《You can't run from us [BoyxBoy]》Chapter 36: Escape

Just as Alex was about to bite down on my neck the door to the bedroom flew open and someone yelled loudly:

“Movie- timeeeee!!”

I tensed up even more and I could feel Alex stop and pull back slowly. Even though I couldn’t see the door, thanks to Alex holding me down, I guessed that the person who had opened had spotted us on the bed because the silence was suddenly deafening. I could feel my face heating up again at the thought of somebody watching us and I suddenly got my voice back.

“Get of me now or I swear to god I will kick you between the legs until you can’t stand up Alex!” I threatened in a furious voice.

I could feel him shifting slightly before he sighed loudly and let go of my hands. He moved from on top of me and I wasted no time as I pushed myself up from the bed and rolled to the side, planting my feet on the floor once again. I gazed towards the door and saw a frozen Kevin standing there with a big bowl of popcorn in his hands.

If I hadn’t been so embarrassed right now I would have laughed at the expression on his face. As it was, I simply glared at Alex and stalked towards the door. I passed Kevin, who was still standing there staring at us and kept walking down the corridor towards the stairs.

What the hell just happened!?

Alex had been seconds away from biting me and I hadn’t done a shit! What was wrong with me?! How could I let that happen just now!?

I had managed to work myself into a slight panic as I descended the stairs and I had to draw some deep breaths to calm myself down. When I finally felt calm enough I kept walking along the corridor on the second floor and I realized I had no idea where the movie room was.

I didn’t need to worry though because a door at the end of the corridor suddenly slammed open and Kate came jumping out. She got her eyes on me and her face split into a wide grin.

“Ash, you turtle! We were just about to go look for you! The movie starts now so if you don’t want to miss out you have to hurry.” She said as she put a hand on her hip and gave me an impatient look. I had to prevent a laugh from escaping as I watched her. She seemed so small and yet she could look so stern.

“Fine, fine I’m coming. What are we watching anyway?” I said as I stepped up to her and she turned and walked back into the room she came from. I watched as she bounced across the darkly lit room and flung herself down between Amber and Vincent who was currently sitting on a couch together. Amber gave me a small smile and Vincent frowned in irritation.

“Finally, I thought you had fainted on your way or something.” Vincent muttered and I glared at him.

“Yeah, of course you did.” I answered dryly as I let my eyes roam around the room.

The walls of the movie-room were dark brown and several couches and armchairs were scattered all around. A big high-definition movie screen nearly covered a whole wall and I could see the big audio system standing close by.

I had to admit it was kind of cool.

“Are you going to stand there all day?” A smooth voice suddenly said and my eyes immediately found the couch on the left side of the room. I watched as Adam waved slightly and gestured for me to come and join him on the big couch.

Hmpf, as if I would do that...

I was just about to go sit in one of the armchairs when I felt strong arms wrap around me from behind. A small yelp escaped my lips as I was lifted from the ground and the person holding me walked towards Adam.

Without letting me down the person simply flopped down on the couch and placed me on his lap. I managed to turn my head and my eyes landed on Anton’s gleaming eyes. I grimaced at him and the way he firmly held me in place so that I couldn’t get of him.

“I’m glad you joined us Ash.” Anton said, smiling innocently at me. I huffed in irritation but allowed myself to relax slightly in his hold. There was no way I would be able to force my way out of his grip anyway, so what was the point in struggling?

“Ash...” Adam said from beside us on the couch and I turned my head in his direction.

I was just about to ask what he wanted when his lips connected with mine. I was too shocked to react as he lifted a hand and threaded his fingers through my hair pulling my face closer to his. He deepened the kiss and managed to slip his tongue past my lips and into my mouth. Anton, who still had his hands on my hips, started to draw small circles just underneath the hem of my shirt and I could fell shivers running down my spine.

I was frozen in place as Adam explored my mouth and I knew that even if I tried he wouldn’t let me pull back right now. He was enjoying it and if I was going to be honest with myself I didn’t mind it all that much...at least not as much as I probably should have.

I could hear a slight growl of approval from Adam when I didn’t move and after a while he slowly pulled back and let me go. I blinked a few times as I let my brain process what had just occurred and I could see Adam grinning at me.

