I peeled my eyes open, groaning softly at the stinging sensation that spread through my eyes as sunlight peaked through the window beside the bed. My eyes zoned in on the sleeping figure beside me and I smiled at the sight of Michelle laying beside me, sleeping soundly.
If someone had told me a few months ago, I'd get to wake up beside Michelle White and call her my girlfriend or in this case my future wife, I wouldn't believe them. I would have told them that Mason Hunter does not fall in love, not with anyone but himself.
But I did, I learnt to love and there is no one who could take that away from me. Not even Kaleb.
I trailed my hand over her shoulder until it reached the palm of her hand and then I rose it to my lips and pressed a kiss against it, watching silently as she stirred. I dragged myself closer towards her, closing the gap between us and pressed my lips against hers in a soft kiss.
When she didn't wake up I kissed her again and again until she finally began to groan softly, her hand tightening in my palm. When I kissed her one last time she kissed back and I chuckled softly, smiling when her eyes flickered open and they interlocked with mine.
"Good morning," she returned my smile and caressed my cheek softly, "good morning, Mason." Silence enveloped us for a second and before I could say anything else she rose up from the bed and swung her legs off of it. "Where are you going?" I inquired and she yawned loudly as she slipped off the bed and sauntered into the washroom.
"I'm getting ready to leave."
"Dollface you literally just woke up!"
"Vacation waits for no man!" She exclaimed loudly as she sauntered into the washroom. "Mind if I join?" I smirked as I rolled off the bed and trekked in after her. She stood in front of the mirror, her eyes fixated on the red marks that decorated her neck and chest.
She glared at me and motioned towards it, "how am I supposed to wear a bikini when I have this all over me!?" I wrapped my hand around her waist and lowered my head down onto her shoulder as I looked at her through the mirror, a mischievous smile playing on my lips.
"It'll fade out, dollface. Stop worrying," I whispered as I pressed my lips against her neck. She moaned softly and slapped my hand away so that it fell against her side but I brought it back up to her waist and tightened my grip around her so that she couldn't escape.
"Let's leave this house on a good note, baby," I muttered into her ear and she giggled as I captured her ear lobe in between my teeth, no doubt tickling her in the process. She groaned in frustration and pivoted on her heels, "okay then Mr. Hunter, your wish is my command."

"Help me you asshole, you have muscles for a goddamn reason not to flaunt them!" Michelle exclaimed loudly as she struggled to drag the luggage to the jeep.
"Michelle it's called trying."
She halted in her footsteps and suddenly let it out of her grip so that it went flying onto the ground. She snapped her head towards me and smirked, "it's your shit anyways." She cackled mischievously and sauntered towards the jeep, never turning back to look at me.

I rushed towards the suitcase and hiked it up to my side swiftly, sending daggers at Michelle who unlocked the jeep and slipped inside, that mischievous look still playing on her face. I shoved the suitcase into the trunk and slammed it shut.
When I made it to the front seat and buckled myself in, she turned towards me, a sheepish smile on her lips. "That was mine, not yours. God, you're so gullible." She exclaimed triumphantly and when I stared into her eyes blankly she pursed her lips in a thin line and giggled nervously, "w-what?"
"I knew it was yours, dollface. I only packed what I needed for the weekend, you packed a month's worth of clothes, I can tell the difference, you played yourself." I winked as I pulled out of the driveway and raced down the streets towards Sasha's house.
"Damn you, Hunter."
"You love me," I sing sang and she rolled her eyes as she sunk into the seat, "unfortunately," she muttered under her breath and I flashed her a glare to which she responded with a tight-lipped smile, her eyes still rolling to the point where I feared it would be stuck gazing up into her head.
When I pulled into Sasha's driveway, both her and Kaden sauntered towards the jeep, a single duffle bag in their hands and I turned towards Michelle, "see this is how you pack for a weekend."
"Oh shut up, smartass." She exclaimed and I smiled as I flicked her nose, ignoring the way she swatted my hand away. Kaden and Sasha slipped into the backseat and we greeted them, well Sasha and Michelle squealed their lungs out and Kaden simply nodded his head towards me in acknowledgement.
Halfway through the ride towards our destination, Kaden popped his head in between Michelle and I, "I wanna play a little game, it's called tell us the story of the time you lost your virginity." Michelle suddenly fell into a coughing fit and Sasha flashed her a knowing look, a silent message passing through them both.
I flickered my eyes towards Kaden and he arched his brows, a silent conversation passing through us as well. Kaden smirked and averted his eyes from me and let them settle on Michelle who just came down from her fit, her face beetroot red.
"Michelle, tell us about your first time, come on now." Kaden poked and she shook her head vigorously. "Come on dollface, wasn't Kaleb your first time? I mean it would be weird to know about that but it makes sense, right?"
The car fell into silence and I watched through the rearview mirror as Sasha's mouth fell open and her eyes widened. "No way, he wasn't your firs- oh my god, Michelle!"
"What, what, what, We wanna know! Don't we wanna know, Mason?!" Kaden exclaimed loudly and I nodded my head slowly, my lips pursed in a thin line as I flashed Michelle a look, "I'd love to know." She groaned deeply and lowered her head down onto the dashboard.
"Olsen, my first time was with a guy names Olsen and it was horrible."
So I'm not the second guy she's been with? I'm the third!?
I mean it wasn't that big a deal but I saw things differently when it came to her. I thought she had only been with Kaleb and now she's been with two other guys? And despite them being in her past why do I still feel jealous?

