"What are you staring at?" Brittni asks, starting to get annoyed. "Oh wait. Shouldn't I say, who?"

I roll my eyes. "I'm not looking at anyone."

Lies!

I can't help it, though, Colten always is making suggestive faces towards me and I'd be lying if they didn't get me all messed up.

I end up having to remind myself that we are in school, and I know that he will never take me here. Or would he?

"Whatever," she says sassily, biting into her sandwich.

"Anyways," I drawl out. "How did yesterday go? What's happening with Jackson and you?"

She sighs, setting down her lunch. "We're going to try long distance. I don't really know how well it'll work out, but I'm willing to try. I just know that if he cheats, I'm done."

"Good for you," I nod. "I know I could never do that."

"Why?" She questions absentmindedly.

"Because," I sigh. "They always say they'll come back, but never do. It's better to just end it there."

She nods, thinking of a second. "So your telling me, that if Colten got expected into university out of state, you wouldn't do long distance?"

"Exactly," I tell her. "I don't think I could bare it. But enough about that, because it won't be happening. Colten already decided on going to college here in Michigan."

"Okay," she mumbles, looking back down at her food that she picks at more than eats.

The truth is, if Colten had ended up being excepted into a university out of state, I wouldn't be able to do it. I love him with all my heart, but everyone I've ever known leaves and never comes back. I won't set myself up for that feeling.

It happened with my parents, his mom and now my brother. If Colten was added into the mix, I don't think I could handle it. There wouldn't be a relationship there, I can't keep up with face timing and such as a way of seeing him. I'll never know who he's partying with or really what he's up to. I have enough self respect to set myself up for that.

My eyes dart to Colten as if reading his mind. He's already staring at me, his eyes burning a whole into my face. God I want him. If I can make it to tonight, I'll be a happy girl.

There's a party tonight to celebrate the end of the year for seniors and Colten so graciously asked me to attend with him. I didn't mind since I won't be doing anything better. It should be fun, I'll be able to see Dustin before graduation and see how he's doing.

After the whole me giving back his gift and getting it back, we haven't talked much. I think he realized that Colten probably wouldn't be too happy about us talking, so he's backed off. That doesn't mean I don't miss him, though. I miss our talks and us laughing. I learned to cope with it, but that'll never change the fact that he was an amazing friend that I wish I still had.

I look away from the sex God across the cafeteria before I lose all my values and take him to an empty closet.

Dammit, I should be classier than that.

I look down in my bag checking to see if I have everything for the weekend before walking out towards my car.

I really have to get started on the review packets that I have or else I'll be packing it all in the day before each exam. I've done that before and it didn't end well. Stayed up until three in the morning and then woke up an hour later to study some more. Couldn't have been healthy, especially with the hundreds of black coffee I drank. It was worse that I didn't even like plain coffee.

I unlock the doors to my car and push all my bags and textbooks into the passenger seat before walking to the driver side. As I'm about to start the car, I notice an envelope taped to the wheel.

Nikki,

Don't ask questions,It's where we went after our date to the movies.

Colten.

What the hell? Is this some type of scavenger hunt? Feeling excited, I put my car in drive and start heading towards the restaurant we went to the day after getting back together.

I leave my car running as I jog into the building, the hostess smiling at me.

"Are you Nikki Long?" She asks and I nod. "Then this is for you."

"Thank you," I grin and grab the envelope that is identical to the one in my car and read it as I walk back outside.

Nikki,

It's where we used to go to get ice cream as a kid.

Colten.

I smile to myself, finding my foot already on the gas pedal and heading in the direction of Ritter's.

This place was one of our favorite ice cream parlor's as kids. We would non-stop beg our parents for money to go and get the same ice scream from the store. It was always the Fudge Brownie Sundae that has my mouth watering already.

Yet again, the man at the cash register hands me a card and smiles in a manner that has me smiling back. He knows something, so if he's smiling, than it should be good.

Nikki,

Despite your stubborn tendencies and impatience, you've made it this far. Treat yourself to our favorite sundae and then head on over to where we shared our first kiss ;)

Colten.

I do as he says, already planning on getting the ice cream if he hadn't said it. I eat and drive which seems to be harder than people make it look. I end up dripping hot fudge on to my bare cleavage making a curse fall from my lips. That shits hot.

When I finally make it back to my house, I'm a nervous wreck. Even the delicious soft serve couldn't shake the feeling of anxiousness.

