Boss urged me to stand infrount of the mirror so that he could inspect my bruises. I knew that my bruises were only on my stomach area so I wouldn't need to take off my shirt.

"Can you please uhh- lift up your shirt? So I can look at the bruises?" Boss asked, obviously nervous. I nodded shyly and lifted my shirt up so it was slightly above my bottom rib.

I tied the shirt up with my hair bobble so that my arms wouldn't get tired. He reached a hand out to touch one of the purple marks that had turned green in places.

"They don't look infected so that's a good sign!" Boss said happily and he traced around each and ever one of the bruises. This made shivers travel down my spine.

But it was strangely comforting. The butterflies, which were still overwhelming with nerve, made me think- is this what a crush feels like? Before I knew what was happening, I felt Boss untie my shirt and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I promise I will protect you, even if it costs me my life," whispered Boss into my ear. I smiled happily and hugged him back.

This was most definitely the start of a crush!
