《Bound To Be》Happy Tears

I think about Abraham everyday. I miss him with all my heart.
I do hope he has changed for the better.
I was sitting outside in the backyard patio drinking some tea. The sun was out and the birds were chirping. It was going to be a beautiful day indeed.
But all of the sudden I heard knocking. It was coming from the front door. Who could that be?
I quickly rose up and put my cup of tea on the counter. No one knocks usually. I don't have visitors.
I was a little nervous to open the door. I checked the peephole and my thoughts went haywire.
I opened the door to see George standing there with a huge smile on his face.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"You lied to me." He said.
"What?"
"You said your boyfriend was at work but there's no sign that you even have one."
"You've been watching me." I said a little upset.
"No I haven't. I just figured I am right. Right?"
"I do have a boyfriend but he is in a different state."
"Then why lie to me?" He asked.
"I didn't know who you were and you seemed like the predatory type. No offense."
He laughed.
"Mind taking a walk with me?"
"I do mind actually."
"Alicia. I'm not going to do anything." He said. The look on his face seemed genuine... "It's just a walk."
"Hmmm. Okay. Give me five." I closed the door behind me and went to go change. I changed into some joggers and a t-shirt.
I opened the door and seen George was standing there, waiting.
"Ready?" He asked.
I nodded.
I locked the door behind me and followed him. We started walking just around the block.

"So this town isn't too big for me not to notice you. Did you just move here?" He asked.
"I was living in California with my boyfriend but I had to come home. But I've lived here since I was a toddler."
He looked at me not quite getting it.
"It's a long story I wish not to repeat." I said.
He nodded and smiled. Understanding.
"And your parents?" He asked. This guy was very curious.
"Um. My mom ran out on my Dad and I when I was very young...so it's just been him and I."
"Your father lives with you?"
"Yes but he is on duty with the reserve for a little while."
"He's in the army."
"Yeah so don't try anything or else he'll find you and probably kill you."
He held his hands up amused. "Point taken."
I smiled.
"I figured you were lonely. What person likes to eat alone at a restaurant? Not a young woman like yourself."
"You can say I've gotten used to it." I admitted.
"I live with four sisters all a couple of years older than me so I'm never alone if you know what I mean."
"I wish I had siblings." I said.
"It can get old after a while but I love them to death. They actually told me that if I ever saw a girl alone to try and be company to her because girls don't like to be alone."
"Your sisters may be right." I said.
"They always give advice about girls. Seems to work." I laughed. "Tonight there is going to be a party at my house for my twin sister. It's a going away party actually. I was wondering if you'd like to go."

He has a twin? I hardly know this guy...
"Come on Alicia it's going to be a a good time. Ten times better than staying up in that house."
"Okay. Yeah. I'll be there."
"Good. It's good to have some fresh air." He said taking deep breaths.
I pushed him laughing.
"Come on let's get you home."
********
I just got off the phone with Alicia's father.
I apologized to him about the way I treated his daughter. It was very crude of me to do that.
I mean I understand now why he got so upset. Alicia was so sweet and innocent when I met her and I changed her into some crazy without-a-care young girl.
That was not my intentions.
Alicia's father told me something I would never forget.
He said he knew I was trouble by the way I looked at him. I didn't quite understand that. He said I had this attitude on my face that was very unnerving. But once he seen me through the Skype he noticed the change in my eyes. That's how he knew I was genuine.
I told him how I was going to go back to school and make something of myself. I told him how I was planning to play out my life and he said he was proud of me.
That sort of hit me because no man has ever told me that. It made me happy and think of all the different possibilities that I can achieve throughout life in general.
I asked him if I may go out with his daughter even though we are still together I needed his blessing.
He accepted and I was on top of the world at that point.
I thanked him a bunch of times and when we hung up I grabbed my bag and went to get my girl.
She's coming back to California.
***********
Throughout the afternoon I got this gut feeling of excitement. I didn't know why.
I was positive it wasn't the party I was going to tonight but it was something else.
I didn't know.
I kept getting butterflies in my stomach throughout the day. I was anxious.
It got so bad that I didn't even want to go to the party. I wasn't feeling it. I was getting anxiety.
My phone started to ring.
It was George.
"Hello."
"Alicia look the party got cancelled my eldest sister is giving birth and we need to be there. Sorry for the inconvenience." He said quickly. He was a little panicked.
"Not it is totally fine. Give your sister my best wishes."
"Thank you Alicia."
It was a quick conversation.
I was relieved I didn't have to go because of my anxiety.
I sat down on the couch and turned on the television. I started watching the movie, The Heat.
It was a good remedy for this anxiety.
I made some popcorn and continued to watch.
The movie was almost over when someone knocked.
Who could be knocking this late?
I unwrapped myself from my blankets and immediately opened the door.
I was pushed into the wall and was kissed with so much love and passion it brought tears to my eyes.
When we came up for breath he whispered my name in my lips.
"Alicia I love you."
"I love you too Abraham." I was crying happy tears.
He's back. He's changed. He's mine.
