《Wedding In Pandemic ( Completed ✔)》LOCKED IN

All the family members mine and adh. . . Arjun's were gathered infront the tv.
People would wake up from a coma if they heard the way i screamed. The whole hungover family were sitting here and there with their heads in their hands. With the pain and the pressure of the situation.
Everyone came out of their room grumbling or cursing. I saw adhi looking fine as day walking into the room and i purposefully ignored that smoking hot black shirt and knee length jean shorts he wore.
"What am i gonna do?" Jeevam uncle said. Defeat laced his voice.
"How am i gonna conduct my childs wedding in such circumstances?" His eyes teared up.
"Papa.." tara sent beside him and perched on the arm of the couch besides her father.
"Its fine papa. We could do a register marriage for all i care" tara calmed him.
"No! Your wedding is my biggest dream baby. I wont settle for anything less" he pulled her into a hug.
So thats what a loving father looks like.
Then mohan uncle my second uncle and vivek and varuns father spoke "How would we do this jeeva?"
He stood and moved to the center of the room.
"Dads gonna do a presentation. Be ready." Vivek whispered in my ears.
I stiffled a giggle and mohan uncle started to speak.
"There are no transportation facilities, no shops, no banks. How would we arrange it? We cant hire anyone for the decorations, catering. Hell we can't even get her jewels out of the bank locker" he rushed out.
Then only the depth of the situation hit me. Damn we were really locked in.
"A wedding cannot be organised in a jiffy jeeva. It needs a proper plan and design. We cant even hire an organiser for this" . He sighed and went back to his seat.
Huh! If they had hired my company in the first place i could have had my workers here and could have used them to plan the wedding. But nope my designs were too Simple for mohan uncle. Serves him right.
"Maya is an organiser"
For a second i stopped breathing.
Why would adhi say that? How did he know?
Everyone in the crowd turned to the source of the voice.
But It was arjun.
Its because of their similar voices. Why else would you think it was adhi.

"Right? I remember tara saying something about that. You work in quatra right? Diane's company?"
Whoa. He knew my boss.
"You know diane?" I creaked out.
"Ya i am the design engineer for her custom made S cross" he said.
We all looked at him in expectance
I had no idea what an s cross was.
"Its a new car. Its yet to be released." He finished as if sensing my feelings.
"My point is, maya is an event organiser. A team leader for that matter. Quatra handles major events like filmfare and stuff. Is a wedding such big a task for you?" He looked at me.
And he. . . Oh my god. He was making puppy eyes at me. And oh lord it was working.
I shook my head from the haze and slapped him in the forearm. He laughed.
"I actually offered to do it at first but, they rejected me." I looked at mohan uncle and he lifted his arms in defeat.
"I didnt reject you sweetie. Your designs were. . . " he did a gesture with his hands which roughly translates to not enough.
I looked at arjun and shrugged.
"That could work you know." It was tara who spoke.
"I mean she knows the field. In such a case like this, this is the beat alterntive way we could have."
Jeevan uncle was thinking. I could tell because he had the typical thinking face. Knuckles under his chin. Eyebrows scwiggled in concentration.
"Could you do it honey?" He asked suddenly.
Okay i didnt expect that.
"Wha.. what?" I stuttered.
"Could you organise the wedding?" He asked.
"I .. i would love to. I mean its my sister's wedding. Im happy to do it" i shrieked.
Tara joined and jeevan uncle was smiling. And guess who wasnt smiling.
My dad.
"Are you sure about this jeevan? She's just a stupid kid. She's not capable of handling this kind of work". His shrill voice said.
My face dropped. And i hated myself for it. I hated the fact that how many walls i built against him, he still has tbe power to hurt me.
Jeevan uncle rose and held me by my shoulder "Thats my choice to make Ravi. My niece is more than capable of handling this responsibility. I know that very well".

A small smile spread across my face. He bend down and whispered in my ear. "Especially the Vodka in the orange juice. Splendid idea"
My eyes went wide as i looked at him. And he just winked and slapped my back.
My father rose from his seat and walked out the room. My mom mumbled an apology and followed him.
"What do you need maya? You're in charge of the wedding now. Just ask."
"Uhmmm okayyy. We need to work on the design first." I thought for a second. "Actually we dont. The set for the engagement is still there. We could use it after making some alterations."
Ideas started popping up in ny brain.
"Okay jeevan uncle you call the decorators and ask them to leave this set here for the time being and you'll pay them for it."
"Ok" he took his phone and walked out the room. One by one all of the grown ups walked out. Clearly dissapointed by the decision.
I ran to my room and grabbed my laptop and came back. I opened a file in my office drive and showed them an old design i used for the company.
"We could do this with the set if we had access to a lot of colorful fabric. Where are we gonna get it?"
"What kind of fabric?" Arjun asked he was sitting next to me and tara while the rest of the monkey gang were peeking from behind the couch.
"You know colorfull, shiffon and best if in floral patterns." I stopped.
Oh shit we did have access to that. As if understanding where i was going me and arjun slowly turned our heads towards tara.
She was oblivious looking at the screen. But then she looked at us.
I smiled. Arjun must have did the puppy eyes thing cause Tara's eyes softened for a bit and sharpened.
"Ohhh hell no" tara shot up from her seat. "Im not sacrificing my sarees just for a wedding."
"Your wedding tara" i snapped
"Regardless. Im not giving you my sarees." She crossed her arms. Stubborn bitch.
I heard adhi chuckle behind me. When did he get here?
"Something funny adhitya?" Tara snapped. He lifted his arms in mock defeat.
"Tara tara hey listen to me." Arjun cupped her face and started talking to her in a soft voice. She relaxed.
Oohhs and awwws raised from the monkey gang behind but i couldnt move.
Dejavu struck me so hard i involuntarily glanced back towards adhi. He was also watching the couple. Nostalgia laced in his eyes.
He suddenly turned to me and i immediately turned back.
"All right?" Arjun asked tara. And she nodded. But still had daggers in her eyes for me. I stuck my tongue out and she smiled.
"Ok so the fabric is set what next?" Arjun sat beside me again.
I told them my plan. We decided to remodel the skelton of the set. Old decorations will be removed and retouched by new ones.
We decided to opt for paper flowers instead of real ones and appointed the twin girls as the incharge. They were so excited they actually gave me 5 flowers made from newspaper that moment itself.
The music was handed over to dhriti and photography was volunteered by adhi. I didnt like the idea but i wasn't in a position to randomnly reject him.
The next and main problem was food. How would we cook for such a large crowd. Both families combied it was almost 80 people all together. Mixed with the close neighbours it will be a 100.
How can we make food for hundred people without the necessary supplies?
More than that how would we move the supplies without transportation?
"We have more than enough man power here. So maybe we can cook by ourselves?" I said.
"But.. the food for marriage is another question. We have to feed almost 80 people 4 meals a day for 2 weeks. How are we going to do that?" Adhi questioned.
"The parents has to answer that its not our decision to make" i answered.
"The decorators called. They agreed to leave the set and the caterers agreed to leave their vessels for cooking." Jeevan uncle walked into the room.
"Okay great. Now all we need are the groceries and a lot of pins and glue." I chimed.
There is a lot of work to do.
