I woke up from my best dream so far right away took the quicksilver I bought because its so common for it to be used with magic in novels, and it sounded cool. I looked around for the magic stones I had at the moment, they were hidden somewhere among the trash. There was also a box for the biggest magic stone I got so far, magic stones come from beasts and monsters and crystals come from nature btw.
The blood and water... I of course had water, but blood isn't something I have on hand for magic at all times... Definitely.
Oh, where did this bottle of blood, that I definitely didn't have it stored it in my storage ring since I tried the spirit summoning from the first Arthur dream and failed, come from? Man, god works in mysterious ways, tsk, tsk, tsk. But I'm sure he has plans for me, the homeless man jesus. Maybe I should make christianity a thing here?
No, not yet, not while I have a cult to start.
Back to dream exploitation, I walked outside to a big rock out with a hole in it where only my I could go in and have my body completely hidden while standing up. I made it myself for anonimity, I could easily peek out though, I made a stair case and a chair that had uneven legs just for this giant rock.
I took my knife and started to scratch into a tile I made with a chisel a few months ago, brought it up here because, secrets of magic need to be kept secret.
I quickly made the two circles and big rune, sadly this world didn't have good glas like in the dream. So I used a clay bottle easily made with pottery, I even made a glaze! Any idea how much internet scrolling memories I had to go through to remember that? 6 years of random searching! Wasn't that hard since most of the info was lost right after.
I infused the blood in the circle with mana, I did it based on feeling. 100 mp would be good enough, right? I did the same thing dream me did and picked up one of the stones I prepared, I put in all my leftover mana. I put it over the stone above the circle as quick as possible, and stone cracks. The circle glowed faintly but quickly died out, hmm? Did I not infuse the blood with enough mana? Magic stones are worth almost nothing here, so I could get some servants to get a few hundred more for me.

I jumped out of the rock and ran over too a servant in the hall and told him "I'm the next heir to the seat of patriarch, and I want 1000 magic stones delivered to me by the end of today." And walked away with confident body language, like what I said was destined to happen.
I ran back to little hole like nothing happened and I tried again, but this time instead of a rock, I used a magic stone, and I put in all 400 mp into the blood. The blood lighted up into blue light, a little too much... "Oh shi-!" I jumped out of the blast radius the moment I felt something was off, luckily I had a lot of free time back on the old world and knew that magic alchemy and strong light when doing magic when it isn't supposed to means that an explosion in imminent.
I was lucky that I tested with water instead of blood since that's easier to get, I wasn't sure what I needed to do so that it wouldn't explode. But looking at how it exploded would tell many things, What I saw made my life a lot easier. The explosion didn't come from the stone slab but the magic circle, That meant that I just put to much mana into the blood.
I tried the same thing as last time, I remade the magic circle with a new slab, and put in 200 mp. I memorized when something was too low or too big in mp and arrived 257 mp for a magic circle with the outerest circle being 6 cm across. Now to the second part, the magic stone. At first I thought that everything would be good, the mana wouldn't explode anymore, and oh boy was I wrong.
When the mp was too much, only the mana put inside was exploded. Now all the mana in the magic stone exploded with the mana inside the magic circle, and my hideout exploded.
I was sad to say the least, but then I remembered that it was an explosion I caused. I could probably make such explosions with portable magic circles or something, that'd be good. That explosion is at the level of Erebus's entire chakra pool plus a good skill, also, no cost to myself at the moment of use if done well... I chose to look into it at a later date, let's see if I can get my enchantment fluid first.
The magic circle seemed unable to use the mana inside the magic stone since it was too large an amount for it, so, lets make a bigger version! After making the diameter 10cm and setting up the mana requirements with trail and error, this time the water exploded, after everything else worked out fine!
I guess there was too much mana for the amount of water? Luckily I have a lot of bottle sizes, so I got one with the same diameter as the inner circle which is now 5 cm. it's hight was 5 cm too, it wasn't the biggest in both ways, but it was like all of them, it was on centimeter basis. There were actually bottles at the size of 40 cm in both ways, but those weren't in use, but were made for skills.
It still exploded though, it really pissed me off. I've already been working on this for 8 hours! You think its easy too engrave a magic circle into stone slabs with a knife?! And I can't increase the size of the magic circle since I would need to increase the size by 2 cm, and that went over my mp reserves! I increased the hight of the bottles but It still wasn't big enough at the highest I could make it.

