ANDY:
"What the hell is wrong with you two?" Austin literally shouted looking at me and then Paul. We were staring at each other so weirdly.
How the hell Paul can be Austin's brother? Of all people around the world HE has to be Austin's brother! DAMN!!
"I asked you something Andy." Austin closed in, putting his hand on my shoulder. "Do you know him?" he asked me slowly.
I withdrew my sight from Paul's emerald green eyes to Austin's face. He looked a little mad. I shook my head slightly.
"Uh, we... um... we-"
"How the hell could we ever meet when I wasn't here Austin?" Paul quickly cut me off.
Austin turned around to look at him. Paul quickly gave me a threatening look.
"Why were you both drooling at each others like retards then?" Austin asked.
"'Cause I had no idea you're fiancée would be that hot."
"Stay the hell away from her!" Austin threatened him.
Paul smirked. "I'll try to... but I'm not sure." He winked at me.
"C'mon." Austin said gripping my wrist and dragging me in.
Was he this jealous of his brother? Wait... why was he jealous?
AUSTIN:
I left Andy in her room to rest. She was tired and a little weird. I don't know which thing she wasn't taking nicely.
Lee... that he's okay with us.
Or the fact that I have a brother?
I rushed down to the living room where Paul was probably buttering dad for letting him stay and mom was on his side.
I don't know what side I am on?
I wanted Paul but he doesn't deserve to be here anymore!
"Blake I'm not listening to you any more. I want my son!" Mom was saying to dad when I entered.
"But I don't want him in front of me! I don't even know if he'd given up drugs." Dad argued.
"I'm done with the drugs dad. I've changed and I want to be back with my family now."
"I can't-"
"Dad please." I cut him off. Everyone looked at me. "Paul is not gonna go anywhere now. It wasn't our mistake that he'd run away. But if we let him go now, it'd be our mistake."
Dad looked at me for a long time and then without a word he left.
"Thanks bro." Paul said to me, grinning.
"Didn't do it for you. I did it for mom. And if you ever tried to hurt her... I swear I'll kill you!"
"I won't. I promise."
I hurried out to my room. I heard Paul following me.
"Will you stop following me?" I asked totally annoyed.
"I'm not following you."
"Right!"
I walked silently to my room. Paul walked passed me towards Andy's room.
"Hey! What're you doin'?"
"What do you think?"
"But that's not you're room anymore!"
"Huh?"
"Andy lives there."
"What!?" he looked at me with amused expression. "Don't tell me you both don't sleep in the same room."
I didn't say anything. Paul started to laugh like crazy.
"Shit Austin! You... fuck around... with... every girl... and you don't... sleep with your own... girl!" he said between fits of laugh. "Damn! Cant believe it!"
"It's not funny."
He stopped laughing and looked at me. "Yeah! Its not..." he looked a little distant. "Okay so where do I live?"
"Go dump anywhere. It's a big house!" I told him and went in my room.

I don't know why I was being such a jerk to him but every time I saw him, my blood rises and I really feel like beating the shit outta him.
ANDY:
That after noon I was in my room, sitting on the bed doing my English essay when Austin bust in, hopping on my bed.
He lay down comfortably, craning his head in his arm and stared at me.
I crocked my eyebrow. "You want anything?"
"No."
I shook my head and got back to my work. He was acting a little weird ever since his brother showed up. I still can't believe he never told me he had a brother and that would be... 'Paul'
Damn.
I could feel Austin's gazed burning my cheek. I knew I was turning red.
Austin chuckled.
"You just gonna sit here and stare at me?"
"I can do more than just stare at you..." he said huskily.
"Are you imagining me naked?"
"Do you want me to?" he smirked.
I closed my journal and threw on him. "Austin!"
He catches it. "Andy," he sat up, gripping my wrist and leaned to me. "..I don't want to be a jerk but I can feel something's wrong between us. I want to make things right."
"What are you talking about?"
"Stop pretending Andy." He closed in, so our noses were touching. "I want you Andy." He whispered.
As he touched his lips to mine, an electric wave passed through my body. He pressed a little more kissing gently. I couldn't control myself, so I moved my lips with his. It felt like it's been ages since I touched Austin like this.
I wanted him too. I could feel the awkwardness slipping away.
