The boys walk out of their dorm room and I follow them out. I feel kind of out of place here because when I was in university, I didn't stay on campus.

I stayed on my own and that's part of the reason why I didn't make any friends while I was at MIT.

Everyone here looks like they get along with everyone around them and that they actually like living under the same roof as each other.

I was probably going to lock myself in my dorm room everyday if I stayed here.

"Have you been to a college party before?" Mike asks as we walk down the stairs. It's already dark out and a bunch of students are still going in and out of the dorm.

"No," I say while trying to catch up to them. They walk faster than me and they have longer strides compared to my small steps. "I was too busy studying to party," I say with full honesty.

I buried myself in my books that I didn't even think of having fun like every other student. I regret so much of the things I did when I was still in school. I could've been living life like a normal teenager instead of rushing to grow up.

We walk in silence for a few minutes until we come up to a part of the campus that's booming with loud music. What I take as a Frat house is blasting music through multiple speakers while people dance to the music both inside and around the house.

Connor wraps his arm around my waist when we walk through the door.

The house feels stuffy and it's extremely hot in here. There's way too many people in this house and I already want to leave. It's too loud for my liking and parties are not my thing to be honest.

"Hi," the girl from earlier says to the guys and they smile at her. "How have you losers been?" She asks them and they all give her their own renditions of 'I'm doing ok'.

Her eyes move to me and she smiles widely. "She's pretty, who is she?" She asks while stepping closer to me. She looks over me while licking her lips and I kind of feel shy that she's checking me out like this. "You are fucking hot," she says in a low tone.

"Yeah... step off Liyah, she's my girlfriend," Connor growls while pulling me behind his back.

Liyah looks up at Connor with a smirk before saying, "Not for long." She winks at me before walking into the crowd of dancing college students.

Connor scoffs and pulls me away from the crowd. Chris passes me a red solo cup with who knows what and I just smile at him, having zero intentions to actually drink what he just gave me.

We walk through the house and manage to get out through the back door that leads to the small backyard. There's a bunch people jumping into the pool while others are just chilling on the side.

The guys and I walk to the far side of the backyard and they sit down while I look around.

Is this what it is like to be at a college party?

I look up at the second floor of the house to see a group of boys standing at the balcony. A boy with what seems to be black hair steps forward as his friends cheer up on, patting his back too.

Everyone turns their attention to him as he jumps over the railing of the balcony and onto the roof.

"Jason!" The crowd cheers as he runs across the roof. "Jason!" They cheer even louder when he does a perfect front flip into the pool.

He comes back up with the biggest smile in his face and for some reason I smile too.

Connor comes up behind me and wraps his arm around me. "You ok?" He asks before kissing my temple and I nod.

He kisses my cheek and I smile at him, feeling like a fifteen year old girl that just got a kiss from the hottest jock in the school.

He leans in closer so our lips connect in a short kiss before he smiles against my lips.

"Connor?" My head snaps to the side at the sound of a girl's voice. "Who the fuck is this black sheep?" A blonde girts while walking closer.

I haven't even been here for a good minute and someone is already making comments about my skin?

"Excuse me?" I snarl while turning to face her. Her swimsuit is exposing everything that's supposed to be covered so I'm guessing this is the residential whore of the campus. "What did you just call me?"

"Oh, shut up blackie," she spits while shoving me to the side.

Connor's hold on me loosen but he doesn't remove his arm from my waist.

"What are you doing with another girl Connor?" She asks him with narrowed eyes.

"Leave him alone Chrissy," Booker says and I look over my shoulder to see that all the guys standing behind us.

Booker glares at this girl while folding his arms, his form becoming larger. He is the biggest one among his friends and he looks quite intimidating.

"You can't just walk up to him and disrespect his girl like that," he says, a hint of an Atlanta accent mixing into his New York accent.

"Oh shut up Booker, you just defending her because you're a black sheep like her," this Chrissy girl spits while folding her arms.

Is it normal to throw racial comments in this place?

"Don't you have a riot to start or som shit?" She grins after saying her stupid, yet offensive, statement.

"That's enough Chrissy," Mike steps in and she scoffs.

"What now? Did you join the Black Lives Matter movement too, Micheal?" She asks with a laugh. "I think you are on the wrong side of the fight," she says while shaking her head.