I was left with no choice, I would have to change the magic circle! I was trying to avoid this, but I had no choice. I knew from many explosions, that messing with magic without knowing anything, except a magic circle and its function, is not fun. But without evil risk, there is no evil gain.
I took this as a personal challenge to my authority and luck "You will rue the day you messed with me!" I yelled towards the heavens, in truth I was having fun. Challenges are fun to overcome, to seek beyond the known is human instinct. I like this instinct, but also dislike it. I like it since it pushes me to make and find more stuff and learn how to world works and how to use it too my advantage, I dislike it since it pushes others into looking into things they aren't 'worthy' of and getting in the way of my 'private' affairs.
I right away went into my room and started to ponder on what I could do, I could add in two runes? Both halves would have one perfectly symmetrical, they would be a mirror image having the bottom of the rune pointing at the other rune directly in the middle. I wasn't sure about the stability of the circle so I put in a small dot in the middle of the circle as a place I would put a stone in as a test.
I ran back to my new work place, where everything I need is hidden in the forest and I would try out the circles in a clearing, the clearing had become a wasteland with a lot of craters. I tried my newest testing technique, I slowly put in more and more mp until it glowed enough after using up a magic stone. It only cost one magic stone for me to test it all out, it was really an easy way to test it out too.
In the end nothing happened since there was nothing too do with the mana, since I didn't place anything to be a vessle. Though I did see a very small amount of fog in the point I made, my instincts were telling me to... Eat it? But I can't eat mist or mana, so I threw this aspect of life into the back burner for now.
Now that I knew that my modification worked well enough to concentrate mana, I made a piece of stone that was a bit smaller than the stone that was taken out to make the hole.
I tried again, and 'Bang'. But it came a bit later, I again tried but with a bottle, it also came into an explosion later than last time. I ran back into my study and drew up the next version, three runes this time! I also thought of something, I made a three sided star that went over all three of the runes and it had a perfect triangle made from it in the center of it from the three dips. Again a new point was made in the middle.
I rushed over and created the magic circle by using the chisel through the parchment to make the outlines, I just came up with it, It's too annoying to keep on trying to make a good one all the time.
I rushed over and tried again, This time in the hole I could actually look at the mana for a bit, it was chaotic and natural. It must be because I didn't use any runes to increase stability or something, and how could I even see mana? Is it something like 'The mana excites the air into creation a light blue fog', or something? My instincts again told me too eat it, no! Seriously, how do I eat fog?
But then I realized, it's asking for mana. And mana is in magic stones, if I eat a magic stone... No. Not yet at least, I need some self-control. I tried another bottle that worked the best for the space in the triangle, it took a bit longer too go 'kabloom!'. I was happy at this development, I ran back into the study and came back with parchment with a four-sided star with a square in the middle with four runes.
I recorded the improvements in my mind and ran back to the study and made another improvement making a pentagram with the pentagon that came with it, in all blades of the star there was a rune. It was so close to working! It almost stabilized and calmed down, but then the sound of a thunder clap resounded. I tried the next star and, I didn't have enough mp.
I looked up and saw the moon that had just risen, I thought to myself if I should sleep instead of burning the psyche. I remembered that I already knew most of the first year syllebus already, except for the optional courses that only a few commoners attend maybe a small noble if they're lucky. Those extra classes were something I was going to attend, they only started a month into the school year though. Since children, nobles specifically, needed to get used to not being treated as gods by everyone around them all the time.
About the madatory courses, I knew them perfectly, it was about the basics, since we're all about 7 years old. Counting, addition and subtraction, 'not swearing the moment you get angry' etiquette classes, you get the gist. I could do these easily, even when sleep deprived.
My next plan was making it 8 cm again, it exploded, but I made a ten-sided star with a decagon made of the center. It had the same problem and exploded even before I put the water inside it.
I then thought about how the sword strengthening circle worked, it had three circles, with a bunch of runes. I copied that magic circle but the runes were only the runes I took from the original thing I was testing, and it worked!
Though the moment I picked it up it started to vibrate and shining lights came out from the opening, I threw it away the moment I saw this happen. I was angry and stopped with that for a few minutes and threw a magic stone into my mouth, I just wanted to do something else to cool down.
At first nothing happened, then slowly I started to feel refreshed and rested. Then I felt pain in my entire body, I looked at my status, my mp reserves had gone 5 points above the limit I should have.
I regained my entire mana pool in a few seconds, huh. People have already aten magic stones, nothing happened. Must be from my blessing or something, meh, it seems to fix my sleeping problem.

Macabre Mim
*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.
