《The Last Set || Sugawara x Reader ||》What now

It was like seeing a ghost. A chill came down your entire body and you didn't dare look away at the figure that was your sister. Cold sweat formed on your forehead and you felt lightheaded all of a sudden.
No, that's not her. It can't be. Dr. Asahi told me she wasn't able to wake up after that encounter with Daichi. Last time I visited, she was still asleep.
"Did you miss me?" she called out from below.
The rest of the team was in shock as they didn't move a muscle. You could see tears forming in Daichi's eyes. Behind Kiyoko was her neurologist, who still wore his white coat, as he aided her in the wheelchair.
"It can't be." Suga murmured beside you. His hand was placed on top of yours on the bench. He squeezed it as a sign of comfort. He could tell you were uneasy.
Mika stopped recording from her phone as she captured the last shot of Kiyoko catching the volleyball midair. She clumsily dropped her phone as she blinked her eyes at Kiyoko.
"Guys we got to shake hands now." Keishin instructed.
The team complied as they met up with their opponents, making them snapped out of it. Even Hajime and Oikawa had to do a double take. Once they exchanged handshakes, the team huddled near the benches. You remained frozen in your spot, unable to move.
The rest of the boys were sadly gathering their duffle bags as they moped around from their defeat. Wiping off a mixture of tears and sweat off their faces.
Kiyoko came into view as she was wheeled into the gymnasium. Your feet finally cooperated as you walked up towards the two of them.
"What is going on? She should be resting. When did she wake up?" You argued with Dr. Asahi, shooting him a million questions.
"I tried my best, I swear. Right when she woke up, she was so persistent when she heard your voicemail this morning"
Yeah that's right. I leave her voicemails when I couldn't visit on the weekends. But I didn't tell her to come here.
Suddenly, Kiyoko wheeled herself forward, shocking Dr. Asahi-san as he let go of the handles.
"Kiyoko-san!" he yelled out to her but she refused to listen
You watch in shock as she propelled herself forward without a care.
What in the world is she doing?!
"Kiyok- " Daichi called as she approached him. She wheeled past him without even stopping to look at his direction, leaving him confused.
She pushed harder until she stopped directly in front of...
"Tanaka-san." She voiced out in a stern tone
Tanaka's face was serious as he stared at his ex-girlfriend. The rest of the team watched the commotion unveil as all eyes were on the couple.
Kiyoko tightens her grip on her wheelchair handles and tries to push herself up.
"AH KIYOKO-SAN! You're still healing!" Dr. Asahi yelled
Kiyoko ignored the doctor's requests as she managed to bring herself upwards with all her might. She looked like she could fall over at any moment, but she stiffly walks forward to Tanaka.
What is wrong with her?!
With every agonizing step towards him, she grabs him by the collar of his shirt and kisses him.
"NANI?!" The rest of the team yells.
Everyone was watching, even spectators from above. You notice Iwaizumi-san and Oikawa wide eyed on the other side of the court.
"Wha-wa" Tanaka pushed her away slightly as she suddenly started crying in his chest. Her legs were wobbling put Tanaka supported her with his arms around her back

"Kiyoko thats enough!" You yelled as you started running towards her.
Kiyoko murmured, "where were you? I thought you loved me."
Tears were flowing down her face as her legs gave-in. She slumped over in his arms and went unconscious.
Tanaka helped you bring her back in the wheelchair. The rest of the team and the rest of Miyagi was still staring but your eyes diverted to Daichi. He was a speechless as he clenched his fists to his side. He took his gym bag and silently walked out of the gym.
"She fell asleep." Tanaka murmured as he watched her slumped over. He brushed her hair out her face as she snoozed away in her wheelchair.
Kageyama came over to look at her half-sister for the first time. He placed a hand on your shoulder and suggests,
"Looks like they're starting a new match. Let's go (F/N)"
You notice a new team filling in the court and the rest of Karasuno headed out. Gazing upon Kiyoko's face, you wonder:
She doesn't remember Daichi, but she's in love with Tanaka?