"What's your problem Chrissy?" Chris grits.

"No one was talking to you, you mixed freak. Be happy you are part white or I would've done something to you by now," she says with an eye roll.

"Something like what?" I pull Connor's arm away from my waist because he is clearly incapable of defending himself and his friends, not to mention me. "What you gonna do?"

"Watch it. I can get you expelled for just being black sweetheart," she laughs.

"I don't even go to this college you dumb blonde," I childishly spit at her and her eyes widen. "Unlike you, I'm smart and I'm already done with college."

"Oh, so you just some cougar that's feasting on teenage boys, have you no shame?" She tries to turn the tables but I just smile at her, which only confuses her.

"I'm actually nineteen, Chrissy," I say with a wink and she scoffs while folding her spray tan in can arms over her chest. "Don't you have someone to go sleep with right now?"

She scoffs and steps closer to me. "He's standing right behind you. Didn't he tell you about the wild sex we had last night?"

"Excuse me?"

"She's lying Nyx," Booker tries to defend his friend.

"Nyx, what type of name is that?" Chrissy laughs while looking back at her friends, who also happen to be blondes too. "You really drew the short straw of the gene pool."

My hand forms into a fist and before she can blink, I punch her in the nose. She screams at the top of her lungs and I shrug back due to how loud she's being.

"Shut the fuck up," I grit while throwing my fist towards her face. My knuckles crack against her jaw and she falls onto her back.

"The next time you want to make a racist comment, make sure the other person isn't from the hood, 'cause bitch, hood girls will fuck you up."

I kick her ribcage a few times just to be spiteful and she rolls onto her side. She balls up in fetal position and I take that as my chance to inflict more damage.

I drive my sneaker into her spine and her back arches into a 'C' shape as she screams out in agony. The guys watch on as I kick her again, red marks forming on her light skin.

"Please stop!" She begs as she tries to crawl away from me but I grab her blonde hair and pull her back.

"Nyx, I think that's enough," Chris says while trying to pull me away from Chrissy but both Mike and Booker hold him back.

"She deserves it," Mike says with a dark look. Chrissy looks up at him and starts screaming how he should be helping her because they are the same race, but he just blankly stares at her.

I drag Chrissy by her hair as she tries fighting out of my hold. I drive my knee into the side of her head and she stops fighting. She's almost unconscious but I'm not letting her off the hook so easily.

I let go of her hair and she lies on the wet grass with her eye semi open. I slap her across the face and her eyes snap open. "Look at me Chrissy," I laugh while getting down on her stomach.

I staddle her stomach and hold her chin up so she looks directly into my eyes. "I'm sorry ok," she mumbles, blood dripping from her nose and the side of her head.

"Sorry doesn't help," I mutter before letting go of her chin. I lift my fist to punch her in he nose again, but someone grabs my arm.

I look back, ready to beat whoever is stopping me from breaking her nose even further, but immediately loosen my fist when I see his dark eyes.

"Lorenzo?" He let's go of my arm and I get up from Chrissy's body. I look over at Connor who looks extremely confused, and I don't blame him because I'm just as confused. "What are you doing here?"

"My brother has been looking for you," he says. "And he has found you." He points to someone behind my head and I immediately turn around.

"Amore, what are you doing?" He asks while folding his large arms over his broad chest. "What happened?"

"She called me a black sheep," I mutter and his stormy eyes go solid with anger.

"I see..." he trails off while looking down at Chrissy. "We have to go," he says while trying to grab me but I jump back into Lorenzo.

"No."

"Excuse me?"

"You can't just show up after leaving me for three weeks and expect me to leave with you like nothing happened!"

"Really?" His dark look forms into a playful smirk. "I missed your stubbornness," he says while gently shaking his head.

Vincenzo steps forward and grabs my waist. He hoists me up and places me on his shoulder. "Put me down!" I shout but he ignores me as he starts walking away from Connor and his friends.

"Put her down!" Booker and Chris shout as they try running after me but Lorenzo pulls his gun out.

"Take another step and I will shoot you," he warns and the two boys stay still.

"But you can't take her," Mike says.

Vincenzo stops walking and turns around so he looking at Mike and I'm looking at everyone else. They are pointing at me as they whisper and gossip about me.

"Watch me," Vincenzo says before turning back around.

Oh fuck me.