“That’s for not coming when I told you to come and sit with me.” He said in a smug voice.

I shook my head and gave him a slight glare. I guess I deserved it for ignoring him earlier but that didn’t mean I agreed with him.

“I can sit where I want.” I muttered childishly and I could hear both Anton and Adam chuckle at my behavior.

When the door suddenly flew open I turned my head towards it and watched as Kevin and Alex stepped through. Alex eyes immediately found mine and I could see his eyes take in the scene before him.

I was still sitting on Anton’s lap and he still had his hands under the hem of my shirt. Adam where leaning against Anton but playing with my left hand at the same time. I guess I didn’t exactly look “not gay” at the moment...

I blushed as Alex smirked at me and I hoped that the darkness of the room would hide it. I did not want to be teased about it right now.

Alex strolled over to us and winked at me before he threw himself down on the other side of Anton. I tried to ignore him the best I could by watching Kevin instead. He was still standing by the door with the bowl of popcorn safely wrapped in his arms and I could feel the corners of my mouth twitch slightly.

“Are you going to stand there all day?” I said, imitating Adam’s voice as best as I could. I saw Kevin turn towards me and he gave me a slight wink and countered:

“Only if you want me to.”

“Now why would I want that, you’re ugly.” I shot back, trying to sound genuine.

I could feel Anton laughing against me and hear both Alex and Adam trying to contain their laughter beside us. Kevin glared at me and pouted and I couldn’t help but laugh at him.

“Schhh! The movie is about to start!” Kate suddenly whined and I suppressed my laugh the best I could. She would probably behead me if I didn’t shut up.

Kevin seemed to realize that too and quickly moved over to one of the armchairs. He sat down with the bowl of popcorn and immediately started stuffing his mouth with them. I rolled my eyes in his direction when he shot me a wicked smile and I could feel Anton tugging me closer. I had my back pressed against his chest and his arms were safely wrapped around me. I chose to ignore it as I turned my eyes towards the TV, trying to figure out what we were watching.

Transformers. Of course.

I groaned internally as the movie started and I realized that I would have to see it for what had to be the seventh time. I was almost able to recite the lines by now. Well, I guess the fact that Kate was happy mattered more to me than my own entertainment. I sighed as I leaned my head against Anton’s chest and made myself comfortable. This was going to take a while...

[Four and a half hour later]

I was going insane.

We had finished the first movie a long time ago and were now almost at the end of the second Transformer movie. You know the one with the big pyramid and Megan Fox still as the female lead character and that guy going to collage and...well yeah, that one...

I swear my legs had fallen asleep like an hour ago because I couldn’t feel them anymore. If I was going to be forced to sit here for another two and a half hour as we watched the third movie I was seriously going to kill myself.

Of course that wouldn’t be necessary though because neither I nor Kate would be here by the end of this movie. I had kept a close eye on the glowing clock on the wall and I had concluded that the rescue team should be here around twenty minutes from now.

Matt and Regina had said that they would reach this place in about five hours but I had fate in them actually arriving earlier. They usually did know when I was serious and I had told them to hurry the hell up. I expected them to do just that.

If they didn’t, I would kill them both...

Ten more minutes past as I watched the stupid movie and I was getting itchy. I guess I wasn’t good at keeping a straight face because suddenly Anton seemed to decide that he had had enough of my squirming and he leaned down closer to me.

“Why are you so on edge baby?” He whispered against my ear and I tensed slightly.

“Lie Ash!” I thought as I tried to come up with a way to excuse myself without raising suspicion.

“Eh...I need to use the bathroom...” I finally answered and a second of silence passed.

I had almost given up hope on Anton answering when I felt his hand retreat from my waist so I could get of his lap. I jumped up quickly to make sure that he wouldn’t change his mind and I flashed him a grateful smile before I walked towards the door.

Once I reached it I paused and turned in the direction of where Kate was sitting, watching the movie intensely. How would I be able to get her to come with me without making a big deal of it?

There was only one thing I could do...