Mika and Kageyama were at your side, rubbing your back. Your eyes were fixated on your sister being pushed by Dr. Asahi with Tanaka at her side.
~
The team went for Korean BBQ but no one was speaking. Everyone had mixed emotions on losing again to Seijoh and Kiyoko's appearance. They all ate in silence until you could see streams of tears running down Hinata's face.
"WE'RE SO FAR AWAY! I THOUGHT WE'D HAVE THEM THIS TIME. I'LL NEVER BEAT THE TINY GIANT NOW!" He mumbled as he gulped down his bowl of rice.
"Hinata, you're going to choke." you spoke and stood up suddenly from the table.
"Excuse me." you say as you leave your unfinished food on the table. You'd never leave food unfinished as you thought it was rude, but you lost your appetite after everything that's happened.
The table grew more silent as you left the restaurant and sat outside on a bench nearby. You plug in your Airpods and listen to music that remind you of your dad. You scrunch up into a ball and let the lyrics flow into your ears.
I let you down dad. It's my first and last year here in Karasuno and we didn't make it to nationals. I'm sorry.
Just when you were occupied with your thoughts, another person took a seat beside you. Peeking upwards from your knees you look at the boy with a solemn face.
"Daichi, are you finished eating?" you ask with concern.
He was silent for a moment and stated,
"Your dad, he's the Tiny Giant isn't he?"
"W-wah how did you-"
"He looks like the Tiny Giant, I watched him play for nationals on the TV a long time ago. When I first met him in person I was awestruck. It was back when I took Kiyoko on a date. He scared the crap out of me." he chuckled a bit but his smile faltered afterwards.
"My dad's pretty strict when it came to two things. Us and volleyball. Especially us when it came to boys." you explained holding up two fingers, flashing a weak smile at Daichi. You relax your posture a bit and sit properly on the bench.
He leaned back on the bench and closed his eyes, resting his bunched up fingers on his stomach. You lean a bit forward towards him and put in one Airpod.
"Hm?"
"My dad. He used to listen to this." you squeak. Daichi listened to the music and tapped his fingers on his stomach.

"He's pretty cool." Daichi laughed.
"Yeah he was."
He remained with his eyes closed as he didn't want to ask what happened. Though you told him everything about the accident, it surprised you that you didn't shed one tear.
"I always regretted not telling you about Kiyoko." you say shyly. You recall him that night being so angry and full of hatred. He punched his best friend in the face.
"I love Kiyoko but..." Daichi sighs, "I don't know if she'll feel the same again."
"Dr. Asahi said that she might forget you but if you surround her with familiar things then that will jog her memory." you input hopefully to your sulking captain.
"I hope so. If not, I think she'll be in good hands." he turns around and peers through the restaurant window. His eyes fall on Tanaka who was having an eating competition with Nishinoya. The rest of the team seemed to be back to their usual high spirits thanks to those too.
He faces you again and says,
"I think Takeda-senpai wants to talk to us tomorrow. You, me, Suga and Asahi."
He returned back your Airpod into your palm and you could still hear the music playing.
"Lets go back inside. We're not finished celebrating." he said in a gentle voice as he rose from the bench.
"Celebrating? But we lost?"
"Celebrating that we get one more shot in the Spring National Tournament." he explained, smiling down at you.
"Also, Kiyoko is doing well." he added as he continued to walk back to the restaurant. You follow him inside and couldn't help but feel a bit relieved.
I guess we're not done yet dad.
~
"Takeda-senpai, you called for me?" you say entering the faculty office you once broken into.
"Yes (F/N), take a seat." he gestured to the empty chair in front of him. Near his desk also occupied the other third years. You gingerly take the empty seat beside Suga and exchange a quick glance at him.
"So as you may know, all of you are in your third year. This also includes (F/N) because she's in college supplementary courses. Correct?"
