JACKIE'S POV
ONE WEEK LATER.
Its been a week since I forgived Xavier.
He explained everything to me. He said he was jealous of all those guys and that he didn't want anybody else but him to be that close to me.
To be honest half of the things didn't make any sense to me.
I mean why would he want to be close to me?
And the fact that I had started developing a tiny crush on him didn't help either.
Oh who am I kidding? I was totally crushing on him real hard.
I had library now. And the saddest part was I had none of my friends with me in this period. But the good thing was that I loved reading books.
And I have to say I am a sucker for romantic novels.
I reached the romance novels' aisle and found the book I was reading last week at the top of the book shelf.
What the fuck? How did it get there?
I groaned and grabbed a ladder from nearby.
I climbed up and took the book out, but my balance became unstable and the book fell out of my hands and I stumbled on the ladder and fell off the ladder.
I closed my eyes and waited for my back to land on the cold hard concrete floor.
But instead of that I found myself in the arms of somebody.
I opened my eyes to see a very familiar looking guy who was looking down at me. He put me down and looked at me up and down.
He was definitely checking me out.
He then looked at my eyes and smirked "Oh hello there, you okay?"
"Yes I am. Thank you so much" I said politely.
"No worries, I can always help a pretty girl like you " he winked at me.

I have to say he was good looking but he reminded me of someone.
But who?
Wait a second.
Then it striked me.
He kinda looked like Xavier!
But I have to say I was intimated by this guy. The dark look on his face radiated bad vibes out of him.
" So you new here?" he started to make a conversation.
"Yup. I'm Jackie Miller. Its nice to meet you" I extended my hand to shake his.
He took my small hands in his big ones and shook it.
This sent shivers down my whole body and not the good type of shiver.
I pulled my hands back and asked awkwardly " Well its been three weeks since I've joined the school but how come I never saw you?"
It was true. I was seeing this guy for the very first time. And if I had known who he is, I would've stayed away from him because he looks really mysterious.
He chuckled "Its because I was out of town for some work. So I took a leave. But now I'm glad that I'm back" he said and I felt so uncomfortable.
"So tell me Jackie, are you PJ Miller's sister?" he asked.
"No. I'm actually his cousin. My parents sent me here to live with him and his family" I said honestly.
"So you must know who Xavier is right?" he asked and there was a change in his tone.
"Yup he's my friend. We became pretty close to each other" I blushed at the thought of me and Xavier getting close to each other.
I smiled up at him but my smile was wiped off of my face when I saw his eyes turn a tone darker.
He looked so evil right now. It scared me. Literally.

He started closing the distance between us and I started taking steps backward.
My back hit the wall but he was still coming towards me.
And I guess it was my luck or something because I heard someone calling my name "Jackie"
I turned my head to the left to see Xavier standing there. He was not able to see the guy.
So I practically ran to him and got a hold of his hands and started pulling him towards the door.
He gave me a confused look but started following me. Suddenly that guy came out of the aisle and Xavier stiffened beside me.
"Lucas Black" Xavier snarled.
"Hello to you too brother, its been a while since I last saw you" Lucas said rolling his eyes playfully.
Brother?
What was going on here?

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