"Oh my god! You didn't! You. did. not! You guys dated like three years ago and you never freaking told me!? Sasha squealed and Michelle rose her head from the dashboard, an annoyed expression etched on her face.
"Who was Olsen?" I asked calmly and though my voice said one thing my hands said another as they gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Her first boyfriend! They dated in 10th grade for like six months and then the following year she got with Kaleb, well Kaleb more so stole her from Olsen who then moved away a month later so it really didn't matter."
Michelle blushed deeply and covered her face in her hands, another round of groans escaping her lips. "I wanna know more," Kaden whispered and I shook my head as I turned on the radio, "let's not push it, Kaden."

I slipped out of the car and slammed it shut behind me as I peered up at the house that stool tall, hovering over our heads. It was Michelle's family vacationing home here in New Jersey. We could have stayed in Washington but Michelle thought it would have been fun to take a road trip and scope around the place.
The cottage was small but wide, and even from where we stood I could tell that it was built with pinewood seeing as I took a lot of construction classes back in my old school. Grey stones made up a variety of the wall and long glassed windows showcased a bit of the interior of the cottage from the outside which already gave me a homely vibe.
We retrieved our bags from the trunk and trekked up the stony path leading to the top of the cottage seeing as it sat on pillars. When we made it to the top I peered down from the balcony and on the other side of the house sat a wide infinity pool overlooking the grassy fields below us.
Michelle unlocked the door and stepped inside, a smile on her lips at the stunned expression on our faces as we sauntered in behind her.
From the outside, this place appeared small but the inside was grand yet cozy. The first thing that caught my sight was the family photos perched up on the wooden walls that lined up the foyer leading into the main room of the house. They were pictures of Michelle and who I'm assuming is her deceased sister because the resemblance between the two is uncanny.
She had other photos of them here, on the beach, on the streets, just normal family stuff. A family I once wished I had.
She led us into the family room where a piano was sat on the right of the mahogany sofas that faced the stoned fireplace. Light streaked into the room from the window that took over what should have been a wall. It overlooked the pool beneath us and I pressed my hand against it, chuckling in awe.
"Like what you guys see?" Michelle inquired and Kaden snapped his head towards her, "like? This house is amazing, so far. . .where are the rooms?" He smirked and she rolled her eyes as she motioned towards the foyer.
We made our way towards the end of the hall and climbed up the wooden stairs that led us to another hallway. There were five doors leading into separate rooms and I wondered to myself why such a small place needed all these rooms but remembered that these were the White's, they were extra.
"Take any room you guys would like, just not my parents, please."
With that she pivoted on her heels and made her way into another room, motioning for me to follow. As I stepped inside, the first thing I noticed was the window, much like downstairs there wasn't a wall where it should be and it overlooked the trees beneath us, giving me an eerie yet calm feeling.
I could tell that the colour theme for here was all red; the duvet covering the bed, the closet that sat beside the white dresser. The red drapes on either side of the window and the red paintings that lined up the wall. Beside the bed was a frame, covered with a white cloth and Michelle picked it up and placed it on the dresser.
"This was my sister's room." She mumbled and I frowned deeply as I stared back at her in confusion. "Why not yours?"
"I don't know, I get a sense of calmness when I'm around her stuff, well not really her stuff because we never really left anything here but I sometimes still feel her presence."
"Babe we cant have sex in the dead's room!"
She snapped her head towards me as I lowered myself down beside her on the bed, "Is that all you care about?" She whispered playfully and I pressed my hand against her chest and lowered her down onto the bed. "Not really, but right now, yes."
She giggled as I lowered my face down onto hers and attached our lips in a deep kiss. Her arms slid around my neck and she pressed herself into me as her fingers raked through my hair and her legs wrapped around my waist.
I pulled away from her lips and trailed kisses against her jawline and to her neck. I ignored the way she squirmed beneath me and captured her skin against my lips, biting down onto it and smirking when she moaned softly.
"I'm just going to act like the past few traumatizing seconds I've ever had in my entire life didn't just happen and I'll close this door!"
We both paused and Michelle suddenly burst into a fit of laughter, her hands pressing against my chest to push me off her. I grabbed a pillow beside me and flung it after Kaden who stood in the doorway sheepishly. The pillow collided with his head and I smirked as I flopped back down onto the bed.
"That's for cockblocking, asshole."
"Hey, I can make it even and go do my thing right now. . .we were planning to do it everywhere." He winked and Michelle's eyes widened in horror as she crawled her way off the bed, a murderous glare on her face, "I swear to god Kaden if you leave your ass print on anything valuable in this house it's gonna be you and me!"
"Does the kitchen counter count? We kinda already d-" Before he could finish his sentence an animalistic growl escaped Michelle's lips and I watched in amusement as she flung herself onto Kaden who cried in horror, his arms outstretched towards me, pleading with me to help him.
I smirked and flipped him off, chuckling softly under my breath.

8 142The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
