《Blood & Sugar》Chapter 21

Sofia finds herself standing in an opulent room. The walls are painted a deep charcoal gray except for the back wall which is carved white stone. A full glass wall overlooks the woods, moonlight filtering in to illuminate the space. A huge bed that could easily fit ten people is raised on a platform and rests against the stone. The bedding is silky and black, looking delectably soft and rich. The view is breathtaking and it takes considerable effort to look away and examine the rest of the area.
A fireplace burns bright in a sitting area that houses a luxurious black leather sectional with a double chaise. Across from it is a modern bar made of black marble and gold accents with glass overlay on the bar top and glass shelves lining the wall to hold various bottles of liquor. The pendant lights above the bar are dimmed to cast a warm glow, keeping with the intimate atmosphere.
Something grazes Sofia's back like a phantom touch then Cassius comes into view. He is dressed in a deep emerald three-piece suit and a black dress shirt underneath. He is as tantalizing as ever which should be some kind of crime. Cassius saunters over to the bar where he grabs a bottle off of one of the shelves. Sofia does not recognize what it is and can not spot a label of any kind.
He pours some of what Sofia presumes is liquor into two rocks glasses and finally looks her way, head tilted down, green eyes piercing through long dark lashes. "I have a nice bottle of wine if you would prefer it" Cassius offers, still not actually divulging what the drink even is. Sofia's curiosity wins and she accepts the drink without question.
Cassius watches her take a small sip and savor the warmth it brings as she swallows. "Do you like it?" he asks.

"I do, it's rich and sweet and smooth. Nothing like I've ever had before."
Leaning forward slowly, Cassius licks a lingering drop off of Sofia's bottom lip before stepping back. "It is definitely smooth and sweet," he says with a smirk before downing his own drink.
Shakily setting her glass down, Sofia licks her lips still feeling his tongue sliding over them and wanting more, evident by the wetness between her legs and the fast beating of her heart. If his blazing eyes are anything to go by then Cassius knows exactly what effect he is having on her and is fully enjoying it.
For a moment, the two simply look into each other's eyes until the tension rises to a boiling point and their lips meet in a slow heated kiss. Passionate but languorous. Sofia desperately clutches onto the lapels of his suit jacket wanting to bring him as close as possible.
Amidst the kiss that is doing a valiant job of shutting down all of Sofia's brain cells, the world blurs and she is suddenly laying on what feels like clouds. A gasp leaves her as she reels from the abrupt change. Her arms fall beside her head and she feels silk beneath her touch letting Sofia knows it is the bed she had so admired earlier.
With the lights off except for the moonlight and the distant glow from the fire, Cassius places an open-mouthed kiss on her neck before removing his jacket. He straddles Sofia, running his hands up her legs and hips until he is gripping her waist. The way Cassius looks at her in a way no one ever has. As if she was a gift made just for him.
"I always knew you would look beautiful like this, sprawled over my sheets" he voices seductively "I am an inherently selfish being, my Destined. You are mine and I did not take kindly to some self-important baby cop trying to have you" he rasps, leaning down and licking Sofia's collarbone.

"It was just a friendly dinner" Sofia defends breathlessly and Cassius hums in acknowledgment. "Perhaps it was to you love. But I assure you it was not to him. If only I truly had you here I would make sure to show you exactly why there will never be anyone else for you" he whispers the last part against her ear, taking her lobe between his teeth.
"W-what do you mean? I am here" Sofia struggles to put together a coherent thought over the overpowering desire blazing through her body. Cassius pulls back enough to look down at her, his eyes heated but fond and perhaps a tad bit...sad? She must be interpreting that wrong.
"Do you trust me?" he breathes and Sofia doesn't hesitate to nod her head. The smile she receives is brilliantly breathtaking with just the barest wicked gleam and Sofia wonders how she had never noticed how pronounced his fangs are. Pearly white and sharp enough to cut. The sight of them makes her tremble. Whether it is out of fright or want, Sofia isn't quite sure.
One of his hands slides around to pull her up by her waist. Cassius leans back so he is sitting with Sofia in his lap. He holds her tightly in his arms and it feels so right and safe that Sofia never wants to leave. His other hand finds its way into her hair, gently tilting her head to expose the smooth skin. "I will never hurt you la mia anima. Just let go and feel."
Cassius licks her pulse point and Sofia can't suppress the soft moan that escapes her lips only to have it drawn out when a sudden piercing sensation floods her body with pleasure like she has never felt before. She can feel Cassius' mouth on her neck, his wet tongue against her skin, the sounds of him drinking deeply. His grip on her tightens and she can feel how hard he is against her.
The pair rocks against each other, Sofia pulling at the hair at his nape. "S-so good! Cass, please!" Sofia whimpers, not even knowing what she is begging for but knowing she needs this man the way she needs to breathe. Cassius lets go of her head, teasing his way down to her breast. His nimble fingers circle her hard nipple and Sofia's back arches, ready to climax from his simple touch. God! Oh, fuck! Oh, fuck! So close, so close so close-
Sofia's eyes pop open to a beam of sunlight streaming across her face, panting and painfully aroused but also sorely disappointed to find herself completely alone in her own bed. It had all been a dream. A damn good dream but she wishes it had been so much more. As she tries to recall it, the details start to blur and fog. The harder she tries, the further it slips from her.
Glimpses stick with her. The feeling of Cassius pressed up against her, fleeting images of his hands on her or his smoldering eyes but nothing more. A sob gets lodged in her throat at the idea of forgetting and she feels crazy for feeling this away over a steamy dream. The urge to touch herself and reach her end while thinking of Cass is strong but then the thought of imagining herself with him only to have him so far feels painful and drives the need away for now.
With a huff, Sofia throws her covers off and goes to take a shower. In the depths of her mind, she hopes the figment of Cassius continues to grace her dreams.