"Hello?" I call out, but no one is home. Instead, I walk towards the back door where the actual first kiss scene took place, and when I do, I gasp. Tears spring to my eyes almost immediately and my insides turn to mush.

On the wooden play structure, in spray paint, it reads: Nikki Jane Long, would you do me the extraordinary honor of being my date to prom?

I turn around at the same time I finish reading and see Colten standing with a huge bouquet of red and white roses, a box of chocolate in his other hand. Always chocolate.

"What do you say?" He smirks. "Will you be my beautiful date to prom this upcoming Friday?"

I sniffle, smiling like I've turned into the joker.

"Yes," I laugh, Colten grinning as he steps forward, handing me my presents of endearment.

"Thank fuck," he blows out a breath. "My hands were fucking sweating."

I laugh again, smelling the roses that have made my day that much more bright. This is so sweet. I had no idea that Colten would he asking me to prom. Most guys don't really want to go but do anyway because our their girlfriend. I'm only a sophomore and Colten is taking me to his prom.

"I love you," I gush, pecking his lips just as a group of people make their way outside. I blush and try to cover my face in Colten shirt as he laughs.

"I love you too," he mumbles.

"Woo hoo!" Brittni squeals, clapping her hands along with everyone else.

It's only James, Tristan, Jackson, Brittni and David.

"Brittni," I groan, accepting her hug anyway.

"Yas! My best friend is going to prom!" She screams excitedly.

I roll my eyes and snuggle into Colten's side as everyone joins us.

"How long have you had this planned?" I ask him, looking up at his face.

"A few weeks," he kisses my forehead. "Do you like it?"

"Like it?" I say shocked. "It is amazing. I did not think you would do something like this."

"Got to have the best for my lady," he smirks and presses his lips to mine. I smile into the kiss, wrapping my free hand into his hair, his palms pressing into my waist and pulling me into him. Before it can become to deep, Jackson is groaning.

"God stop!" He growls, and I pull away from my boyfriend to see my brother looking disgusted.

"Now you know how I feel whenever you and Brittni mouth fuck each other," I raise an eyebrow snootily making Brittni laugh and Jackson scowl.

"Whatever," he mumbles.

"Okay," Brittni grabs my hand, dragging me towards the house. "Since this is done, we're going to get ready for the party and meet you guys down here in two hours."

I don't get much chance to complain as she's already pulling me up the stairs and pushing me into my room.

"Fuck, you're rough," I rub my arm that she man handled.

"Weird," she says, looking stumped. "Jackson says the same thing. In a different text, but you guys are more alike than you think."

"Gross," I cover my ears. "I did not need to hear how you guys talk in bed."

"Like you and Colten are much better." I roll my eyes. "No more talk about how our men get us wet, get in the shower."

I make a gagging sound, but head towards the shower anyway.

Right as I get out, Brittni is attacking me with hair and make up. She blow dries and straightens my hair, doing some weird beehive thing on the top of my head. Then my face is done perfectly. I would hate to know how much concealer, foundation and bronzer were used, I may just have a heart attack. I'll just expect the fact that I look hot and worry about the outcome later.

"Perfecto!" Brittni jumps up and down excitedly.

"Um, Brit," I turn to her. "Don't you take French?"

There's not a problem with her knowing the Spanish word for perfect, but I'm a bit confused.

"Yeah, I know," she nods. "Was that not French?"

I want to face palm so bad, but instead, I pat her shoulder with a sympathetic look and walk towards my closet to pick out what to wear. Short? Leggings? Skirt? Dress?

Ugh, I have no clue. Leggings are good for moving around, but it seems to hot. A skirt and dress always seem to ride up whenever I want to get down so my last option is shorts. I don't mind much, they only ever give me extreme wedgies anyway.

Picking out a pair, I match it with a camisole and a pair of Converse. I wait for Brittni go get some before we head downstairs.

I hear how loud their being right when I open the door. Yelling and shouting booms through the house, baritone voices vibrating against the walls. What are they doing?

"Uh, hello," I wave, but they don't seem to notice as they throw the Scrabble pieces across the floor.

"Pússy is a word!" James argues, looking pissed off as he tries to lay the letters down. Tristan is faster than him and pushes them off the board. "Hey! I was almost done!"

"We agreed on no slang," Colten shakes his head at his friend.

"It's not slang," James seems offended. "I say pussy all the time. In fact, I fucking eat pússy! As well as the rest of you."

"Guys!" Brittni screams silencing their argument. "Are we going or what?"
