William shouts over the phone pulls me out of my sleep and a frown crossed my face as I witnessed his angry frustration. I could feel the emotions flooding through his veins. The anger, the annoyance, the frustration, the pain. It almost makes me feel the same.

His body contrasts so hard to the vibrant bedroom we were in right now. Surprisingly, we fell asleep on my bed instead of his since the TV in my room was larger. Sleeping next to William, protected in his arms was a whole other level of feeling. It's safe to say sleeping with William makes me sleep better and I'm more dependent on him than I was before.

"Whatever, fuck. I'll be there in a bit," he growled before angrily cutting off the phone. I could tell it wasn't someone from the pack since he used his phone instead of mind linking. "What's wrong?" I pouted. His fingers ran through his hair, William looks at everything but me. "William," I repeated. His eyes finally snapped to mine at the seriousness in my voice.

"Sorry, I don't like when you see me upset," William mumbled and sat beside me on the bed. Crawled into his lap and hugged him. "It's going to be okay, you'll figure out whatever's happening," I assured him softly.

"I know, I know but it's fucking stressing me out! The guy burnt down a packhouse, Everest. A packhouse. Three got hurt only and he's lucky everyone is recovering," William groaned and falls back on the bed with me sitting on his torso.

This was odd news. Why would a werewolf burn down a packhouse? I felt remorse for the pack. A packhouse is such a special place to a pack, it's an important place where they all can connect. "I might have to go and check it out but the alpha is waiting for me at the packhouse. The guy fled and he's demanding that we find him," William frowned.

"Then I'll go with you. We'll help them rebuild it and find the guy. Why are you here? You should be with the Alpha," I assured him with a smile on my face. I leaned down to peck his lips before getting off the bed. "Thank you, Ev," William whispered and his hands circled my waist for a lingering hug before he leaves.

"I'll come back as soon as I can. Go shopping with Renee or something, my credit card is in my wallet in the closet," William suggested in which I mentally declined. He spends way too much money on me already. "Okay, I will," I lied and he smiles in satisfaction. William said his goodbyes before running off to do his duties.

I fall back on the bed and just stayed like that for a bit. Finally, when I decided to stop being lazy I got off the bed and did my usual morning routine. After that, I had breakfast with Jayden and Renee. Even then they had to leave me to train new pups. So I was left alone, in the massive castle.

Remembering Vison's words, I made my way to the massive library they had and as expected, I was struck with shock at the sight of their library. It's freaking massive. Every wall was covered with books, there were rows and rows of shelves and in the middle of its wall was a huge table with chairs accompanied by a comfy looking sofa set.

My eyes caught a thick book with a beautifully designed spine. The second it was in my hands, I dropped it to the floor. A loud knocking from the back entrance flooded my ears, startling me since there was pure silence around. "What could that be?" I mumbled to myself. I've never been to the back of the castle much but I followed the sound of the knocking and it takes me to a glass door.

It only took me a second to recognize the person. "What the-? Erin?" I blurted out of shock. He looked like a mess and for some reason, his clothes and hair were wet. "Everest! Thank the goddess! Please let me in before someone sees me!" Erin blurts out, his hands still knocking on the glass window.

He wasn't shocked to see me at all. As if he knew I'd be here. "How did you get here?" I shout back and opened the door finally. "I-I...I don't know how to say this, Ev. Damn, it's just- please let me in. It wasn't my fault," Erin rambles off. "What was your fault?" I cautiously asked. His eyes widened and Erin froze for a bit. His face relaxed and he shook his head. "I swear it was like a war zone to get here but I swam through the river. I nearly died six times in the past hour, I swear. You have to help me, Everest. I'm Erin, your brother. Please," Erin pleaded.

That explains why he's wet but not what he's guilty of. "What wasn't your fault!?" I snapped angrily. "The packhouse burning down. It wasn't me! I was framed. I have proof but it isn't that believable but it's the closest thing I have to clear my name. I'd never burn down a house, Everest. You know me," Erin finally broke through.

I wasn't expecting that. How did he get here so quickly? There has to be a better explanation. "Okay...okay. Stay here, I'll get you some clothes," I decided. A relieved smile cracked his lips and he ran into the house and locked the door behind him. Hesitantly, I left him there while I went to William's room to get something for him to wear.

I grabbed a hoodie and sweatpants before running back down the staircase. "Here, the bathroom is there, I think," I guided. Thankfully, I guessed the right room. Erin got changed and we walked to the kitchen in silence. "Please explain, it's been so long since I've seen you," I mumbled with a sigh. Erin brings back both happy and sad memories.

"I know, I know but your name is everywhere. Everyone knows your King William's mate and I just had to come here. I need your help in clearing my name. They all want me dead, I promise I'm innocent," the soft sadness in his eyes as he begged me told me that I should help him. Erin is my brother that left too soon for college. He was living his life and now I am.

"Well, how about you tell me what happened? And where is this proof of yours?" I suggestively say with my arms folded across my chest. Erin sighed and brushed his fingers through his brown dyed hair with blonde natural roots. "So um...at Staire University I learned how to uh hack into some very protected technology stuff and...I never used it for any bad things I promise! But I don't have the proof on me. I need a computer to hack into the packhouse's secret security cameras," Erin struggled to explain.

"I pissed off some guy because his girl was flirting with me and when she got caught she blamed it on me. I swear, in every situation, the guy is always the wrong one. Is the girl never wrong? I didn't even flirt back! But I'm a guy caught with a girl so I was wrong," He rambled off after. Clearly, the situation annoyed him.

I blankly stared at Erin while my mind went crazy. We never kept in touch and now it feels like we don't know each other. My lips parted to say something when I was interrupted by the door shutting. "Everest!" William shouts after the front door slams shut.

Crap.
