《Bound To Be》Not So Bad Yourself

We were sitting on the sand letting the last of sun for the day hit us.

"You know Alicia I am going to be completely honest with you and I want you to be honest with me too."

"I will agree to that." I said a little curious.

"Yesterday when I kissed you, I liked it. It felt good. But I think I made our relationship take a huge leap forward. I don't want to push you into thinking I only came to your house to kiss you. I want to be friends first before we go into anything affectionately."

I do agree with him. The kiss did catch me off guard. But it did feel good too. I just met him. I know for sure that I don't see him as a boyfriend, just a friend. The kiss felt good because we are both young and just wanted to have to fun. It was a friendly kiss.

"Your right. I think we did take this a little too fast. I am perfectly fine In just being friends. We barely met after all. Thank you for coming and telling me this in person."

"I didn't want to just ignore what I really felt needed to be said. I'd be a jerk just to ignore you after I kissed you. That would make you seem as if you did something wrong. I didn't want that to happen. Thanks for being understanding."

"No problem." This wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" His voice was fully registered into my mind already. "Hey Alicia." He purposely pushed his way between us and said, "So are you going to introduce me?" Abraham said referring to Daniel.

"Abraham this is Daniel. Daniel, Abraham."

"It's nice to meet you man." Daniel said to Abraham.

"You too. You too." Abraham replied. "So I seen you yesterday but I didn't want to intrude on you two. I seen it got interesting." He said while bumping his shoulder to Daniel.

"We are just friends Abraham." I said setting everything straight.

"Yeah bro. We decided it would be best to be friends before anything happens." Daniel said smiling at me.

"I see." Abraham said with the biggest smile on his face.

Well this is awkward.

"Um. I got to go. I have an early shift tomorrow morning at the juice bar."

"Oh you work at the juice bar. Oh wait is it the juice bar that Alicia has been going to these past mornings?" Abraham said acting dumb.

"That would be the place." I said.

"I want to check it out. Hey we should go tomorrow Alicia." Abraham said thinking that that was the best idea he has ever come up with.

"Sure." I said.

"Okay. I'll see you both tomorrow than." He said getting up.

"I'll walk you out." I said getting up.

"Me too." Abraham said following.

He really didn't need to come.

We were at the front door standing awkwardly. "Um. Okay bye Alicia." Daniel said giving me a hug. "Abraham." He nodded a farewell.

I closed the door. "That guy totally wants you Alicia, even if he says he just wants to be friends." Abraham said.

"Oh come on. He came here tonight specifically to tell me he just wanted to be friends."

"Yeah so he didn't seem as the that guy who goes too fast."

"Whatever. I see him as a friend and a friend only. If something happens between us than it does."

I started to walk up the stairs.

"Anyways who are you to tell me something. You are just using poor Krystal. You guys aren't even an official couple."

"Who told you that?" He said following me upstairs.

"A little birdy." I opened the door to my room and he followed.

"I don't use her we are just having fun with one another."

"Well it looks like she thinks of you way differently than you see her."

"That may be true. I'm thinking of breaking it off with her. Well technically not breaking it off since she's not my girlfriend but letting her go. I don't see her as my future wife so why keep her around."

"It's for the best."

"So have you had any boyfriends in the past?"

"Why so curious Mr. Abraham?"

"It's just a question. Call it curiosity."

"You know what curiosity did to the cat."

"I'm serious Alicia. I want to know more about you."

"Um. Well I've never had a serious, serious relationship. So you could say I've never been in a relationship before."

"Really?" He said surprised.

"Why so surprised?"

"Well your what 22 and still no boyfriend."

"Yeah. No boyfriend." I was getting a little embarrassed/annoyed.

"Okay get the idea. I'll change the subject."

"Thanks." I started to play around with my makeup on my bed.

He was just laying there on my bed, watching.

"You know you really have changed Abraham. You are no longer a complete jerk to me anymore. Maybe a little but not complete."

"Hhmmm. You could say I got used to you. Anyways it's nice to have someone my age around the house."

"Can I ask you something but if offends you than you don't have to answer."

"Go for it."

"Why did you live with Ann?"

"I knew you'd ask me sooner or later." He sighed. "Well my parents are both druggies. They are both in the pin. I was taken away from them when I was just a toddler. My Grandmother took me in. She was more of a mom than my real mom ever will be."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I'm glad I could live with my Grandmother."

"I could tell you really love her."

"I do." He said smiling.

"You know you aren't half as bad as I thought you were in the beginning."

"Your not so bad yourself."

We smiled at one another and I knew that living with him and Ann was going to be just fine.