Austin let go my wrist and slipped his hand in my hair. My arms got automatically curled around his neck. I parted my lips and Austin's tongue danced in my mouth. I groaned.
Austin pulled himself back, looking deep in my eyes. "I know you want me too Andy." He smiled. His piercing blue eyes sparkled.
"I think. Maybe..."
"You think?" he crocked his eyebrow. "You still just Think you want me?" he inhaled deeply and leaned closer. "What if I changed your mind?" he whispered.
"You can try..." I said in a shaky voice. A rumble of excitement evolved in me.
He smirked and kissed below my lower lip. He placed sweet kisses along my jaw line and moved to my ear. "You know it won't take me long..." he whispered, giving me goose bumps.
He brought his mouth to mine and after a long deep kiss he started lowering himself. He placed the trail of his warm kisses along my neck and shoulder. I could feel my body becoming hot.
Austin started to pull off my shirt but before he could fully undress me, there was a knock on the door.
He stopped short. "Who is it?" He asked annoyed.
I quickly pulled on my shirt and sat up straight.
The door slowly opened and Paul's head popped in. "Uh, I hope I didn't disturbed anything..." he's eyes stopped at me.
"Yeah you did." Austin barked.
"Whatever it was, continue after dinner." Paul answered totally irritated.
"Won't ask you when to do it!" Austin hopped off the bed.
"Will you both stop fighting? You both are.." I looked at Austin and then at Paul. They were so damn same. Identical. "..by miracle brothers..."

I've heard them both fight before too.
"Miracle? I would call it an accident!" Austin said in a bitter tone.
"Austin cut it off!"
"Uh, I'll just go. Was just here to call you for dinner." Paul hesitated and left.
"I'll be down in a minute." I told Austin and he went out silently.
Don't know what's wrong with him?
I quickly washed my face and brushed my hair. I rushed down tot eh dinning hall. Before I could go in, Paul stopped me.
"What a surprise huh?"
"Quiet a big one."
"I never thought it could be this way."
"Did you expect me to know anything this crazy would happen?"
He laughed.
"Let's eat. I don't want Austin to find us like this."
We both walked in the dinning hall together. Austin gave Paul a hard look.
"Easy bro...didn't do anything."
"You better not."
Okay. This was extremely weird!
We ate the dinner in silence and I got the reason why Mr. and Mrs. Blake were so weird with each other. It had something to do with Paul's presence there.
***********
I was almost sleeping when I heard a tap on the balcony door. Who could be there at this time? I quickly got up and waited until there was another tap. I slowly walked to the balcony and opened the door.
Paul stood there, looking at me. "Hey."
"What are you doing here?"
"I wanna talk to you."
"But how'd you got here?"
"Actually this was my room before... so it's pretty easy for me." He grinned. "Won't you ask me in?"
"Sure."
He walked in, looking around. "It's not my room anymore."
"Was a junk yard when I moved in." I told him. He looked at me. He looked hurt.
"I'm sorry, didn't mean to-"
"Forget it. It's not like I care."
I kept looking in his emerald green eyes. His eyes were the only thing that made him look a little different than Austin.
I can't believe I wasn't able to notice the similarity. I should've known he was Austin's brother. Only if I knew Austin had a brother!
"Don't ever tell Austin we've met before."
"Why?"
"Save it for the best."
"Huh?"
"He's one heck of a jealous guy and he'd kill me if he gets to know this."
"Did something happen that night?" I asked.
"No." he walked to my bed but instead of sitting on it, he slipped himself down to the floor, resting his back against my bed.
"But I was wearing you're shirt."
He looked at me. "You were pretty much wasted that night, so I brought you to a room and then you threw up on your dress." He paused, looking at me for a long time. "I uh, just changed it with my shirt. I swear I didn't do anything." He dropped his head.
There was so much to him that I wanted to know. It felt like I've known him for ages.
I walked to him, sitting beside him. "Did you know I was with Austin?"
"I didn't even know he was there."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Um, how come Austin never told me he had a brother?"
He looked at me and then smiled. "I've not been good enough for the family to talk about."
"But that's insane. They all treat you like a piece of a shit!"
"I guess I am a shit."
"No you're not."
"I was a drug addicted runaway! What do you expect them to treat me like?" he said so bitterly and angrily that I thought he's gonna beat anything in his way so I backed a little. "I'm sorry." He looked away. "It's just; I'm so done with all the crap in life! I never thought it would be that way."