You shyly nod and Takeda-senpai continues,
"After losing against Seijoh again, it's up to you guys if you want to compete in Spring Tournament. However, how do I put this... Teachers suggested you focus on school because college applications are coming soon and I don't want this club to compromise your grades."
All of you sit in silence and listen to Takeda-senpai's words. It just hit you that you'd be doing only one year of volleyball club. Plus you'd be leaving Mika alone to manage it. It'd be too much for her to handle considering all the other extracurriculars she's in.
"We're still going to do it. We're going to keep playing." Daichi spoke up.
Takeda-senpai was taken aback for a moment but after thinking about it he says,
"If that's your decision, I can't stop you." he filled in some notices on his desk and stamped the paper as a sign of approval.
"Is this what you want (F/N)? I'm not doubting your grades or anything but, do what's best for you."
Do what's best for me? I don't even know what I want anymore. Being in volleyball club has been amazing, I don't wanna go just yet. But I know it'll be difficult to keep up my grades, especially with finals coming soon. Practices will be longer and the tests are going to get harder...
"You don't need an answer right away (F/N). Of course, the sooner the better." Takeda-senpai interjected your anxiety filled thoughts.
Suga rests his arm on the back of your seat and lightly massages your back.
"You're all dismissed." Takeda-senpai stated as all of you resumed to your regular classes.
~
You're standing on the top of the school's roof. Holding onto the rails you close your eyes and think about what Takeda-senpai just offered.
If we win the Spring Tournament against Seijoh, we still have to beat Shiratorizawa. That's something we'd have to deal with and I don't even know if that's possible... what am I going to do about school? And Kiyoko?
"You're thinking hard again I see?"
Suga places his hands on top of yours and sniffed your hair. He intertwined his fingers with yours and brought them around your waist. He pulled you in closer as he hugged you tighter from behind.
Recently, we've been going to the roof. It's like our place because I liked looking upon the rest of Miyagi at this height. I don't feel as small when I'm here. Everything looked small from here. Even my problems would vanish.
"You know me so well." you murmured.
"So what are we going to do." he asks, making you slightly confused.
You look up at his face and he's smiling down at you, making your heart skip a beat.
"What do you mean?"
"The future. With college coming soon and the team."
"Yeah a lot has been on my mind lately."
"I can tell haha. It's like a bunch of equations are literally coming out of your head. Floating around you."
"What do you want Suga?" you ask as you close your eyes and he places his head on top of yours.
"Wherever you go, I'll go." he says without hesitation.
"You can't just decide just because of what I say silly." you giggle making his head bounce up and down a little. He lets out a small laugh and explains,
"I'm serious though. I just want to be with you. And if it means quitting volleyball, I'd do it."
"Sugaa. You can't just do that for me." you lightly elbow him in the stomach
"You're right I love volleyball too much" he chuckles and lets go of your hands.
He encircles his arms around your shoulders and sighs into your neck. You hold onto his arms and smile out into the city below.
"But I will always love you more." he whispers making your cheeks turn red. You couldn't speak as he holds you tighter. You hold out your hand and sign the 'I love you'. You couldn't say it because you were embarrassed, but you wanted to. You never said I love you to your parents, let alone a boy.
"W-where you go. I go." you managed to let out, making him silent for a moment.
"And where would you like to go?" he asks curiously with a smirk on his face.
"Volleyball club. I need to find a manager."
"Hm? We already have Mika."
"I know, but it's more manageable with two people. I was considering Kiyoko but she'd have to catch up with a lot of school work."
"Well if it were me... I'd find another person who is smart like you. You know it'd make the flow of the team more smoothly. Especially with Hinata and Kageyama."
A sudden idea sprung in your head as you let go of Suga's embrace. You turn around and grin widely at the silvered hair boy.
"OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE YOU!"
He was flustered at your sudden confession but also very confused. You kiss him quickly on the cheek and head downstairs before lunch ends. Suga laughs,
"well, that's not how I pictured in my head how you'd confess to me."
