting too intimate and I could tell we felt awkward, but relieved at the same time.
"Erm, yeah you'll be fine." He said quickly, but before he turned around, I kiss him briefly on the lips. Literal steam came out of his ears as he turned on his heels towards the van. He waves a hand over his shoulder without looking at me.
"Don't worry! It's not like they have guns or anything?"
- A few moments later -
"They have guns you stupid!" Tsukki yells through the headset. He stared at Kenma's screen, watching me, Toma, Bokuto, Hajime and Oikawa sneak through the first gate. He switches the view to a different angle and notices men in black searching the area with flashlights and guns.
"Well how was I supposed to know?!" I argued back.
"UGH STOP BICKERING LIKE AN OLD COUPLE AND FOCUS!" Toma slapped my head as we crouched down behind a statue. A few guards twitched from the sound of Toma's voice and approached slowly.
Crap.
"Spotted on the first floor." they affirmed to one another.
"Shit Toma, why you gotta talk so loud." I whispered loudly only to be shushed by Bokuto on the other side.
"I got this. I'll be a distraction." Bokuto grinned and stood up from behind a giant plant, "HEYHEYHEY!!! COME AND GET ME BOIS"
"BOKUTO YOU IDIOT!" Toma screeched as she automatically stood up. Guards from left and right were pointing their guns at the both of them.
"Target acquired. Permission to shoot." a guard asked through his walkie
Why must I do everything myself...
I glance over to my brother and with shared sibling telepathy, we both nod in agreement and spring forward.
"TAKE THIS YOU IDIOTS!" I threw a smoke bomb that filled the whole room with fog. It was so thick that I couldn't see ahead of myself. Without hesitation, Hajime charged into the fog with me. Little did everyone know, Hajime and I took every single type of self defence and fighting class there was. From Karate to Krav Mega, we were the utmost best at fighting.
Doing a backflip off the walls, I jump over a guard who was too dazed by the smoke. I pummel him to the ground with a nunchuck and wack it in a skillful pattern over and around my shoulders. I close my eyes and listen carefully for my next target.
"On your left!" Tsukki screamed through his headset
As fast as his warning, I charge at the enemy and swiftly kick him in the gut. Grabbing the barrel of his gun, I swung it at his head and he fell to the ground unconscious.
"For a second there I thought you were going to shoot him." Hajime chuckled as he sucker-punched another loser. He high kicked another one to the ground and flipped the one just behind him with his fast reflexes. He crouches down and dusts off his hands, grinning to himself.
"Psh. Show off.." I say as I tuck in the gun into the waistband of my pants
Might come in handy later
"BOKUTO! MIKA!" Toma screamed as the enemy pointed a gun from behind her.
"DUCK!" Bokuto hollered as he threw a random circular statue at the man's face. He launched it forcefully like a frisbee and Toma ducked her head quickly to avoid it. It made a loud 'CLANG' to the floor as the man knocked out behind Toma.
"BAKA! YOU COULD'VE HIT ME!" Toma screeched as she slapped Bokuto on the head.
"Heh, but you ducked didn't you?" he smiled warmly at her, making her flustered. She crossed her arms as Bokuto patted her head like a child.
"SHIT!" Hajime cussed.
"ANI!" I yelled
"ONE MORE MOVE AND I SHOOT!" the man yelled as he held Hajime forcefully.
I twitched with anguish but my brother was in danger. Toma and Bokuto were frozen on the spot. Hajime mouthed a 'no, don't Mika'. Impulsively, I inch close and grip tightly on my nunchucks. The man presses further down on his temple and screams,
"I SAID DON'T MOVE!"
"LET GO OF MY BOYFRIEND YOU JERK!"
Oikawa hits the man forcefully on the head with a cooking pan. He goes out with a 'BANG' and loosens his grip from my brother. He falls to the ground and Oikawa stomps on his chest. My shoulders relax a bit and I sigh in relief.
"Baka." Hajime says as he dusts off his sleeves, "I could've gotten him"
"Wow okaaay Mr. Bigshot. A 'thank you' could've been nice." Oikawa pouts and Hajime rolls his eyes again.
"Well guys, looks like we got more company." Kenma indicated to the group ahead.
More guards barricaded the main floor and the rest of the friends huddled together, waiting for further instructions.
A thunderous "BOOM" was heard throughout the whole mansion and the group tensed up from the explosion. Huddling together back to back, all the adrenaline in my body was at its peak. The team was ready to pounce as I grip onto my nunchucks.
"Well, there goes Noya and Tanaka..." Kenma signed through the headset.
~
"What is 'Fuel + O2 → CO2 + H2O' again?!" I asked in frustration.
I was in the boiler room with Tanaka, prepping the said 'bombs' that were supposed to set off AFTER Suga saved (F/N).
"Why are there letters in math?!" Tanaka screamed with me as he held onto the instructions upside down. He scratched his bald head as I gaze upon the array of solutions in front of me.
"Simpletons... this isn't algebra this is chemistry!" Tsukkishima yelled through the walkie
"And you expect us to understand this?!" We both screamed out of desperation as Tanaka and I frantically mix random crap together.
"I thought you guys just came from chemistry class?! Don't you know the common equation for combustion!" Tsukkishima screeched, making me wag my head like a sad dog.
"Yeah, well about that..." Tanaka looked at me with a worried expression and I shrug my shoulders and mouth 'don't look at me'
"I don't have the patience for this..." Tsukishima handed over the walkie to Yachi who didn't hesitate to direct us two idiots.
As Yachi tried explaining it, my head was getting dizzy from all the fumes from the chemicals. It was hard to concentrate, plus the heat from the room wasn't helping.
"You take the right one and put it in the solution on the left!" she instructed
"My right or your right?"

The creator of the Primordial Evolution Scripture, Jing Guanyu! The Primordial Emperor! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The inspiration for Book (brackets say roughly what I got inspiration from) Do note: I do completely copy anything from any books. All of this book is original and all the books mentioned below are simply inspiration that gave me the ideas in regards to whats in the brackets. It may seem similar (like with MW I also use the E-E-D cultivation but my definitions and cultivation realms are different from the inspirations) > Martial World (Cultivation Paths) > Lord Xue Ying (Non-Generic Plot) > Stellar Transformations (Unique Cultivation Technique) > Consuming Earth, Devouring Skies (Character Development) > Ancient Godly Monarch + Invincible (Martial Spirits + Own touch to this idea) > The Storm King + Lament of the Fallen (The Soul Realm/Soul Domain) -------------------------------------------------------------------- Final words: Ok, I will just say that there are several reasons why the MC's cultivation speed is so mediocre despite how "talented" he is. There are logical reasons and they will be explained when necessary. Just remember that cultivation speed isn't everything. Hope you enjoy. I will take constructive feedback and logical criticism. However, I will not even reply to illogical criticism, rants or salty people who got pissed off because the main character didn't get "that divine medicine" or "this divine sword" or whatever. Note: I have marked all 4 of the content warning boxes due to a uncertainty in how dark, gory, descriptive or traumatizing my story will get. Btw, the cover isn't my property but was gotten from a website on mythology (greek I think). IF they ask me to take it down, then I shall. IF NOT, then IDGAF. LOL
