"Dollface," the voice whispered softly. I pulled my head back quickly, detaching my lips from Kaleb's, yet when I gazed down at him it wasn't Kaleb, it was Mason. He was staring up at me with those big brown eyes, that all too familiar smirk on his face as he caressed my cheek softly, our gaze never breaking.

My heart began to thump in my chest harshly as his grip tightened around my waist, dragging me even closer to him. He pressed his lips against my neck and I moaned softly as my hands caressed his chest, "Mason."

And then I took a whiff of the cologne rather close to my nose due to the proximity between us and realized that this wasn't his. . .he doesn't smell like this.

This wasn't Mason.

"Kaleb. . ." I mumbled softly, cringing as he sunk his teeth into my skin. I pressed my hand against his chest and pushed him back. He slammed against the leather seats of the limo and peered up at me in confusion, "what's wrong, cupcake?"

"I-I can't do this, what the fuck am I doing!?" I exclaimed as I climbed off of him, suddenly feeling self-conscious. I turned towards Kaleb to see him fixing his dishevelled hair. He sighed deeply and flickered his eyes towards me.

For some odd reason, he didn't seem upset like I thought he would. He was calm. . .too calm. "That was smart, sweetheart. But the moment you put your lips on mine you screwed up. It's a little too late now, you shouldn't have kissed me." He said as he peered out the window, a smirk plastered on his lips.

"W-what the hell are you going on about!? You kissed me first I just-"

"You kissed back, I was just testing you. To see if you could have just some self-control but you don't, do you, cupcake?" He spat as he shook his head in disbelief. Before I could reply the door at my right suddenly flung open and someone I didn't recognize appeared before me.

He was tall and broad, his arms and neck were littered with tattoos and from one look at him, you could tell he came from the bad part of town. "K-Kaleb what the hell is going on!?" I cried out. The guy flashed me a toothy smile, and by toothy, I meant with the only teeth left in his mouth that probably didn't fall out from shooting meth up his system daily.

"I had faith in you baby," I flinched when I felt his warm breath on my neck, his finger trailed just beneath my ear and I flickered my eyes shut as tears began to prick at them, "but you were too weak, too gullible. How will you succeed if you keep coming back to guys like me? I'm so sorry, cupcake. I love you, I really do. But I love myself more."

Before I could utter a word something sharp was suddenly inserted into my neck and I jutted away from him, my eyes wide in shock. "What the-"

I could feel my mouth moving but I could no longer hear the words leaving my lips. My tongue suddenly felt heavy, preventing me from forming a sentence, not that I could hear it anyways. And then I lost control over my movements as my limbs grew heavier and heavier as if there was no gravity around me.

I could feel my eyes drooping lowly, my eyelids too heavy to keep up and I slumped against the seat, the only thing visual to me was the blurry face hovering over mine, what seemed to be a frown plastered on their lips.

They leaned down and something warm was pressed against my cheek and then his face appeared in my vision again before I was fully consumed in darkness.

"Hmm, do you like that?" She whispered into my ear. I didn't reply but instead rose the can of beer to my lips and took a swig. Sweetooth pulled away from me, a frown plastered on her lips as she tightened her grip on my shirt. "Come on, Mason! I want some action."

"Yeah Mason! She wants some action!" Liam exclaimed, a cackle escaping his lips as he rose his can of beer upwards as if he were hailing me. I flipped him off and turned my attention back to her. I was tempted to push her off of me but I don't put my hands on women, not ever.

Unless they give me a dire reason too, like try to kill me. But that's beside the point.

"I'm not in the mood for action, sweet. I don't even know why you're here, I don't need some sweet loving as you call it. Go ahead, Liam needs it more than me since he's having a hard time getting laid," I exclaimed, motioning towards Liam who in return flipped me off.

"You know who's gonna give me some action? Michelle White."

I paused and slowly turned my gaze towards him. The room fell into silence and Kaden rummaged his hands through his hair and muttered something under his breath frantically. The other guys in the room flickered their eyes towards me then Liam, realizing that the tension was beginning to rise.

"Knock, knock, knocking on heavens door," Kaden sing sang as he lowered himself down onto one of the lazy boys, a cackle escaping his lips. "Get off me sweet," I said softly. She sighed deeply and climbed off of me, muttering how much of a bore I was.

"Dude don't take it personally aight! I just saw her in the hallways at school today and let me tell you that new hairdo and uniform haven't looked better on her. If you're not hitting that then I mean you can't call dibs on something that's not yours."

"Oh-kay, Liam, you're drunk and clearly some way or the other you want to see your death tonight and I don't know what the motivation is, I suggest you shut the fuck up before Mason rips your tongue out of your mouth," Kaden exclaimed as he flickered his concerned gaze towards me then Liam who shook his head frantically.

"Nah man just saying, she ain't his chick I'm gonna fuck her if I have the cha-" I didn't let him finish his sentence and flew across the room in a second, my fist balled up tightly, ready to pound into his face.

