《A Dance With Hades》Twenty Three.

Vincenzo walks into the kitchen after getting up from the dinner table for the fifth time for a business call.

He kisses my forehead as a smile spreads across my face. "Amore," he whispers as he pulls away from my forehead.

"Enzo," I whisper and he smiles at me, but only for a second. I feel the eyes of his family on us as we display a bit of public affection.

We are being a bit too affectionate for people who just got together and know nothing of each other.

"You two are perfect," his mother, Aurora, coos while clasping her hands together. His father, Luca, smiles at us and nods to what his wife just said.

They are warming up to me.

His entire family – the Ricci family included – has been making me feel at home for the past hour.

Vincenzo's father is a really nice man, nothing like I expected him to be. He hasn't been talking much but he hasn't said anything to make me feel unwanted.

His wife on the other hand has been a bit too much. She's been asking me questions, attempting to find out more about me, and she's kind of making me uncomfortable.

I get she's just happy that her son has a woman but I wish she would just knock it down a few notches. I don't mind her trying to get to know me. She can just do it a bit more calmly and it doesn't have to be so rushed.

"So I see you convinced my sons to take their contacts out," Aurora says with a grin and I nod proudly.

They have such odd and unique eye colours and I'm in love with the colours. I don't understand why they would hide something so beautiful from the world.

Vincenzo's eyes carry a heavy and dark, but also calm and mesmerizing, storm. Everytime he blinks thunder strikes through his stormy grey eyes.

When his mood changes for the worst, the storm morphs into solid steel. It softens into a calm storm when he is calmer or emotionless.

Lorenzo on the other hand has dark eyes. I had to stand really close to him to notice the subtle dark purple glimmering in his eyes.

The purple colour is masked by darkness whenever he's serious but the vibrant purple comes out the moment he cracks that perfect smile of his.

"And your eyes are just as amazing as their eyes, cari," Aurora says with a wide smile and all I can do is smile.

"Dinner is ready!" Loredana announces and I internally sigh of relief. I don't know how long I was going to have to avoid speaking to Aurora.

"I'll help you dish up," I say while getting up as I try to walk over to the counter but Vincenzo grabs my wrist and pulls back a bit.

"Cari, sit back down, you are our guest," Loredana says with a wave of her hand. I stand for a second longer while looking down at the table full of Vincenzo's family.

"Sit," she says in a more stern tone and I reluctantly sit back down. She walks around the table, placing the bowls of food in the middle. She soon finishes up and sits next to her husband, Tommaso.

"Let's eat," Luca says and everyone smiles as they lean forward to grab the different bowls of food. Vincenzo stares at Riccardo with impatient eyes as he waits for him to serve himself some pasta.

I smile at them as I grab the nearest bowl to me and dump a handful of the vibrant looking salad into my plate. I put the bowl back in place and grab my fork, ready to eat, while everyone else keeps dishing up for themselves.

I pick at the salad before poking into a few of the greens and a thin tomato slice. I'm not in the mood of eating but I won't be rude and not eat Loredana and Aurora's food.

"Amore..." I turn my head to look at Vincenzo as I stick the fork into my mouth. "Is that all you are going to eat?" He asks with a puzzled look and I nod while pulling the fork out of my mouth.

"That's not enough amore," he scolds with an intense stare. "Let me dish up for you," he says while grabbing my plate.

I slap his hand away from my plate and he groans. "No, I'm fine with this," I spit as I move my plate away from his hand.

"Amore, don't be stubborn," he grits as he grabs my plate. I try to take it back but he stands up and picks his plate up too. He walks to the kitchen counter as both I and his family watch him.

Vincenzo opens a few cabinets until he finds a big bowl. He slides his food into the bowl before placing the dirty plate in the sink. He walks back to the table with the bowl and my plate of salad.

He sits down next to me and places the bowl of pasta and meatballs between us. "We'll eat together then," he says while shifting the bowl closer to me.

"Vincenzo, that's a bit–"

"I don't want to hear it," he cuts me off with a glare. All I can do ib this situation is sigh and listen to him. I don't want to fight in front of his family, and especially over something as simple as food. "Let's eat," he says with a gentle look

I poke some of the pasta, making sure to get some red sauce along with it before bringing it up to my mouth. "This is good," I mutter through my chewing, completely forgetting my manners.

"Thank you cari," Loredana chimes with a grin.

