《Bound To Be》Thanks A Lot

"This is insane! I have had all my pictures bought!" I said while looking at my computer.

Abraham was on my bed laying down, looking at his phone.

It's been two weeks since our crazy adventure at the beach and we have been closer and more crazy for one another.

"That's great babe." He said a little distracted.

I looked at him and noticed he had his arm over his eyes. I got up and crawled into my bed next to him.

"What's wrong?"

"She's coming out tomorrow."

WHAT!? How come he didn't tell me!?

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked.

"I didn't know she was coming out until this morning. My grandmother told me."

Holy shit.

"So what are you going to do?"

He rubbed his eyes. "I don't know. I want to see her but not talk to her. You get me? But not anytime soon."

Not really.

He continued. "I just want to see how much she has changed since the last time. It's been awhile so I'm guessing she's changed."

I can't force him to talk to his mother even though I would prefer he did because it's not good to have bad omens with someone no matter what they did. I'm not wanting them to be best friends any time soon but it would be nice if they could come together and squash the beef.

"I am on your side the entire way. Just know that when you think more about this."

**********

Ann setup a dinner for the whole family to come over this evening. I'm guessing she chose this evening because Abraham's mom is coming out tomorrow.

Abraham wasn't too excited about the news of the dinner when Ann told him. I have to admit neither was I.

But she thought it was best for the family to come together to talk about the situation that was going to occur.

So that means all four of Ann's kids were coming over apart from Abraham's mom herself. I found out he has two uncles and two aunts. Some of his cousins were coming over as well.

At the moment I was getting dressed for a dinner where I thought it would be best I wasn't apart of but Ann insisted and Abraham insisted even more. I know this is a tough topic for him and he needed me there. I was definitely going to be there. For him.

But I mean it's going to be really awkward for me to be sitting there and being introduced as his girlfriend oh but better yet the girl that also lives just down the hall from him.

I never seen it as weird before but now I can see why that can be sort of tough to say out loud.

"Oh god." I put my head in my hands, not wanting to go to this dinner whatsoever.

My door was open and I heard voices. "They're here already?!" I whispered to myself.

I quickly finished my hair and makeup. I didn't want to wear jeans to the dinner so I went with a skirt.

"I can do this."

"Do what?" Abraham popped his head in my room.

"Oh nothing. I just meant I can walk in these heels."

"I think you can too." He said smiling but narrowing his eyes at me.

"Aren't you gonna go downstairs?"

"I'm waiting for you."

"Oh. Okay. Let me just strap in the heels."

"Oh, allow me. Give me the heel." I passed him the heel and he grabbed my leg so my foot was in the air.

He gently put my foot in the shoe and strapped the ankle latch.

"Now the other one." This time I passed him my leg and he did the same as the other one.

"I love your legs Alicia." He started laughing all of the sudden.

"What?" I said amused.

"This might sound weird but whenever we sleep together I make sure your asleep and just lay my hand on your thigh. It gives me a weird comfort."

"That's weird but not a bad weird." I said smiling.

He started to laugh again. He put his hand under my chin and gave me a kiss. "Let's go meet the family."

We started walking downstairs hand in hand. There was no one at the bottom so I was relieved.

But I heard voices in the living room.

Abraham led us into the living room where I seen his huge family socializing. Oh god.

I seen of course Uncle Joe with his wife. His daughters were in their teen years. But the rest were unknown to me.

"Cousin Abe! The man of the hour has finally come down!" A young man about Abraham's age yelled from the across the room. He had his arms up with a beer bottle in one of them.

That is when everyone turned towards us and stared. Abraham grabbed my hand and led me down the few steps that descended to the living room.

"Hello everyone." Abraham said putting a hand up.

Once the attention wasn't fully on us anymore, Abraham started to make his way round with introductions.

"Aunt Rosemary."

"Oh hello dear! My I haven't seen you in months. How have you been?"

"Oh you know living. I'd like to introduce to you my girlfriend Alicia."

"Alicia...."

I stuck my hand out for a handshake. "Oh no dear I don't shake hands, I give hugs." She smashed me against her body giving me a huge hug. "Heart to heart." It was then I noticed our hearts did touch when we hugged.

"Hey that's a cool way of going through life." I said completely amazed.

"It makes a person more comfortable and open if you give them a hug instead of a handshake."

"I'll remember that."

She just looked at me smiling. "I like her Abraham."

"Me too. A lot." I smiled up at him.

