Jaeshin's POV
"Attention, band members. Attention, band members. Please proceed to the gym after dismissal. Practice will be held for the upcoming school foundation day parade. Thank you." Mrs. Na called over from the speakers.
Yejin, my seat mate, stretched her arms. "Practice again." She said, but she didn't sound tired. I turned my head to Maeyoung who groaned in frustration. "Practice agaaaiiin." She buried her face on her palms.
Yan-ne agreed with Maeyoung. Younghee did the same with the two. She's not in the band but a majorette. Kira also whined. My best friend, Bora, can't join because of her religion.
Thankfully, our subject now was Mathematics. The room was noisy as always and the smart kids, such as Yejin and Younghee, only listened to the discussion. Our math teacher accidentally broke his voice, making us burst into laughter.
He just chuckled and the bell rang. "I guess that's all for today. Goodbye, class." We wore our bags and bid goodbye back to Mr. Choi. After he left the room, my classmates went pouring out.
Kira, Yejin, Younghee, Maeyoung, Yan-ne, Bora and I went out of the room and to the gym. Bora went with us just to watch our practice. We entered the gym and placed our bags on the bleachers before going to the instruments' room. Bora, of course, stayed in the bleachers.
The instruments are gathered by grade and we went to Class II-B. The five of us took our bell lyres while Younghee took her baton. We went back to the gym and our co-band members are already gathering.
The majorettes were called by their mother and Younghee rushed in front of the gym's stage. We went to the side and sat down, playing random songs we know on the lyre. "Jaeshin, how do you play Baam again?" Maeyoung asked.

I played Baam on my lyre and she copied what I did. "Oh, right. I almost forgot we were supposed to press this C." She chuckled and I did, too.. awkwardly. My laugh was never like them. Mine sounded fake even though it isn't.
The four of them got busy practicing while I spaced out. I snapped out of my trance when someone tapped my shoulder. I whipped my head to my right and saw a boy. Must be in Class IV.
He smiled, revealing his dimples. "Uhm, hi. Can I play with your lyre for a moment? I left mine at home." I smiled back and nodded, giving him my stick. "Thank you." He sat beside me and played Bad Romance by Lady Gaga.
That was no surprise since we will all play that piece, but you can tell that he's good at it. Next, he played Telephone. "Thank you again. Here." He gave me back my lyre and stick. We both looked at the person who suddenly called him.
"Jaehyun, come on!"
Oh, so his name is Jaehyun. "Coming!" He stood up and looked at me. "Thank you for letting me borrow. Bye." He waved his hand and ran towards his friends.
My eyes dropped back to my lyre. That was probably nothing. I shrugged and played one of our pieces.

It was Friday and instead of MAPEH, we have our Reading Time. We all went to the library and pulled out random books. My boy classmates who are way too tired to read a novel picked the ones for kids.
Well, they're not the only one. Bora and I also picked the kids ones, too, but at least they're longer than theirs. We went to the quiet side of the library (where educational books are) and passed by Yejin who was carrying three novels.

"You can finish that?" Bora asked her, chuckling. "Just this Wide Window." Yejin replied and went to her table where her friends are. Bora and I went to our table in the far corner and read our books in silence.
We were just busy talking about our boring life after we read our books when two students came in. I didn't put mind to it, though. After talking, we stayed in complete silence and my eyes landed on where the two students took a seat.
My eyes quite widened when I saw the other one was the guy who borrowed my lyre the other day. Jaehyun. Instead of his classmate, he was actually tutoring a kid. He laughed at what the kid said and that made my heart beat so freaking fast.
What the hell is wrong with me?

Gateway
An archaeologist by the name of Søren Quinn wakes up elsewhere after boarding a plane for Iceland. Now he has to come to terms with a significant loss of recent memory and his apparent death and rebirth, provided he can survive the rigors of the Tutorial on Gateway Station and whatever waits for him after the Tutorial. Updates. When I can... sorry. Author's Note. Gateway is a portal/isekai style GameLit novel, but it has two main lead characters and will eventually have a small cast of minor lead characters to support them. There will be small elements of base building / kingdom management added as well over time, but they will not be the focus. Gateway really is a slow burn that takes some time to get going unfortunately, but I hope you find it's worth the wait. Thank you! p.s. Book One is finally done (only needed one more chapter unfortunately...) but I'm off hiatus now and will be starting on Book Two right away!

Decapod
Reagan was just the average marine biology intern, but he never expected to be drawn into a portal and wake up as one of the creatures who dwells in the ocean. Not only is this seemingly new world confusing and filled to the brim with predatory monsters, but it seems to have a system like an RPG! But Reagan's hopes of incredible powers are quickly destroyed when he makes the discovery that he is a custacean, and crustaceans are the only monsters who can't evolve or get abilities as they level up, the only thing they get is bigger. PS. this is my first story, i accept criticism.
