《Celestial Journey》167] - [Transcend! Beyond the limits! Roar of the Fallen!]

'I still remember vividly.'
'Playing around inside courtyards of elegance.'
'Served by incredible masters from all over the continent.'
'Revered by nearly all beings of the Great World.'
'Adored by my parents. Spoiled by my grandfather.'
'Grandpa... I still cherish our memories you know? When you cried because grandma died. When you played with me outside. When you gave up your title and elevated my own.'
'I still remember when you granted me the title of saint. Void Family's saint. Becoming the future heir.'
'Ah~'
'How fondly do I remember you passing down [Void Temple] to me. I was charged with the mission of protecting the Void Family as the new patriarch.'
'I studied diligently. I never slacked off. Always keeping my promise.'
'I will protect the Void Family.'
So why?
'So why?'
'I, unluckily, got trapped in Limbo's formation. My fault really. Never expected the Greater Primordial Deity to try his luck one more time when I visited the Half-Supreme Continent...'
Why is it like this?
'Why is it like this?'
'But, grandpa.'
'Little me has a question for you. I'm sure you cannot answer, but I still hope for you to manage this feat.'
'Why is the tip of my nose touching the back of my head?'
Why?!
'Why?!'
SO WHY?!!
'SO WHY?!!'
'WHY AM I DYING?!!!'
Giving up on consciousness, Olghun's mangled body drifted in the air, as if in space, Alexander's aura alone keeping gravity at a standstill.
His formerly bulging muscles, as if they belonged to a monster, now torn apart. His face punched through in a single blow.
Alexander left indifferent to this feat.
He felt so powerful. Invincible almost.
If he could crush a Cave Master as such, then what about the Realms? According to Olghun's words during their fight, the so called Eleutherian Realm might be hailed even outside Limbo.
Was he already capable, if willing to sacrifice everything, to destroy even the Realms?
Maybe... just maybe...
Would his current state be enough to challenge the Greater Primordial Deity when at his prime?
Alexander was not sure... he could not know for sure. The Greater Primordial Deity when his clone was possessed... the memories he obtained at that time...
He better understood this strength now.
Thinking deeply about it, he realized that it was highly unlikely. The Greater Primordial Deity's body emanated unmatched might. A power so strong, even his current state did not give much insight into it. However, he still felt much closer to it now.
As right now, his cracked body was giving off a pressure incomparable. Even a Cave Master was butchered without the ability to fight back.
Peak first stage of the Dream Dominion Realm...
Just [Wrath State] alone would have granted him victory. Just the breakthrough was enough. But he was a greedy man.
Compared to [Wrath State], his strength was not multiplied by a flat ten. No.
He could tell.
Right now, his prowess was already elevated beyond that.

Twenty times the power!!
From six and half million to a hundred and thirty million! But he did not have much time left!
His body slowly turning to dust!
His soul drained from its glory, on the verge of dissipating!
His mind torn between life and death!
His existence itself withered away!
He had no choice...
A portal opening behind him, he gently threw something into it. Nobody could tell what it was, their Celestial Senses too bothered with survival.
And without noticing it, a strange hand of silver came out of an invisible portal. Its gentle motion, invisible to even Alexander himself, scraped a portion of him before tossing it with what he threw away. The hand then retreated, the portal closing along Alexander's.
As for the destination...
Azvon looked blankly at a portal in front of him. It was small, with a clear Celestial Sense covering every part of it, sealing this part of the world in a bubble.
At his collapsed knees and exhausted body, Azvon slowly reached below. He grabbed something very peculiar.
'He is...'
A face left in shock, he gazed back up, where Alexander looked on toward the saints.
Gulping audibly, the saints shook.
"Now, about you all..."
A pair of eyes falling on them. A gentle wave of the hand...
And as if listening to his every word, every order... reality bowed.
A pillar of pink suppressed the entire world, shaking the entirety of Limbo. Turbulent clouds of energies forming vortexes everywhere. Roars of intoxication resonating within the frail minds of all. An intangible force hugging his creation, the will of the world.
All that they could hear were simple yet dreadful words.
