'what do you mean I won't be able to have pups?' Venus whispered in disbelief, her honey-brown eyes wide with unshed tears,

as her lower lip trembled and the color in her cheeks heightened from the internal hysteria her body was feeling.

Dante sighed and went to sit next to her on the bed,

'Venus, despite the fact that you have alpha blood running in you doesn't make you strong enough in regards to carrying my pup, I am a Lycan,

a full lycan, not one part of me is a werewolf, a Lycan pregnancy is very different, its very painful and the mother has to be a lycan to be able to withstand and birth a healthy lycan pup, in this regard you cannot give birth Venus,

I'm sorry, I can't stand the thought of losing my mate in the process of giving me pups, I refuse to put you through that.'

'b-but Sophia and Knox- e-even he was afraid to have pups but everything is oka-' Venus said in manic, her voice trembling as if trying to convince herself and Dante it would work,

Dante sensing her panic grabbed her by the arms and shook her gently as if wanting to rid of that thought,

'Venus, their situation was completely different, for them, it wasn't a matter of safety, Knox was just traumatized from what had happened to him that's why,

it's completely different for us, it's not about a matter of if, it's about a matter of when, it's impossible, I'm a full born Lycan Venus, it's suicide on your part if you tried and murder on my part if I let you,' he said, whispering the last part,

Venus heard everything, but it was as if his voice was coming from far away, he was sitting next to her but his voice was distant,

she hummed in response, her body felt light, as if she was on air, her mind unable to decipher what had just happened, or what had been said.

'I've always wanted a baby,' Venus whispered achingly after a few moments of silence, as silent tears ran down her face,

Dante pulled her to himself as she buried her face into his chest and wept, she cried for her loss, she cried for herself and she cried for the one thing she always wanted and now she was never able to have.

'd-dante please w-we can at least try once, I wanna have a-a baby,' venus said through her sobs and hiccups, as he rubbed her back soothingly and she only seemed to cry harder, his body grew tense when she said she wanted to try for a baby.

eyes emotionless and voice gruff, he held her close to himself but this was something that he could never give into because if he did, he could completely lose her in the process.

'ask anything of me Venus, but not this, I won't ever give you up for anything, this is a risk I won't even consider taking,

save your breath because we will not try for a baby and the quicker you accept that the easier it will be, I can't- I won't lose you, to anything,'

'Dante please i-'

'we won't have a baby Venus, I think I've made myself clear,' Dante said in a rough voice, nestling a crying Venus to his chest as she sat in his lap clutching his shirt.

Venus rolled over in bed, sunlight glinting through the windows and she looked over, finding herself cocooned in Dante's arms,

his leg draped over her, securing her between his body, she must have passed out from exhaustion last night, Venus thought,

cuddling into the warmth her mate offered as she suddenly started feeling empty inside from the thought that she will never be able to have kids of her own, it was heartbreaking.

just as those thoughts were about to consume her she felt heated kisses on her neck and warm hands run over her bare stomach from where her shirt had lifted,

'good morning,' Dante husked out, his voice even more deep and rough from sleep

'good morning,' Venus replied softly, pecking him on the lips, as she lay in his embrace, letting his even breathing calm her.

After they freshened up and showered Dante had to attend to some pack business, he refused to leave venus alone after what had happened but she assured him she would be okay and he should go to the pack meeting since it was important,

not entirely convinced Dante left after giving her a heated kiss, promising to be back as soon as he was done and he should tell her instantly if something was wrong.

Venus stayed home trying to divert her attention by cleaning around the house, giving the helpers a day off and doing everything herself, but she was so into her tasks that she was done way before than she thought she would be,

finally with being left alone with nothing to do she let the thoughts consume her, so tuned into her demons she forgot everything around her

kaya was pacing around, on edge, Venus has blocked off mind linking so Dante wouldn't even know what was going through her head that way,

when kaya would try getting to Enzo, Venus would block her out completely.

'why me?' was the only thing running through her mind.

so enraptured in rage and sadness that amidst her chaos she lost control, Venus's body gave out, kaya took control, and she broke into a fit,

kaya and Venus's emotions mixed up, and kaya gave into the rage, she shifted completely into her wolf form and thrashed everything in the living room, when she had broken and destroyed everything in sight,

kaya made a run for it straight through the front door and into the deep forests, she ran as fast as she could and as much as she could till she reached a cliff,

panting she looked over the edge, as she cried out for the loss of her parents, the loss of having a child, and the loss of all that she believed in,

and it was late into the evening that a howl was heard, it was so strong, so raw, the entire pack if not heard it- felt it in their hearts,

through the bond that connected all of them, it was the cry of a broken wolf, a mourning wolf calling out for help,

it was so strong that it sent Dante to his knees, he was in the middle of a pack meeting with the warriors and the superiors of the pack when he heard it, his breath caught in his throat and he stumbled,

while everyone else in the room experienced something similar, an ache in their chest, looking towards where the howl came from he stood up and whispered with pain laced in his voice

'venus.'
