《her dark lycan》chapter 19

Venus woke up to the sun glinting through the windows, lazily she opened one eye while yawning and rubbing the other, stretching lightly, she felt like she had been ran over by a truck.

Just then there was a knock on the door and the packhouse cook, Elsa, a wonderful lady in her 50s, peeked through the door and smiled warmly at Venus.

"Good morning darling, how are you feeling?" She asked, patting Venus's cheek in a motherly way.

"I'm good Elsa thank you," Venus said smiling.

"Well darling go freshen up and get ready, I've cooked breakfast for you, come down then before it gets cold," Elsa said.

"Wheres Dante?" Venus asked

"Oh the alpha had some meetings to attend to, he told me to make you breakfast and make sure you have it to fix your disposition from last night," Elsa said, walking out of the room.

Venus then freshened up and wore blue shorts and a soft colored yellow tee.

She then had her breakfast and went to grab a book to read, as she sat in the living room with a warm mug of green tea.

Feeling a little sad she wasn't able to see Dante in the morning, and she also felt an incoming headache, which she ignored and went back to reading her book.

"No how is that possible?" Dante asked as he stood in the pack meeting room with the elders and the pack doctor, his forearms braced on the large mahogany table.

"Your lycan, alpha, its powerful, its call is potent as it is and then a call to its own mate would be like a sirens calling, her wolf surfaced last night, and we've only seen one case like this before and it was a myth heard, read in books," the elder said.

"Alpha I don't think-"

"What was in the books," Dante demanded through clenched teeth.

"Your lycans calling, to her wolf, we don't think shes healed enough to withstand the sudden overtake of her wolf back on her,

last night as you said she remembered, that means her wolf surfaced, now your lycans calling is stronger to her wolf and where ever she is, she's going to come running,

her presence would be like a tidal wave crashing on venus, I don't think she can take the sudden burden of her wolf's reappearance, especially that shes not entirely healed alpha," the pack doctor said.

"What's the worst that could happen?" Knox asked darkly, looking at the pack doctor, who gulped audibly and pulled at the collar of his shirt.

"You see beta Knox it-"

"Spit it out," Gabriel growled impatiently.

"It could kill her," the pack doctor let out in a choked voice.

And the heavy tense silence that filled the room afterward was deafening.

"How long?" Dante asked through clenched teeth, the irises of both eyes darkening with rage.

"How long before what?" The elders asked.

"How long before her wolf comes back?" Dante growled, slamming his fists against the table making even the strongest of warriors leap with fear.

"That's the thing alpha, it could be any time, once shes surfaced we never know when her wolf will be back, it could be today or tomorrow, maybe even a year from now," the pack doctor said.

"If it does happen, how do we lessen the presence of her wolf enough that her body could withstand it," Dante asked emotionlessly.

The sweating pack doctor unbuttoned the top button of his dress shirt and took his glasses off, a grave look on his face.

"You'll need a miracle alpha," he said.

Hearing this Dantes Lycan was ready to rage, he needed venus.

He stood up angrily and stormed off the pack room, with everyone else looking at him in distress, and worried for their luna.

It was around 4 when Dante walked through the front door, the house being completely silent, confused he walked up to her room to find it empty, he went down to the living room and still saw no signs of her, slightly fearful of where she was he quickly started checking everywhere, no signs of her.

He quickly walked into his room to wear joggers to go find her when he saw her sleeping peacefully on his bed, a book beside her.

Sighing a breath of relief he walked towards her, slowly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she stirred a bit and then opened her eyes to see her mate in front of her.

A bright smile graced her rosy lips upon seeing him, as he chuckled at her happy state, his Lycan prideful that she was happy upon seeing him.

"Hey, baby,"

"Hi," she said back shyly.

"So raiding my bed huh," he teased.

Venus blushed deeply and hid her face in the pillow, enticing a deep throaty laugh from Dante who pulled her by the waist and up against his chest.

"I missed you," she whispered softly, with her head on his chest and arms around his neck, because of his height she was able to do so, while she stood on the bed and him on the ground.

Arms around her waist he kissed her forehead and said nothing.

After dinner they both sat in the kitchen, talking about pack stuff and dante trying to avoid the question of when she was going to get healed fully again as she asked him over and over.

She didn't need to know.

"Dante stop avoiding the question and tell me what the doctor said, how long before I fully heal and how?" She asked persistently.

He clenched his jaw and said nothing.

"Dante I asked you a quest-"

"Dammit venus can you be quiet, I said I don't know!" He said loudly, making her jump.

Breathing heavily, angry at himself for losing control and scaring her, he got up and left the kitchen before he said something he didn't mean again.

He knew venus enough, he knew she would do anything to get her wolf back, even if it meant her life at stake, but that was a risk he was not willing to take, ever. He couldn't by any means lose her, she meant too much to him.

As she watched him storm out of the kitchen she stood frozen in her place, he had never raised his voice at her, and he did now.

She felt an ache in her chest, as angry tears filled her eyes, falling over.

She brushed them off angrily and started putting the dishes in place, her lower lip trembling.

Venus then realized that her mate had got really angry at her, she wasn't used to it, she had only seen his soft side ever since she woke up in that hospital room, this was new to her, she couldn't accept it.

His words hurt her, and his tone made her crack under his resolve as she sat on the marble floor near the kitchen counter and cried.

Hot tears ran down her face as she sniffed and curled up into a ball, resting her head on her knees.

After a while she stopped crying, once again a headache was forming, it was stronger than the last one she took pain killers for, shakily she stood up to get to the living room, halfway through pain sliced through her, she felt as if someone slammed a rock against her head and her knees shook.

Holding her head in her hands she slowly started walking towards the living room when another wave of pain hit her, this time making her fall to the ground, as she sat on her knees a loud groan escaped her.

"D-dante," she called out chokingly.

Another stronger wave of pain hit her, this time she screamed.

"DANTE!"

As she fell to the ground sideways, her vision went dark, and she felt like someone was hitting a hammer on her head.

And an ear-deafening scream pierced the air, as the next moment she felt like this was her end.

Dante was just walking back to the house when he heard her blood-curling scream and he sprinted towards the house and barrelled through the door to see Venus on the ground, curled up clutching her head and screaming.

"VENUS!" He thundered and quickly ran to her side, her eyes still clenched shut as she tried pulling at her hair from the sheer pain.

"VENUS STOP," he said, but it was as if she didn't even know he was there.

Dante picked her up and ran out of the house, as Venus started shaking in his arms, her screams filled the night air, running with all his might into the pack hospital.

This gave him nostalgia, of how he was carrying her out of the warehouse, he prayed the outcome wasn't the same as last night but deep down he knew it would be worst because of her current condition.