“Kate, I’m going to the bathroom and then I’m going to walk by the kitchen on my way back. Do you want to come with me and help me pick something eatable to bring back?” I asked in a soft voice and I was relieved to hear that my voice didn’t falter as I lied. I had never been good at lying so I guess it was just sheer luck...

Kate immediately ripped her eyes from the TV-screen and flashed me a big smile. I knew she couldn’t say no to food, no matter how much she liked this movie.

I watched as she rose from her seat and skipped over to me. I ruffled her hair and took a hold on one of her tiny hands before I turned to the door again.

Just before I closed the door after us I looked in the direction of the three brothers one final time and my heart jumped when my eyes locked with Alex’s. His eyes glimmered in the dark room and I forced myself to calm my breathing.

He didn’t know this was the last time he would see me but somehow I still felt guilt wash over me like a big bucket of ice. They had told me that a werewolf’s mate was the single most important person in their lives and yet here I was, running from fear of getting hurt...again.

I sighed slightly and gave Alex a gentle smile before I slowly nudged the door closed.

I stood on the other side, staring into thin air until I felt a small tug at my hand and my eyes met with Kate’s worried gaze. I quickly smiled down at her and turned on my heels, taking her with me as I descended the stairs to the main floor.

“I want popcorn. Do you think they have popcorn Ash or do you think that Kevin has eaten them all? It wouldn’t surprise me you know, because he seems like one of those stupid boys that doesn’t know the meaning of sharing. I mean if it was me, I would never bring a bowl of popcorn and not offer the others some. That’s like telling people that they can smell the cookie but not have it...don’t you agree Ash?” Kate ranted and she didn’t even noticed when I tugged her past the kitchen entrance and kept walking down the corridor towards the front door. When she finally did notice I had already opened the door, stepped out with her at my side and closed it again.

Kate seemed to be at a loss of words because she didn’t say anything and I had to drag her after me as I started down the path towards the place where we had parked the cars when we first arrived here. I knew that when Matt and Regina came they would have to park there too because they couldn’t get any closer to the house.

When the parking space came into view I let out a small sigh in relief as my eyes landed on the familiar car that I knew belonged to Matt’s mom. Thank god they were already here! I started jogging in their direction, dragging Kate with me as I went.

We were going to make it! We were going to escape from this place in one piece and we...

“Is that...” Kate started but both her question and my swirling line of thoughts were cut short when a loud roar shook the ground around us. I think I turned deaf for a minute or so and I could feel my heart jump into overdrive as I started sprinting towards the car.

I could hear a loud cracking and then a thumping sound, as if something heavy had landed on the ground. The hair on my neck rose and I sure as hell didn’t want to look back because I could almost guess what I would be seeing. My body didn’t want to run this fast but when Kate started to have a hard time keeping up with my big steps I had no other choice then to yank her up into my arms and keep running.

Please let us get to the car in one piece! It wasn’t that far left and I’ll be damned if I didn’t make it!

“Oh my God Ash!! Run! It’s a...a...it’s a...!” Kate started screaming and I could hear the panic in her voice as she looked at something over my shoulder.

I had a pretty good idea of what she was seeing...

Shit!

I slammed into the side of the car and nearly fell over as I jerked the backdoor open and flung myself and Kate inside.

“Drive! Drive for fuck sake!” I shouted as I slammed the car door closed behind me and crawled further inside. I barely registered Matt and Regina’s shocked faces before the car shot forward and accelerated.

Matt turned the corner of the big parking space and entered the road, nearly landing us in the ditch in his haste to get us away. Regina let out a shriek as the car jerked and I grabbed both Kate and the handle on the backdoor to keep us from slamming against the side of the car.

Please just don’t let us crash!

After another rush of panic Matt managed to finally get the car under control but he kept his foot on the gas pedal. I guess that was a good thing because when I finally dared to turn around and look at the place we were escaping from, I could clearly make out the shape of a big, black and scary wolf standing in the middle of the road.

As I watched, the wolf threw back its head and let out a howl that shook me to my bones. I could feel a strong pain jabbing at my heart as the both sorrowful and angry howl flowed through me and I had to put my hands against my ear in an attempt to tune out the sound.

“I’m so sorry...” I silently whispered as the big wolf disappeared behind us.