~
You ran down the hallway in search for classroom 5-1. You spot it down the hall and open the door, making a ruckus.
"YACHI-SAAAN!" you yell
Mika and Tsukishima look up from their video game and Yachi turned to you in surprise. Yams and Yachi were sharing an iPad as they were drawing layouts for the yearbook. You run up to the two of them and blurt out,
"Yachi! Please join the volleyball club!"
You were running out of breath because the bell was going to ring soon.
"um..." Yachi squeeked, unsure of what you just said.
"You should Yachi!" Yams declared looking up to her face, making her blush.
"I don't anything about volleyball though. I'd be useless." she murmured
"I can teach you Yachi. Shouldn't be too hard to explain." you say convincingly
"Yeah Yachi you should do it!" Mika chimed. Kageyama and Hinata were listening in too when you mentioned volleyball club. Who would've thought everyone was here.
"I-I'm just you know, villager B." Yachi stuttered. She was shaking in her spot as she didn't like the attention she was getting.
"Pardon?" Tsukishima questioned with a bored face.
"Who cares if you're villager B, VILLAGER B IS COOL!" Hinata exclaimed making Kageyama howl with laughter.
"I swear I won't be providing any help! I don't even play sports unless Wii sports count..." she retorted
I know what can convince her. You lean closer into her ear so only she could hear,
"I can get a date with you and Yams if you join the volleyball club."
Her eyes widened and cheeks reddened as she looked directly at Yams. You withdraw from her face to watch her reaction. Her eyes darted to Kageyama, to Tsuki and Mika, back to Hinata and then finally on Yams.
"I-I'll do it." she finally admitted.
"WOO HOO WAY TO GO VILLAGER B!" Hinata shouted excitedly.
The bell rang signalling the next class was about to start and everyone scrambled out of their seats.
"So, what convinced you to join?" Yams asked Yachi.
"Oh you know... nothing in particular." she smiled nervously at him.
You walk out of the class room, ready for the next class. Mika taps you on the shoulder and gives a low high-five.
"Nice one (F/N)" she whispers as she flashes you a devilish smile.
"Love can make you do anything, won't it?" you smirked back at her.

Beyond Floating
Muse thought her life had ended twenty years ago because, well, it had. Existing aimlessly for two decades as a ghost, she finds herself yanked along in a rip-tide of strange events. Thrust unwittingly into the midst of a group of paranormal hitmen-for-hire led by a man named Isaac. Michael, a normally rational and righteous holy soldier of God, succumbs to revenge and hatred, sacrificing everything in the fight to destroy Isaac and everyone who associates with him. Muse, by virtue of her inadvertent association with Isaac, is on that list. This is actually my first 'finished' fiction that I've ever written, which I completed about 8 years ago. I dug it up recently and I'm posting it as I thought people here might get a kick out of it. So, take that for what you will. Chapters will be released daily at 6:00pm EST.

I'm writing fiction. But I'm not a writer, I'm just a reader. :) P.s ------------------------------------------------- Story Progress: 1. Blurb is fulfilled on Chapter Three and Chapter Four 2. Story Arc One, The Savior is fulfilled on Story Arc Five 3. Yes, there is fighting scenes. Three Calamities have been Eliminated in Dandia -- The wide island. 4. The prologue is nearing to begin. 5. Too many conflicts. ------------------------------------------------- Past tense - When I just narrate a past without much actual actions. I mean like a news, or just telling or reporting the past. Present tense - Current event. And flashback with actions. I love flash fiction so world building is not on this story, like narrating a room, narrating a character's traits, etc. As possible, I want them to think, have their decision, etc. etc. etc. etc. Hallo guys, Help me locate my typos on Story Arc 5. I still don't want to edit Story Arc 1-4. I can't wait to reach story arc Chapter Six(I won't spoil). My outlines and very huge flowcharts are waiting. Sorry, about that, I can understand English without format so, each time I'm looking for typos I was hooked in my story and I didn't realize I forgot about them.