However, I didn't get to strike him in the jaw because Kaden was already at my side, pulling me back roughly in fear that I really was gonna kill someone tonight. "You say her name in your mouth again and I'll make you die a painful death, Liam."

I brushed Kaden away and stormed out of the basement and up the stairs. I didn't want to stay in that room because I feared that I would lose my shit and pummel his face into the ground. I'll probably have a murder charge on my hands by tomorrow so I needed to cool off.

As I made my way upstairs my phone began to ring. I peered down at it in my hand, confused, seeing as I changed my number and never gave it to anyone, not even Kaden.

It was an unknown number and I contemplated whether or not to answer it but came to the conclusion that there isn't any harm in answering. I pressed the phone against my ear and before I could speak his voice boomed down the line, sending a pit of rage down my spine.

"Eeny, meeny, miny, mo, I caught Michelle by her toe, if she hollers I won't let her go, eeny, meeny, miny, mo."

"You're awake," the voice boomed as my eyes flickered open. I hissed in pain as the bright luminescent lights hanging above my head shown directly into my eyes. The room was dark, only lit by that very same bulb and I tried to move but realized that I was bound to this chair.

My arms were tied behind my back, preventing me from moving and I began to struggle as my eyes stung with tears, "Kaleb, Kaleb what the hell are you doing!?" Something scraped against the floor, followed by heavy footsteps and when I peered up Kaleb towered over me, a cup in his hand.

"You must be thirsty, that shot dehydrates you," he said as he lowered himself down before me. He didn't lie, my mouth was parched, begging for water. Maybe if I cooperate he'll let me go. He brought the cup to my lips and I took a huge gulp until the cup was empty.

"You irritate me, Michelle." He sighed as he pulled the cup back. He stared up at me, his head shaking in disbelief, "you just have to have the bad guys do you, you just have to have Mason." He mumbled before he pushed himself off the floor and sauntered away.

"K-Kaleb please let me go, please. I-I don't know what it is that I've done. . .I-If you're worried about Mason then you shouldn't because h-he broke up with me. Just- I don't- why are you doing this?" I cried out, searching for him in the dimly lit room through my blurry vision.

"I made Mason break up with you darling, actually no, my boss made Mason break up with you, I just passed on the message. It was that or my death and ultimately yours. But now-now you had a chance to move on but instead, you got into that limo. I thought you were smarter than this cupcake."

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?"

"IT WAS A TEST! A test Michelle, to see what you would have done now that you are free from Mason and I! But you know what you did? You failed it, you keep coming back and eventually, you'll wind up dead because you can't handle normality!"

"Why the hell are you concerned whether or not I'm normal! Why are you concerned about what type of guys I date!?"

He strode towards me quickly and I jutted my head back when he lowered his face down before mine, his eyes dark and cold- any trace of the Kaleb I knew was gone, buried beneath this dark essence that took control of his body.

Why couldn't I just listen to myself when I said it was a bad idea to get into that limo? I was too consumed in anger, anger against Mason to realize that that wasn't the best of decisions. Now, look at where I am, bound to this chair with my crazy ex-boyfriend who'll possibly kill me.

"Believe it or not, I want what's best for you because I love you."

I glared at him, directly into his eyes so that he could see I didn't believe a word he said. All the anger that I had built up suddenly boiled to the surface, threatening to spill out of me, but there wasn't much I could do restrained so I opted to spit in his face, smirking at the disbelieved expression that flickered across his face.

"You don't love me you bastard, no one who loves me would drug me and bound me to a fucking chair in a dark room against my will. That's not love, it's an obsession and you my friend are obsessed."

He chuckled lowly and wiped away the spit on his face with his sleeve. When he lowered his hands down I couldn't help but flinch at the chilling smirk that was plastered onto his face. It was the epitome of dark, darker than anything I've seen before.

Not even Mason's deadliest glares were darker than this, and at that moment I knew that this wasn't all fun and games. Especially when two men appeared behind him, one wielding a wooden bat and the other metal brass knuckles.

"You see, baby. I do love you but there's a fine line between loving someone and being in love with someone. And my friend-" he started, mocking me with that chilling smirk, "-I am not in love with you."

And then something strikes me across my cheek and it took a second for me to register in my mind what was happening until there was a burning sensation across my face, followed by another and another.

I couldn't hear my screams, but I knew I was screaming by the way my mouth moved, I knew I was crying by the tears that trailed down my cheek and I knew I was bloodied down by the blood that splattered around me, my own blood.

And then it suddenly stopped, as if they were robots controlled by a remote. They stopped hitting me, but at this point, I didn't care because I felt numb all over; numb in my heart, in my body, my head. But nothing- not even the beat down I experienced seconds ago pained more than the person who walked into the room, their eyes immediately finding mine.

I thought betrayal was when Kaleb supposedly killed my sister and ran away, I thought betrayal was when Mason dated Kayla, knowing our history, I thought betrayal was when I found out that Mason was the brother of the guy who ruined my life.

But no, none of that was betrayal compared to this.

This wasn't just any betrayal.

This was cold blooded betrayal.