"[Dream"
Reflected in their wide terrified eyes was a giant palm print of pink energies falling from the high sky, collapsing the vast clouds.
"Palm]!"
Unstoppable, the pressure from its aura alone sunk the knees of all saints even further down the abyss. Their heads forced to hang lower than ever in their entire lives, a strange haze dispersing their opinions.
Underserving of facing the Overlord so close to them, an entity they should be ashamed of laying their eyes upon.
Letting some of them flee, Alexander saw the Saint of Death, Saintess of Fire and Saintess of the Undead be crushed under this new pink sky of a palm.
The aftermath was expected, the entire world down to the horizon turned upside down. The fleeing saints gritting their teeth in pain, shockwaves and remnant energies assaulting them from all around.
Casually flicking his wrist, Alexander forced the world to listen. A strange gust separating the remaining saints mid-air. As if forming a ridge between them.
Looking at the group on the left, he grasped the air.
A vortex of faint lights birthed, it engulfed the entire group.
Saint of Light, Saintess of Doom, Saintess of Life...
Dead.
Glaring at the three escapists, he smiled. His wrist turning, two fingers pointed downward.
Looking up, the three shivered. Two fingers a mixture of pink, purple and pale blue falling down. Ethereal judgments from the Pantheon.

"Don't worry, one of you will live... but which one, I wonder?" The giant fingers enveloped in chaotic clouds of light separating, they drifted on each side.
Realizing the outcome, Lu Shu's eye twitched while Ysh Zul and Ahrgan Furol turned ashen.
Frozen in place by the pressure alone, they collided.
Sent to the underworld, in both senses, Alexander returned his gaze to the protagonist of this endeavor.
"You see, Lu Shu. I said I would let you live... but that was obviously not completely true. I just need something from you."
'If I'm about to die, then I might as well go out with a bang! For that... I just need his little soul.'
Closing in, Lu Shu did not even see how it happened. Alexander slapping his left cheek off his face, blood splashing everywhere. Taking his nimble fingers, Alexander plunged them into the open hole in the cheek, grabbing his tongue.
Pulling it, it tore without resistance. Putting them back in, Alexander formed a small dark blue ball of goo. It contained a profound aura.
"[Dao Blast]."
Tearing it apart as well, the goo blinded Lu Shu's mouth with white. The escaping light caused said man to shiver in worry.
Wincing, he opened his eyes, his Celestial Sense watching his missing face and mandible.
'What is goin-' A fist smashing into his Dantian, Lu Shu trembled, spasming all around. He could feel his lifespan fading away, his life wheel obviously fused with the now crushed Dantian.
Not even understanding what was happening, his soul shivered, a soul fluctuation targeting him. Still dazed from the lightning speed torture, he could not put sufficient defenses in place at the right time, his soul receiving glaring wounds.
"Good enough." Grabbing Lu Shu by the skull, Alexander's right hand glowed an eerie purple.
"Don't mind me." A soul searching technique disturbing the peace of the Void Saint, he turned limp.
As for Alexander, he only nodded.
'Even with all of this he could interfere with it... but I got what I was here for...' Throwing the dead saint away, Alexander's vision pierced the fabric of reality. He could clearly see his target...
...the Saint Hall!
Even without the saints within any longer, the Saint Hall was still extremely alluring to his current dying state. After all, was he not planning to die while basking in glory?
Turning into a beam of light, Alexander reached the Saint Hall's short yet very wide structure through a portal in mere seconds. Smashing into its middle portion, he directly arrived on top of a now broken round table. A small artifact giving off light rolling next to him.
Stepping down, he placed a foot under the remaining part of the table. Doing the same he did with Lu Olghun, the table was sent flying, uprooted through sheer brutality.
Left behind was a thin hole. And without hesitation, Alexander jumped down.
.
.
.
After some barebone cave exploration, Alexander arrived in front of a beautifully crafted cobalt gate. It was quite small with some intricate engravings and design choices.
Without wasting any more time, he kicked it open, tearing the doors from the hinges. In front of him now laid a bead of pale blue light as if the wind of the sky was contained within. Touching it, he was suddenly teleported.