"It always is..." I rubbed my hand on his forearm. He smiled.
Damn he's cute! He's got a dimple on his left cheek!
Stop it Andy!
I shook my head slightly. I can't think of him that way.
I'm in love with Austin!
PAUL:
Damn she was amazing! I never imagined I'd be sitting with my princess like this. I don't know what she thought of me but I was sure about myself. I liked her.
But I just have to keep myself till that!
I won't fall for her that way...
I swear....
I'll try!
Shit I was actually talking myself out of loving Andy. I know I've already gone a head in that!
Damn my luck!
I stared in her beautiful deep light brown eyes. It felt like I could see all the way into her. I could smell her scent and feel the warmth of her body as she rubbed my forearm.
"So... I'm you're brother... huh?" I faked a chuckle so she won't know how it pained me to say this. "Damn! Why do I get you as a sister?"
"Guess Austin's just a little luckier than you." she giggled girlishly.
"You know, I often thought about you princess and I even planned to track down that jack-ass you're gonna marry and make him love you."
"I guess I made him sound like a total ass when I was telling a total stranger about him..."
"I'm not a stranger now! And I really do wanna kick Austin's ass for being a jerk to you earlier." I felt her grip on my forearm tighten.
"I shouldn't have told you so much about him." She looked away from me.
"I know my brother Andy. But I had no idea he'd be that ass!" she looked deep in my eyes, like knowing what I wanted to say. "What guy fucks around with other girl before his engagement? If I had known it was Austin, I swear I'd have beaten the shit outta him right there!" my hand curled into a fist. "I know he did something horribly stupid the day of your engagement too... I saw you going away. I don't know when he's gonna understand it's not a game anymore!"
I guess she felt the anger in me that shut her eyes tightly.
I looked at her beautiful delicate face. It was the same face, I've dreamt about too.
But I'm not going to fuck around with her! I can't.
She's my brother's to-be-wife. No matter what problems they have in between... I'll just not use her.
As I was looking at her face I saw a sparkling diamond on her eyelash.
Is it a tear? Was she crying? But for what?
"What's wrong princess?"
She opened her eyes and a crystal like tear rolled down her cheek. She looked me for a minute and than out of nowhere, she started laughing.
I didn't understand. She was crying, wasn't she? And now she's laughing her ass out. "Do you mind sharing what's so funny?"
She broke her laugh and wiped her tear, looking at me. "I think you and I are going to make a good team."
"Team for what?"
"I think Austin needs need to learn a lesson..." she grinned.
"Ookayy..." I said in a singing tone. "But what does he exactly has to learn?"
She crocked her eyebrow. "Paul! Are you really stupid or you're just trying to be?"
"I'm not stupid princess, but I don't think it's a good idea."
"It's not bad either.."
"So you're saying, we make him so jealous that he do whatever to get you back and in the process beats the shit out of me for hooking with you?!"
"Pretending. Just pretend."
"Pretending... cool! It would be hell lota fun!" she chuckled on my sarcastic tone. "So I don't get anything?"
"You get me."
I watched her for a minute. She does have a point. If I can't really be with her, at least I can pretend to be... "You know you're really talking like a slut?"
"You know I'm not... that's what matters."
"And what about what Austin thinks?"
"Let's leave that for him to worry about." She grinned.
"You're crazy you know." I rested my back to her bed.
"I know." She smiled, resting her head on my shoulder.
"By the way crazy princess... I kissed you that night." I grinned when she looked up at me.
"I'm not surprised."
"And if I say I'd knocked you too?"
She sat up, narrowed her eyes at me and suddenly she dragged a pillow from the bed throwing it on me. "You swear you didn't!"
I started laughing, rolling on the floor. "You're so cute when you're angry..."
"Paul! Get the hell outta here!" she tried to sound mad. "Austin has the key to my room and if he finds you in here right now... I'll be the only one in my team since you'd be dead!"
"What the heck is wrong with this guy? He's enslaved you princess! Lets run away..." I joked
She laughed. "Right now, you get lost." She helped me up and pushed me out, shutting the door at my face.
Damn she was amazing! I wish I got her before Austin did... Oh hell... at least I get to hang with her now...

*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