"Where is your younger brother?" Luca asks while looking at Lorenzo. He shrugs with a goofy smile which makes Luca shake his head with a chuckle escaping his lips. "He should've–"

"Papà!" My head snaps to the side at the sound of a childlike voice. A small boy comes skipping into the kitchen, a stuffed green dinosaur tucked underneath his left arm.

Lorenzo and Vincenzo smile at him as he rounds the table. The small boy jumps onto Vincenzo and my eyes widen. This little boy just called Vincenzo his papà.

Vincenzo hoists the boy up onto his lap and pets his head. They kind of look alike but their eyes aren't the same, a few of their other features differing too.

"Is this your son?" I blurt out, worried to hear the answer.

"No," he chuckles while messing up the little boy's hair.

"He is my son," Lorenzo answers with a gentle smile.

"Yep, he is my papà," the kid says while hopping off Vincenzo's lap. He stands next to Lorenzo's chair and smiles, his eyes and smile perfectly identical to Lorenzo's, even their features are the same. "See, our eyes are the same..."

"You thought he was mine?" Vincenzo whispers and I slowly nod. "I would've told you if I had a kid amore," he sighs, sounding a bit disappointed, disappointed in me.

The small boy drags a chair from one end of the table to his father's chair.

Lorenzo has a son? He is too young to have a kid – in my opinion. This boy doesn't look like toddler so he has to be older than seven years old, but he's too childlike and small to be older than thirteen.

"Where's your uncle?" Lorenzo asks as he slides his plate closer to his son.

"He's coming. He had to answer a call. I think his girlfriend is angry at him," the small boy says like it's nothing and Riccardo chuckles.

Luca and Tommaso share a look, an amused look, while their wives don't look impressed by what the little boy said.

"She started shouting into the phone and he told me to come in here to meet my new zia," the miniature version of Lorenzo explains with a grin.

He pokes the roasted baby potato in the plate with his fork and pops it into his mouth.

This child is so damn cute.

"What's your name?" I ask and he looks up at me.

"Are you my new zia?" He asks instead of answering me. A toothy smile spreads across his cute face. I look at Vincenzo for assistance on what the boy just called me.

"Zia is aunt," he whispers.

I don't want to tell this kid I'm his aunt today then disappear on him tomorrow like I never existed. He looks like a sweet boy, unlike his father, and I would love to get to know him.

"Yes, I am your new zia," I answer as I bring my eyes back to Lorenzo's son.

"Are you dating uncle Riccardo?" He questions and Vincenzo almost drops his fork.

"Why would you assume that?" He asks the small boy with a crooked, annoyed, smile.

The boy shrugs and pokes another baby potato in his plate. "If she was dating my papà then she would be my mamma. And you don't have a woman uncle Vince, you don't like one woman," the boy explains with another shrug and I can't help but smile at him. "And you haven't had a woman over in forever," the boy laughs.

This kid knows way too much about his uncle's love life.

"Well, she is my woman, my only woman," Vincenzo huffs with a prideful smile.

"Really?" The boy almost shouts out of shock and everyone erupts out in laughter. "That's unbelievable," he snickers before popping the baby potato in his mouth.

"Oh!" The small boy suddenly bursts while jumping off his chair. "My name is Marco Paolo Martinelli, what's your name?" He asks while holding his hand out to me.

This kid is so well mannered and cute. Did I mention that he is cute already? Well this kid is cute.

I take a hold of his smaller hand and smile. "My name is Nyx, Nyx Manson." He nods as we shake each other's hands.

"You are pretty," he says while staring into my eyes. "Why are you this pretty?" He asks and everyone giggles and chuckles at his words.

"I don't know," I laugh and he frowns. "But thank you for the compliment Paolo," I say and he nods, his toothy grin returning to his face.

Another person walks into the kitchen, tucking his phone away in the pocket of his jeans. "Sorry we're late, he made me stop at the pop up amusement park," the tall and very handsome boy explains as he lifts head.

His eyes are covered by sunglasses for some reason. He pulls the chair next to Riccardo back and sits down. "This child has you wrapped around his finger," Lorenzo laughs while ruffling his son's dark hair.

"He is annoying," the boy says while folding his arms.

"Am not!" Paolo shouts while folding his arms and sticking out his bottom lip.

He's so fucking cute!

Let's steal him.

That's crazy.

I know, but let's do it.

No.

You are unfair!