.
.
.
Recovering his senses, Alexander was left alone under a vibrant sky. The Heavens were strange, faded colors of blue in the middle, dusk and dawn colors all around.
Far into the horizon, all around the world, a strange darkness splattered with small stars. It was like this sealed world was a continent in the middle of the void, a ceiling of skies still there to shield them.
He was surrounded by a group of sages guarding a pedestal he stood on, large lime green mountains everywhere in sight.
"Good enough?" His words esoteric to the guards, Alexander felt his body crumble.
His acupoints turning into black holes, the energies of the entire world were pulled.
The entire Sealed Gate's world was being dragged!
The energies of an entire world devoured!
And obvious to all, this was not meant as a mean of survival.
It was a mean of destruction!
"What is-" Petrified by the shocking aura, the guards fell on their knees.
"Ha~" Sighing heavily, Alexander enjoyed the scenery.
But not for long.
Skies turning pink, clouds of dust and earth formed tornadoes, vortexes and explosions all around. Pure chaos.
His body then began to bloat.
Kicking the ground, forming a continent wide crater, he rushed ahead!
His body already looking on the verge of exploding!
The amount of energy he obtained alone kept pushing his power higher!
"Transcendent glory!!" His acupoints growing, his liquid meridians became visible from outside, like another set of veins. His strength could not stop rising!
His aura could not stop surging!
His determination unable to stop erupting!
Twenty times!
Thirty!
Forty!
Fifty!
A hundred!!
"DIE!!!"
And with a bang, the world was illuminated in pink.
Mountains vaporized. Ripples of the earth higher than divine pagodas travelling like gods birthing mayhem.
Sages reduced to mere particles. Blown to smithereens.
Without understanding what had happened, the Cave Masters felt tremors from across the Sealed Gate.
An enormous dome of pink higher than the Heavens could only be seen expanding in all directions. A bright light turning night into day. The blast of the explosion in full glory.
Anyone near turning from sages to skeletons to then nothing.
The sky begged and the earth split open.
Unfortunately too close for comfort, an old withering man adorning a bright halo above his head cried. Hundreds of trillions of years of cultivation...
Just for a random pink energy to be attacking. Currently eating him. His frail body protected by a peak Eleutherian Realm cultivation base rendered futile.
A detonation to be recorded in history.
The day when a random explosion turned the Sealed Gate into a wasteland.
The day another Cave Master died!
And so in his own territory!

How the Stars Turned Red
Announcement as of 05 July 2022: I've been diagnosed with some pretty severe nerve damage in my left arm, rendering me unable to write effectively, and as such this story is on hold until it is healed. I am so sorry, and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. In the latter half of the 3rd millennium CE, humanity has spread across the stars, inhabiting close to five-hundred worlds across the Orion Arm. Earth has become irrelevant, a historical has-been. The galactic map is dominated by two mega-factions, both controlling vast amounts of territories either through direct control or through their many allies and treaty signatories. The Kingdom of Aurora is the political and economic hegemon despite consisting of only seven inhabited worlds; their strength lies in the Royal Union, an interstellar commonwealth composing an internal market and a common defence pact. These member worlds are myriad and varied, culturally as well as politically, but they all flock to the same banner. The Independent Systems Alliance, spearheaded by the Republic of Elysium, is the ascendant challenger to Aurora and the Union. A pseudo-federal multi-system polity, the Alliance economy and military is rapidly expanding, but at the cost of effective democratic and meritocratic involvement by its people. However, with two superpowers as this, chafing along a common border, and with a constant clamour of polemics, both sides have become convinced the other is constantly preparing for war and are on the look-out for any perceived weakness in their opponent. The predictable result is a huge arms race and a cold war spreading across the stars, requiring only a spark to set the galaxy aflame. Drawn into this game of high stakes are ordinary men and women, their peaceful lives, hopes, and aspirations swallowed by the vortex of conflict and distrust. This is their story. Cover art by Rhodex Designs (FB). Hope you like long chapters and adjectives. Note: English is not my first language. Another story set in the same universe, written by a good friend
