《Camille Lupin the Unicorn》Harry's First Patronus Lesson

Camille's POV
It's been two and half weeks since Christmas. The students are back and classes have resumed. Remus asked me to come to his office tonight. Don't know why. But it's my brother. So I walk to his office eating a licorice wand. I enter the room without knocking to see him levitating the chairs and tables to the side of the room.
"What'cha doing?" I ask him.
"Making room, is that a licorice wnad?" he asks me.
"Yep, brought some yesterday at Honeydukes" I tell him.
"But you hate licorice" he says confused.
"Guess I've gotten used to the taste" I tell him with a shrug. "So why did you summon me?" I ask as I drop my disguise sitting on his desk.
"I'll be teaching Harry the patronus charm and hoped you'd help me" he states.
"That's advance magic, he's only a third year" I remind him.
"I know, but he wants to be able to fight them if they come to his next match" he tells me. I nod my head. Speaking of quidditch Harry got his broom back. His team were thrilled by it and he has been training hard preparing for the match against Ravenclaw. Which will happen next weekend.
Someone knocks on the door. I put up my disguise as Remus invites Harry in. "Oh Professor Prewett, I didn't know you'd be here" he states.
"Remus invited me, says he's teaching you the patronus charm. Which I happen to be a master at" I brag.
"Great, what is a patronus charm?" he asks me.
"A very powerful charm used to repel dementors and lithfolds. This ancient and mysterious charm conjures a magical guardian, a projection of all your most positive feelings. A coporeal patronus can even be used to send messages" I tell him.
"Coporeal?" he asks.
"It's a patronus that takes an shape. It takes the shape of the animal with whom they share the deepest affinity" I explain. "For example, Expecto Patronum" I say and my unicorn patronus appears. It gallops around the room before disappearing. "You may suspect, but you will never truly know what form your Patronus will take until you succeed in conjuring it" I tell him.

"That was amazing professor" he tells me. "Can you make a coporeal patronus?" he asks Remus.
"I can and it's different to hers. Each patronus is unique to the witch or wizard who conjures it" Remus tells him.
"Though there are some special cases. Where a couple will have complementary Patronuses. That is to say a male and female forms of the same animal" I tell him. Thinking of his parents.
"But I must warn you, Harry, that the Charm might be too advanced for you. Many qualified wizards have difficulty with it" Remus tells him.
"I understand professor, how do you conjure it?" Harry asks.
"With the incantation I used" I tell him.
"While thinking of a really happy memory" Remus finishes.
"Expecto Patronum" he says while holding his wand.
"Focusing on the happy memory" I tell him.
"Oh right" he mutter. "Expecto patrono -- no, patronum -- sorry -- expecto patronum, expecto patronum" he says. Something whooshed suddenly out of the end of his wand; it looked like a wisp of silvery gas. "Did you see that? Something happened" he says excitedly.
"Very good" I tell him.
"Ready to try on a dementor?" Remus asks him. He looks nervous. "Not a real dementor, of course. A boggart. When it sees you, it'll turn into a dementor" he explains.
"I'm ready" Harry says looking more confident.
"Melody, please be ready to step in" Remus tells me. I nod my head and stand near Harry wand at the ready. Once he was sure Harry and I were ready. He opens the chest and a dementor boggart appears looking at Harry.
"Expecto patronum! Expecto..." Harry trials off.
"Expecto Patronum" I say firmly and my unicorn rams the boggart back into the chest. Remus locks it as I cushion Harry's fall with a spell. I knell beside him with Remus and we wake him up.
"Sorry" he tells us.
"You have nothing to be sorry for" I tell him as Remus hands him a chocolate frog.
"Are you alright?" he asks Harry.