I really like Rosemary such a beautiful heart she has.

Then I was I introduced to Uncle Johnny. He was quite reserved. Very taciturn. He had a wife who would do all his talking. They had a teenage son.

I also met Aunt Gretchen who was the youngest out of all the children as I am informed. She was talking to the older cousins. She was very young for her age. Her son happened to be the one who yelled out when we walked in, Danny.

When we made way towards Danny I was interested to know how Abraham and his relationship was like.

"Danny."

"Bro! I was wondering when you were finally going to come my way." He gave Abraham a manly hug.

"Had to make my way through the crowd. Anyways this is my girlfriend Alicia."

"Alicia...looks like you pulled the strings of my cousins heart." He gave me a much gentler hug than Abraham's.

"Nice to meet you Danny."

"Same to you." He was really sweet and ever the gentleman.

"So what's happening with life cuz?" He said taking a swig from his beer.

"I'm just having a good time before I get serious. But I think we all know what's crashing into my life soon and when I mean soon I mean tomorrow."

"Hey she was bound to come out sooner or later, right?" Danny put his arm around Abraham's shoulders.

"I guess so but you know, especially you, that I'm not looking forward to it."

"I feel you we just have to deal with it." Abraham nodded. "You know what, how about we go out sometime tomorrow, have one of our bro days."

"Ahhh...I don't know?"

"Come on nothing crazy since you have a beautiful girlfriend now." He said smiling up at me.

I can tell he was going to say no so I stepped in. "Abraham. I think it's a good idea for you to go. Have some time off to get your mind off the situation."

He looked at me. "See we have permission." Danny said.

"Okay. I'm down."

"Alrighty then."

"Dinner is served everyone." Ann called out.

We all made our way towards the dining room. But Abraham purposely stayed behind so we were the last ones to leave the living room.

He suddenly stopped and said, "Were you being serious when you wanted me to go out with Danny? I mean is it such a good idea to go out?"

I put my hands on his shoulders. "I was being very serious. I think it's best for you to go. Have some 'bro' time." I said smirking.

He smiled too. "I'm not looking forward to dinner right now. It'll get annoying." He kissed me on the lips and we made our way towards the dining room.

We were sitting down next to one another and the rest of the family spread out throughout the table. A plate of soup was in front of us, an appetizer.

While eating the soup no one was talking. Awkward.

But then, "Since I am the mother and the one in charge I will bring up the elephant in the room."

"Here we go." Abraham muttered only so that I can hear.

"Jessica is coming out tomorrow as we all know."

"So freaking what Mom!" Gretchen said annoyed.

Abraham was right. Here we go.

"What do you mean so what!" Ann said shocked. "She is still apart of this family damnit!" Ann smashed her hands on the table.

Everyone got quiet.

"We don't leave anyone behind. Okay?" She pointedly looked at Gretchen. "So as I was saying she is coming out tomorrow and she can not come here because of circumstances." Abraham.

"Mom what are you asking?" Rosemary asked.

"I'm asking if one of my children and her siblings can offer their home to her for at least a little while until she gets her act together."

Nobody answered. Does the family really not like her? Well she was an accessory to a murder.

"Not all at once." Ann said.

"Mom it's not that we don't love her it's that we just don't want to deal with her anymore. She put us through a lot." Uncle Joe said.

"It's been twenty years! She is different now. I have seen her and witnessed the change." Ann said serious.

It was like this back and forth among the daughters and sons with Ann. Never ending bickering.

"I don't understand why it's so hard for someone to give her a home! How selfish can you guys really be?" Ann said frustrated.

"But Mom.....

"This is bullshit! If no one wants to take her in then she can come here but if she does I'm OUT! Not one of you can do me a freaking favor!" He grabbed my hand and he dragged me out but not before saying, "Thanks a lot."

He continued to drag me upstairs. "Pack your bags we are taking a much needed vacation." He went to my room and sat on the bed with his face in his hands.

"Are you sure about this?" I asked.

"More than anything. I mean I sorta knew this was going to happen so I already packed my suitcase. It's in my closet."

"Okay." I think he is right for leaving this very toxic situation.

I finished packing my suitcase and he grabbed it and went towards his room. Once he grabbed the suitcase in his room we quickly went downstairs and went towards the garage.

He opened the trunk to the Range Rover and he put the suitcases in.

Once we got in he reversed out of the garage and we were on our way but not before we saw Ann coming out of the front door. That just made Abraham go faster.

He was pissed.