"Yes" he says and eats the chocolate frog.
"I didn't expect you to do it on the first try, that would of been remarkable" Remus tells him.
"It's getting worse. I could hear her louder that time and him. Voldemort" Harry mutters. I share a look with Remus who looks pale.
"Harry, if you don't want to continue, I will more than understand" Remus tells him.
"I do! I've got to! What if the Dementors turn up at our match against Ravenclaw? I can't afford to fall off again. If we lose this game we've lost the Quidditch Cup" Harry states. I smile, just like his father.
"You might want to select another happy memory. That one doesn't seem to have been strong enough" I tell him. He nods his head and becomes thoughtful. We all get up. Harry and I with our wands at the ready.
"Ready?" Remus asks him and he nods his head. Remus opens the chest again and the boggart dementor appears.
"Expecto patronum! Expecto Pat" Harry says and faints again. I dealt with the boggart while Remus helped Harry. "I heard my dad" he mumbles as he wakes up. "That's the first time I've ever heard him -- he tried to take on Voldemort himself, to give my mum time to run for it" he explains.
"You heard James?" we ask him.
"Why -- you didn't know my dad, did you?" Harry asks us.
"I did, as a matter of fact. We went to school together, with Remus here" I tell him smiling.
"We were friends at Hogwarts" Remus confirms. "Listen, Harry perhaps we should leave it here for tonight. This charm is ridiculously advanced. I shouldn't have suggested putting you through this" he states.
"No, I'll have one more go! I'm not thinking of happy enough things, that's what it is. . . hang on" Harry tells us. Yep, just like his father to determine to do anything he sets his mind too.
"Ready?" I ask him and he nods his head.
"Concentrating hard? All right go" Remus says letting the boggart dementor free.
"EXPECTO PATRONUM! EXPECTO PATRONUM! EXPECTO PATRONUM!" Harry bellows. An incoporeal patronus appears between him and the boggart dementor. He pushes it back into the chest and Remus locks it.
"Well done Harry" I say.
"Excellent, Harry! That was definitely a start" Remus tells him.
"But that's enough for tonight" I state. Harry goes to protest, but I hold my hand up silencing him. "You've had enough for one night" I tell him.
"Eat the lot, or Madam Pomfrey will be after my blood. Same time next week?" Remus asks while handing him a bar of Honeydukes chocolate.
"Okay" Harry says taking a bite of the chocolate. "Professors. If you knew my dad, you must've known Sirius Black as well" he says. Remus and I both freeze.
"What gives you that idea?" Remus asks him.
"Nothing. I mean, I just knew they were friends at Hogwarts too" Harry states. Remus and I both relax.
"Yes, we knew him" I tell him.
"Or we thought we did. You'd better be off, Harry, it's getting late" Remus tells him. Harry left us. "Are you ok?" he asks me.
"Yes, got any more chocolate?" I ask him. He pulls out another bar. Splitting it in half and we share it.
"About what mum said at New years, was it true? Do you still have feelings for Sirius?" Remus asks me.
"I do" I tell him.
"You're not helping him are you?" he asks me.
"There's something I have to tell you, something important. Please keep an open mind, don't interrupt me" I tell him. He nods his head and I open my mouth....

The original version of the first book was published on RR in 2019 and has since seen multiple revisions based on reader feedback with this one as the final and official fourth version before the second book. While the entire series story has undergone major changes in the last year, all books have been planned since the beginning of writing. It is also my second wish to eventually make this story into a webcomic, either by myself or with a team if possible. Thank you for taking this journey with me, and enjoy reading! ( You can alternatively read books in the series as standalone fictions, but they connect to one another though a running theme and mystery that evolves and progresses with the main character. ) Alternate Blurb for the Singularity Cycle series: Essairyn had never felt truly alive on Earth. It felt like something was missing ever since she was born, but even after nearly 20 years of mundane living, she could never pinpoint what this or the emptiness in her heart was. Suddenly, she awakens in a grandiose, primordial forest and encounters mythical creatures beyond her restless imagination in a parallel world called Sol'h'meyr. She befriends, in particular, a sassy fox-spirit named Akari who reincarnated after three millennia. Essairyn is gifted with abnormal magic, and Akari is being chased by those of her dark past. Together, they set out on an adventure in a world more dangerous than its beautiful facade could hide. Finding new friends along a path riddled with tragedy, Essairyn must learn who to trust as deceit and betrayal lie behind kindly faces. Life in this deceptively promising world slowly spirals down a path of no return. This is not a game, but cruel reality. Her simple adventure became the modest beginnings in a chain of disruptions that tore even the dimensional fabric of time and space. No one, not even Essairyn, was who she thought they were. And not even the fickle gods could change the time-worn destiny of the universes... A single promise shook eternity’s existence.
